AMGINE "Stupid bus driver" she breathed, running her long fingers through her wavy brown locks. It wasn't an easy task since her hair was tangled and a bit dirty from her journey, she hadn't slept in weeks, and her back was tense from sitting on a bus for three hours. It would be her luck that the bus would take her to the outskirts of town, heaven forbid any of this be easy for her. She could shift but a large white horse racing around in the middle of the night might be a bit suspicious. Amgine sighed in defeat and looked around, There was a large lake, it glowed and shimmered in the moonlight, making her mind drift for a moment, her lids felt heavy over her grey blue orbs, but she knew if she slept the nightmares would start again. She shook her head and walked to the edge of the body of water, kneeling down she splashed some of the cool water on her face, waking her up a bit.
She stood up and shifted the black back pack on her shoulder. It held her only earthly possessions. A few sets of clothes, her cell phone, her bank card and i.d. and a letter from her father. Nothing of terrible importance but it was everything she had taken with her from London. She kept walking, hoping to find somewhere safe to wait out the night. It was getting cold and she hugged her jacket tighter, clenching her jaw to keep her teeth from chattering. She hated this, she was alone, and had no clue where she was going or where the hell she was in the first place. All she knew at that particular moment was there was a few trees ahead and some looked promising for climbing.
Sure enough, one of the tree's was a large tree with thick branches that flattened out at the trunk, perfect for an unconventional seat. She took a few steps back and bound forward, grasping the lowest branch she pulled herself up easily, she had well muscled arms and shoulders, mostly due to her shifting form. She manuvered herself so she was halfway up the tree in a comfortable spot and leaned against the trunk, letting her eyes close slightly, trying to fight off sleep.

Dimitri was walking at a leisurely pace, and even though he had no destination in mind, his steps had the authoritive purposeful step that contradicted his wandering. His steps were muffled on the grass as he continued his stroll, and in the silver light of the moon, he seemed a figure of black and white stuck in the blue land of night. The moonlight accented his jet black hair with silver, and lit his fairly tanned skin so it looked pale. The striking green of his eyes broke through the black and white haze, giving him that brilliant ounce of shocking color. He was dressed casually with his dark navy carpenter jeans and simple black t-shirt, and he was also wearing a dark leather jacket, stylish and simple. The sleeves hid his dark leather cuff bracelets on both wrists, one of which in turn hid his shifter mark. Even though he was only 19, he was 6’5 in height, and his build was long and lean, and even a bit lanky. He was nicely and fairly sculpted though, thanks to his recreational activities of choice and other hobbies. Even on a quiet night like this, Dimitri knew that danger was everywhere. In his right front pocket he had a fold-able combat knife and in his left his cell phone, and his wallet was in his back pocket. He had his Kimber Tactical Custom II .45 Caliber ACP handgun in an ankle holster that managed to fit seamlessly in his right cowboy boot. Yes, he was wearing cowboy boots tonight, and like the rest of his clothes, they were dark.
Dimitri felt the change in temperature, but it was still nothing like the Montana winters or even Autumns he was used to. He shoved his hands in the front pockets of his jacket and gave his head a small jerk to move the hair from his eyes. It usually fell just to his brows, but it had grown so that it was near his eyes. Its shaggy look was stylishly unkempt and it barely covered his ears. His startling emerald green eyes were hard as they took in every detail around him, and a sudden light wind blew through his hair, and further lowering the temperature. It wasn’t until he heard the sounds of someone or something attempting to climb that his head snapped up and his piercing green gaze scanned the trees a bit off to the side of him. He himself was walking in the shelter of the forest bordering the lake, not liking the open too much. He saw a girl, maybe around his age, pull herself and settle on the branch near the trunk. Absently, his feet had changed course and he was moving towards her. His lips pressed into a hard line once he realized what he was doing, he was someone who really tried to stay away from women, past experiences with them providing lessons of their cruelty and games with the heart. But his nature couldn’t help it; even before the…event…he couldn’t leave a woman in need and such alone. And from his glimpse of her, she seemed weary, with only a backpack, and quite possibly homeless seeing as she was in a tree for the night. He approached from the side, close enough to the tree line that he wasn’t shrouded in darkness but brooding all the same. His expression was cool and collected, and the hard gaze from before softened with concern.
