"Chase.." He heard the breath like a gasp against his ever pounding ears. Strong arms felt secure around his waist, and a gentle kiss stroked his forhead, his breathing shuttering before starting to even. It was a nightmare, just a horrible, horrible, nightmare.. Another tender kiss graced his temple, then his eyelid, his cheek.. Each seemed to calm him down moreover then the last. He let a soft groan mumble through his partially open lips, until a soft touch carressed even them.
"Chase, hun, what happened?" The images, they were still there.. they still terrified him, and he still felt the shock that came with them. But it all felt a bit more distant, now that the real thing was here, holding him.. "Did you have a nightmare?" His love's lips hovered over his, just inches away, tempting him with the same knotting feeling he'd felt earlier. Too bad it was already twisted in too much fear and insanity to even begin to comprehend it.. Another soft peck on the corner of his mouth, he closed his eyes more calmly then before.
"It was just a nightmare.." He subconciosly sqeezed Dj a bit tighter, fear lingered over the edge of his thoughts. Fingers ran through his dishelved hair, and he cuddled closer, welcoming the comforting sound of Dj's heartbeat, his breathing against his face, his uncontaminated scent filling him with such a lovely sensation. What had happened wasn't real, it had already happened, and he'd saved him. Nothing bad had happened, he'd sent the cat away with it's tail between it's legs.. A protective urge pierced through him, but replaced itself quickly with that of helplessness. In his dream, in his dream he hadn't been able to do anything..
"I'm sorry, I couldn't protect you.." The gentle lull of Dj's sweet breath against his face, coupled with his heartbeat and gentle stroking, made sleepyness started to fill his limbs once again. He realized Dj would have no idea what he was talking about, and he supposed he wasn't sure if he wanted to in the first place. Right now, it didn't matter..

Djakael heaved a sigh of relief as he felt Chase begin to calm down, the boys tensed and trembling body slowly beginning to go limp. He was starting to drift off, thankfully.
"It was just a nightmare..." 'So that's what it was,' thought Djakael quietly, smiling softly as Chase hugged him a little tighter and cuddled closer. 'I guess he's still scared, huh...' In an attempt to be of comfort to Chase, Djakael began to hum the tune to one of his favorite lullaby's, softly of course. Hopefully, it would help.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't protect you..." Came the fearful whimper of Chase. Instantly, Djakael pulled him closer, hugging him tighter, and pressed a soft, comforting kiss to his lips. Not once did he stop humming, nor did he miss a beat.
There was no way he could, to tell the truth. He knew the song by heart and he wasn't going to let himself slip up until after Chase was asleep. No way. Chase needed that comfort way too much.
Then, finally, Chase went completely limp, falling asleep. A huge smile graced Djakael's lips and he pressed a soft, loving kiss to his forehead before gently laying him back down on the matress and pulling the sheets up to his shoulders. "Sleep well, Chase." He murmured, pulling back only to get a sudden idea.
If he left Chase in this condition to sleep alone, he would more than likely have another nightmare and that, obviously, would not be good. But he knew Chase was hesitant about them sleeping in the same bed together. However, if he Shifted, he could be there as a comfort.
Nodding to himself, Djakael Shifted forms suddenly and hopped up on the bed. Wriggling beneath one of Chase's arms, he curled up in the boys side and draped his tail over his waist before sighing softly in contentment and drifting off to sleep himself. This felt good, felt right. Djakael wouldn't have minded sleeping like this for the rest of his life.
OOC||: I hope it's epic awesome enough, Stephy! ^^ I tried my best~

Shadows like dancers dashed over his vision, the melody humming into his ears graceful and soothing. It's origin was slipping from his grasp, muscles going limp until darkness overtook his senses like a blanket of snow over a landscape, muffled and caressing.
Warmth surrounding, he plunged into a dreamless slumber.
~~~
"Mmmph.." Comforting warmth seemed to seep into his body as he let out a small groan, His eyes loosely shut as he faught off the remnants of sleepy cob webs from his dreary mind. The warm sheets draped over his thin shape, barely ruffled from the half night's slumber. He Buried his face into the pillow beside him, the light scent drifting off it was so sweet and comforting he wondered if he'd ever want to move. He blinked open an eye uncovered by the pillow, the shapes coming into a slow focus.
