I bet we Tigers could change our stripes if we wanted to. >>Kitten<<
Damien seemed slightly bummed when she talked about her parent. Did he not have a mom or dad? Her mom loved all kids, so she'd be all over Damien in a second flat. He was a street kid though, and he seemed happy about it too.
She glanced over her shoulder out the window. The rain was calmer now, at least. The thunder wasn't booming, and she couldn't see in lightening. The storm was moving on it's way.
"Well gosh. I think that just might work! I think I can whip you up a few good ol' scars, maybe then you won't get grounded?"
Kitten blinked twice, her face expressionless. Then, she burst out laughing. "Scars? Do you want my mom to have a heart attack?! She really would have a heart attack, and I'd have to call an ambulance and everything!" Kitten spoke between laughs.
"Ah, it was a nice thought though. Thanks for trying, Damien." Kitten stifled her laughter and spared Damien a smile. He waited patiently for her while she wrung her clothes out, and listened silently while she talked. He was a pretty good mannered kid, even for a fourteen year old.
"Well maybe I am the leader?"
"If I saw you leading me in to battle, I'd probably surrender, Damien. Besides, I can't see you bossing around a bunch of twenty year olds and teenagers. Not a sweet kid like you." Kitten said.
"Who knows?"
"I know. I go to school with a bunch of them, and even I wouldn't be able to handle over four of them!" Kitten laughed. She really wouldn't have been able to handle more than four other teenagers. She just wouldn't. Tiger's were naturally solitary creatures, they didn't live in Prides. She was an exception, but only to one rule; She lived with others. She was a loyal girl, bound to stay with her Guild for life.
"But really, I'm not, but luckily I'm a close friend of the Second in Command, though I have met the leader once or twice. I know how things work well enough. Maybe I can introduce you guys one day, I don't know if they come here that often... at least the higher ups."
Kitten immediately beamed. She had made an awesome friend. He was actually more of a little brother to her now though. He, that's it!
"That'd be awesome, Little Brother!" She smiled. Damien could be her little Brother. Then maybe he wouldn't feel so bad about not having parents. "You're my Little Brother now, Damien. We're family, got that?" She said with a smile and a wink.

DAMiEN Damien grinned as she blinked at him, face wiped of all expression. Suddenly, she burst out laugh at the idea, "Scars? Do you want me mom to have a heart attack? She really would have a heart attack, and I'd have to call an ambulance and everything!" Her laughter echoed through the room, bouncing off the walls filling it with cherishing thoughts. Damien grinned, laughter was his specialty, but wow, hospital eh? He wouldn't hurt her that bad... After a few minutes she finally calmed her breaths, but still huffed a few chuckles here and there, "Ah, it was a nice thought though. Thanks for trying Damien." She quietly giggled and smiled at him. It seemed the humorous sensation was all around today. "If I saw you leading me into battle, I'd probably surrender Damien." Well she certainly had fallen in love with his name it seemed. "Besides, I can't see you bossing around a bunch of twenty year olds and teenagers. Not a sweet kid like you."Eh? So now he's sweet? Damien knew he was funny, not that he was bragging, but everyone laughed at his antics and jokes. That's just how he was, he wanted to make people laugh. Even so, he was sure he could make people frightened. He was a pretty good actor himself... besides, he had a few karate skills behind that. Again the fact that he was a feline with sharp claws could help him against the good half proportion of the animal kingdom. He rolled his eyes at her as she spoke. "I know. I go to school with a bunch of them," And I live on the streets with over half of them, "and even I wouldn't be able to handle over four of them!" She laughed at the thought, maybe of him handling over four of them? That was probably exaggerating... but still, he could handle himself. After her little fit of laughter she pulled herself together to listen to his words. At this new information, she happily grinned down at him, probably for having a good connection with the Thieves. "That'd be awesome Little Brother!" Damien immediately flinched back, not in pain, but rather shock. Little brother? He tilted his head at her, why did she call him that? He wasn't her little brother? Was there something that led her to think that? Or call him that? It was a nice thought, but... "You're my Little Brother now Damien. We're family, got that?" She grinned and winked at him, somehow letting him know it was okay. Damien never really had a family, or one to call family. Ever since he could remember, he had been on the streets, abandoned by the so called 'parents'. Who was he to say things about family? He had always seen kids with families and parents, but he never really saw it like that. He loved his freedom, how no one ever told him not to do something. It was simply him and himself. Even so, it's true that you don't know what you've got until it's gone. Yet it's also true that you don't know what you're missing until it's arrived. Damien lightly smiled, not really in happiness, or in sadness, or in pity. He wasn't sure why he smiled, maybe it was just the thought that she cared? Amber was the closest thing he could call to family, but even so, she wasn't exactly family. Damien lightly shook his head, "Thanks for the thought, but..." He trailed off, unsure how to continue without hurting her feelings. Even though he seemed calm, inwardly his mind was in turmoil, running around through mazes he had not yet been through. Damien pushed it away before it showed on his features, "But I mean, I like my freedom, you know? Well, maybe not... but it's like..."Damien huffed an annoyed sigh and slowly snaked his fingers through his moisturized hair, unsure how to explain it. Scowling he explained, "Well obviously, though I don't know how, you found out that I don't have parents? What I'm saying is that, sure I don't have parents, but I can run around and do what I want and think what I want. No one tells me what to do. But yeah, you have parents, but you can't do what I can do. Maybe to an extent, but not really. I can definitely guarantee that I've seen and experienced more things you have in your life... well, travel and experience and adventure... wise." He lightly grinned at his next words, "Back on that, I'm pretty sure I can handle a few adults and teens in a battle."