He came to a pause a few yards from the tree where she had taken residence, barely having to tilt his head up to address her and take in her appearance. “Spending the night in a tree isn’t exactly safe,” His husky voice breaking through the night, and like his expression it was cool, but he couldn’t help but add in a faint trace of humor. “Especially around these parts.” His accent was clearly American, but with the barest Russian lilt to it. He ran a hand through his hair, but only to have another breeze whip it forward again. It was getting colder out the further the night progressed, but Dimitri wasn't fazed. Strange, spring had ended and summer was just around the corner, guess the weather wanted to breathe the last of its chill. it was brought up to his mind, but he gave it a mental shrug. He would wait for her reaction before he would continue.
((Hope you don't mind Dimitri here, still trying to get into his character myself C: ))

AMGINE A sigh escaped her full lips and she forced her vivid grey blue eyes open, it would be one thing to fall asleep in a tree, but it would be another thing entirely to have a nightmare 7 feet off the ground. She shifted her weight so she was sitting upright her backpack resting on her light blue jeans, her black sneaker clad feet were splayed out mindlessly on the wide branch. A gust of wind blew, and she snuggled deeper into her grey jacket. It was unseasonably cold, but who the hell knows anymore, what with ozone depletion and such. ha. She chewed on the inside of her lower lip, right where her shifter marking was. It was a habit that surfaced when she was bored or thinking. Currently she was trying to figure out how to get to town, or how to figure out where town was. Would it be easier to shift? She didn't know what the rules where, or what danger there might be, so she decided against it. She looked up through the break in the leaves, directly at the full moon. It was overly bright and made it easy to see in the dark, which was fine since she wasn't really a fan of terribly dark places. The wind blew again and tossed her long deep brown hair over her steely eyes, she huffed and swiped them away with her ivory digits. Her skin was so pale she practically glowed, maybe that's why her friend always found her when playing manhunt. She chuckled softly to herself, stopping abruptly when the sound of foot steps flooded her hearing. She looked down just as a male figure appeared. She couldn't see his face very well from this angle, but he was tall, and lean, but still muscled. He was like a creature of the night, dressed in dark clothing, then his voice reached her ears, it had a pleasent tone, with a sliver of an accent, one she knew but couln't place “Spending the night in a tree isn’t exactly safe,” she peered down at him, raising an eyebrow abover her silver blue orb. “Especially around these parts.” she smirked slightly, still trying to make out his shadowy features. Well, I'm sorry to say I'm not familiar with 'these parts', but it's been my experience that a tree can be a bit safer than the ground.her voice was heavy with her british accent, but very sweet sounding, though her tone was purely sarcastic. She swung her legs so she was perched sideways, like a swing, her feet dangling a few feet above the strangers head. She didn't have any weapons on her, but she knew a bit of combat. Amgine felt she didn't need it though, as she studied him she saw no hostility in his body language. This was a good thing. For:Sinn listening to: nothing Notes: Ughhhh horrible horrible horrible, I sorry!

His brows gave the slightest quirk at her words, thickly accented and layered in sarcasm, but still managing to sound sweet. He took it in stride though, not giving it anymore meaning than it just being her usual answering of a stranger. When she swung over on the branch he lifted his head, allowing the moonlight to bathe over one side of his face, lighting it up. He took a moment to consider the safety issue about trees vs. non- tree places. Like the ground. “Hardly.” He said under a breath that was meant for himself. If someone wanted to hurt her, a tree wouldn’t stop them. From Dimitri’s past experience that is, but then again he had been in the role of the hunter. His own shifter form was a predator, and some of the characteristics of his panther form showed up as a human. Lean yet muscular, piercing gaze, hell even his black hair. These were the most obvious, but then they could be taken as anything for those unfamiliar to recognizing other shifters. Now there were more traits rather similar to his feline counterpart, but that’s not really important right now.