'Morning already..' His visiable eye blinked slowly, Mornings always made him feel stiff and lazy, but at least he wasn't sleeping on some park bench somewhere. It was quite the improvement. "Hmm.." Sighing reluctantly, he rolled over comfortably on his back. Wait.. What was that, something was Pinning the Blanket beside him? Somehow in his sleep daze he had only just noticed the warm shape, and pulling away a bit he realized that the warmth was coming from it.
"Mm..?"He raised a hand to rub his still sleep fogged eyes, a yawn forcing it's way out. Leaning on his right arm for Support his raised up into a sitting possition, quickly learning the shape beside him wasn't just a shape. His face flashed as he quickly realized who he was looking at, and the fact that he himself wasn't wearing a shirt.
"D-Dj?" His stuttered sleep induced reaction was surprised, what was he doing here.. And why was he in fox form? Why did he come here at all, and why was he here when he didn't have a shirt on. He would have pulled the sheet up more if the fox wasn't laying ontop of it. Why.. A Flash of memories hit him like a Semi truck striking down a pedestrian. The Nightmare, the blood, and then.. His Astonished look turned to one of more of a sad calm.
Guilt gripped at him, before another wave of embarasment as he again remembered his current predicament.
Djakael's ear twitched slightly as he heard Chase's sleepy groan, the boy slowly rousing from sleep. Knowing Chase wasn't sleeping on his back or facing him, Djakael lifted his head for a moment and shook the sleep out of his eyes and mind.
Able to see and think clearly now, Djakael watched Chase for a few moments before shrugging and deciding to sleep for a few minutes more. Chase was going to take a few to fully wake up.
He cracked an eye open as, a few minutes later, Chase rolled over onto his back and propped himself up on one arm, a shocked, "D-Dj?" falling from his lips. Djakael closed his eye again and flicked his ears, showing he was listening. "Hm?" He asked, sleepy. If he could get away with it, he would sleep all day long. He was horrible about getting up and doing anything when he had nothing to do the next day.
But he sighed and opened both eyes, rising to his paws, and shook out his fur, stretching his body out. He couldn't sleep knowing Chase would be awake and bored. Sighing again, he looked to Chase and gave him a foxy smile, the best he could do in his current form. "So, you hungry? I'm about to go cook breakfast. Tell me what you want, okay?" He said, smirking mentally at Chase's bright blush. It was too cute!
Chuckling, he lifted both of his front paws and placed them on Chase's chest, using the boy's chest to reach up and lick Chase's cheek affectionately. Djakael nuzzled his cheek for a moment longer, then pulled back, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. "Come out to the kitchen and tell me what you want when you're ready," He beamed, hopping off the bed and prancing out of the room after pausing to open the door.
Chase blinked in embarasment as the fox acted as if nothing was wrong, and he scarcely understood the words spouting from his muzzle. He rested an arm over his slim midsection subconciously, Not exactly hiding anything but he felt slightly more secure. His cheeks remained a soft rose colour, A distant look washed over his expression, he was starting to drift somewhere else. The sillyness of his panic at his partner seeing him shirtless seemed stupid as he remembered the previous night, Stunningly vivid as he opened his mind to the night's memories.
Maybe it was just droggy thoughts morning braught, or plain paranoia.. But Why had it felt so real. The more his obbsessive mind thought about it, the more it terrified him, and the more distant from reality he felt, he couldn't shake the awful feeling of pure terror that it struck through him. But here Dj was, right in front of him, stretching and unscathed. 'It didn't happen like that.' He was lying there, his neck at and odd angle, blood everywhere.. His cry for help.. 'No, I saved him. I don't have to think about that, because it didn't happen.'
His stream of thoughts halted as he felt claws digging softly into his bare chest, soft fur brushing against his face and whiskers ticking his nose, followed by a soft lick on his cheek. A small distracted smile graced his lips, his cheeks turning a deeper shade. He savored the feeling for a moment, for a fleeting instant marveling at how even the boy's fox form could make him squirm somehow.. But then the object of his thoughts turned, after a call to meet him in the kitchen for breakfast, and dissapeared from sight around the corner.
