It's not going to happen this time... It's not going to happen this time... Hail chanted in his thoughts as he stared at his computer, which was unplugged and getting dusty. Of course, who would use a computer which turned them into an animal?
After cautiously getting on his knees, Hail took the power strip's cord in his hand and stared at the outlet like it was an enemy. "It's not going to happen again..." He whispered as he slowly pushed the prongs into the wall. A slight spark came from the outlet as it was finally pushed in, and Hail fell onto his bottom.
After quickly checking his pants for dryness (you can never be too sure), Hail stood up and sat down in the leather seat, staring at the computer tower offensively. "It's not going to happen again..." He said once again before touching the button. He cautiously turned on the monitor as well, and a picture of a white rabbit appeared, and he closed his eyes, but it was too late. When he opened his eyes, he came to see the underside of his dusty old desk, and he cursed.
Minutes later, Hail found himself staring at himself in the mirror of his bathroom, using a damp rag to clean his ears. "This is getting ridiculous." He muttered, switching ears and making a mental note to clean the floor later. He dropped the now dirty rag and stormed out of the bathroom, angry. He walked into his small kitchen and opened the fridge. "Out of soda again, god dammit." He said, his day not getting any better.
Hail took a minute to check if he had his wallet and grabbed his keys before leaving his apartment, being sure to lock it before he walked onto the balcony and climbed down the fire escape to the street. He looked around warily, nervous about going out at night, but deduced it was safe and began to walk.
It only took another set of footsteps echoing through the dark, empty alley to scare Hail half to death. Running on pure instinct, Hail ran as fast as he could the opposite direction, only to crash into a trash can, his trashcan, and fall into it.

It was a chill night, the quickly approaching winter seemed to be setting in after a late Fall, it felt like only a couple days ago that it had been sunny and warm. Cayden took even breaths through the cold, his intakes coming out as clouds of steam in the dark midnight air. He was taking a shortcut through an old alleyway that lead past some appartments near the outskirts of town. The Area was usually more or less abandon, it was earie but he knew he could take care of himself. He stuffed his freezing hands into his jean pockets, his footsteps sounded echoed in the enclosed space.
Hm? He thought to himself as he tilted his head, he was sure he had just heard the sound of creeking metal. Echoing footsteps joined his own, the other quickly skittering away before a loud thud. A small misplaced wind blew through the space, the edges of his black button down shirt fluttered and his dark blonde streaked hair blew in front of his face. "Hello?" He called, his voice quiet but strong. Whatever it was sounded paniced.
He walked forwards again, he could hear small squeeking noises coming from a little ways off and quickly ran towards it, a street lamp at the end of the Alley shining and casting shadows behind him. He slowed his pace as he walked up casually to the garbage can where a pair of sneakers were struggling to find a foothold. He grinned, it was a funny scene.
"Are you alright?" His tone was gentle and careing, the last thing he wanted to do was terrify the boy anymore then he already was. He reached down and grabbed the boy's waist to pull him out carefully.

"Hello?" A voice said, muffled by the inside of the trashcan. Hail knew he was doomed. The only person he could think of that would be taking a stroll down a dark alleyway this time of night would be a rapist. Frantically, he tried to get his footing on the ground, but to no avail.
"Are you alright?" The same voice said. Hail opened his mouth to answer, but was interrupted by a pair of hands grabbing his waist. A squeak escaped him, and he was taken from the gross trashcan.
Hail flipped. "Don't rape me!" He shouted, starting to wriggle away from the person he'd yet to see. He finally escaped and hopped over the trashcan before turning around to see a shadowed figure. "Don't hurt me." He said, shaking slightly. Geez, I'm such a chicken. Why is it that I turn into a rabbit instead of a bug or something? He thought, keeping a sharp eye on his 'rapist'.