He took her words to mean she was new around Shelpey, much like himself. But how new? -That was the question. Dimitri had only been here a few days, but he had learned fast and even bought himself a small apartment back at the residential district. He shifted on his feet, adjusting his stance. He didn’t know if she was a shifter, but he knew others were out there. It didn’t really matter the place, hell he was from another continent and he had had shifter blood lines. He decided to go on a gut instinct and branch out though. “I’m guessing you’ve come a long way to get to Shelpey,” He said, playing on her travel weary appearance and accent. He could be wrong on both though, but oh well. “I’ve only been here a few days myself, but you’ll learn soon enough why you ended up here.” He added in a bit cryptically, and again with the faintest trace of Russian in his voice. He let a few moments pass before continuing.
“And who’s side you’ll be on.” Here in Shelpey, the Shifters had their own society, and in that society were the Guilds. There were the Assassins, and then there were the Thieves. Of course you didn’t have to join a guild, but Dimitri hadn’t been here long enough to find out about the shifters that chose to be without a guild. At the moment, Dimitri was on his own team, but he was leaning towards indeed joining the assassins. A part of him wondered whether she would remain in the tree for the entire conversation, he’s never talked to someone in a tree before, er well not quite like this.
“I’m Dimitri by the way.” He felt the corners of his mouth pull up into a quick half smile, but just as quick as it had appeared it vanished and his cool and collected expression took place once again. He kept his deep emerald gaze trained on the woman, the concern had softened them to an extent, but he was always guarded, and even deeper sparked curiosity over her, but had hidden itself as well.

AMGINE Her shifting form was a prey animal, so her instincts where to make it as hard as possible to reach her, then again a horse in a tree didn't exactly make for a good pairing. She kept her eyes trained on him, this nameless stranger, as he lifted his head to look up at her, the moonlight danced on his features. He was captivating, the light set his feline like qualities into shadows on his face, she lost her train of thought for a moment, only to regain it when she heard him mutter something under his breathe, this might have normally bothered her, but it didn't seem important at the moment. She watched him watching her, feeling suddenly self-conscious of her ragged, slightly dirty, appearance, of course she didn't let him know any of this, she was good at hiding emotions, it kept people from hurting her. She could lie extremely well, and had a class act poker face, but these were all out of the necessity to survive and keep her secret, well..secret. I’m guessing you’ve come a long way to get to Shelpey,” she bit her tongue, holding back the sarcastic venom that coated her mouth. “I’ve only been here a few days myself, but you’ll learn soon enough why you ended up here.” she gave him a mild glare, “And who’s side you’ll be on.” This intrigued her and she unconsciously leaned forward a bit too far, her seat slipping from the branch. She let out a small gasp and began to descend, before grabbing a nearby branch and swinging there for a few moments. Well, I guess you were right about the whole tree thing.she let out a small laugh and let herself drop, landing in a crouch in front of the stranger before standing up to her full 5' 7" height. She was well built, her muscle was hard and wiry and her shoulders were a tad wider than normal, but this was because of her shift form, those were the muscles she used most. She took a step back to take a good look at him, then she realized that her gaze was maybe chest level with Mr. Tall dark and handsome. She looked up at him, brushing away a strand of her brown locks from her silver blue eyes. She huffed and scrunched her eyebrows and gave him a lopsided grin. What's this about sides? She was curious, she knew very little about this place and would take whatever information she could get. She kept her gaze on him, studying his facial expression, taking her time on his striking eyes, trying to see if he let anything show. “I’m Dimitri by the way.” She thought she saw a hint of a smile, but it was gone too soon. She let herself smile up at him, genuine and kind. She held out her milky white hand for him to shake. Amgine. For:Sinn listening to: nothing Notes: This is kind of all over the place. Sorry if it's confusing.