Damien seemed a bit shocked at what she had said. She always said weird things though. She was just born a nice, crazy person. She raised a brow at him, and watched him silently while he thought something over.
"Thanks for the thought, but..." Damien looked like he was still trying to think over what to say to her. Her feelings didn't get hurt easily, and she was quite humorous, so pretty much whatever he said wouldn't hurt her feelings very much.
"But I mean, I like my freedom, you know? Well, maybe not... but it's like..." Kitten nodded, she liked freedom too. As soon as she joined a Guild, she had planned to move out of her house with her mother. Live somewhere on her own, even if it was the streets. She could make do of any situation, and she could probably just sleep as a tiger out in a forest or something.
"Well obviously, though I don't know how, you found out that I don't have parents? What I'm saying is that, sure I don't have parents, but I can run around and do what I want and think what I want. No one tells me what to do. But yeah, you have parents, but you can't do what I can do. Maybe to an extent, but not really. I can definitely guarantee that I've seen and experienced more things you have in your life... well, travel and experience and adventure... wise." Damien explained it to her to the best of his extent, it seemed. She had only been joking around for the most part, when saying they could be family, as they weren't really related in Shifter species or in blood.
"I wasn't saying I was gonna be your mom or anything. Just a sister, ya know, like a close friend, but better? Someone to watch your back when you need it, I guess. And I doubt that you've been more places than me, I went to Africa when I was seven." Kitten said with a classic smile and a laugh, still passing the conversation off as nothing important. Her clothes were only slightly damp now, and the rain had faded to a soft, even pattering against the roof.
"Back on that, I'm pretty sure I can handle a few adults and teens in a battle." Damien told her confidently.
"Oh, is that so? You think you could handle a Tiger one on one?" Kitten said with a smirk type smile, though it was clearly a joke. Kitten never really fought anyone, but she did expect to have to fight in her Guild every once and a while.
"And once I join the Thieves, I won't live with my mom anymore. I didn't tell her, but I'm setting out once I join, to live a life of semi-solitude. No family around, and just my strange gathering of Shifters, Thieves. Who knows? I might even find another Tiger besides my mom out there." She said, a light tone, and she winked at the last sentence. She wouldn't say it, but she did want to meet more tigers. She also wanted to meet guys, but that was definitely not a Topic to discuss with another Guy.

DAMiEN Kitten stated kindly, "I wasn't saying I was gonna' be your mom or anything. Just a sister, ya know, like a close friend, but better?" Damien nodded, comprehension clear on his face, "Someone to watch your back when you need it, I guess. And I doubt that you've been more places than me," Damien grinned and raised his eyebrows at this, glad that she knew too when to bring up the conversation, "Oh really?" Kitten chuckled, "I went to Africa when I was seven." Damien comically rolled his eyes, well, maybe she did beat him there. But at his words, she smirked at him, challenging his ego, "Oh, is that so? You think you could handle a tiger one on one?" Damien blinked in confusion, didn't she just say she didn't want to fight him? Obviously, he wouldn't be fighting a tiger, but still. A smile lifted across his face as he repeated his thoughts, "Well I don't know about that. I'm pretty confident that you won't attack me." Then again, he never really said he wouldn't lose... even so, it was obvious she was simply joking with him. "And once I join the Thieves, I won't live with my mom anymore. I didn't tell her, but I'm setting out once I join, to live a life of semi-solitude. No family around, and just my strange gathering of Shifters, Thieves. Who knows? I might even find another Tiger besides my mom out there." Damien nodded along, content with agreeing with her eagerness. If she was happy so was he. Damien wasn't the kind of kid to settle well with sadness and the like. At that, she winked at him. Damien's face uplifted into a grin at her contentment, even so, he was confused. What was that supposed to mean? Maybe a hidden message or something? Who knows. Man, they seemed to be saying that a lot. Soon enough though, Damien slapped his hands against his damp shirt, attempting to get the air to dry it faster. With that he walked closer to the door, parallel of Kitten, so he could also sit down. Not that he wouldn't mind sitting near her, but, they just met and he didn't want it getting awkward too fast. The teen's hair swished back and forth in front of his eyes like a pendulum. On his way he commented, "Sounds like a plan." Finding a comfortable spot he leaned down and blew a quick breath, ridding of the settled debris. A transparent cloud of dust puffed up, but nothing he would worry about. With that he turned and plopped himself down, it seemed sturdy enough. Continuing he went on about his own plans, not that he really had any, "I can't really say I have a plan myself... maybe something along culinary lines?"Cooking wasn't so bad, and by god he loved food. It wasn't that he would stuff himself, rather he savored the flavors. So many different kinds of tastes and smell and looks, it was interesting how cooks even began remembering and recognizing dishes. His most favorable connection with Amber would definitely help that considering her father owned a restaurant. Maybe he wasn't a chef, but he had connections, and if so, that would work with him.

