Oh, damn, I knew I should have stayed home and did my chores, Dauna thought.
She was frustrated, and a bit confused due to the realization that she was totally loss in this huge building. And now she had to avoid being seen by a couple of kids wandering in and out of it. She was lucky not to be scented or detected yet, none of them came in their shapeshifter forms. Dauna was told to stay away from this place by her friends, but who the hell listened to friends and parents anyway? Wheres the fun in following all the rules?
Staying silent and stealthy she traveled from cell to cell to nervous to travel downstairs and run for the entrance. Plus, she still had a ways to go before she went threw this entire building. Dauna wanted to go down below, where prisoners were kept separated from others, in cold dark places. A perfect place to venture into. Brushing a bit of hair out of her face she tiptoed threw the hall ways, chuckling as she avoided being confronted by a girl who passed her by as she relied on the shadows to conceal her.
"Thank goodness," she muttered under her breath before continuing on.
One hand was placed on the wall, feeling along the chipped paint as she guided herself along. She was thankful for the occasional windows that lighted the way dimly. It only made it easier for herself to keep going without anyone having a clue she was there. Dauna felt pretty slick for a horse shapeshifter.

Pierce flapped his wings and outstretched his claws to land on the ledge of a broken window in the prison. He waddled carefully through the ragged hole in the window, awkward on his stubby legs. He fulttered down to the ground and stood up in a crouch, now in full human form. He cleared his throat, the swirling dust in the air getting into his lungs and irritating his eyes. He ignored it and wandered on. "Why did I come here?" He asked himself. He'd been bored wandering around and just took off, looking around for something to do, and then next thing he knew he'd landed in the prison. He quietly moved around, graceful on his feet as he moved amongst the broken wall benches and split toilet bowls. His eyes remained on the floor, carefully scanning through the debreit and watching his step. His head had been down as he wandered into another stall, this one incredibly dark for there was no broken window to provide minimal light.
He stood at the entrance for only a split second when he'd caught a faint but unusual scent; something other than the scent of Theif. Although he was in human form, his senses were still sharper than a normal human's and he caught the slightest whiff of whatever was in that cell.
He pondered what to do. Call out? Feel around? Attack? But as he carefully broke apart the scent, he knew it wasn't Assassin. But what was it? It smelled of human and...oats?
"Is-is there someone in here?" He whispered into the darkness.

Nope, not at all, your just talking to yourself big boy, she grinned to herself.
Being on the second floor of what use to be the high security prison, she looked down threw the rusty bars installed along the side of the floors. Crouching she looked at the figure, the first one to notice her, must have been top notch in noticing the faintest hint of scents. Crawling along she slowly got a better view of him. He was tall, male, and seemed way older then she was, maybe eighteen or older. Dauna kept the feeling to flee at bay, all she had to do was avoid this guy and he would go away, that was it!
But she had to go downstairs! If she was a little quicker she could have reached it before this shifter showed up. Snorting she crawled along the darkness, keeping herself hidden away as usual in the thick shadows. Come on ole girl, just have to be a little patient, she reassured herself. Dauna kept up her steady pace on her hands and knees, happy about the progress she was making. Taking a small peek at the boy she saw that he was still looking about, trying to see where her scent came from. As she was doing this she accidentally caused her hand to fall on a piece of broken glass.
"OW!" She yelped allowed, sitting on her bottom grimacing.
Biting the end of the sharp piece of glass she jerked it out of her hand. "Stupid glass," she muttered.

Pierce had been listening intently, trying to see if he could sense anyone breathing, swallowing, anything, any sign of life. He’d been focusing so hard that he jumped out of his skin when he heard a girl on the floor scream in pain.
He flopped down to her side on the floor. He could see that her hand had been cut by a piece of glass. ”Are you alright? What were you doing on the floor?”
He did a once over of her, checking to see if she was homeless or something, any explanation as to why she was around here. She was young, maybe 15, 16. Her hair hung over her shoulders and in her face, and on her arm was a shifter tattoo. ”She must be a loner.” He silently concluded.
Looking back to her hand, he took in the condition of the gash. It oozed gooey blood down her hand as she took out the piece of glass with her teeth. ”You really shouldn’t put that in your mouth, it’s probably full of asbestos.” He sighed, stood up, and stuck out his hand. ”Come on, stand up. I’ll get that fixed up.”

