"This is a horrible idea, Emily." The leopard's aged voice scolded her host as the girl in question climbed higher up the tree. "You'll kill us both doing this, y'know. Who knows what's in there?" At this, out loud and outside of her head, the girl laughed. The idea of a leopard being afraid of anything in a city was beyond her, but somehow the nervous emotion flowing off her other half was more than enough to get the teenage girl laughing out loud.
"Oh please," Again, out loud. "anything in there is probably a quarter our size at best. Since when were we afraid of rats?" Her words were big, but the girl had paused in her accending climb, sittle sadle-style on a thick branch near the broken window. She peered in cautiously, and hesitated long enough to sit back and catch her breath. "Weren't you the one suggesting I needed to get out of the house more anyway?" This earned a groan from her inner cat, who was hardly impressed.
"Ten times and again, ten times. I swear to our mother's grave I will never, ever, let you talk to a boy -ever- again. See how you like I dateless life, hm?"
"....you wouldn't." In her mind, Emily stood gawking at her leopard, the cat grinning like a cheshire a few feet away. The expanse of white in the girl's mind was unsettling at best, not that anyone else could see it. Realization hit, and she crossed her arms. "You're a right bitch, you know that?"
"That's a dog, dearest. I a right witch, at best." Ooh, good comeback from spots.
"That'd be insulting witches, hairball." Evenly tied. This match could go anywhere!
"Oh, hairball. Creative and unique." And the game's won by the girl with the spotted coat!
Meanwhile, in the real world, Emily sat in her human form silently, zoning out. Let's see what's going on, hm? Today Em had dressed herself in some dark but leg-fadded jeans, bootcut. She wore a dark red tank-top, with a button-up black dress shirt overtop. Currently, her feet were covered with a pair of black and white checkered convers, with speckled black and red socks. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail, perky and cute despite the otherwise punk appearance.
The plan for the day had been to check out the old lighthouse off the beachfront. It was later into the evening now, the sun just getting ready to set, and finally she'd found herself the perfect way in. Of course that perfect way in involved a climb where people could see her. So human, she had to be, otherwise, she'd be caught red-pawwed. Unfortunatly, she'd underestimated her climbing abilities as a girl... and it had taken her a good half hour to get to a high branch, with Topaz complaining the entire way.
God knows being a shifter with dissociative identity disorder sucked balls.

"Oh my..." Kaesus let out a shrill squeak as his foot came into contact with the building. His chubby face scrunched into an expression of pain as his foot began to throb. He'd surely have to apply ice to it later, once he cooled off after the recent dispute he had just been in with Imogene. God did he feel horrible about it; she had never been anything but kind to him and he had treated her with abuse some of the times, no longer being able to subdue the hate that was building up inside of him from constant bullying. Sighing, he flopped down into an sitting position and managed to allow the sun to drape his back in warmth. Reaching into his jacket pocket, he wrapped his fingers around the desired object as his dangles clanged against one another: his battered black iPod Nano which held many of his favorite songs. Casually fitting the headphones into his ears he turned it on and instantly cringed as music blared out. Coming Undone by Korn..., he thought while chuckling as his narrowly managed to avoid hitting his head against the lighthouse walls just as his foot had moments ago. Pressing the next button, he soon came to a song he liked greatly: Heavens not Enough by Steve Conte. "I'll fly away," he yelled out, his voice cracking and nearly incapable of carrying a proper musical tune. But he didn't care. He'd sit here and enjoy his music, the heat, and everything. Maybe later on he'd fly somewhere, the old farm if he left soon enough. Nodding to himself, he closed his eyes and leaned backward. He'd enjoy the moment and contemplate what he would say to Imogene when he returned home. He'd sincerely apologize and they'd both cry; he already knew how it would end. Good. That word swarmed his mind as he slowly drifted off into sleep..
Notes: Sorry its so short. I just had to get it finished. It sucks, too, I know. D8 -weeps silently in corner- I promise my posts will improve as the thread goes on!