"Don't Rape me!" Cayden blinked in surprise. Rape him? He let the boy squirm out of his arms, his deep green eyes shawn in the dim light. The shape had jumped over the trashcan, and was stareing at him, obviously shaking and scared out of his mind. He furrowed his brow with worry, he didn't mean to startle the poor kid so much.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." He stayed where he was, his voice even and sincere. He took a slow breath, and smiled encouragingly. "I was just taking a walk, I'll leave. Again, sorry that I startled you." He smiled warmly, stuffing his hands back into his black jean pockets. He jerked his head to the side, his hair falling back in place as he started to walk away in the opposite direction.
His smile faded as he turned away from the boy, he stared down at the cold cracked blacktop that was below his feet, the buckles on his shoes glinted dully. He could feel the eyes of the boy on his back as he walked away.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. I was just taking a walk, I'll leave. Again, sorry that I startled you." The 'rapist' said. His voice was calm, almost soothing. Hail realized his mistake immediately. "I'm sorry. I was scared." His cheeks heated up slightly when he realized that he was already gone. With a sigh, Hail continued on.
"Thank you, have a nice evening." The convenience store clerk said as he was handed a receipt and some change. He took his case of Mountain Dew under his arm and left the store. As he retraced his steps to get home, he used his free hand to get his key out of his pocket and held it tight, so he could get in as quickly as possible. Safety first, right?
"Hey Kid, got a cig?" A voice said, breaking the silence of the night as he found himself in an all-to-familiar alleyway. Hail jumped and turned to the source of the voice. A dark figure was leaning against a wall, playing with a lighter.
Hail blinked. "Are you talking to me?" He asked, confused. "Yes, I am talking to you, cutie." Lighter-guy said. He almost dropped his soda. "Um. I don't. Sorry." He said, starting to walk away. "Did I say I was finished with you?" Lighter-guy said, moving from his position on the wall. Hail turned back around, but it was too late. Lighter-guy had grabbed his wrists, and he dropped his sodas with a very loud thump.
"Get off of me!" He shouted, trying to get loose. "I don't think I want to. You look like you'd be fun. Are you a virgin?" He said, grinning in the moonlight. Hail froze. This one really is a rapist... He thought as he was dragged forcefully into a darker corner of the alley. "HELP!" He screamed again.

Cayden rounded the corner, stopping and leaning against the cool stone in the shadows. "I'm sorry, I was scared.." His voice trailed off into the wind, his footsteps carried away into the distance. Sighing he ran his fingers through his hair. It's dangerous out here at this time of night, should I have left him? The boy was so jumpy and frail looking, anything could happen in this neihborhood. He kicked at a stone that was close to his foot, it skittered away into the abandon street outside the Alley.
The least he could do was keep an eye out for him, he decided that quickly. It was a rather boring night so far, at least he could possibly make this boy's night a bit safer. He smiled at his thoughts, nodding to himself. Pushing off the wall he walked back into the Alley, careful to make his footsteps a bit quieter this time. He spotted a doorway just a bit away from where the boy had emerged from, shadowed nicely. He slipped against it, leaning back and waiting patiently. He'd probably return soon.
His nights had been lonely lately, The old house he stayed in was homely but the ancient halls didn't provide much company. It was odd how he usually loved being alone, but lately it felt almost crushing as he sat in the old abandon halls. It'd been over a year since he had moved out, but it was different now. His lips twitched, eyes masked an unreadable expression. At least the night air cleared his mind, the shadows were comforting in their own way.
He turned his head to the side quickly, the sudden footsteps quiet at first before they got closer. The Snow-haired boy was back, or should he call him Garbage-Can boy. He snickered to himself silently, the image of the boy's legs flailing in the air was so very amusing.
The boy's anxious breathing was very close, he could see the puffs of white coming through the clear night as he struggled for his keys with his box of mountaindew under his arm. Must have gone to the store down the street His keys jingled in protest. "Hey, Kid. Got a Cig?" The small smile that was forming on his lips turned to a frown at the voice, it sounded husky and rough, and more then anything it sounded hungry.
The boy whirled around, and all very suddenly he was being held by the dark stranger and dragged off. The man's yellow stained teeth shawn with a discusting look of pure lust. "HELP!" The boy's struggled feebly against the heavily built man pulling him away. Cayden jumped forward immediately, His quick reflexes showing as he darted at the man sending him a punch strong enough to knock out the mans teeth right at his cheek. He fell awkwardly to the ground and Cayden Grabbed the boy out of his grasp, pushing him back as gently as he could behind him.
"Get out of here. And don't come back." He growled low in his throat, His crystal like eyes dark and hate filled. The man got to his feet and dashed away as quickly as he could, minus a few teeth that lay in the center of the alley, blood stained near them. He sent another low growl after him. People like him didn't like the conflict of someone who'd fight back, They liked someone small who had little means of protecting themselves. He'd run into plenty of them before. He hoped this would be the last time he ran into that guy ever again..
He quickly turned to the small frightened looking kid behind him, his own usually masked face looking worried as he breathed heavily, his quickened heart slowing down, addreniline still pumping to his brain. "Are you alright?" His voice cracked for a second before he composed himself, he sent him a small warm smile as he had earlier, he hoped he wouldn't scare him like he had last time. He let his breathing even out.