"Get your hand away from me, I can take care of myself," she snapped, licking the wound after eying the damage for a moment.
The cut wasn't that deep, and she suffered far worse before. "Even if it has this 'asbestos', I'll think I'll live."
Seeing it wasn't bleeding anymore she opened and close her hand, only a sharp pain was to be noticed, but all and all she was fine. Dauna looked back up at the guy who was kind enough to offer his hand, she cautiously took it with her uninjured one and let him help her up. Cleaning off her skirt she cursed herself for not being more careful.
"Darn it, now I'll have to explain this to my parents," she hissed, looking at her hand again.
She looked around then grinned as she saw no one else noticed her or him. Time to get out of here! "Thanks for the help buddy but I got places to go people to meet!"
Rushing past him she ran down the steps, she still had a chance to look around before someone stopped her. The guy she just met didn't seem like he was going to do anything, his first reaction to Dauna's presence showed her that. Accidentally missing a step and tripping as she hurried along, managing to fall clear on her face on the floor.
"Oh, damn, why the heck am I so clumsy today," she muttered, her face still to the floor.

Pierce started after her as she darted past him but he didn't even need to make a rush because she stopped herself for him. Pierce tried as hard as he could to smuggle the little snickers as he walked over to help her off the floor. "Are you alright?" He said, red-faced with the effort of holding back his laughs. He stuck out his hand once again, sobering a little. "If you want, I can give you a ride. I'm scared that if I let you walk by yourself you might fall into a sewer or something" He joked. "By the way, my name's Pierce. And, uh, you really shouldn't even be on Thief territory, loner." He smiled light-heartedly, waiting to see if she'd accept his offer.

"I'm fine! And I won't fall into a freaking sewer," she growled. "I can travel home by myself. For heaven sake I can turn into a horse, I literary run on horse power."
She got up by herself this time, slapping his hand away. Dauna felt her cheeks burn in embarrassment but was lucky he couldn't tell she was blushing due to her dark tone of skin. She heard his little faint giggles as he traveled down to assist her, but didn't say anything in response. Usually when she got to angry she couldn't control keeping herself in human form. Spitting out a bit of dust that entered her mouth she commenced to brush off her skirt again.
"I swear, I'm surprised I can see my hand in front of my face in this dark area," she then looked over the man again. "Who the hell are you anyway?"

"Haha, good one. Horse power." Pierce chuckled. "But seriously, I'm not a pedophile, I can take you in my car. Besides, are you really planning on riding home on hooves with that hand?" He pointed out. "And if another Thief finds you he probably won't be as nice as me, letting you off the hook like this. Come on, I'll take you in my car, just tell me where I have to go." He said, all traces of his earlier joking gone. "Oh shit." He said as he realized something. He come on wings, not wheels. "Uh, sorry." He said, feeling impolite for swearing in front of her. "Do you live near here? I can at least walk you home. I forgot I didn't bring my car..." He said, hitting himself in the forehead with the heel of his hand. "Derr" He chastised himself under his breath.

"Pedophile, ha!" Dauna chuckled. "I bet I can stomp on you even with a damaged hoof. And what do you mean by Theif?"
Dauna had heard something about gangs around the city, so she automatically used the name 'Theif' and thought of it as a group name rather then the definition of someone stealing stuff. He seemed to be alright, and he was obviously fibbing about the pedophile thing, well maybe we was. He didn't look like a creep. Dauna circled him once, then looked up at his face curiously, her long hair shielding the view of half her face again.
"You don't look like that bad of a guy," she said, then gave a sweet smile. "Your kind of cute."
She paused for a moment, thinking of how she got here in the first place. It was a long way back to her house from here. Her parents must be worried, maybe not, they could think she was out on one of her daily runs.
"And you don't have to watch what you say to me, I already know most cuss words. From the F word to the D word, learned it all from T.V and the internet of course," she told him. "Now all you have to do is show me to the street or a forested area, I can walk alone. Oh, wait, I need to stop at the store too..."

"You might be able to stomp me out but that's only if I let you." He waggled his eyebrows. "What do you mean 'what do you mean by Thief'? You've never heard of the guilds? Thieves and Assassins? The guilds of shifters? I'm in the Thieves guild; Assassins are dirty, rotten little imbiciles. They dilute our race." He snarled. Pierce cleared his throat again and pushed away the fury caused by the thought of Assassins.
"I'm really not that bad of a guy." He smiled. [n]"And, uh, thanks...I think..." [/b] He said embarassedly. She might have been almost six years younger but when it came to girls he wasn't always the smoothest.... "So what if I just don't like swearing in front of younger people? Especially ladies, that's an ungentlemanly thing to do." He said in a polite manor, nodding shortly. "Besides, I don't swear much anyways." His voice taking on a matter-of-fact tone. "And I shall take you to the stoor. I'll even be as nice to buy you some band-aids and then I'll walk you home." He smiled mischeiviously. "I'll even race you, if you're up for it...I don't know if you want to work yourself too hard keeping up with me..." He waggled his eyebrows once again.[/blockquote]