He released a tention wraught sigh. Was he usually this cryptic? Mm.. Yeah, he was, stupid question. "Stop being such an idiot.." He mumbled Softly under his breath. Should he /Really/ be worrying this much about it? It was a horrible, Horrible Nightmare yes.. But that's all it was, a nightmare. It was over now, gone, in the past. No need to dwell, right? If he knew that, then why couldn't he stop.
"Ughhh.." Leaning back, he fell with a small ThudScreech from the boxspring against the mattress once again. Laying back against the pillow stareing up at the ceiling, he ran his fingers through his hair. closing his eyes a minute later and taking a few even breaths, his chest raised up and down with a timed beat. Dj could wait a few minutes he was sure, he needed to get a handle on things before he could be the least bit presentable, he couldn't go through in this state of mind.. He'd had enough embarasing conversations with the man already, it wasn't like him to be this weak.
He shut his eyes a bit tighter. Being this afraid only meant you had something to lose, didn't it?
What if he lost it?
"Hmmm. What to make, what to make..." Mumbled Djakael curiously, the now-human artist sifting through his fridge for breakfast foods. There was a lot he could make, he just had to decide. Did he want eggs of some sort? Pancakes? Waffles? He didn't know. "Ah... And this is why I asked Chase to tell me what he wanted." He sighed, running a hand through his messy hair after shaking his head slowly for a moment.
Sighing again, he shut the fridge door and stared at the bright, reflective black metal door for a few seconds, having forgotten his reason for shutting the door and for even enteringthe kitchen in the first place. "Oh! That's right! Breakfast! Heh heh..." Sweatdropping heavily, Djakael glanced around his kitchen for another moment before shrugging and walking up to one of his cabinets. He pulled out a tall glass and walked back to his fridge, pulling out the carton of whole milk.
With a relaxed whistle, Djakael set his glass on the counter and poured it into his cup before twisting the top back on and returning it to its rightful spot in the fridge. Taking up his glass, he calmly headed over to the table and plopped down on the chair facing the doorway, propping his legs up on the chair cloest to him. "I'll just wait till Chase decides to roll out of bed to figure out what to cook. And I'll ask him if he knows about the Guilds while I'm at it." He mumbled, eyes rising to the ceiling as he took a calm sip of his milk.
Chase sighed inwardly, brooding wasn't going to help anything. 'Dj's waiting for me, what am I still doing here?' Running his right hand through his hair once more, He leaned against his left arm and slid up into a sitting possition at the edge of the bed, the soft sheets still partially draped over his legs. Breakfast, breakfast.. Dj had asked what he'd wanted, He supposed he should know before going through. What was there anyways.. He hadn't been treated to much before. Mm.. His face lit up as he thought of something he'd loved as a kid. Pancakes!
Clutching at the sides of the mattress he looked around the room absentmindedly for his clothing. Where had he put them anyways? Getting up stiffly, he stretched, The slim muscles that he had rippling a bit under their almost snow white confines. Oh, he'd had a shower last night hadn't he, They must be in the wash or something. He flushed a bit and looked around, He couldn't take anything without asking. 'I can't go through like thissss!' He whined mentally, Shivering slightly and missing his coat tremendously. He didn't have much of a choice unless he wanted to raid Dj's drawers, and that wasn't something he'd let himself do.
Frowning nervously, he slouched in defeat and headed for the door. The appartment still had a slight chill after the previous night, But the sound of the heater, that he was growing accustom to already, promised warmth soon. Tugging at the rolled waistband self conciously he headed down the hall way towards the kitchen, his footsteps muffled against the soft carpet. Pancakes! Shyness and the glee at the thought of pancakes faught inside his mind lazily. He could taste them already, his nervous frown turned more into a nervous smile as he finally reached the corner into the kitchen.
He smiled gently at Dj as he saw him sitting at the kitchen table, his cheeks turning the usual pink that he got without fail at the sight of the boy. He resisted the urge to figit uncomfortably, He wanted his trench coat /Sooo/ badly. The pants Dj had lent him wouldn't stay up right, his slim frame barely able to hold them up as they hung off his hips, even with the waistband rolled down to make them a bit tighter, they stayed several inches below his naval, showing off the edges of his plain black boxers.
