Trinell yawned as she watched the humans on the harbor from the beach. She had gotten bored wandering around the town and had decided to try and find something to do. She was even willing to play in the waves if it would only relieve her boredom. Sighing, she looked up at the sky, at all the seagulls flying around. She recognized one of her fellows thieves and flicked her tail in greeting before standing from where she sat. Stretching, she watched as her leader's brother walked along the beach, headed for his sister, and shook her fur out. She would not go near them, having no reason to, and instead trotted off the beach and up to the shops. Maybe she could find something smoewhat interesting there. She weaved through people's legs, wanting to laugh as they jumped and stared. Not caring, she paused by one of the shops and sat down to watch people, her tail curled neatly over her paws. "Geez, you humans are lame..." She sighed, too quiet for any of them to hear, "Wish someone else was here. It wouldn't be so insanely boring," She added, watching as a girl about her age stopped in front of her to stare. She returned the stare, tilting her head to the side curiously. The girl smiled a wide, happy smile and stretched her hand out to Trinell, saying, "Come here, girl... Come on, I won't hurt you, I promise." Trinell stuck her nose in the air, insulted. She hated how people always did that to her! Sure, she had no home like them but that didn't mean that she wasn't happy. She turned her head away indignantly, refusing to obey the girl. "Awww, come on, girl. I'll take care of you, don't worry!" Said the girl again. Trinell turned back to her and turned her ears back ever so slightly. She noted how her missing headphones and iPod made it feel wrong to do that. "Oh, shut up, girl! I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself. Geez!" She growled, the girl jumping back in fright as Trinell stood. Apparently she wasn't as stupid as Trinell thought. "Go on, leave me alone. Go back to your uppity parents and don't bother me again." She barked, jerking her head to the side. The girl, obliviously, reached for her again. This time Trinell drew her lips back over her teeth, baring her sharp canines angrily. "I told you to leave, girl!" She snapped, annoyed. The girl quickly left, leaving Trinell to snort and sit back down. She nodded sharply and returned to watching the people pass by, most of them wary of her now. She smirked slightly, her eyes twinkling. 'Oh, you people are so amusing to watch,' She thought to herself, perfectly relaxed.

Amber watched as the large canine growled at the girl. Her eyes turned to slits as she glanced up, the sun nearly blinding her. As she was waiting for their one-sided conversation to end, a soft growl was heard from in front of her. Instinctively, her claws slid out and her tail lashed. Partly, she wasn’t scared, but depending on what the growl was from, it could’ve been dangerous. Amber quickly lowered her gaze from the seagulls up above and peered at whatever made the sound.
As her eyes came into focus, she realized that the dog had just growled. Whatever the teen had said, it had made the animal angry. Cautiously, she took a step back into the shadows so only the front of her body was showing. Once the girl was out of view, Amber’s piercing gaze rested upon the sitting figure. She observed her stance more closely. Looks like a normal over-sized dog. Searching for any sign, she examined the mutt’s eyes without meeting its watchful eyes. Underneath the emerald color, excitement gleamed in those observant orbs.
So it seems to have human emotions now does it? So it’s a Claw, Amber amusingly thought. After a moment of consideration, she decided that she wouldn’t be a threat. She wouldn’t dare do anything this close to people at this time of day. Coming to a conclusion, Amber sat on her haunches, curled her tail around her legs, and murmured, “She wasn’t going to do anything you know. Since you’re terrorizing all our customers, I assume you don’t plan on leaving any time soon?”

“She wasn’t going to do anything you know. Since you’re terrorizing all our customers, I assume you don’t plan on leaving any time soon?” Trinell tilted her head down lazily, examining the cat that had come up to her, and let a slight smile pull her lips back non-menacingly. "She wouldn't leave me alone. She picked the wrong wolf to try to take home." She said, lifting her head again and looking around at the people. Some were staring, confused, while others just let it go, and majority just ignored them. Laaaaame! Thought Trinell. She turned back to the feline. "So! I'm Trinell. And I'll leave eventually, I'm just bored. And don't worry about the people, I don't kill them." Just steal from them. At this she smiled again, amusement gleaming in her eyes. "You are?" She was glad for the cat having come. She needed someone to talk to, her boredom was killing her.

