"I'm sorry, Andrei. Well, my mom and dad are dead too so I understand." Dylan watched as the steaks continued to sizzle quietly to themselves in the pan below him, paying little attention to the kid but hanging off of every word that Trinell spoke. She didn't have parents? His nostrils flared for a half second, in a twitch. He could sympathize, To a point at least. It wasn't the same of course, But he could kind of feel for her, in a way he didn't completely understand. Not that he had any right to complain. His life was fine.
"But still. I take it you're living on your own? Thought so. Well, you've got two choices. You can either live with me or I can take you to an adoption agency and they can put you in a home." WHAT? He nearly turned on the spot to stare at her, but he opted against it. She was taking him in? Great. Super! He sighed to himself, Pulling off his cap and running a hand through his hair with a few silent deeper breaths. Okay, he was over reacting. Remember the part where he /didn't/ get overly emotionally attached? Damn this kid. But he'd win in the end, Oh yes, he'd win.. He smirked a little darkly to himself, flicking his wrist and throwing his checkered hat over to the island behind him.
He was greatful when the kid finally went and sat down at the other side of the room. Not that he wouldn't be able to hear them, and in a way he kind of hoped that he did. He was staking his claim here, he was here first. The pip squeek was going to have to deal with that. His smirk turned to a softer grin, as he finally managed to regain a little bit of sanity, what with Trinell walking over next to him and all. He ignored the short exchange between the two, his breath hitching in his throat for a split second as Trinell pressed against his back, looking over his shoulder.
Ah, Blackbelt or not, he was going to have problems keeping his hands to himself now. What was this, some kind of personal record? But hey, the suffering was worth it if it worked and she stayed. Well that was the argument he had to believe in order to survive this long, of course his body rejected it with every fiber of it's being. He moved his perfect face to the side, enough that he could see her eyes from the corner of his, a grin stuck on his face.
"Ahhh.. I haven't had steak in so long. Man, this smells so good Dylan. Thank you, I mean it. I can't remember the last time someone cooked for me. I've been cooking my own food for so long." His eyes drooped partially shut as she wrapped her arms around him, somehow relaxed by the pressure, Contradicting the confident look that still spread over his lips. He shrugged gently, warding off the thanks and turning his head more so she could look at his face while he spoke.
"You don't have to thank me." He said, smoothly but softly, sincere. That's when his grin returned in full force, Old Dylan kicking back in as he forgot about the kid who was probably staring at them from the table. Not that he cared. "Although, I'm sure there's plenty you could do to show that thanks." He winked, leaving his statement to hang in the air while he turned back to the steaks, which were by now perfect. Usually by now his mouth would be watering at the scent of the food, like the guy he was. But he was savoring the feeling of those strong but lean looking arms around his waist much more.
Taking both steaks off the pan, he stuck them on their plates. They should probably rest, they were way too hot. His stomach grumbled a little despite that, even though neither of these were for him. The moment they were out of the pan, he had flipped the other two inside. Sighing lightly, he nodded at the plates. "One for you, one for the kid."

"You don't have to thank me," Said Dylan smoothly, Trinell smiling against his back once more. She didn't feel like moving yet, honestly. Dylan was just so comfy. He wasn't built like Djakael was, crazy tall with a deceiving amount of muscle mass, but he had a fairly strong back from what she could feel through his shirt. And a strong stomach too, if her hands weren't lying. "Although, I'm sure there's plenty you could do to show that thanks." He added slyly after a moment, Trinell wholly unable to hold in her laughter as she turned her face to press it into his back, her shoulders shaking with her effort not to laugh out loud.
Dylan was amazing! She heard the steaks getting dropped onto plates and set on the counter and, after tightening her grip on Dylan's waist for a second, she released him and grabbed the plates. "One for you, one for the kid." He said, Trinell smiling at him brightly. She grabbed both of the plates and paused next to Dylan.
"Don't move," She said and she leaned up on her tip-toes only to press her lips against his cheek for a moment, her glowing emerald eyes hidden behind their respective lids.