Hail's vision was a blur as he watched lighter-guy suddenly get attacked. When he realized he was free, he backed away from the fighting and into a wall, shaking. This time it really was a rapist... He thought, unable to believe his eyes. This guy saved me... Is it the same one as before?
"Get out of here. And don't come back." He growled low in his throat. Hail snapped out of his blur as the fight ended, and he watched lighter-guy run away with a sense of relief. "Are you alright?" His hero asked, looking concerned. Hail shook his head. "I don't know. You saved me just in time... Thanks."
After a bit of silence, Hail spoke up. "Are you alright? Did he manage to hurt you at all?" He asked, worrying more about his 'Hero' then himself. "I-I'll pay for your medical bills if he hurt you... I can't think of any other way to thank you." He stuttered, blushing.
What I'd like to know is what he was doing out here... He thought, looking around slightly. He didn't see any signs of someone living out here, but he had to ask. "A-are you living out here?" He asked, having stopped worrying about himself completely. "I-I mean, it's odd that you were here to save me... n-not that it's a bad thing, but it's odd... b-but it's perfectly normal and stuff for people to be taking walks..." Hail stopped his babbling. He wasn't getting anywhere.

The boy shook his head, "I don't know. You saved me just in time.. Thanks." Cayden smiled, and walked over to lean against the stone wall next to him. He glanced upwards, the brilliant stars shining brightly in their patch of velvet black canvas above. So peaceful, so untouched by corruption or mistaken ideals. He sighed lightly, looking to the side as the still slightly shaking kid beside him spoke.
"Are you Alright? Did he manage to hurt you at all? I'll pay your medical bills if he hurt you.." He could see his skin turn an adorable pink, a smile played with his features. His concern is touching, but it's misplaced. He should be worrying about himself, Even if he wasn't hurt physically their had to be some mental trauma after all that.. "A-are you living out here?" His eyes shawn with an innocent curiosity, as he tried to word his question correctly. "I-I mean, it's odd that you were here to save me... n-not that it's a bad thing but.."
He droned for a moment, Cayden chuckled slightly, He rested his hand on the boy's shoulder gingerly, he hoped he'd calm down. His muttled speach was amusing but he shouldn't have to. "I live on the outskirts, about a 5 minute walk away." He answered truthfully, even if it was very close the neiborhood was considerably better then the one this frail boy inhabbited. This really wasn't any kind of place for someone like him to live, and as far as he could tell he must have lived alone if he had gone out by himself at this time of night. Poor kid..
"And I'm fine, don't worry about me after everything that's happened." Another soft wind blew through the echoed corridor, he frowned as he looked around. They shouldn't be outside right now, it wasn't safe for the kid and he'd get sick if he stayed out in this much longer dressed the way he was. "You should get home, it's getting colder out."

Hail smiled as a hand was placed on his shoulder. "I live on the outskirts, about a 5 minute walk away." His Hero said, giving him a bit of relief. "And I'm fine, don't worry about me after everything that's happened." Hero said a moment later, causing Hail to worry a bit again.
A cold breeze passed by them, and Hail shivered. "You should get home, it's getting colder out." Hero said, having apparently read Hail's mind. "You should get warm too. Stay at my place tonight. I'll cook you breakfast for saving me." He said, smiling.
Hail walked through the alley and picked up his case of mountain dew before facing his Hero again. "If you need more motivation, I could find another rapist..." He joked, taking his keys out of his pocket.
Hail was silent as he walked over to his fire escape, which was his usual entrance and exit to his apartment. "I can't believe I feel so safe around you... and I don't even know your name." He muttered just loud enough for his Hero to hear, blushing.

"You should get Warm too, stay at my place tonight. I'll cook you breakfast for saving me." Cayden followed the small boy with his watchful eyes, why did he seem so calm after that ordeal, did he think about himself at all? "Tsk." He breathed incohherently, The scrap already reaching for the fire escape door that he leaned beside. Fingers flumbled with his keys as he attempted at some comic relief, attempt would be the key word there. The corner of his mouth twitched in Amusement before returning to the same thoughtful worry.
"I can't believe I feel so safe around you.. and I don't even know your name." The hushed murmerings just barely reached his sensitive ears, a soft pink was flushed over his shadowed features. Adorning a careful glow, he took the keys out of the boy's still seemingly fumbling hands, resting a hand on his left shoulder as he reached over his right to open the door, leaning down enough so that he could speak without raising his voice at all soft buffets of winds that swept by.
"I'm Cayden." His lips twitched as the door clicked open, and he rose to his full height again, sweeping past the boy and holding the door open for him. He swept his arm to the side, and motioned for him to go in. With a flick of his head he signalled for him to hurry, The last thing he wanted was the cool air to chill the apartment, this kid needed to warm up and get somer rest. He cast a reasuring smile.
