She strode down the sidewalk, casusally watching the houses as she passed them. Lynn sighed and let her hand slump in her pocket loosely. Barely in school for a week and I'm already hating it. Her bottom lip jutted as she grimaced. She fought the erge to recall todays math lesson, for fear of dieing from boredom.
Glancing over her shoulder, she saw her grandfather's house, where she had just left from. Lynn normally went for a walk everyday, it was one of the simple things she enjoyed a great deal. The fresh air was a pleasant change from the dusty smell of her new home. Her grimace continued, she cursed herself under her breath quietly, scolding herself for her ungratefulness. When she had needed it, her grandfather had given her a home, and here she was criticizing it.
She continued walking, the shadow of a passing tree darkening her face. Maybe I should go take a look in town, there are still plenty of stores I haven't been in yet.

The white ribbon around Danny's neck fluttered gently as he walked down the sidewalk, a content smile on his face. His eyes examined his surroundings carefully, as though he were trying to memorize the exact layout of the street. A slight breeze blew by, ruffling Danny's bangs and disturbing the ribbon further.
Movement in the boy's perephiral vision caused him to sharply turn, finding himself looking at a girl. Part of him wondered why she was out walking alone - the same part reminded him that he was doing the same time. His smile became a grin. Should he go over and talk to her?
I don't see the harm in it.
With that thought, he crossed the street to approach the girl.

As the sound of stray footsteps approached from a distance Lynn halted and looked to see who it was. A boy wearing an odd expression met her gaze, she pondered wether she should keep walking or stay to greet the stranger. "What's so funny?" She smiled awkwardly, rather embarressed, as she noticed his grin.
Her eyes trailed down to the white ribbon dancing around the boy's neck. Is it too late to keep walking? She smiled at the joking thought. A weak, uneasy feeling sat within her stomach as she looked at him, though she dismissed it quickly. She removed her hand from her pocket and toyed with the rim of it, distantly.

"Nothing really," Danny answered, grin remaining unchanged. He noted that the girl smiled back at him, although rather uncomfortably. "Why do you ask?" He continued to watch her, taking slight amusement in the way he made her nervous. Honestly, people always acted like that; they'd fidget and seem anxious, when he wasn't really going to do anything. Why? Did he frighten them? Are humans really that easily scared?
"My name is Danny, by the way," the teen suddenly said, grin becoming a friendly smile. He crossed his arms behind his back, assuming a more non-threatening pose. There we go. Maybe she'll trust me a bit more now. "What's your name?"

"I don't know," Lynn shrugged, answering his question. She forced her hand to stop fidgeting, and ended with it smoothly at her side. "I'm Lynn," She was glad to see that he had taken a friendlier stance, yet she still felt oddly. She tried her best to mask the clawing feeling. She found herself returning his smile, the cloud around her lifting slightly.
"Do you live around here?" Lynn's eyes hovered around Danny's shoulders, switching between his face. With one hand she lightly swept her dark bangs away from her eyes. As the other teen stood infront of her, she pondered where he had come from, aswell as where he was going.

"I'm Lynn." As soon as he heard those words, Danny tried to commit the name to memory. It would be beneficial to remember her name; after all, they might run into each other again. He re-examined 'Lynn'. She had at least stopped fidigeting, and she even gave him a kind smile. Does this mean she trusts me more now? Was I really the one making her nervous? He fiddled with his ribbon as he thought.
Danny snapped out of his reverie when Lynn asked the question. "Do I - oh, yes. I live down the street." He smiled at her again, waving his hand in the direction of his house. "I'm going to assume you live here too."

A quiet laugh escaped her throat as she saw Danny play with the ribbon around his neck, she had no idea why, but it simply struck her as funny. "So what's with the ribbon?" Lynn tried to make her question sound as innocent as possible, she didn't wish to offend him. Her nervous edge was growing slimmer by the second.
She watched his hand as he motioned, trying to catch the specific house, but without success. He had moved his hand too vaguely, she tried to cover her curiousity. "Um..." Lynn stuttered slightly, "Yea, somewhere around here." She decided to leave him to wonder, as he had left her.
"So, where are you heading?" Lynn asked after a moment of silence, as an attempt at conversation. "I was just out for a walk. It's a nice day." Her tone was welcoming, yet her eyes stayed impassive.

Danny smiled when he heard her give her answer; she did live here, but she was extremely vague as to where. No matter. If I really wanted to know, I could find out. But he didn't care all that much, so he left it alone. And it's not like I gave her much more to go on.
"I'm not really heading anywhere," Danny answered her question, smile as friendly as her tone. "Like you I was just walking. And as for the ribbon..." He twirled the string between his fingers, white fabric bright in the sun. "I noticed that I didn't have any white in my outfit. It's a little habit of mine, that's all."

What an odd habit. She scratch her eyebrow, momentarily closing her one eye. "Well I have my white on, too," Lynn teased, poking the blank shirt under her thin green sweater. She was finding Danny to be interesting, and she had no doubt that he would suprise her yet.
From the corner of her eye she spotted a middle aged woman walking at a leasurely pace towards them. At her side was a black and white border collie, it's tongue lolled to the side. Although they were still roughly a block away, Lynn's breath grew noticably quieter, and while her body was tense she didn't show it. This is silly, it's just a dog. She looked back at Danny, Just let it go by, it probably won't even sniff you. She exaled quietly, trying to clear her anxiousness.

Danny laughed when she indicated her shirt, finding it strangely amusing. He was already beginning to like Lynn; that was good. They might become friends...the dark haired teen constantly craved human company, although he despised the general populations.
Suddenly, he noticed that his new aquaintance had stiffened, looking somewhat fearful. He quirked an eyebrow; was there something bothering her? "Are you alright, my friend?" he inquired, looking to the side to see if he could find the source of her tension. An old lady? That's what she's afraid of? ...no, it must be the dog. He examined the pet with slight interest. "Are you afraid of her dog?"