Amber listened as the wolf voiced her intentions. As she went on, Amber figured this could turn out to be a long conversation. When the Claw finished speaking, Amber’s thoughts surrounded what she had said. Well, obviously she won’t kill them. It’s a public place, and I’m sure she won’t risk going to the pound… or worse, she added on a second thought.
Idly Amber slowly tucked her paws under her chest and lied down in the nearby shade facing the wolf. Confusion passed her eyes as she saw a flicker of excitement in her eyes, but it quickly vanished. “You are?” She inquired. She simply replied, “Name’s Amber.” Once introductions were finished, she offered the wolf some places for entertainment. “If you’re bored you could go play on one of the games around here. If not, there’s always fishing down at the pier.”

Trinell thumped her tail beside her lightly, pleased the feline hadn't decided to leave, and smiled when she said her name. Amber. It suited her. When she mentioned playing games and fishing Trinell paused, calmly thinking about checking one of them out. It would be fun, she had to admit. And it would pass the time by until she could go home and sleep... Then she blinked. Wait a minute! Did Amber know she was a Shifter too? Trinell had figured that Amber was either a Shifter or just a regular cat, although her being a regular cat would make her pretty brave. Most cats, as far as Trinell knew, wouldn't just calmly walk up to a canine of any sort and talk with them as if they were another of their own. "Are you a Shifter?" She asked suddenly, not caring if she was blunt. She didn't like to beat around the bushes; it annoyed her. "What you said about the games made me curious." She added. She didn't want to come across like she was completely ill-mannered. She had been raised to be polite, she just saw it as an annoyance most of the time.

Amber studied the creature closely, still determined to find out what it was doing here. Slowly the canine blinked, and stared at her. Blinking in response, she patiently waited until she was ready to talk. “Are you a Shifter?” She asked suddenly out of the blue. Curiously, Amber tilted her head in question. How could she have found out so fast? Ah well, people could say the same with me. She closed her eyes for a moment to bask in her own amusement. After a moment she added, “What you said about the games made me curious.”
Amber thought about what she said and how she broke the ice. What if she hadn’t been a shifter? She could’ve caused suspicions rise. Lucky for her I am like her. Amber, unlike other animals and kids around here, was raised to be respectful, honest, and polite, and in truth she was. Only sometimes, a voice in the back of her head corrected her. I have a voice… in my head. I must be losing it. Amber realized that her guest had been waiting for her to answer. Sighing, she replied half-heartedly, “Actually yes I am, but you shouldn’t go around asking. There are many animals here that would instantly become suspicious and that would rise to accusations.”

Trinell watched Amber patiently as she thought. She looked mildly amused by something Trinell had said, her head tilted slightly to the side and her eyes closed. Then she opened them again and answered her question. A smile pulled Trinell's lips back, not showing any teeth, and she followed Amber's earlier example and laid down. She tucked one of her front paws against her chest, the other stretched out, and leaned on her side slightly, her hind legs stretched comfortably. "Ah. Okay. I'll be a bit more discreet about it then; try to get all the facts I can before I do anything, ya know?" She replied, perfectly relaxed. She said nothing for a moment, then spoke again. "I could make you mad with this and we could never talk again, depending on your answer, but are you a part of the Thieves? Or are you neutral? I've met a couple who weren't in either of the Guilds." She asked. It was always good to know if the one you were talking to was friend or foe. Amber seemed nice enough, so Trinell didn't think she was a part of the Assassins but... Looks can be decieving, She thought ruefully. She shook her head to ride herself of the thought then smiled at Amber. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I'm being nosy and for that I apologize. Some old habits just die hard," She said, chuckling slightly at the end.