Looks like he wasn’t the only one who knew the game. He had perfected the art of the facade, keeping his expressions and body language neutral and cool, hiding and suppressing emotions and such, only revealing what he wanted and hardly was there a time when anything he didn’t want to show was expressed in any way shape or form. He was familiar with it, it had become more than habit- it was a comfort, something steady and a constant in his life. For the most part of the past 2 years things had been rather straight-forward, though complex in their own ways but the objective always clear. Dimitri had a lot of blood on his hands, and nothing he would do could wash it away. But the odd thing about it…Dimitri was okay with it. It was something he more than happily accepted. Each and every person who had met their end either directly or indirectly from him had deserved it, and some more than others. Iced over in his deep gaze was a secret he kept close, and because of that secret and what he had done because of it, he had developed a sort of…guilty pleasure, a savage delight, a sadistic streak if you must, for delivering justice to those deserving death, those who needed to die for whatever reason. He didn’t take it upon himself to kill everyone though, he wasn’t that cruel and heartless and soulless, and there are worse things than death- but Dimitri had been merciful and had in the end gave them the dark eternal bliss of death. These dark thoughts all passed his mind in little more than a second, well if they were thoughts, and the only sign of them having ever existed was a slightly calculating edge to his gaze as he continued to analyze the pale woman in the tree.
And because of that analyzing he noticed the glare of her stunning blue gray orbs, and when he finally gave pause for his words to sink in her lean forward. There was maybe 3 yards of separation between him and her, and she was probably a good 7 feet high. His mind was already looking forward, and as soon as the gasp left her lips he was in action. In a single fluid motion he had covered maybe 2 yards, and it would’ve been more had he not stopped mid-step when she caught herself on another branch. He realized he had let his protective nature take over and now stood there with his arms by his sides- which had left his pockets and would’ve reached out to catch her fall. He wasn’t embarrassed though, but it had clearly changed his neutral expression into one resembling tentative relief. ‘Well, I guess you were right about the whole tree thing.’ Her words were followed with an easy laugh and that was all that was needed to relax the stern line of his lips. One of his dark brows rose questioningly when she took a step back after landing to take a better look of him. He was then able to notice how athletic she was, and that her shoulders were a bit wider than what would be expected. Maybe she was a swimmer like himself, and that would also explain the well built frame she held. It could also prove that she was more than just a human.
He refused to be distracted by the way the silver glow of the moonlight broke through the branches and highlighted her hair and gave her skin a sort of glow. The way it reflected off the blue gray eyes that were both curious and analyzing. No. And besides, she had taken a step forward, giving him her name and offering him his hand to shake. He closed the distance, but still leaving enough space for the both of them to be comfortable. Contrary to the chilly air of the night, Dimitri’s hands were warm, and he reached out one of his strong hands and grasped hers with what could be an unexpectedly soft yet firm shake before releasing and taking a small step back. “Amgine,” he repeated, and again with the hint of Russian in his accent. Names were a thing which brought it out stronger than with sentences and such. Back to her earlier inquiry, ‘What’s this about sides?’ He took a deep breath before speaking, taking a short moment to figure out which information he should be giving out.
“Well, here in Shelpey, there are two groups, well three actually-“ He remembered that those guild less were considered loners. “-The police think of them as gangs, but they’re so much more.” They were shifters, blending with the human society and with a constant strain against the other gang. “The Assassins and the Thieves, can you guess why they aren’t your typical gangs?” He said, turning his gaze back on her which had drifted from her to a watching bird. The bird was only that, and it flew away into the night. “From what I know, they’re really the same, except the assassins are quicker to kill in general. Hard to get much information about any of them though.” He concluded, and with all of his contacts and influence, it was still a struggle to find out about them without actually asking a member and finding out. Well when you live in Shifter Central certain secrets have to be kept. “But both are dangerous in their own way, and just because you’re new doesn’t mean they won’t be any less so.” One might think immediately to spies or some sort of threat before anything else.
