Since the beginning of time, humans have had the power to shapeshift. They needed this power to understand the world and how it works: it’s the reason why they’re on top. They understand things. However, over time, humans have become ignorant to their heritage, and forgotten their gift. Now, in 21st century society, few true shapeshifters are left. They can be found in select cities around the world called there by some instinct. It serves as their newfound hope: a way to regain their sight. The only problem: humans know. Some shifters have been too careless and reckless with their freedom. They’ve been caught.
It is now that the humans are becoming suspicious. They want knowledge; they crave it. Scientists are becoming ever curious with their newly caught specimens. How did they get their power? Why them? Are they chosen ones? Gods? The shifters kind needs help; they're a dying breed, so to speak. Their knowledge, experience, and ability aren't enough to fight off the swarms of greedy humans—while their population is dwindling down to dangerously low numbers. These humans are part of the problem, but they don’t seem willing to be part of the solution. Something needs to change.

Subway Tunnel A utility alcove in the yellow line tunnels. Accessible by the subway itself, or by a lose ventilation grate that lets out into a back alley. The dark space is furnished with wooden crates and boxes to sit on, and littered with trash. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Fairgrounds Only open during the summer, the small city carnival ground is filled with game stands, platform rides, and arcades. Every now and then, a city security guard will come to check the grounds for any unauthorized activity. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Warehouse A big, rarely used building. Boxes upon shelves of boxes and equipment are stored here year-round. A back door opens up on to a back delivery road. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Empty Prison Though it no longer is used to hold prisoners, the eeriness of the building still hangs heavy in its unlit hallways. Some of the cells are still closed, and others hang ajar. It hasn't been used in at least forty years. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Drainage Sewer The underground water drainage system for the city, that eventually opens out into the harbor. A wide sidewalk square is accessible by a manhole in a back alley. Other manholes let into the sewer in other places. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Junkyard Towers of trash, from recycled scraps, to old cars, to busted appliances, A tall chain-link fence topped with barbed wire runs the perimeter, but there's a small hole toward the back that can be used for getting in. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Old Bar An abandoned bar and night club on a city side street. Inside are tables and chairs, a small stage, a bar, and a few back rooms. The front windows and door have been boarded up, but aback door has been picked open. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Cemetery Owned in part by the church, and in part by the city's government, the cemetery has two very distinct areas. The section closes to the front, near the church, is tidy and well kept, with white headstones that are engraved with elegant scriptures. The rest of the acres, however, are much more run-down and shabby than should be to honor the deceased. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
School The High School for all students in Shelpey Alley. Classes are 45 minutes long, and there are 8 periods a day. The first bell rings at 9:00, and school lets out at 3:45. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Town Center The town center holds most of the area's attractions. A large mall hosts a movie theater, shops, and plenty of fun. Opposite the shopping mall is the town square, with a few small restaurants, the post office, community center, and the school. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Coffee Shop This small little café is the idea spot for a morning coffee or a lunchtime snack! A warm and friendly atmosphere, and live music is often playing. A variety of things are offered on the menu. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Harbor The waterfront is lined with docks, wharfs, boats, and a few shops. The harbor lies further up the bay than the beach. This part of the boardwalk doesn't contain the shops that the beach has, but you can get to them if you feel like walking about ten blocks. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Beach (2 sub-boards) The beach is a wide strip of sandy shore, backed by the boardwalk and harbor shops. Lots of people can be found hanging out here, and it's actually a quite popular place to be even out-of-season. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Residential District The neighborhood of the city: most of Shelpey Alley's characters live in this area. The housing here ranges from small apartments to large and spacey houses. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Downtown Disctict Filled with malls, a pool, hotels, nice restaurants, the subway system, museums, and guided tours, the downtown district of Shelpey isn't all that bad. It's rather well-kept, intended to attract tourists. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Farm Run by an old, grouchy farmer, the farm takes up a lot of acres, and produces plenty of different crops that are sold for a good profit. Chickens, cows, pigs, and sheep are only a few of the animals that are raised here. The farm's collie is a friendly girl and likes to unknowingly chat with the Shifters. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Lake A beautiful fresh-water lake that lies outside the reaches of the city's air pollution. It's about twenty minutes away from the city, and offers a relaxing escape from the rush of the day. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
Park Reserve The Park is a city-owned reserve dedicated to protecting the wildlife that remain in the urban sprawl. A small visitor's area lies out front, complete with picnic spots and small playgrounds. The woods themselves are fenced off and kept off-limits to the public, but there are plenty of ways to slip through. Moderator: Vulpine Fire