Amber studied her actions while she patiently waited for her company to get comfortable. Answering her short question, Amber simply nodded. She knew what Trinell was doing. She was trying to get as much knowledge as she could before she moved on, just like herself. She was just about to ask about where their topic lead to, but a abrupt interruption distracted her. Amber’s ears were pricked and listening to the strange cry she heard just a moment before. A strange tingling passed through her whiskers. Someone was spying in on their discussion.
Ignoring the stare she was receiving from Trinell, she casually slid her gaze from the now confused wolf, for any signs, of spies. Eventually the sensation disappeared and after a moment of hesitation, she finally answered, “Sorry. I’m sure…” She trailed off, unsure how to word it. “Never mind. About the guilds though…” In the ends she decided to ignore it and pretend she didn’t know anything. Secretly though, she was now standing tall and alert.
Amber’s wise thoughtful gaze met Trinell’s and she continued as if nothing happened, “Honestly, I have no clue what you’re talking about. Care to explain more?” Eyes narrowing slightly, she made a vain attempt to dig up any information about ‘guilds’ she learned over the years. She didn’t know any guilds, but if anything close she either talking about gangs, groups of kids, or cliques.

Trinell stiffened momentarily as she heard an odd sound -a cry maybe?- from a little ways away. She listened for a few moments longer then dismissed it, having not heard anything. Glancing at Amber, she quirked an eyebrow skeptically. 'What's she doing?', she thought. She shook that off, too. What did it really matter? She didn't answer for a few moments when Amber asked her to explain the guilds more, trying to figure out how to phrase what she wanted to say. "Well.... There are two guilds that I know of. The Thieves and the Assassins. The police call them gangs, but we're really not. We're not unorganized and nowhere near as vulgar and stupid as actual gangs. The Thieves.... Well, they're basically the nicer of the two guilds. They don't kill people unless it's to save their own hides. The Ass...assins, though, live up to their name. They like to kill, especially if they get paid good for it." She explained, hoping it would help Amber understand a bit better. 'I hope to God she's not one of the Asses... I don't wanna fight right now!' She pouted at the thought, not liking it at all. "But yeah! What I'm gonna tell you, once again depending on your opinion, can either make us good friends or terrible enemies." Her voice dropped to a low whisper and she leaned slightly closer to Amber, her eyes wary for anyone who was near. "I'm on the Thieves' Guild." She pulled back to a safe distance just out of Amber's reach. She had no desire to get her nose sliced open. Carefully, she gauged Amber's reaction.

As Trinell started explaining the guilds in detail, Amber quickly caught on. She soon realized that these were the gangs that she had known for most of her life. Although she never intended to join a gang, Amber realized she might as well know this. It could be useful in the later future, she added in her head. Once Trinell paused to let her think, she summarized what she learned. So there are two gangs, the Thieves and the Assassins. Thieves are nicer, but she didn’t say they were nice. And the Assassins… not good at all.
Nobody deserves to die no matter what they did. Amber angrily thought, unconsciously brining down the respect she already had for the gangs. Amber snapped out of her mind as she realized that Trinell was leaning down towards her. Wondering what she was doing, she pulled her ears back just slightly. Luck was on her side though as her guest leaned down and whispered, “I’m on the Thieves’ Guild.”
Quickly the wolf leaned back to her original position, but that didn’t bother Amber. Her mind wrapped around the thought that she was talking to one of the gang members right now. Amber hesitated. Would she do anything for telling her? Maybe she only said the Thieves are nicer because she is one of them. What if they are the murderers? Various thoughts raced through her head, but eventually her curious nature won the better of her.
Amber excitedly questioned this gang member while she could. “What’s it like? To be in the Thieves? Are the Assassins always killing people? Do they do it for fun or just for money? Are there nice people in there? How many of the members are shape shifters?” Amber fired question after question. Amber didn’t even realize that she had moved closer and was now sitting almost next to the box Trinell was laying on.
