Her mind was focused on one place - the warehouse. Today was the day she was finally going to learn how to maim and mangle any living male who dared to lay a finger on her. Her lips twisted up in a sadistic grin. All the wonderful ways she could harm a man. All the ways she could scare the living shit outta him. She came to the warehouse door where she stopped for a brief second. Trinell had mentioned something about meeting at the back. She nibbled her lip in concentration as she carefully slipped into the large dusty area. Sunlight attempted to shine through cracked and dirt ladened windows. What little light there was showed dust dancing in the air. Taavi took in a breath and winced. It smelled like mold and dust. Woohoo. Definitely a winning combination. She ran her hand over a thickly dust coated box and was rewarded with a small sneeze. Sniffing, she wiped her nose on the back of her hand and kept moving. 'Stupid dust. Getting everywhere.' The air inside the warehouse was stuffy and hot. Taavi squirmed as a trickle of sweat made it's way down the middle of her back. Finally, she appeared to have reached the back of the warehouse. She pushed the small door open to have reached the back of the warehouse. She raised an eyebrow. Trinell expected her to survive violent throws on a wide expanse of pavement? Her head slowly turned as she surveyed the area. It was, quite obviously, deserted. This, of course, meant no one would freak out as Trin started to beat the pint-sized girl up. Taavi sighed with relief as she noticed a semi-grassy area. She moved closer and realized it somewhat soft dirt covered with weeds and crabgrass. Not necessarily the softest place to get hit about like a pinata - but definitely not the worse. Taavi looked around from this new view point, taking in any other scenery that could be helpful later. She also noticed the nearby highway created a loud enough noise that any yells or screams would be covered up. Taavi's head tipped thoughtfully. She somehow doubted Trinell would be shouting or screaming. Well. Shouting was very possible. But screaming? That seemed too much of a wuss like thing for Trinell to do. With a start, Taavi realized Trinell was very manlike in her actions. She carried herself more forcefully than any girl did, and she certainly didn't put up with crap from guys like most girls did. Why wasn't Taavi terrified of Trinell like she was most men? She slumped against a wall that helped to form the warehouse. The tiny girl folded her legs and rested an elbow on one knee, and a chin on her fist. There, while waiting for Trinell to show up, she contemplated the mysteries of her man phobia,

Trinell grunted softly and heaved the thick, coarse rope over her shoulder a little farther, leaning heavily forward to pull the tall group of thick pads along with her. Each bright red pad was about an inch and a half thick with material soft enough to be good for landing on, but firm enough to slow falls and prevent them from going through and hitting the solid, unforgiving ground. The pile was twenty mats tall, with each pad being approximately While Trinell had on more than one occasion trained without the luxury of pads to soften falls (or throws, rather), she didn't want to injure Taavi, especially not when Taavi had not yet had the chance to toughen up.
One day, in the not-too-far-off future, Taavi would be able to practice with Trinell and Dj on the beach without the padding. But for now the empty lot behind the warehouse and a large group of mats would have to do. (Although Trinell didn't think it consciously, she dreaded the day she brought Taavi to practice with Dj for the first time. She had no doubt about the fight they would have on that day.)
Staying true to her ever-cheerful nature, Trinell kept trudging, getting closer to the warehouse with every long step. The mats, tied down on their makeshift sled, would be left hidden in the warehouse after that day if only to make Trinell's trip out to it easier. She had meant to bring them a day or two beforehand, but hadn't had the time; Andrei had suddenly gotten a cold and she'd had to stay there nursing him back to health as he wanted no one other than her to take care of him. The stubborn little kid wouldn't even let DJ take care of him, oddly enough.
The entrance to the warehouse was just a few steps away at this point and Trinell freed one hand from the rope only to reach out and yank the door open swiftly while stepping in to press her back to the door. With one great jerk, she managed to pull the mats inside the abandoned building and pushed it further inside with a light kick to the back before following it in and going back around to the front of it once more. Steadily, she dragged the mats across the warehouse only to stop close to the door that led to the empty lot behind the building and drop the rope. The door was slightly ajar, meaning Taavi was already there.