Grinning widely, she pulled back from Dylan and sauntered past him towards Andrei. She set the plates down in front of two chairs, one before Andrei and the other before her chosen seat. "Tell Dylan thanks and eat up, Andrei." She said as she sat down, her mouth watering at the scent of the steaks. Andrei scowled at her for a moment before begrudgingly turning his head to stare at him. "Thanks, Dylan." He grumbled.
Trinell nodded, pleased, and cut off a chunk of her steak. As soon as it landed on her tongue, she almost moaned. It was just soooooo goooooooood. She took her time chewing the piece of meat, savoring the pure deliciousness of it, and hummed with pleasure after she swallowed. "Oh, my God, Dylan. This is amazing! I haven't had steak this good in forever!" She purred, her eyes closed and her tongue licking the leftover juices off her lips. She hummed as she took another piece of steak, and kept humming as she kept eating.

Turning he leaned back against the counter again as Trinell drifted away, grabbing the plates. His own grin flashed back in response to the gleaming smile she directed at him. "Don't move." He raised an eyebrow at her as she leaned up on her tip toes, still balancing both plates. At the sweet touch, his cheeks burned a little, not noticeably, his heart fluttering as his grin softened. Woah. For a second it felt like his entire world was shaking. He blinked his long lashed eyes as she pulled away just as quickly, walking over to the kid with their meal.
His hand drifted upwards towards his cheek, rubbing the skin gently. To think that had been the same cheek that, until not very long ago, had a red handprint painted onto it. He enjoyed this sensation much, /much/ more. As the kid turned his glare at him with a quiet thanks, he nodded, his eyes drifting away to stare at Trinell while she started to scarf down her food. Wow. His bright blue eyes gleamed. Their first kiss. The most amazing part of it all was he wasn't the one to make the first move on it. Okay, well maybe he had implied it. But he wasn't ruining this for himself.
"Oh, my god, Dylan. This is amazing! I haven't had steak this good in forever!" He forced his grin down, replacing it with a proud kind of smile as he was forced to turn back to the stove, flipping the remaining two steaks as they sizzled angrily. Okay so he couldn't take much credit for these, but he'd accept it anyways. "Thanks." he called over his shoulder, still smiling too himself. Okay he was being redundant but Wow. His hand once again raised to his face, smiling a little wider as he dropped it. Who knew a kiss to the cheek could feel so good. '/Andrei/ isn't getting any of that.' He thought smugly to himself, Waiting patiently for his food.
He wasn't going to settle for being the Kiss-ee and not the Kiss-er next time. He'd catch her off guard, when the kid wasn't around. Or something to that nature. The stupid seductive side of his brain kicked into gear, as the barrier he'd placed over it came crashing down. Afterall, boy's were only after one thing, weren't they. Well he'd always considered himself that simple, at least. Really, what more was there to go after? Real relationships were messy, and he always kept himself detached from those kind of things as is. First names, excessive details.. All just little things that weren't all that important. You got information for an angle, you used that angle. Until it didn't work anymore, and you let them go. Not that letting people go was difficult, seeing as they were the ones to break it off with him first, usually. Was it weird that his personal rules felt upsidedown right now?
Finally, his steak was done. He'd barely flipped them both onto a third plate as he sauntered over to the small table where Trinell and Andrei sat. He cast a smug kind of look over at Andrei, before Trinell had looked up. "Lots of it, right?" He smiled lightly, pushing one of the two pieces of meat on his plate onto Trinell's before walking back over to the island without giving either of them the chance to say anything in between. Setting his plate down on the countertop, he dove in. If Andrei was planning on staying he was going to have to buy a third chair for that table, or just a bigger table. He mused on that for a moment through his facefull of beef, swallowing before cutting off another chunk and stuffing it in his mouth.
"So, Trinell." He started between another forkfull, raising his eyebrow inquisitively. "How long you been in Shelpey?" Okay, pointless question. But he was attempting to make conversation. He was nearly done his meal by now, he hadn't really noticed how fast he'd been shoveling it in. He guessed he hadn't had much food today though, And he was barely noticing himself eat as he looked at the girl sitting at his table. Time flies.

