Mack felt eyes on him as he stood on the sidewalk. His body, made of mostly muscle was leaned against a wall. He towered over the normal sized man, makeing him seem like an intimidating figure.
Oh, how looks fool the simple minded. He thought to himself with a smirk. He could hurt your really bad, maybe even kill you, but the fact that he wouldn't without a really good reason was what got most people. His blue eyes scanned over the people that passed. Today was going to be another one of those days. He could feel it.
With a sigh he tore his body away from the wall and started walking down the sidewalk. His tall, muscular body made him stick out but he didn't mind. He didn't mess with anybody unless they messed with him. Thats just the way he was, and usually no one did mess with him. He side stepped a small child that had gotten loose from his mother and stopped him before he got flattened by a car in the street. The fear of both almost getting flattened and having a stranger hold them just above the sidewalk by a arm made the child start to cry.
"It's ok, child." He said putting him down on his feet. "Go to you parent and stay there." He said giving him a soft nudge on his back. The child ran off to a woman sobbing, she gave Mack an evil look as he straightened up from a crouching position. He shrugged his shoulders. "Damned if I do, damned if I don't. He mumbled and it was true. If he wouldn't have saved the kid he would have felt bad and probably felt like it was his fault. Whats a guy to do these days?
He walked into a little coffee shop and sat at a booth, where he picked up a menu only half interested. When the waitress came, looking like she would rather be anywhere else in the world, he ordered a cup of coffee. "Smile, it can't be that bad." He said as he gave the menu back to her. She smiled like a chesire cat, taking the menu and walked away. He laughed at himself and reclined back in the seat. Oh yeah. It's gonna be one of those days... He thought to himself with a smile, half closing his eyes.

The waitress came back with a cup with hot coffee in it. He smiled up at her as she asked if he wanted any cream and sugar. "I need all the sweetness I can get!" He said grabbing three packs of sugar off the tray she had in her hand. He smiled at her and she walked away. A teenager caught his ear as she made a comment about him looking like a gorilla.
He put the sugar in his coffee and stirred it until he was satisfied that the sugar had completly melted. He tapped the spoon against the rim of the coffee cup and sat it down on a napkin. "Teens. They'll literaly talk behind your back before even speaking to you." He said loud enough for the girl to hear. His voice held a hint of amusment in it. He took a drink of coffee and replaced the cup on the table. Turning around to face the girl he said "By the way sweetie, you don't look half normal yourself." With a smile he cocked his head to the side so that he saw her only at an angle.
The girl had books scattered on the table. More than likely she was studieing or doing a paper. He remembered his highschool years... Barely passing everything because he would go to school half awake. Having two jobs and taking care of family and everything else was doing a toll on him.
He snapped back to reality. He looked at the young girl and waited for an answer.

ooc: mind if I post?
ic: "The guy's a giant," Rebekah Romano muttered to herself, voice barely audible. She crouched, half-hidden, on the terrace above the coffee shoppe. The perfect spot to see without being seen .. especially if you were a bird. If only her parents knew how she actually spent her time when she was bored. Hah.
The raven shifter spotted at least one remotely interesting goings-on; she flew down to the concrete below to view the spectacle. "You know," she cawed, "there are three ways to slice a pinapple." The glory of it was that they couldn't understand her, at all. Even if they could, they'd think her a freak - for her voicing her great-grandma's old saying, for the most part. Her beady eyes spotted the glass door swinging carelessly open, and she stepped in.
Jeez, I forgot to snack before heading out ... Unlike her fowl peers, chowing down on a roach didn't seem that appetizing. The raven headed for the counter, where a fresh pot of coffee was in the process of being warmed up.

Mack watched as the teen switched positions. His eye caught to the raven as it flew up to the counter. Shifter more than likely but he didn't say anything. Way too many people thought him strange already. He wished he would have gotten something to eat now. His stomach growled as he looked at the bird and the wild dog bowed up inside him.
"Can't say that I do! But how rude of it to follow me in without a 'Hello' or anything." He smiled at the young girl. She still hadn't said her name, then again neither had he. He reached back and took another swig of his coffee.
"I myself am more of a dog person. German Shephards to be exact. They are big and strong, but can be big teddy bears if you know how to handle them." He smiled. He wondered if the girl across from him was a shifter and if she was giving him a hint as to what she was. Then again he had also givin her the hint. Never been a big fan of flieing... I'm too big, as you have already noticed, for wings too. He chuckled a little as he visioned him trieing to fly. I think I would rather leave my feet firmly on the ground thank you.
His blue eyes sparkled as they swapped what he thought to be hints. He wasn't all that sure yet. The names Mack by the way. He added his eyes scanning the restraunt for the raven.

Rebekah couldn't help but grin at the thought of the guy -- Mack, apparently -- trying to fly. Now that would be entertainment. She hurried off the counter after snagging a cookie, to the dismay of the waitress. She didn't mean to eavesdrop, but it just kind of happened when you were undetected by the majority of the population. Shifters could probably tell what she was, but other than that ...
Now for the real reason she was here. She'd realized that she wasn't the only one who could shapeshift, and wanted to know more. Such was her nature, for the most part. A quiet curiousity. The coffee shop was a good place to start, since it was the hub of the city. But maybe she should save that for the night time, because birds didn't just randomly fly into coffee shops without good reason. Jeez, I'm stupid, she chided herself.

Mack fiddled with his dog tags a bit before putting tham back under his shirt. What in the world was that shifter thinking? The bird he meant. Why did it come in here in broad daylight in a shifted form? Expesscialy when there was no where to hide from the waitress s/he had just angered. That was kind of funny actually, now that he thought about it. He wondered if he should catch the poor thing... A smirk came across his face. That would be easy enough...
He dragged himself back to the teen sitting before him. "Well, I must admit, trying to imagine you flying anywhere is a bit of a funny thought indeed. Nice to meet you though, Mack. I'm Caela." He chuckled a little as she agreed with him. He imagined many of the people in this shop would have agreed too.
"Nice to see someone try and see it from my point of veiw." He laugh then pointed to the books infront of her. What are you supposed to be doing, because I know it aint talkin to me right now. He finished the statement and started stretching out his long limbs. Oh, how troublesom they could be! He wouldn't want to change himself anyway, and he knew it.
He drained the rest of the coffee cup and leaned back over the back of his seat scratching his arm revealing his tattoo's that went up it. Since he was scratching his right arm two dragons intertwined with eachother twisted themselfs up and around his big arm. They went to the front part of his chest where one held in its mouth a rose and the other held a skull. It was a really good tattoo, not like the crappy stuff these kids get today like their boyfriends names then they break up two weeks later. Not cool.
Mack raised his head and looked for the waitress. He spotted her behind the counter wiping up some coffee that she had spilt when the crow had so rudly come in and stole the cookie. No need in bothering her for a cup right now...