Sly smirk curling her lips, Trinell opened the door just enough for her to slip her head out and revealed teeth as she saw Taavi propped up against a wall, her legs crossed and one elbow propping her head up. She looked lost in though; perfect.
'First lesson, Taavi, my dear; always be aware of your surroundings.' With that thought in her head, Trinell slipped noiselessly out of the warehouse and took a few long, near-silent steps towards Taavi before launching herself at the slight girl. The tall wolf Shifter let out a cry of triumph as she collided with the little vixen, wrapping her arms firmly around her and cradling her close as she caused them to roll.
Laughter immediately bubbled up from Trinell's throat and she flopped onto her back, releasing Taavi in the process, and splayed her limbs every which way. Her vibrant green eyes were closed with her laughter and, as she began calming down, she began to notice to small, sharp rock that was digging uncomfortably into her right kidney. She shifted slightly, relieving the pressure. "So, Taav, ready to start practice?" She snickered, lifting herself up onto her elbows to grin widely at her little friend. Mischievous emerald eyes locked onto glaring ebony almonds, and the already wide grin grew wider; it was almost able to be considered a leer, especially when coupled with the dark, playful look in Trinell's glowing eyes.
OOC//: I tried not to godmod or anything like that, but if you think I crossed the line on anything let me know and I'll fix it right away, m'kay? And I hope your stupid migraine goes away! DDx -hug-

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i949.photobucket.com/albums/ad340/Toki_Graphix/Regular%20PT/Taavi---Red-Fox-1.png] Taavi sighed and closed her eyes. She leaned her head against the wall, and focused on making her breathing even. She had learned a long time ago that when she did this exercise, it calmed her down, let her think more clearly, and also brought the world around her into a sharper focus. As her breathing deepened and got quieter, Taavi's quick ears were able to pick up smaller sounds and sounds that were further away easier. At first, the sound of the freeway roaring covered up all other sounds, but after a couple of seconds, Taavi begin to hear bird songs and trills, the wind through the trees, and even some small animal - probably a vole or a rat - rustling around in the dead leaves that piled against one side of the warehouse.
Hearing a loud scraping sound, Taavi sat straight up, head cocked in the direction of the sound, eyes still closed. She also heard light footsteps mixed in with small grunts. The scraping sound stopped, and Taavi glanced around, eyes landing on a thick, nearby stick. She casually rested her hand near it. She was ninety percent sure it was Trin in the warehouse, but just in case. . .She leaned back against the warehouse wall, turned her face into a smooth, expressionless mask, and closed her eyes again. She relaxed, earing almost instantly sharpening as her breathing deepened once more. She heard a minuscule crunch of pebbles on chipped and broken cement, and was about to turn and greet the person when she heard a warcry and - WHAM.
The tiny girl barely had enough time to grasp the stick firmly and swing it at the attacker. It connected with a solid and satisfying thump. Taavi smirked, feeling rather proud. That would leave a bruise, and a rather painful one at that. Before she had the chance to beat her attack over the head with her thick branch, Taavi was cradled against the person as they both went rolling head over heels. As their roll came to an end, Taavi swung her stick again, although the crack wasn't quite as satisfying. A joyous laugh rang out and Taavi peered angrily at a grinning Trin. The girl had blocked Taavi's second hit, nonetheless, it would probably still leave a bruise.
Taavi abandoned her stick and tackled Trin, face screwed up in a little scowl. 'DAMN YOU TRINELL LUCY LIIKAER~! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING SCARING THE FUCKING SHIT OUTTA ME?' So angry was Taavi, that she totally missed Trinell's question about being ready to start practice.

Trinell noticed too late the thick stick coming at her head and, knowing that she couldn't dodge it, ducked her head down and took the brunt force of it on the crown of her head. The thump it made against her skull was loud and satisfying and Trinell mentally congratulated Taavi on a solid blow. It didn't stop Trinell, however, nor did it stop her pulling Taavi close and flipping over.