Trinell didn't say anything as she watched Dylan raise his hand to his cheek, still cooking his steaks. She smirked around her fork, having just had shoved another piece of meat into her mouth. No doubt he hadn't expected that one. Her smirk grew as she pulled the fork from between her lips and she began chewing the steak. She swallowed it quickly, only to look down at her plate and cut off another piece. She heard Dylan plop his steaks onto a plate and begin walking over.
She glanced at him for a second before returning her attention to her steak. He paused beside her and a plate with two steaks filled half of her vision just long enough for one of the steaks to be slid onto her plate. Her head jerked up instantly, her eyes wide as they stared at Dylan's quickly retreating back. She opened and closed her mouth a few times, like a fish, unable to speak.
"Lots of it, right?" He said with a smile. Trinell gaped at him. Sure, she was happy as hell that she was getting two steaks but still. What about Dylan? She didn't get a chance to say anything as Dylan spoke once more. "So, Trinell." He paused to eat a piece of steak. "How long have you been in Shelpey?"
Okay. Trinell really hadn't expected that question. But she answered him nonetheless, after she finished her piece of steak. "Well, I was born here but I moved away when I was nine. I came back a couple of years ago, when I was 15 I think? I can't remember exactly." She shrugged and took another bite. She was eating faster than she realized. She was already on the second steak and, whoo boy, it was disappearing fast. "Honestly, I missed it here. I like the forests and places like that but still. I grew up here in Shelpey, it's my home." She smiled at him brightly. "What about you Dylan?"

Dylan was finished his steak by the time Trinell was smiling over at him, digging in to her second. "Well, I was born here but I moved away when I was nine. I came back a couple years ago, when I was 15 I think? I can't remember." He nodded, turning to lay his plate down sloppily into the sink before turning back to lean his elbows against the counter in the center. Made sense, she certainly hadn't learned Russian around here. And that answered one question, 17. Underage. Meh. He supposed he was too, Didn't phase him all that much.
"What about you Dylan?" He shrugged, watching her with an amused expression as she kept at her food at an astonishing rate. Did he want to go into detail? He supposed it couldn't hurt. He rubbed a hand through his messy brown hair, a few grains of sand falling down into the counter. Alright, shower later was probably a good idea. And maybe a change of clothes while he was at it. Then again it was getting late, he sposed he could just change into what he slept in. Hmm.
He finally returned to the question, casting back an equal smile. He wouldn't be surprised if his face stuck that way one of these days, he couldn't help it if it was a natural thing, and one of his best qualities if he said so himself. "I haven't been here that long." He started, shuffling a little in his place against the cold marble counter. "Almost half a year I guess. My dad's in congress, mom's a lawyer. They weren't around much so I decided I'd get my own place. Not my ideal place, but hey. Ocean's nice." He finished with another shrug, breaking away from the steady stream of pointless words. He hadn't meant to go on so much, at least about the parents thing. At least she'd know why a 17 year old boy was off living alone.
His observant eyes stared over at the kid momentarily, as he let the two finish up eatting. Looked like he really was getting another table, which was too bad, he really did like that one. But knowing him he'd invite Trinell over to stay if she was going to put up with him like this, And sadly that was going to include the brat at this rate. Jelousy leaked into his eyes, his face falling from his smile to a pout in frusteration. He really didn't hate kids, even if he did dislike him. But he was already starting to hate this one. Chicks digged cute and fuzzy he supposed, the kid had that down. Well played. Even if he couldn't control the kitten thing. Then again.. His grin returned in an instant, pushing up off the counter and smirking at the kid before looking back to Trinell. Check Mate.
He had almost completely forgot, what with all the distractions. He had a card he could play, his own piece to counteract. Trinell liked kittens, huh? Well then she was in luck. He didn't even take the time to consider his options, he was his normal stupid self like always when it came to his target of the moment. It wasn't even seconds before he had shifted, into his large black and white spotted glory. Bunching his muscled he jumped up onto the island in a single well placed leap, without makeing the slightest noise. His strong muscled tail swung out behind him, his mouth curling up in a funny kind of toothy grin, his fangs gleaming white. Oh yeah, the kid couldn't beat this.