A little trick came to mind, a way to find out if she was indeed a shifter or not. He slid the sleeves of his leather jacket up so they were near his elbow- revealing his hard fore-arms and the dark leather cuff bracelet that was on both of his wrists. He forgot about the small blade that hid itself in the buckle of his particular one. The blade was maybe 2 inches long and an inch wide, and its handle was the buckle that strapped the bracelet closed. It was similar to a push-dagger style belt buckle blade. Anyways, he loosened it and took it off, holding it in his other hand. By doing this he revealed his dark green shifter mark that was clearly visible on the inside of his wrist. He gave a quick glance to her to see her reaction of it before demonstrating how it’s worked. He gave a small tug on the buckle, freeing the small blade. It made a sort of upside-down T-shape between his fingers and it caught the light, giving it a cold glint. His piercing gaze never left her, gauging her reaction. He put the blade back into its hiding spot, its fit snug and seamless. He reached out, his shifter mark still visible, and offered her the bracelet with its hidden blade. It would at least give him the peace of mind she had some sort of weapon- regardless whether she was a shifter or not. He wasn’t sure if they would meet again after this, and it was a small start to life here in SA. “Take it,” His voice was pitched low and it seemed to fit the atmosphere perfectly. It wasn’t exactly a demand but his tone suggested refusal was not an option. The relaxed line of his lips pulled up at a corner into a small grin in a sign of something almost foreign to him- friendliness.
((The bracelet he’s talking about is more like a belt type bracelet, how it has a buckle and when it closes, it has the loops and such, sorry it’s confusing :3 ))

AMGINE “Amgine,” the word that was so familiar, sounded foreign on his lips, and she was suddenly able to place his accent, it also explain the darker coloring, he had a good bit of Russian in him. His hand touched hers, and the sudden warmth of it made her shiver, not realizing how cold she was. She gave him a small smile, keeping her eyes on his, wishing she could see through the barrier that clouded his feelings, hiding them away from her. Most people she met were like open books, easy to read. She had never been terribly outgoing, always the quiet one who got written off as weird or stuck up, but she simply didn't enjoy talking and when she did it was always sarcasm or some sort of advice. See, since she wasn't wasting her time gabbing mindlessly about the class whores and who broke up with whom, she had time to observe and learn how to read body language and facial expressions. She could always tell when someone lied to her, well, almost always. It was harder with Dimitri, he had a secret, probably many, and when people have things to hide they void their face of any genuine emotion, the only thing to do was either uncover the secret, or leave it be and accept that it's there. Amgine looked into his eyes again and decided to go with the ladder. He started speaking again, answering her question of sides. “Well, here in Shelpey, there are two groups, well three actually-The police think of them as gangs, but they’re so much more.” She wondered if perhaps they were like her, able to shift, maybe Dimitri was like her...it made a lot of sense. “The Assassins and the Thieves, can you guess why they aren’t your typical gangs?” she smirked slightly, not answering the question, and let him continue. “From what I know, they’re really the same, except the assassins are quicker to kill in general. Hard to get much information about any of them though. “But both are dangerous in their own way, and just because you’re new doesn’t mean they won’t be any less so.” She eyed him, slightly wary of his words, they sounded almost threatening, but she shook it off. Thanks for the warning. She looked down at her sneakers for a moment, the glanced back up at the tall boy in front of her. She noted he had rolled up his sleeves, his forearms were toned and he had begun to take off his wristband, this confused her. She felt her face scrunch up in confusion, watching as the band slipped away, revealing a marking on his wrist, a marking that was identical to the one she had. She had guessed long ago that it had been a symbol of the shifters, but had only met one other person with a similar marking. He was a shifter. She looked him in the eye and noticed the small dagger he had pulled, she tensed and then relaxed as he slipped it back into the bracelet and held the strap out to her, she looked at him then at the cuff and then at his wrist and then back to him. “Take it,” she thought about objecting, but his tone told her not to, plus, it was a weapon. She looked up at him and took the band, slipping it on her wrist and fastening it snuggly. Then she looked up at him again and took a step forward, reaching out and taking his arm gently and lifting it closer to her face, her touch was feather light as she studied the marking, making sure it was a match to hers, it was. Amgine let his arm go, setting it gently back at his side. She thought for a moment, deciding it was safe she spoke. Thanks, but if the city is as dangerous as you say it is, then you should cover that up...are you sure you don't need this? She held his eyes, hoping he caught the hint that she knew what the marking was, that they were the same. Then she thought of something and smiled. You're some sort of cat, right? and probably big judging by your height.she had, of course, based this off of observation, his face was almost feline, but fierce with a hint of the wilderness, he was tall, and well muscled, meaning he was something large and powerful. She stood, praying that she wasn't making a stupid decision. For:Sinn listening to: nothing Notes: Ugh, it sounded better in my head.