I bet we Tigers could change our stripes if we wanted to. >>Kitten<<
Kitten opened a single green eyes and looked at him. He seemed confused when she had challenged him to a fight. "I'm not really gonna fight you, I was just making a point, Dame." Kitten said with a chuckle, giving him a nickname he could possibly live with.
She watched him walk over and plop himself down on the floor, a small cloud of dust rising as he hit the ground. Kitten sneezed, then shook her head and looked at him. He seemed to be a bit of a shy kid despite it all.
"Sounds like a plan." He commented.
Well, it was a plan, that was kind of the point, ya know? "Yeah, it kinda is. I just haven't worked out how I'm gonna sneak out of the house one night and not come back to find her foaming at the mouth on the floor." She laughed, thinking of her mother freaking out and calling the police to look for her. She'd just have to write a note and call her from the pay phone or something.
"I can't really say I have a plan myself... maybe something along culinary lines?"
"Well, I would say I could get you hooked up, but my Papa was the cooker in the family, and he died when I was little." Kitten said, with a stressed smile. Her dad and cooking were topics she didn't like to talk about. She had loved her Papa, then he had died. It was sad, but it was life.
"Do you like cooking a lot, Dame? You could come to my mom's place and she could teach you a few of Papa's recipes. I know she still has them even though she won't admit it." Kitten laughed. She laughed to cover up her emotions, she liked it when others thought she was a happy, bright, cheerful person.
She was, more than 80% of the time. She did have flaws though, and some things were just, life.

DAMiEN Kitten's face uplifted and chuckled, "I'm not really gonna fight you, I was just making a point, Dame." Damien twitched a smile, Dame? Was that his pet name or something? Dame... Dame... the word rang in his head as he tasted the sound like morning dew dripping off a blade of grass. It was okay, it certainly sounded like Japanese or something... personally he preferred something different, more natural. Maybe something like... Ian? Damien kind of left off with the name... oh well. He wouldn't really mind it. Besides, he didn't want to be rude and ruin her fun... it kind of connected to his own fun. As he plopped himself on the floor, a small sneeze came out of her mouth. He side grinned to her out of the corner of his icy blue gaze, "Sorry." Wait, why was he saying sorry? Oh yeah, the sneezing. Then again, it was really the dusts fault... Kitten bobbed her head, "Yeah, it kinda is. I just haven't worked out how I'm gonna' sneak out of the house one night and not come back to find her foaming at the mouth of the floor." As hard as he tried, Damien couldn't really connect with that though for obvious reasons. Still, he managed to hearty laugh at the image of... any person really foaming at the mouth. There was no way that would be scary, more like hilarious. "I can't really say I have a plan myself... maybe something along culinary lines?""Well, I would say I could get you hooked up, but my Papa was the cooker in the family, and he died when I was little."Kitten solemnly smiled, though it was stressed. Damien glanced to the ground, wishing that he could make her feel better. Sadness really didn't like him. "That's... unfortunate." What else was there to say? I'm sorry your dad died? That wouldn't be so well... even so, people usually got annoyed by that. So many people telling them they're sorry? It would get annoying... Damien knew the feeling sometimes... the pity... uh. He shuddered at the thought, tuning his ears back into the conversation at hand. Her voice quickly got into the beat, skipping the sadness. It seemed she was on the same thinking lines as himself, "Do you like cooking a lot, Dame? You could come to my mom's place and she could teach you a few of Papa's recipes. I know she has them even though she won't admit it." Damien cracked a grin at her laugh, ignoring the awkward silence. "Nah... thanks for the offer, but like I said... I have connections..." After a second thought, his laugh broke out again, "Lots of them actually."As his laughter calmed down to a low chuckle he went on, not remotely embarrassed about bragging about how much he knew. "Most of the people I know are in the Thieves... odd as it is. I guess like yourself, I thought about joining, but... like I explained, they aren't really my thing." He flashed a small smile and shrugged, adding to his point... or maybe he was proving his point? Or indicating that he really didn't care? Or maybe that he wasn't even sure why he was telling this to her? Damien was a friendly person, but to take someone close to the heart so soon... ((Should I bring in Amber soon?))