His bright blue eyes gleamed as he layed himself down, Resting his head down over his legs with one paw crossed over the other, hanging off the side of the table. Still grinning, he wasn't sure if he should be looking at Trinell, or the kid. He hoped he scared the crap outta him. Was that cruel? He didn't think so. He decided on the previous, waiting for Trinell to notice as his fluffy looking tail twitched back and forth off the back of the counter.

Trinell listened to Dylan speak as she worked on finishing her last steak, already halfway through with it thanks to her ability to eat quickly. It came with the life. If you lived out in the forest you couldn't sit around and take your time to eat. You had to scarf it all down or risk it being taken by a bigger, larger predator.
A congressman and a lawyer, eh? That explained the house. Thought Trinell with a grin, her eyes amused. With parents like that it had to be easy to afford a home like this. And it also explained why no one else was here.
"I'm sorry you don't see your parents often, Dylan," She said after he had finished explaining everything. She meant it, too. She would willingly give anything to be able to see her father alive and well just one more time. She'd never gotten to say goodbye to him. Just like she'd never gotten to say goodbye to her mom. She bowed her head slightly, just enough to hide her eyes, and silently finished off her food while collecting herself.
She looked up only to blink in surprise as she saw a massive snow leopard laying comfortably on the island, his huge paws crossed and large head resting on them. She could see a long, fluffy tail swishing lazily behind him.
Eyes wide in awe, Trinell slowly rose to her feet and made her way over to who she figured to be Dylan. She failed to notice Andrei's shocked and slightly fearful look as he stared at Dylan with wide mahogany eyes.
She stopped before him and slowly reached one hand out to set it on top of his head, her mouth forming a small 'o' as she found it to be soft and thick. Her surprised look quickly turned into a smile though and she ran her hand down his powerful neck and over his long, muscled back.
"Whoa... So you're a snow leopard, huh? I like it." She said, running her hand further down to slowly stroke his tail. She, personally, loved being stroked when she was in wolf form and her tail was probably her favorite place to be stroked. She didn't know if Dylan was the same but she figured that it didn't really matter. She'd find out eventually.
"Well, since you've showed me your Shifted form I'll show you mine, although you already know what I am." She said with a wink and suddenly she was in her wolf form, her ears perked, head high, and tail wagging slowly. Her tongue lolled for a second before she began speaking to Dylan, knowing he could understand her.
"I personally quite like being a wolf. It's so much fun and so many people mistake me for a dog, which makes it easy for me to get around town without raising suspicion." She curled her lip back for a moment in an annoyed gesture, though, and growled, "Although, I do hate being mistake for a dog. We wolves are so much more... what's the word I'm looking for? Oh, that's right, advanced than them. Stupid dogs, they only came about because humans domesticated my ancestors." She snapped, her sharp pearly teeth clapping together with a sharp sound.

His eyes narrowed a little at the kid for a half second before flicking back to Trinell, pleased by the shocked looks on both their faces, but for different reasons. Oh yeah, he deffiantely won this round. But enough of that kind of talk, he was much more interested in the girl then the boy right now. And always would be, for that matter. Her widened eyes as she slowly got to her feet made his toothy grin widen, a low pleasant kind of growl rumbling from his chest. His eyes blinked up at her as she paused in front of him, his head still resting lazily over his strong legs.
A purr escaped on instinct as she rested her hand over his head, his eyes closing as she made her way down. He'd never been petted before, not while he was shifted. He was surprised by how relaxing and nice it felt, No wonder house cats didn't mind so much being kept in like that. "Whoa... So you're a snow leopard, huh? I like it." His grin faded to a twitch of his maw, followed by another growl in responce as he cracked an eye open. Hell yes. Of course she liked him though, was there ever any doubt? His thick tail twitched as she stroked over it, Sensitive as it was. Might look like a very long line of fluff, but it was nothing of the sort.
