Pierce took a deep breath in as he sailed through the air. It was finally nice again since the week of rain that the city had had. He'd woken up early that morning to find the sun warm and bright on his carpet. He'd hopped up and outta bed and took off, spreading his wings for the first time in a week.
The sun warmed his back and the air filtered through his feathers, signaling to him the return of yet another beautiful spring. He'd randomly wandered the skies, feeling joyous and giddy but when he tired down he landed on a branch on a tree in the park. There were human families bustleing about with toddlers, watching the animals and playing on the swingset near by. There was a family eating lunch at nearly every picnic table there and a few people sat on benches near by, reading the paper or talking on their cell phones. Pierce nustled himself in among the growing leaves, rustling around in them and feeling them scratch his feathers. He always loved spring and summer. Even fall was fun for him, soaring around and seeing the beautiful colors on the trees. But winter was always the three month drag he couldn't stand; cold and wet and dark and it was never any fun outside. Those little moments like this that signaled the warm weather were what he lived for.
As he was joyously hopping around from branch to branch on the tree, a small movement caught his eye. His head whipped in that direction, only to notice a young, black kitten playing amongst the leaves and grass on the ground. He was out of the way, behind some garbage cans on the far side of the area in which the humans did not notice. He was curious and decided to fly over. He landed lightly, about a foot away, and hopped his way over. He was hoping the kitten wouldn't mistake him for a regular bird and start playing with Pierce. That would suck, he decided. He neared closer and identified the Thief scent on the kitten. He chirped a few times, ready to flap off if he turned and swatted at him.

Andrei purred and mewled happily as he crouched low to the ground, furry bottom and tail wagging in the air, before leaping at the falling leaves around him. He didn't seem to notice the people that weren't too far away from him, nor any of the random little critters that stopped to look at him, maybe squeak a few words at him, and run away.
His tail wagged behind him, his purr loud and rumbling despite his tiny size. He was so happy to be out. Trinell had decided to take him to the park reserves after she had seen him playfully attacking the random leaf near their apartment, saying something about how he shouldn't be cooped up on such a pretty day.
They had originally been together, him and Trinell, but the wolf had trotted off after a short, comfortable nap in the sun. She'd told him to stay close to the area and that if he needed her, all he had to do was yowl for her. She'd be there in no time.
Now, two hours later, Andrei was still highly entertained by the slowly falling leaves of various shades of green. Spring was possibly his favorite season, but he wasn't entirely sure. "Ah! Gotcha!" Andrei meowed excitedly, his "prize" captured firmly between his two front paws as he flopped down onto his back to play with the leaf. It only lasted for a little while before a gentle breeze blew the leaf away.
"Awww, I was playing with that." He sulked for a few seconds before a movement in the sky caught his attention; bird. Normally, he didn't bother the birds. Sometimes, they'd come up and talk to him and he'd happily talk to them as best as he could but majority of the times they gave him a wide berth; they believed him to be like most cats.
Andrei shrugged his slight shoulders just barely before returning his attention to a large leaf that was lazily drifting down. Crouching, belly to the ground, the little cat Shifter tensed all his muscles before launching himself upwards, a deafening [to his ears, at least] purr exploding from his chest as his mouth clamped down on the leaf and he dropped back to the ground easily, his tail straight out behind him giving him balance.
Once he was firmly on the ground, he devoted all of his attention to playing with the leaf that was bigger than his head. He was just about to toss the leaf up and swat at it when he heard a tiny bird drop to the ground and hop closer, the small animal cheeping at curiously. Andrei let the leaf drift from his mind and turned to the bird, his head tilted to the side in innocent questioning. "Who're you? 'M Zeke." He said happily, turning his entire body around. "D'ya wanna play with me? We can play with the leaves!" He asked after a moment, his excitement showing in his glowing mahogany eyes and perked ears. A low, quiet purr made his ribs vibrate lightly as he stared expectantly at the bird for a response.