They rolled once before stopping abruptly, Trinell beginning to fall sideways as laughter exploded from her lips. At the same time, she saw the stick coming back at her again but, having had a chance to see it this time, blocked it easily with her forearm. While it was considerably better than being whacked in the head, chances were still good that it would bruise despite how hard it was for Trinell to bruise normally. Being hit head on with a stick could do that to a person.
Flopping backwards onto the ground, Trinell howled with laughter as Taavi leaped on her, a furiously adorable scowl on her face. Even as she asked Taavi if she was ready to begin practice, Trinell got the distinct feeling that Taavi wasn't paying her any attention. Chances were good she was chewing her out mentally. 'Heh, Taav chewing me out mentally is pretty common these days. It's a wonder she even tolerates my presence.' Snickered Trinell, pushing herself up onto her elbows and smirking at Taavi. Balancing on her left arm, she raised the other and knocked on Taavi's skull lightly. "Yo, Taavi. You gonna listen to me now or are you gonna keep chewing me out in your head?" She asked, grinning cheekily at her pupil.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i949.photobucket.com/albums/ad340/Toki_Graphix/Regular%20PT/Taavi---Red-Fox-1.png] Taavi scowled as Trinell continued to laugh joyously. Everything was a joke to the stupid bitch. She couldn’t even take this seriously. This very important day of training Taavi to kick ass wasn’t important enough to warrant seriousness from Trinell. Taavi raised one eyebrow and sat back, a very unusual gesture from a mad and very explosive fox shifter. Trinell smirked, no doubt getting a huge mental laugh out of the entire thing, and raised her right hand enough to knock Taavi on the head with her knuckles. ”Yo, Taavi. You gonna listen to me now or are you gonna keep chewing me out in your head?” Taavi jerked upright and scurried off of Trinell, glaring at her suspiciously a few feet away. Oh yeah, this was why they were friends. Trinell always knew what was going on in Taavi’s head in a totally eerie and creepy way. Trinell was also either daft enough or smart enough to ignore Taavi’s constant bad mood. Maybe she understood that Taavi didn’t always like being grouchy – it just sorta happened. Whatever, it wasn’t important right now. What was important was that Taavi got some training.
Still suspiciously watching Trinell – and totally ready if the girl tried any more fancy flipping – Taavi nodded yes in response to Trin’s earlier question. Let Trinell figure out if she meant “Yes, I’m going to keep chewing you out” or if she meant “Yes, let’s get started.” Both things were probably going to happen. Briefly, Taavi wondered what Trinell would do if she shifted and dodged the taller girl while in fox form. A rare smile slipped up around her lips, lighting up her whole face, as she imagined Trinell’s bafflement. Talk about caught off guard. The smile slipped away and Taavi’s face instantly shuttered closed. Trinell would probably call the cops on Taavi. And if Trinell wasn’t that disloyal, she’d probably never want to talk to Taavi again. Her face turning deadly serious, she settled in and decided to concentrate on whatever Trinell was going to show her. No more drifting off into la-la land and imaging impossible scenarios. Trinell was the closest thing Taavi had ever had to a friend, and she was sure as hell not going to endanger that. That, of course, depended on Trinell not finding out that Taavi was even weirder then the taller girl originally thought. ’Focus on lesson, focus on lesson.’
OhOhSea://
Uhmmm, yes. I’m going to say that this thread was before Taavi found out Trinell was a shifter as well, and say that the thread with Kyo, Taavi, and Trinell is AFTER Taavi found out there are other shifters – naturally born ones, not freaks of science like her xDD Maybe in this thread Trinell and Taavi could discover they were shifters? Like, each other person is a shifter as well as themselves |D I’m going to stop trying to explain this and just get on with it. How would that work though? Because I know Trinell guards that secret with her life, and Taavi sure as heck isn’t gunna – well you read the postie xD
Also, when Taavi is thinking all of that, she’s not being unobservant. Her gaze is focused on Trinell, and if Trinell did so much as flinch she would have broken out of her little trance-like state. And why I couldn’t just put that in the postie I have no idea |D
And I forgot, did we decide Taavi already knows the basics and they’re moving onto throws and such? That’s what I think we decided on. ANYHOO~<3 Lemme know xD
And yes. I know postie is a fail. Shaddup. xD

Trinell couldn't stop the snicker from passing her lips as Taavi hopped off of her quickly and scuttled a few feet away, glaring at her warily and looking like her normal, grouchy self. Trinell quirked a smile at her, taking the smaller girls' nod as a yes that she was going to listen now, rather than keep chewing her out. It was an optimistic view and Trinell knew it fully well.
