Appearance:
Human: Nikkie is 5'8", the same height as Trinell, but she has a slightly stockier build. She takes care to keep herself in good shape, often waking up a few hours before she has to go to work so that she can run her daily four miles with Lyx. Usually, after work, she'll go to the gym and lift weights or beat up the punching bag. She weighs about 135 lbs and most of it is solid lean muscle.Personality:
Her mom was Native America and her dad was Irish and from them she got a beautiful golden brown complexion along with high cheek bones, a cute nose, almond-shaped eyes, and a fine but strong jawline. She has long, lean fingers from years of playing the piano.
Nikkie has mid-back length jet black hair that she almost always has up in a ponytail with silver bangs that frame her face that, if she has to, she will pull them back with hair pins or clips. She has cold, stony gray eyes surrounded by dark black lashes and fairly nice lips.
If she's not wearing her police uniform, she can usually be found wearing a pair of light blue jeans with a black tank top or zip-up hoodie and her black boots.
If she's going anywhere where she has to dress nice, she usually wears a pair of sleek pinstripe black slacks with a black tank top on underneath the matching pinstripe suspenders. On top of that, she will wear a tight black pinstripe v-neck button-up jacket along with a matching fedora, that she, if she's in the right mood, will tilt to the right on her head so that it hides part of her right eye.
Shifted: Nikkie is a Rottweiler, and a fairly intimidating one at that. She has all the same markings as a regular Rottweiler but because of her unusual gray eyes she's a tad bit scarier than average. The only difference in her coat is that her markings are closer to a dark mahogany color instead of the usual rust shade.
She's approximately 26 inches at the withers, which is an inch bigger than the typical Rottweiler bitch, and weighs about 93 pounds, which is a little under the desired max weight for Rottweiler bitches. She has her tail docked.
Nikkie is a very stubborn, very independent woman who is as against relying on others for her livelihood as is possible. She refuses to let anyone else take care of her unless it's absolutely necessary.History:
That being said, she is extremely close to her fellow officers and would gladly do everything within her power to help them. She has been known for helping them when they were down on their luck more than almost half the station put together. Family is the most important thing to her, thus her mentality.
She's very strong mentally and is exceptionally smart when it comes to solving problems, making her a must-have within the police force. She can asses a situation in seconds and just as swiftly come up with a safe, easy plan to diffuse said situation.
She's not the nicest person to people she doesn't know, often speaking curtly and aloofly, but she's not impolite. Her job won't allow it. Despite that, she has absolutely no problem with telling a person to go screw themselves without actually saying those words. She's practically made it an art; often coming up with witty, sarcastic remarks when someone is nasty to her.
Both of Nikkie's parents were Shifters and cops, her dad being a wolverine and her mom a sleek jaguar. She learned early that she could Shift, when she was three, to be exact, and would Shift whenever she could. Her parents never let her stay in Shifted form more than a few hours, wanting her to not accidentally get stuck in her Shifted form.Sample:
That is, until she was old enough to know when to change back without her parents reminding her, which was when she was about 5 and a 1/2 years old. By then she was already in the 2nd grade and was reading at a 4th grade level. She quickly made her way up through high school, eventually graduating at the age of 15 as the youngest in her class.
She didn't have any troubles school wise, being a good student and having cops for parents, but outside of school was a different story.
Although they lived in a good neighborhood none of the kids liked Nikkie, most of them claiming her to be a "mean, self-centered bitch". As a result she quickly became a cold, mean child and could usually be found playing with the three dogs her parents owned; a full grown male German Shepherd (her father's retired police dog), a full grown male Doberman Pinscher (her mother's retired police dog), and an overprotective female Japanese Akita.
Occasionally the neighbors would see a young Rottweiler playing with the other dogs and they always seemed to treat the young think like they did Nikkie, which confused the neighbors seeing as how the dogs didn't like any other dogs that came near or into their yard. Nikkie's parents just told them that they were babysitting a family friends' puppy whenever they were asked.
