It had been a long day since Sephira had gotten up this morning. The diner she worked at was packed today, just like it had been for the past few weeks. It didn't bother her any really, but she had a made a decision last night to make some changes at home. She didn't manage to get any sleep at all, since she spent the entire time cleaning up the house and making fliers.
'Just a few more tables and I'll be done for the day.' She thought to herself and she brought a huge dish tray around to collect the used dishes at her last few assigned tables to bring back to the kitchen.
"Excuse me, miss?" She turned to face the man who called her sitting at the table behind her, "I asked for another basket of bread sticks, like, ten minutes ago. We still haven't gotten them." He said in a bit of an irritated tone.
"I'm sorry, please forgive us. We're a bit packed today so we're running a tad bit behind. Do you remember the name of your waiter?" She asked him, looking at the other three individuals sitting with him each in turn before turning back to the man. "It's alright, but I don't remember her name. She had short black hair and glasses though." He replied back, his tone back to normal.
She nodded, knowing who he was talking about, "Alright sir. I'll have her come right out with those bread sticks than." She smiled at him and turned back to her two tables grabbing the last few glasses and plates and heading directly back to the kitchen. "Hey Ella. You forgot about the bread sticks again." She called out to the young woman who looked about the same age. "Oh no, not again! I'm soooo sorry. Which table was it again? Crap, I suck at this job. You make it look so easy sometimes, Sephira." Ella replied back, looking overly distressed about it.
"Don't worry about it, Ella. You just got the worst possible luck of getting hired during a busy streak. It's not really that hard once you get the hang of it. Just take a deep breath and concentrate on one thing at a time. That's what your tablet is for." Sephira replied back to her as she placed all the dishes in the washer and turned back to face her, "And it's the table with the hot guy and his three buddies next to the window. Table four in the non-smoking section."
"Thanks. I owe you one." She called back to her as she grabbed a bowl of bread sticks and quickly made her way out to give them to their recipients.
With that, Sephira smiled and walked to the back of the kitchen and entered into a door titled 'Employee Breakroom' and walked over to the computer sitting next to the entrance. She put in her name and employee code and clocked herself out, wiping her forehead clean of the bit of sweat that had formed as she smiled with relief of another day over with. For work that is. There was an exit for employees to use in the breakroom to get out of the building so the customers didn't see them when they took smoke breaks that she used to get out with after grabbing her book bag from her locker on the other side of the room. She pulled off her name tag as she made her way to the sidewalk out front, placing it in a side pocket on her bag. She would have changed out of her uniform of a white dress shirt and black knee high skirt, but she wanted to waste as little time as possible to go out and post her fliers before she headed home.
As she passed phone polls and other poster areas, she put up a flier that read,
'Room for rent, looking for reliable roomate to share home with. Looking for nice, clean, fun person to share living space. For more information and address, call (insert number here).'
Normally, she felt better when she was alone, but she felt it was time to stop closing herself in and open up her home to someone other than herself for once in two years. It didn't seem like her father was coming back home anyway, and she had already been paying for everything as it was. Besides, it would be alot easier on her financially if she had someone share the money burden with her.
(lol Sorry it's so long, and for lack on info on flier. Couldn't think of address or number to put down at the time. :3)