Contrary to popular belief, her lofty attitude wasn't due to being oblivious to things. Oh, no. It was a direct result of her lack of naivety that gave her her eccentric and energetic personality. She knew how bad some things could get, and she knew how to avoid them while not giving away the fact that she knew she was avoiding them. It came with years of living on the streets and on her own. She knew better than to give all of her secrets away, and one secret she kept strictly to herself and people she was very close to was that she was actually a very observant and very analytical thinker. To put it in common terms, Trinell had a method to her madness and that method had been proven true time and time again.
Hopping to her feet, Trinell grinned widely at Taavi and dusted her bum off. "M'kay! So, Taav. I'm gonna show ya some throws and that's what we're gonna practice today, alright? So pay attention to what I do and I'll help you practice it after you've seen the throws a few times." Said the exuberant teen happily, grin still firmly in place on her face.
"Okay, so, this is the basic over the shoulder throw. Your opponent, enemy, or attacker is standing before you and is reaching out the grab, say, your arm or shoulder." Trinell stood a few feet from Taavi, her feet spread a couple of feet apart to give the tall girl a wide and powerful base. "You want to make sure you have a wide base so that you don't lose your balance and so that you'll have the power you need in order to pull your opponent over your shoulder and throw them onto the ground." Here, Trinell looked pointedly down at her feet and motioned to them. "A wide base is the key to doing a lot of throws correctly. Now, they're reaching out to grab you or have already grabbed your shoulder. What you do from there is pop-" Trinell bent her knees slightly and brought both of her hands up one front of her, palms towards the sky. One was close to her body, and the other father out. "their arm off you and or off course from you by grabbing their wrist with one hand. I normally use my left hand to grab their wrist so that I pull them over my right shoulder." she paused long enough to flex her left hand and turned her palm so the it faced towards the left, the rest of her arm bent and level with her hand. Her right stayed as it was, roughly 9 inches in front of her other hand with the palm still skyward. She clenched this hand as she spoke again. "With your right hand, you'll grab the underside of their upper arm. While you're doing this, you'll bend your knees down and start turning towards the side the your grabbed their wrist with. I grab their wrist with my left hand, so I turn to my left." She demonstrated this slowly, her left foot staying in place as her right trailed out in a loose, wide arc. Her right foot stopped parallel to her left foot. "While you're doing that, you jerk their arm down and across your torso, towards your left side since that's the arm you're leading with, pulling them up against your back, and stand up. This will sound weird, but you'll throw your butt into their gut or hip and step forward with your right leg while yanking as hard as you can on their arm." Slowly Trinell went through the motions, rising to her full height while acting like she was picking something heavy with on her back. From there, she mimicked pulling an arm across her torso, towards her hip, and stepping forward with her right foot. "And that's it! It may seem like a lot, but it really isn't. It's fast, and it's painful, but it's effective and it'll make most people stop what they're doing or trying to do. Most people don't expect to be flung like a ragdoll over a shoulder and slammed into the ground, all within a couple of seconds." Smirked Trinell as she turned back around to face Taavi, a dark, sadistic glint flashing in her green, green eyes. Trinell calmed her look down a bit and stood with her hands on her hips before her tiny student.
