Well, I /could/ write a wall of text, but I'll keep this short and to the point.
Like I've said in my previous post, I /do/ believe it /is/ more a state of mind and a people sided problem; but that being said, if you think a revamp would really help I'm not against it and I'll support the site either way. Mearly my opinion, after all. :] But no, a URL Change would make me sad. If anything, I am very for keeping that no matter what the outcome. <3

chase i love you xD -happily read that non wall of text- ~♥ BUT I ALSO READ YOUR LOVELY WALLS OF TEXT TOO ;D
now to comment on lore's latest post xD
Timeskip; i agree. i ADORE watching my characters grow! i mean noxx has changed so much from her bio! && chex is getting bolder and bolder. && i'd hate for a timeskip to ruin our fun xD goodness thnx for pointing this out babe.
AND SO THEY WALK to the next bolded heading
Adopt-a-Sklave-Newbie; it allows noxx to be a dick, and a NICE PERSON AT THE SAME TIME o: correct me if i'm wrong, but i kinda 'adopted' mastered sinn in the beginning. But that was purely OOC in the c-box. but EXTENDING this into roleplaying, almost like a mentor-apprentice kind of thing 'though not calling it that' relationship. but i think what we'd have to be careful of is making the newbies feel inferior. because some people who join are very good writers, literate, and ready to jump right in they just need to hack into our friendship bonds.
Sparta Shelpey xD Oh my gawsh i love this so much! i would kill someone to have this as an actually activity instead of purely parody.

A little comment before I shower: Not everyone likes cussing Noxx. XP
I'm thinking for Adopt A Newbie we'll have our own "profile" (ie: about us, what we're like, don't like, etc... ALL RELATING TO WHAT MIGHT AFFECT THE NEWBIE SUCH AS OUR PERSONALITIES, ROLE PLAY PREFERENCES, ETC...). That way the newbie can pick who they feels will best suit them.

That'd be awesome! X3 I don't think it will be too hard to get a custom code for that either. :3 As for more than one newbie, agreed on that. One at first, and then after a bit, staff can evaluate if you're active/helpful enough with your newbie and let you have another.
On that note, it also reminds me that I think staff (or at least I) will be more strict with letting people have more than 5 (that's the limit right?) characters. As Lore earlier pointed out with the posting thing, you may be active, but not in role playing. In fact, maybe we should think about limiting that to 3 or 4?

This is what Rena thinks. REVAMP: I'm totally fine with a revamp. In fact, I think it may be kinda necessary. Updated rules, new skin, new layout, plot better defined, etc etc. All of these are positives. However, I do not agree with moving to a new URL. Not only do I still have open threads on here, I also have plottage in motion. I'd find it difficult to transfer my characters, threads, and the like onto a different proboard. If we did move URLs, I would request that we left the site open (only) to members permanently. I am strongly against moving URLs.
TIME SKIP: No. Just no. I plan on several of my characters to evolve in crucial ways in the next couple of years. If the time skip was enforced, I would miss the thread where Taavi learns she can speak, I would miss Taavi evolving into less of a man-hater, I would miss Logan's joining with any guild, I would miss other ways that Logan would mature(still determining them, so I'm not saying anything about that yet), I would miss Alexx being reunited with Daemian, I would miss her learning about her past, I would miss Alexx's development as a character into less/more of a slut, I would miss Brian growing a backbone and learning not to let others trample over him, and etc etc etc. Point is, I would miss a ton with my characters. Not only that, but relationships between my characters and other characters would feel forced and unnatural without a true history to back their friendship/hatred of each other up. I do not agree with the time skip.
ADOPT A NEWBIE: I think this is an excellent idea~! members who feel comfortable roleplaying with newer members would have a chance to reach out. The newbie being able to choose who he or she wants to role play with is also a positive factor. I agree that while the program is first starting that each member is only allowed to adopt one newbie. This way other newbies are not neglected. If the need is greater, I suppose staff may grant a member who has proven him or herself worthy of more newbies at a time the ability to adopt another newbie. I agree with this idea.
LIMITING CHARACTERS: I do not agree that the character limit needs to be lowered. I'd say five characters is a decent amount, and even if you have one thread with each character, that's only five threads to keep up with. As long as you're responsible(which most SA members are) then I think the current character limit is fine. However, I will concede that the staff could be stricter about allowing members to have more characters then the limit says. The member should be active in roleplay, not necessarily active as in online in large amounts of time. Staff should be able to deny a request for a character exceeding the character limit should that member not be actively posting.
NEW STAFF: I'm okay with this idea. I don't really think our current staff need any help, but that's obviously up to the staffers. Although, with the revamp they may need extra hands to keep up with whatever new regulations are in place. Sure. I'll go along with this.
FACE CLAIM: I'm fine with this idea. I wouldn't make it a requirement, but I think a face claim index would be an excellent idea. I'm all for it.
MORE EVENTS: Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES. SA barely has any events, and I gotta say Spirit Week was loads of fun. Let's do it!
CHARACTER STATISTIC SYSTEMS: I can tell you this right now. This would utterly confuse me. I don't see the point of it(Yes, it may sound nice but I have my serious doubts). To adequately use this idea, we'd have to start off all of our characters at once, and start them from birth. This would effectively turn SA into an MMORPG. It's something I hope not to see. I strongly disagree with this idea.
LIMITING CHARACTER SHIFT TYPES: I'd have to agree with Lore's solution. Not only is it reasonable, but it's also do-able. Of course, there's always going to be people who complain about the character limits. Although, maybe you could make it so animal shifts that are limited are still buyable from the store or something? I support this idea.
ANYTHING ELSE I'VE MISSED: If I've missed anything, I'll try and address it after I'm done banning myself. I unbanned myself for this thread because I want to make myself heard for these crucial decisions for SA. Laters all~<33 x3

