Rebekah walked along the dock, staring into the deep blue water, hands in the pockets of her purple coat. The air around her lay heavy and chilled; the fog was especially thick today. Around her, calls rang out from different docks and ships around the harbor: "Toss the ro'! Toss i' 'ere!" The dark-haired girl quickened her pace and pulled up her hood at the sound of one distinct voice.
"Romano!"
She groaned. "I have a first name, you know," Once again, Jet tried to rope her in. "Don't even try, 'cuz I don't have any money on me anyway," She walked away before the man could get angry, and nearly bumped straight into an older teen. "Er, sorry ---" Crap.

Markus watched the flurry of activity on the docks from a safe enough distance that he was not run over by their routine. He could never understand how the people who worked on the ships knew what each term meant, or how they each did their own jobs without questioning who was doing what. It was so...organized.
He absently walked along the boardwalks of the dock, blue eyes gazing out to sea. He wondered how many ships were out there....? How many people were on those ships. What were they doing? Was there a storm and they were trying to keep the boat from capsizing, or was all quiet and they were sleeping under the dark sky, lit by the moon and millions of stars, more stars than were ever visible from the city-
"Whoa!" Mark exclaimed suddenly, halting in his tracks in order to avoid slamming into another teenager. She mumbled an apology under her breath. It almost seemed like she was very embarassed.
"Ah! It's fine, really!" Markus replied, offering her a smile. "I should've been watching my step, too. Are you alright?"
((I hope that it's alright if I jump in with you, rather than making a new thread.))

ooc: nah, it's fine.
ic: Rebekah felt herself blushing, the heat rising to her cheeks. "Yes, I'm alright," she replied breathlessly. "You?" Of course he was, but she felt bad for runnign into him like that. Not to mention he was so cute ... Jeez, she thought, next thing you know I'll be turning to Jell-o, and no one wants that, do we? "So," she mused in attempt to strike up something of a conversation, "What brings you here? Er, to the docks?"

The girl's face turned a bit red, and Mark felt a light dusting of blush tint his own features as well. "Yes, I'm alright," she replied, seemingly short on breath. "You?"
"I'm all good," he laughed, stepping back to allow her a bit more room, grinning. "The docks? I come to the docks when I need time to think. I like being around all this activity so that I'm not alone, but no one really pays me much attention, so I get the time that I need. It's an interesting place to come and clear your head. What about yourself?"

"Similar," she shrugged. "Gives me time to think, too, away from my siblings,"Rebekah nodded. Hm ... he seemed familiar, where had she seen him before? "Hey, do I know you from somewhere?" she asked slowly. She just couldn't put her finger on it. It was almost like deja vu, although she was positive that she'd never seen him before ... it was odd. Maybe it was just her imagination, but still ...
ooc: sorry for the short post ;]

((It's perfectly fine!))
Mark tited his head, stroking an invisible beard with his fingers. "Really now? Actually, you look kind of familiar, too. Maybe we're in the same class at school? Or it could be that we've just seen each other around." Hmm. Really, she DID look awfully familiar. He studied her again, trying to place her features, before realizing that he was staring at her. With a sudden flush, he looked away. "We should hang out sometime."

"Maybe," she nodded, a bit skeptical. "Yeah, maybe that's it," She still wasn't entirely sure, but then again, she could've seen him anywhere. It really wasn't a big deal, so why did she feel like it was?
ooc: another short post ... but I was thinking maybe she could've met him in shifted form, him in shifted form, etc... what do you think?

((Sorry for the inactivity. About your idea: would you like me to have Mark hurry off somewhere, then shift, and run back into Rebekah?))
