Appearance:
Human: Thao stands about 5'7, and has an extremely lanky build. He's nothing but lean muscle, which actually makes him quite strong. His light brown hair is isn't very thick, and generally doesn't get tangled much. The front falls down across his eyes and sticks out a little, while the back is mostly thin spikes. He has a pink stripe running through the right side of his bangs, although he'll change the color on occasion. His eyes are an orangey-brown. He avoids wearing really tight clothing, as it shows just how thin he is. His shifter tattoo is located on his left wrist, and he covers it up with a Lucky Charms watch.Personality:
Shifted: When shifted, Thao looks like a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. The majority of his coat is a brownish red color, interrupted by stretches of white markings. His entire underbelly, from his jaw to the base of his tail, is white. He also has a long blaze going up the middle of his forehead. Like all corgis, he's short and stocky, though thinner than the average healthy weight. He has a very short tail, with a snowy white tip.
Being a clown, Thao has to have the personality to fit the job: he's funny, social, and completely shameless. He's very good at getting people to laugh, even when they're feeling melancholy. Thao cares deeply for his friends and family, and is a good person to talk to when you're feeling down. His optimistic, sunny attitude is awfully infectious.History:
That's not to say he doesn't have a serious side. When the situation calls for it, he can be calm, level-headed, and logical. He enjoys games, but he won't tolerate beating around the bush when there's an emergency. He rarely gets truly angry, but he can be annoyed.
His childhood was extremely normal before he moved to Shelpey. He lived in a suburban neighborhood with his two parents and his older sisters, Annie and Anise. (They're twins.) Things changed for him the day he went to the circus, however. After the event, he was infatuated with the Big Top; he spent every weekend and summer from there on out practicing his clown antics, and even signing up for an acrobatics program.Sample:
After just recently moving to Shelpey, he employed himself as entertainment for birthday parties and hospitals. No one has hired him yet, but he remains optimistic.
(Suffice to say, he has never been afraid of clowns.)
Thao sighed as he flopped face-down on his bed, a content smile on his face. Still hanging on his shoulders was a partially unzipped dark blue backpack, its contents slightly visible. What could be seen was a section of a garish yellow costume, and a few unused balloons. Sticking out of the bag was also a classical wand, the shiny black plastic now dull in the poorly lit room.Other:
"Was it really that bad?" said a female voice from the doorway. Looking up, Thao saw the figure of his older sister Annie. Or is it Anise? Thao flipped over to get a better look. No, it was Anise; she had just gotten a hair cut, so her hair was shorter than Annie's.
"You usually aren't this tired unless the party was wild," Anise continued as she made her way over to her younger brother's bed. Thao smiled sleepily at her. "Yeah, it was sort of rough," he said, shrugging off his pack at last. "There were at least seven kids, and none of them could have been over the age of five."
"Aaaaw, my poor baby brother," cooed his sister, ruffling up his already messy hair. Thao laughed and swatted her hand away. In response, she poked his ribs. Before they knew it, things had escalated into a tickle fight.
"STOOOP! I GIVE! I GIVE!" Thao gasped between laughs, desperately attempting to get away from Anise. Smirking victoriously, the older sibling released her brother. "I love it how every time we start this, I always win," she said with pride. "I mean, no matter what we do, I always get the upper hand. I remember the time...Thao? ...oh geez."
Anise ruffled her younger brother's hair once more, and left his room as quietly as she could. Thao had fallen asleep, and curled up happily as the door closed with a quiet "click."
Thao is EXTREMELY sensitive about certain things, whereas others don't bother him in the least. Calling him "gay" or "girly" has no effect on him.
He wants to work in a real circus one day, and even thinks about being a ringleader.
His family owns several goldfish. The tank is in their living room.