Okay, quick note about changing URL's:
NO, we will not close the site until open threads are done with. Even if a new URL is decided and we do move over, this site will still be open for posting UNTIL said threads are done.
NO, you will not move threads over. That would be WAYYYYYYYYYYY to hard. Once they're done (this part is a "possibly"), all threads in archives will be moved back (or left as is) because the whole site will become "archives".
NO, threads will NOT be deleted.
NO, there will NOT be a time skip. It will continue from where things are. Amber is still dead, Shanks has already left SA, etc...
^ I really don't know where that least one came from or who got the idea, but it's not going to happen. The plot and history will be EXPANDED on, it will NOT be replaced. Hope that clears things up. XP

I've been following the thread and everything that's been said, but I'm not going to reply with a wall of text, really.
I think for the most part, I'm hearing that a URL change won't be necessary. Personally, that's fine by me. I've got the test site up and running (shelpey-test.proboards.com) and I've made a thread with snips of coding that we're considering using, as well as sites that have side tables and layouts that look appealing that we might use for inspiration. I suppose that you can keep an eye on that and see how the progress is coming along. Right now, it's pretty bland. But when it's all set up and perfected over there, the site here is going to go into MM, and we'll redo SA's skin and layout and rewrite things (that we probably will have already prewritten anyway) and hopefully be out of MM before anyone gets too upset.
Aaand...that's about it. See? Short and sweet.
But seriously: ideas and recommendations for the new site's layout! What colors do you want to see as a running theme between all the skins? Where do you want the side tables placed? WHAT side tables would you like to see, and which ones don't seem that useful?

I'm banned on Born Of Night for some reason. XP And hm, I think I'll keep an eye out, if I remember. As for colors, I've always loved neon colors with black. XP I also like light green/sky blue/white. X3 It reminds me of the beach or something. ColorLovers (http://www.colourlovers.com/) has a lot of good color schemes that we can use. :3 I'd like to see all the skins be different this time though (which would also mean FULLY customizable codes//that wouldn't mess up for any of the skins. IE: watch out for those CSS codes within javascript codes). Side tables I like on the side. Then again, I've seen some AMAZING sites without side tables too. I think it would be a fun challenge, though I realize, that most people would probably hate that then. So I say right side. Side tables... hm. Credits are a must. Maybe move the chat box above the forum/below the welcome table? I think it's an easier access so you can see what's going on RIGHT when you get on. I also have to say, one chat box or another. Chatango, I like for the customization. However, I notice we had more quests stop by when it was the cbox (and less people have chatango accounts anyway). Personally, if you ask me, I say the cbox. -shrug- I'd offer to pay for a premium one too. Only $2 a month, and we do use it a lot. :3 Welcome/Plot we should keep. I say an affiliate table by the way (at the bottom of the forum). That way we can have scrolling/static/marquee. I find it's also easier to find the affiliates (since it's the only code that's really edited in the main footers). News we should also keep too. I was also thinking each staff could have a "staff update box" (ie: glorious-canines.proboards.com/index.cgi). No worries, I made that box myself, so it's not stealing. P: But, I think it would be cool to have said updates next to the chat box (or below/above, I like the longer chat boxes because it's easier to read. IE: kismetroleplay.proboards.com/ Also coded by myself). Without the tabbed welcome table thing. So: Welcome/Plot, News, and Credits. Chat box (cbox)/(personal) staff updates at the top. Affiliates on the bottom.

We need to find that code that lets us have different coding for different skins. I saw it around recently, but I think at one point Toki, you also linked me to it. We'll have to search a bit. Did a lot of your suggestions and I'm liking how it's coming along. Still don't know which chatbox we should use, but maybe we can work something out along the lines of having a notes-for-other-members board/cbox, much like the top cbox is now. It's a handy idea, and I'd like to be able to keep it, without having the bulk of two cboxes both displayed. Maybe the notebox should be an external link? Then again, we might check it less often if it's just a link, and things could go unnoticed. Affiliates are at the bottom now. I like the size it is, and adding another row of static affiliates makes everything else seem too out of proportion. I realize though that we have more static affies than there are room for. We'll work on that issue later. Tables: Plot/welcome, helpful links, staff list/info, gangs (probably we'll cut this since the CI should take care of that) and credits are on the side. Updates/news/staff updates are next to the chatbox at the top. I know I'm not going to be making THAT many personal announcements, but I think one box for site and staff updates should be okay, since it's big enough to hold a good amount of info. shelpey-test.proboards.com/index.cgi I'm thinking it's about time to get on to colors. :3 That'll be tomorrow, though. It's 1:50 AM, and I'm finally getting more tired. ...And hungry.