There was a mildly questioning edge to her gaze, as if she was trying to read him, assess him, and that his barriers were something she wasn’t used to. It was there for a moment though, because then it seemed she reached a conclusion.
‘Thanks for the warning.’ He gave a sharp nod at that, thinking he had indeed delivered his message to heat, or at least making her raise her guard up. For someone who was so adept at reading people and situations alike, he didn’t catch the wary glimmer or even think of the possibility he had frightened her. He did notice the confusion when she noticed him take off his wrist strap, and then when she met his gaze there was a knowing smile in his green depths as she looked from the strap, his wrist, and finally settling back on his eyes. And just like that, the dark veil was pulled back and was replaced with enlightenment, for now they both knew the other was a shifter. He was glad she had taken the strap, and as she fit it to her wrist he lowered his arm back to his side, shifting on his feet again.
When she took the step forward he felt his breath catch, his own guard flickering before he silenced it when he put it off. He let the soft touch of her hands lift his arm to better examine his wrist, eyeing her with both brows quirked slightly. She seemed to come to some sort of conclusion, because she then released his arm and they both fell into silence.
‘Thanks, but if the city is as dangerous as you say it is, then you should cover that up...are you sure you don't need this?’ He unstrapped the matching bracelet that was on his other wrist and transferred it to the bare one that had the green mark, covering it up again. “I’m fine,” There was a double meaning to his words. One side conveying he had the means to keep it covered and that it was nothing to worry about. On the flip side, it also meant he knew how to handle himself, that he was prepared for any danger and knew how to deal and handle it.
‘You're some sort of cat, right? And probably big judging by your height.’ This managed to bring out one of the rare half smiles of his, dark and gorgeous but good natured all the same. “Yes, a panther.” Indeed, she was quite observant. He only wished he knew what she could possibly be, naming shifters was one thing, but naming their shift form was something else for Dimitri. “And what might you be?” he asked in return. He had a few guesses, but whatever she was it had to something free, something tame but with the wild edge of a high spirit that contradicted and made it unique.
Another breeze flitted through he grass and branches and around the duo standing near the trees. But it wasn’t as cold as the others before it. “I’ll probably join the Assassins.” He said, running a hand through his hair again. “So if there’s anything you need, you can find me in their territories. But I also have an apartment in the residential district back in town.” The apartment complex was the only one in the district, so probably just walking into the main building and asking for him would be enough. He wasn't sure if she had a phone with her, but he didn't ask anyway.
“Anything you need,” if you’re ever in trouble, “come find me.” The silent though was his alone but seemed almost tangible in the air between them. His half smile faded into a small grin as he said the words. He didn’t know why he said them exactly, maybe it was just him looking out for another new shifter, but whatever it was he had already offered it. He crossed his arms comfortably as he glanced from the pitch water of the lake before returning his gaze back on Amgine.
((Muse kinda left me half way through the post. That would explain it's lame ending XD ))

AMGINE She knew he understood, for in his brilliant eyes she saw it, they were bright with knowing, and for this she smiled. It was as if the atmosphere changed between them, she let herself relax just a bit. She had offered him his band back, not wanting him to risk exposure, but he refused “I’m fine,” she nodded, recognizing the double entendre in his words, not pushing the matter further. Men and their pride. She shook her head slightly, quite amused at this. She watched a smile form on Dimitiris' face, it was a beautiful and haunting lopsided grin, and she couldn't help but stare. “Yes, a panther.” she gave him a toothy grin, happy to have been right. “And what might you be?” she smile fell and she let her gaze drop for a moment before glancing up at him through her long lashes. A horse. . .A Thoroughbred to be exact. She blushed slightly, the wind moving her hair over her face for a moment. She wasn't exactly embarrassed about her shifting form, it just wasn't the easiest thing to be, It's hard to stealthy when you're a large, 1000 pound animal. She brushed her hair away and lifted her chin defiantly, her eyes never leaving his. He was speaking again, so she listened. “I’ll probably join the Assassins. So if there’s anything you need, you can find me in their territories. But I also have an apartment in the residential district back in town.” She nodded, her eyebrows furrowing in seriousness. “Anything