"Pancakes!" He blurted out suddenly, his face blushing a bit deeper as he managed to unfreeze, and walk hastily over to reach the table and take a quick seat accross from Dj. Had he ever felt this embarrased? He bit at his lip nervously, and crossed his arms sheepishly over his midsection.
Pancakes. Pancakes. PANCAKES.
Djakael let his head loll back over the back of his chair as he waited for Chase, his mind slowly drifting off to a peaceful silence. His milk was half gone already, him being a big fan of milk, and he was getting a little bored. He didn't like waiting simply because it made him bored and, despite his being easily amused most of the time, it was always hard to get amused when he was waiting.
"Baaahhh... I'm bored," He mumbled, his eyes shut against the bright light of his kitchen. Although his eyes were used to it, he didn't feel like seeing spots everywhere because he stupidly stared right into the lightbulbs. Raising one arm lazily, he rubbed at his eyes for a moment then ran his fingers through his hair, dropping his arm and lifting his head at the same time.
And boy, did he get a sight. Chase, clad in just his night clothes and an adorable blush, was walking towards the kitchen. Djakael's mouth formed a shocked "O" for a moment then closed into a smirk, the sly fox relieved from his boredom.
Chase looked amazing, that was all Djakael could say about it. He loved how Chase looked wearing his too-big pants and no shirt. It gave him a look of completely and totally belonging to Djakael, which instantly put him in a good mood.
"Pancakes!" Blurted Chase, Djkael snapping out of his none too innocent thoughts. What? Pancakes? What about pancakes?
Chase slid into the chair opposite of him, fidgiting slightly, and wrapped his arms around his waist. Self-conciously, probably. Pancakes... Oh, right! Breakfast!
Chuckling at himself, Djakael slid out of his seat and nodded. "Pancakes it is." He grinned. He almost turned for the fridge, but then thought twice about it and instead turned back to Chase, a mischievous smirk on his lips.
"By the way, Chase, how'd you sleep? Any more nightmares?" He asked. Stepping up to the blushing boy, Djakael leaned down and gave him a slow, gentle kiss. "Oh, and good morning, hun." He added, smiling softly at him.
Straightening up, Djakael turned back away and walked over to the fridge to get his needed supplies. Once he had everything, he glanced over his shoulder at Chase and offered him a warm smile. "Would you like to help cook?" He asked, not wanting Chase to get bored. And, who knew? Maybe Chase would like cooking and be really good at it.
His cheeks burned, The smirk that began to form on Dj's face as he squirmed uneasily in his chair made butterflies flutter anxiously in his stomach. He raised a free hand to brush his ebony black locks from his face, inocent eyes quickly averting away from the grinning boy across from him and staring into the marble countertop, his feet rubbing each other under his chair in an attempt to focus on something else. A small gentle smile graced his lips.
"Pancakes it is." Looking up from his death-glare at the table to Dj's back heading to the fridge, his smile brightening at the sound of the man's voice. He almost forgot how nervous he was, hearing Dj's voice he supposed it felt like it didn't matter anymore. He could swear he was his own personal angel, he wouldn't be surprised if he sprouted wings at any moment. But hey, it was morning and his thoughts tended to drift. What was happening again? Oh yeah. Pancakes! He could swear that he could taste them already.
"By the way, Chase, how'd you sleep? Any more nightmares?" Dj turned back towards him, the hint of worry in his voice almost dissapeared through the grin that seemed stuck on his face. Ah, the nightmare. He almost pouted, if the sudden kiss planted against his lips hadn't made that an impossibility. 'Mmm..' his eyelids sunk for what was probably only a few seconds, Long lashes fluttering open several moments after he had pulled away. Had someone turned the heat up? "Oh, And good morning, Hun." A softer smile flashed back at him, Chase barely managed to contain one of his own.
Yes.. it was a good morning. He had over-reacted to that nightmare from the previous night, there was absolutely nothing wrong. Nothing! The world was a glorious place. Ok that was OVER-Stating things, but who cares. He had the most amazing person in his life now, everything was so secure and wonderful. What was a little nightmare to get in his way? He watched as his companion got together the ingredients for his request, and the griddle to cook them on along with some bowls and such. "Would you like to help cook?" Dj called over his shoulder, the smile on his face was just too inviting to say no to.