"Well, since you've showed me your shifted form I'll show you mine, although you already know what I am." He lifted his large spotted head off of his paws, opening both eyes as she shifted before he had the change to blink. Wow, Big wolf. Not quite as big as him, but that suited him fine. His smile returned, or as close as you could get to one when you had a muzzle. He lifted himself effortlessly to his feet, slinking down off the countertop as if it had been nothing but a bump, his tail swinging out behind him.
He sat down in front of her, his big head tilted to the side curiously. An odd look as a cat, looked more as though he was sizing up his prey instead of the innocent look it was supposed to give. His set back ears swivelled to the side, one keeping a keen tab on the boy sitting traumatized at the table while the other stayed pointed at the wolf in front of his paws as she finished her little rant about dogs. Couldn't say he disagreed there. Dogs. Who needed 'em. As she finished with a very angry expression, he got to his paws again, slyly circling around, looking her over, his shoulders rising and falling with each step. Not very shy about it either.
"Not bad." He said cooly as he came around her left side, brushing up against her shoulder with his own. Sitting back down in front of her, he grinned again before yawning very deliberately, his long and very sharp fangs shining in floresant lighting. /That/, was for Andrei. Not that he was paying him much attention. He chuckled a little, His head tilting again as he gazed at Trinell, his blue eyes full of curiosity.
"So you consider yourself Wolf over human?" He asked, his tone matching the curiosity in his expression. To be honest he didn't put much thought into it himself, what he was. He was a shifter. He was born human, so that made him human. That's all he ever really thought about the whole thing. Even if when he was a leopard, things did feel much simpler. Instinct was something he was glad he had in this form, it made things easy. It was interesting hearing Trinell call wolves her ansestors. As much as he considered himself human, he guessed that he was almost just as much Leopard, by that kind of logic. Whatever, he didn't put any more effort into the idea.

Trinell didn't move as Dylan smoothly slid off the counter to sit before her and listen to her speak, his ears trained on specific spots. She also didn't move as he rose to his paws and slowly circled around her, his shoulders almmost rolling with every step he took.
His Shifted form was massive, at least half a foot bigger than hers, but that was to be expected. She was a female wolf and, despite the fact thatshe was larger than normal, Dylan was still a full-grown male snow leopard. He was bound to be bigger than her.
"Not bad." He said as he stopped and sat in front of her once again. Trinell cracked a grin, the look being one that most humans would mistake for hostile. She knew Dylan would see it as amused, mischievous even. "So you consider yourself wolf over human?" He asked aftr a moment.
Trinell paused at this, a curious look coming over her face. Did she consider herself more wolf than human? Yeah, definately.
"Yeah. I'm definately more wolf than human. I was born a Shifter but, according to everyone, I've always acted more like a wolf than a human. Especially when I was little and didn't know howto act like a normal little girl. Heh, for the longest time everyone called me 'Wolf'. If only they could see me now." At this she let out a barking laugh, her teeth flashing involuntarily. She clamped her jaws shut, however, as she heard the slightest of fearful mewls come from Andrei.
Ears instantly up, she turned her head towards Andrei and tilted it to the side. He looked terrified, honestly. She let out a low whine and, rising to her paws, she slowly made her way over to him and stopped beside him, her cold nose just barely touching his arm. He flinched away, scared. Trinell whined again and reached her snout out to nuzzle his arm gently. He relaxed a little and let her gently lick his cheek. She whined lowly once more and Andrei offered her a slight smile, making Trinell perk her ears and wag her tail.
"It's okay," He said softly, one hand reaching out to scratch behind her ears. Trinell pushed her head into his hand, her head tilting to the side, and she wagged her tail faster to show her pleasure. Andrei patted her head a couple of times before going back to eating his steak. He had less than a quarter of it left.
Taill wagging, Trinell turned back to Dylan and padded over to him, her sharp claws clinking on the tile floor. She pressed her shoulder into his chest as she stopped before him and sat close, her tail thumping against the ground slowly.
"Glad you like it," She said. She nudged his head lightly with her snout, her eyes glowing deviously. "You already know I like your forms." She added, making sure to emphasis the 's' in 'forms'. Pressing her shoulder into his, she nudged his head again and, before he could do anything about it, licked his cheek. She instantly gave him a cheeky wolfish grin, a light growling laugh bubbling up out of her throat.