When she was 13, her mother was shot and killed while on duty. Luckily, she managed to get a shot between her killer's eyes right as he shot her in the stomach so she took him with her.
She and her father were devastated but they managed to pull through, with the help of friends, family, and Rex, her Doberman.
Nikkie waited impatiently to become old enough to become and cop and she quickly rose through the ranks until she was finally able to join the K-9 Division with her father at the age of 21.
She moved into her own small, pet-friendly apartment not far from home shortly after getting into the K-9 Division, much to her fathers' chagrin. He knew she was disliked much more than she realized and he also knew that she was constantly watching out for the Guilds, warning their members about the cops' whereabouts and that of other Shifters out to get them.
It was as if she were some kind of neutral being who took care of everyone. She was fiercely loyal to Shifters in general, not just any particular Guild.
Although, if anyone were to ask if there were any Shifters in general that she just did not like, she would not hesitate to say Trinell. The wolf Shifter just rubbed her the wrong way and Nikkie hated her for that.
Nikkie groaned sleepily and rolled over on her large, queen-sized bed exhaustedly only to roll onto Lyx, her German Shepherd. Lyx flicked his ears in an annoyed manner and whined, trying to push her off unsuccessfully his his snout.Other:
"Ugghhhhh... I hate Mondays, Lyx...." She moaned, rolling off of him and flopping back onto her back on her bed. "I'm gonna Shift, push me off the bed, will ya Lyx?" She added. Lyx heaved a sigh but nodded nonetheless and pushed the Rottweiler off the side of the bed once she had Shifted.
Nikkie hit the ground with a loud thump but was quick to get back up on her feet and shake her head, causing her ears to flop around.
Now mostly awake, she trotted out of her room with Lyx close on her heels, headed for her kitchen. She paused mid-step, however, as she heard rustling from within her kitchen. She could clearly hear the soft padding of paws on her tiled floors as well as the dull thud of work boots.
Her father.
Of course. He always made sure she was up and running on Monday, usually having her coffee already made by the time she was up and running. Taking a moment to sniff the air, she was happy to smell the strong scent of fresh coffee being scooped into the coffee machine.
Ears now perked and tail wagging happily, she trotted the rest of the way into her kitchen and barked happily at her father's back. He was already in his uniform, unsurprisingly.
With a smile, the man closed the top of the coffee machine and started it before turning around to smile at his daughter, who was happily wagging her stubby tail and staring up at him with stone gray eyes.
"Good morning, Nikkie. Did you sleep well?" He smiled, his low baritone voice loving. Nikkie barked once before Shifting suddenly and launching herself at her father, her arms flying around his neck.
"Morning daddy!" She chirped, her dad laughing and hugging her back. "I slept fine. But how was your trip?! Did you have fun? Was it cool? Tell me!" She rambled, finally quieting down when her father laughed loudly and ruffled her already messy hair affectionately.
He had been gone for the past month, hence Nikkie's trouble waking up, on a vacation that she and the other K-9 officers had paid for. They all believed he deserved a break and so they had gotten the Chief to agree and they all paid for the whole trip.
Sitting down at the small round table that was in the corner of the kitchen, Nikkie followed her fathers example and sat across from him, eagerly leaning forward to hear about how his trip had gone.
OOC//: And I shall leave it at that cuz I don't want to write up thirty paragraphs on how his trip was. xDDD
She works with the K-9 Division so she has a 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd dog as her constant canine companion. The GSD is a male about 95 lbs and about 3 feet at the shoulder, which is big for a German Shepherd. He's extremely well-trained and listens to Nikkie above all. He's very sweet and playful unless he's working, in which case he fits the profile of an intimidating Police dog to a 'T'.
Oh. And she NEVER goes ANYWHERE without Lyx, her gun, and her G-Shock watch. Like, EVER. They're ALWAYS with her unless she's taking her shower, in which case Lyx will lay down in front of the door and she'll have her watch on the sink counter with her gun.
Her Shifter tattoo is on the small of her back, like a Tramp Stamp, and is a silvery-blue color.
(Lol I did a little research and realized my numbers were off xD)