"Hmm.." Pushing himself up off of his comfortable seat, he padded over next to Dj and looked at the utensils and ingredients in front of him, resting his hands against the counter in front of him. "I geuss I could try, But I don't have a clue what I'm doing." He laughed a bit as he spoke, a bit nervously but more amused then anything as he turned his head to speak more directly to Dj, His handsome blue eyes blinking back. He rubbed his foot against the back of his ankle, holding the look until his smile faded into an embarassing blush. looking back in front of him, he let a more delicate grin grace his lips, blinking a couple times as he regained some composure. "Just tell me what to do" He added a bit quieter, Giving him a shy sideways look.
OOC||: Sorry it took so long to get this done, Stephy! D= I hope it's epic-awesome enough for you! <3
Djakael smiled and moved to the left as Chase rose from his seat at the table to come stand next to him, a soft blush staining his pale cheeks pink. Ahh, that blush never failed to appear; now, did it? It was one of Djakael’s favorite things about the boy, his constant blush. Although Djakael would admit any day that the boy’s innocent demeanor was his top favorite, it was also his second most hated part about the boy. He wanted to take Chase’s innocence, to ruin it, but no matter how close he got to accomplishing that he could never bring himself to actually do it. He was afraid of what would happen should he ruin Chase’s innocent mind. Would he stop blushing all the time? Would he blush more? Djakael didn’t know, and he didn’t want to find out.
“I guess I could try, but I don’t have a clue what I’m doing.” Laughed Chase a little nervously, his forest eyes locked on Djakael’s own sky ones. “Just tell me what to do,” He added quietly, glancing at the older of the two.
Offering a calming smile, Djakael replied, “Not a problem, my dear.” Pancakes had to be one of the easiest foods to make, especially when you had the quick mix. “I happen to have the cheat for pancakes so it doesn’t take nearly as long to make as it would should we have to make it from scratch. It’s fun every once in a while, but I’m not up to that right now, haha.” He added, pointing to the box of mix.
“First off, we have to decide how many pancakes we want. I’d say about ten all together will work just fine. Hand me the measuring cup, please Hun.” Taking the measuring cup, Djakael filled it to the two cup mark then poured the powdered mixture into a large, clear bowl. “We’ll rinse this out the use it for the water.” He said, taking it to the sink and washing it before filling it to the ¾ cup mark. “Mix that in for me?” He asked, holding it out to Chase. He watched the placid wolf take the cup and carefully mix it into to powder, taking up the whisk and stirring the food thoroughly.
A soft smile weaved its way onto Djakael’s lips as he watched his partner work, the vulpine feeling a calming wave of serenity wash over him. This was the life, no doubt about it. Having Chase there with him was probably the best thing that could have happened to him. Although it wasn’t very noticeable a change, before Chase had arrived Djakael hadn’t been as lively. He’d been a bit more withdrawn, a bit more reclusive. Chase was slowly making him sociable again, like he had been as a worry-free child.
Pushing off the counter, Djakael meandered his way lazily over to Chase and, after turning on and readying the griddle, loosely slipped his arms around Chase’s waist, his head resting on the shorter of the two’s shoulder. His eyes fell shut. He could fall asleep right there, he knew. He was that comfortable and that at peace. Not to mention he was still a little sleepy, him being a naturally lazy person.
It was ironic, really. For as playful and energetic as he was as a fox, he was amazingly lazy as a human. If he could, he would sleep till noon everyday and spend the rest of the day lazily painting, sketching, or relaxing with Chase. Unfortunately, life never worked that way and, once school started up again after the summer, he would have to get up earlier everyday and would have to spend majority of his time doing things for school or in class. Oh, how he hated being cooped up in that annoying building.
Shaking his head lightly, Djakael lazily opened one eye and raised it to look up into Chases’. “You done, Hun?” He murmured, not bothering to raise his voice. Chase could hear him perfectly. A slight smirk tugged at Djakael’s lips at the darkened blush that stained Chase’s pretty cheeks. It had been there since he had hugged the boy. Proud of himself, Djakael tightened his grip on Chase’s waist so that both of his hands gripped his elbows rather than each other. He pressed a soft, teasing kiss to the junction between the wolf’s neck and shoulder, his eyes closed once more.