"Yeah. I'm definately more wolf than human." He nodded, listening and genuinely interested. It was true, her wolfish traits did come out a lot when she was human. He couldn't deny that. It made him think. Was he at all cat like when he was human? Oh well. He smiled, keeping his teeth hidden this time as his lips twitched upwards gently.
At the squeek from the kid, he couldn't help but growl a little, his attention changing it's focus as Trinell immediately padded to his side, playing his little charade and whining for his trust. Maybe he was growling a little louder then he wanted to, but this was his territory and he felt threatened. His lip curled up a little in a disatisfied snarl, and he just as suddenly put it away. He had a feeling Trinell wouldn't be very happy if he mauled her new charge. Shame. His nostrils flared for a half second as he watched the show, jelousy washing over him in waves as the boy patted her.
He finally managed to tone down the jelous look as the wolf turned back to him, his smile returning, if only a little watered down. One thing he had to think about was that right now, the kid couldn't understand them. Shifter or not, no human was gonna be able to understand a barking Wolf and quietly roaring cat like him. The thought immediately gave him some of his confidence back, Some of his swagger returning to him, and only bolstering farther as she leaned into him. His loud purr came back with a vengence.
"Glad you like it." His chest rumbled with a louder purr, shaking through his body happily. His head tilted a little into hers as she nudged at him, he smile turning back into a happier grin. "You already know I like your forms." His head tilted to the side down enough that he could see her emerald wolfish eyes, just in time for a very wet lick over his muzzle. His tail lashed back and forth, not because he was angry as it usually meant with cats, but because he was a little frusterated with himself again. She beat him to it again! Now that was just not going to do. Even so his cheeks felt warm under his thick fur. He narrowed his eyes a little at her grin, his own turning up slyly.
He growled low in the back of his throat, A warning. But this wasn't some other cat he was defending his side of the mountain from, this was a very human kind of reaction. He lowered his head for a moment, Squaring his shoulders as his hind quarters shook back and forth, his tail still lashing angrily behind him. His blue eyes twinkled, before his bunched up muscles finally felt relief as he pounced.
He was very careful to keep his claws in as he pushed the large wolf to the ground, pinning her gently but firmly with a huge fur lined paws. A triumpant roar errupted from his maw, echoing through the kitchen, teeth bared in a very smug grin as he stared down at her, pressing his nose against her cheek. Maybe that roar was a little too loud, if there was any neibhours home next door, they probably would have heard it. Meh, Probably would have thought it was Dylan with his music up again. Police knew him by now, what with the sound complaints. But he didn't bother himself with any reasoning like that, his focus was on the wolf underneath him.

Trinell let out a shocked yelp as Dylan scrunched his long body up and, with a low growl, leapt on her and pinned her down, his claws carefully held in but absolutely massive paws holding her down with ease. He purred lowly then and pressed his nose into her cheek in a chaste kiss.
Trinell blinked, her forepaws dangling and her head up to stare at him. She pushed her ears forward curiously and, with a devious wolf grin, licked the bottom of his jaw before shoving her paws into his belly and throwing him off of her. Before he could do anything, she tackled him and draped her body diagonally across his before Shifting back into her human form and wrapping her arms around his thick neck. She rubbed her face against his head, nuzzling behind his ears.
"Gotcha, Dylan." She purred, pressing another kiss behind his ear. Not feeling like being unable to understand him, She Shifted back into her wolf form and thumped her tail against Dylan's side.
"What? Did you get tired of me stealing all the kisses?" She teased, pulling her lithe body across his back so that she curled around his well-muscled form. She pushed her head underneath his, forcing his head up, and turned her head so that she was practically hugging his neck with her own head. "How about I let you get the better one after Andrei falls asleep? Will you be happy then?" She growled softly, her powerful jaws coming together with a quiet clink. She pressed her own well-toned body firmly against his, knowing he would like it even more than she did. She could only wait for when they were back in their human forms.
A faint shiver ran along her body, causing her to wiggle to a second, before she pressed herself firmly against him once more. That would be a fun time.