you need, come find me." she felt like there were unspoken words in the sentence, but she didn't want to read to far into it. She wondered why he would say this to her, a loner shifter that he had just met. Maybe it was because she was new to town. She looked at her feet for a moment, making a split second decision, it might be the only chance she got. She spoke carefully, I actually don't really know how to get to town...and you said yourself that tree's aren't a safe place to spend the night..so...do you think that maybe...I could crash at your place tonight?..... I know you don't know me or anything, but I...I'm just....ahh fuck it. she stomped her foot in frustration, I'm scared, I don't know what to do or where to go. she had to fight every instinct she had in order to say those words, she never really talked about how she felt with people, especially if she didn't know them. She felt suddenly overwhelmed, and slightly angry at herself. She bit her lip, wishing she could take it back, wishing she could say the rest of what she was feeling. Part of her didn't want him to leave, he was the second shifter she had ever met. She crossed her arms over her stomach, holding herself together. Ugh, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have dumped all of that on you...I have no idea why I did that...I'm sorry. She had never been good at talking, unless she was being sarcastic or giving advice. She just shook her head and looked at her shoes. Now she was embarrassed. For:Sinn listening to: Gone Forever- Three Days Grace Notes: Umm....sorry for the cluster fuck ending...I tried to make it as clear as possible but my brain is a bit tired.

He could tell she was glad about her earlier assumption of him being some kind of feline shifter proven correct, her grin proved it. It disappeared though when he had asked her about her form. He kept a level gaze trained on her, curiosity piqued further. ‘A horse…A Thoroughbred to be exact.’ An interesting animal form, and it fit the format he had been thinking about earlier. He had grown up around horses while he was a ranch hand in Montana, so he was familiar with the breed as well as horses in general. His brows pulled together in a clear sign of confusion, wondering why she was shutting down at the topic of her animal form. He fell back into his mask of neutrality. But even though, she blew it off with a defiant rise of her chin. Now was the moment where he would wait for her reaction of his offer. She seemed to realize he was sincere about it, and he breathed a mental sigh of relief when she nodded in agreement. She looked away from him again before speaking. The words came out cautious, careful, as if this might be something new or hard for her. He listened intently, eyes flickering to a darker green with the chill returning to the air. ‘I actually don't really know how to get to town...and you said yourself that tree's aren't a safe place to spend the night..so...do you think that maybe...I could crash at your place tonight?..... I know you don't know me or anything, but I...I'm just....ahh fuck it. I'm scared, I don't know what to do or where to go.- Ugh, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have dumped all of that on you...I have no idea why I did that...I'm sorry.'Her little speech brought out his protective nature, but he recovered his stoic façade; keeping the emotions hidden. He felt himself flash back to his childhood when his younger sister, Gwen, was begging him to let her friend spend the night at their house. Their parents were in another city and had left Dimitri in charge. He cut the memory off, knowing that would ruin his façade and make him vulnerable, open. And some things were only meant to think about in solitude. This moment had reminded him of that time- but this was life today. But still, he found his big brother persona making slow progress to the surface, and he wouldn’t- couldn’t- leave a girl in need knowing he could do something about it. He moved forward hesitantly, not sure how things would go now. He just let the words flow from his mouth and did what he usually does; He decided to take charge of the situation, being the face of calm and strength. He moved to try to tilt her chin up with one hand so she was looking at him again. “Hey, don’t worry about it. Everyone gets scared, and this is all new for you, you’re entitled to your emotions and there’s nothing wrong about that.” His husky russian hinted voice was low in tone, smooth and reassuring. He dropped his hand and took a half step back, straightening his jacket. “The only question left is how you want to get there- it’s a good half hour at least go get there by car.” He added in at a poor attempt at humor to try to ease the situation. But hey, for the stoic soldier this was actually progress for him. He knew that his 12 hours were nearly up as a human, he probably only had an hour or 2 left before he was forced into his panther form. His grin was gone but there was a new softness that made up for it in his gaze. ((Ehhs, muse kinda went dry for him, sorry for lameness.)) Im A Ninja