"Now, I'll show you a couple more throws then we'll practice them." As Trinell slowly moved through the throws and explained them step by step, she failed to notice a spider scurrying across the wall of the warehouse. She also failed to notice when it began to climb across a web a few feet above her head. So, when the spider - a wolf spider, at that - fell and landed on the back of her neck as she was in the middle of the last throw, Trinell instantly tensed and let a pitiful yelp slip through her lips. But when that spider took off down the back of her shirt not even a millisecond later, Trinell couldn't help the horrified and disgusted yell that exploded from her throat, nor could she help her sudden, freaked Shift into her wolf form. Quickly, faster than she normally moved, Trinell threw herself onto her back and squirmed across the ground, whining and whimpering the entire time.
Rolling quickly onto her belly, Trinell did her best to scratch the back of her neck and couldn't repress her shivers of disgust, her whines almost one constant sound now. If Taavi could understand her, all she would have heard was one steady stream of, "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" However, since Taavi was only human and Trinell was suddenly a wolf, there was no way the girl would be able to understand.
Trinell froze, suddenly realizing she had broken the number one rule of Shapeshifters. Never, under any circumstances, tell a non-Shifter that you could Shift! Trinell whined again this time, for a different reason of course, and turned to stare worriedly at Taavi, her eyes pleading.
Unlike in her human form, the scar on her face was in full view while in this form, albeit a bit harder to see due to the thick fur surrounding it. It went from the edge of her right eye down across her cheek in a smooth crescent arc and tapered off into a sharp tip at the base of her jaw. Thanks to the dark fur Trinell had it was somewhat hidden. However, said dark fur just drew more attention to her bright green eyes, which were currently staring pleadingly at Taavi. 'Please, please, PLEASE don't freak out Taavi! Please don't!'
So worried was she about Taavi panicking that she didn't think about anyone else possibly hearing anything as she Shifted back into her human form, a mortified look on her face. "Taavi, please, please, please don't tell anyone about this. It could be the end of me, or worse. It'll just be our secret; only you and I will know that I can turn into a wolf. I'll teach you any move you want, just please don't tell anyone!" Begged Trinell, not caring that she never begged. She had to keep Taavi from telling people that she was a Shifter somehow! And she'd be damned if she didn't figure it out fast, too.
OOC//: 1449 WORDS TOTAL. HODAMN.
Also.

"M'kay! So, Taav. I'm gonna show ya some throws and that's what we're gonna practice today, alright? So pay attention to what I do and I'll help you practice it after you've seen the throws a few times." Momentarily distracted, Taavi wondered how Trin's face hadn't split in half yet. That girl was constantly smiling. If Taavi didn't know better, she'd swear that Trin's face was frozen in a smile. Trinell continued talking, carefully explaining what she was doing as she did it. "Okay, so, this is the basic over the shoulder throw. Your opponent, enemy, or attacker is standing before you and is reaching out the grab, say, your arm or shoulder." The taller girl spread her feet apart, showing Taavi how to properly have a powerful base. "You want to make sure you have a wide base so that you don't lose your balance and so that you'll have the power you need in order to pull your opponent over your shoulder and throw them onto the ground." Taavi watched Trinell, sharp eyes keenly watching her every move. "A wide base is the key to doing a lot of throws correctly. Now, they're reaching out to grab you or have already grabbed your shoulder. What you do from there is pop-" Trinell bent her knees and put both hands in front of her. Taavi mocked her moves, although she didn't move as confidently as Trinell did. "their arm off you and or off course from you by grabbing their wrist with one hand. I normally use my left hand to grab their wrist so that I pull them over my right shoulder." 'Use my left hand to grab their wrist and pull them over my right shoulder...' Taavi mentally repeated, mind totally focused on the lesson now. She again copied Trinell as the wolf-girl went through the throwing motions. "With your right hand, you'll grab the underside of their upper arm. While you're doing this, you'll bend your knees down and start turning towards the side the your grabbed their wrist with. I grab their wrist with my left hand, so I turn to my left." Taavi nodded, mind instantly connecting the whole 'grab with the left hand, turn to the left' and the 'grab with your right hand, turn to the right' thing. "While you're doing that, you jerk their arm down and across your torso, towards your left side since that's the arm you're leading with, pulling them up against your back, and stand up. This will sound weird, but you'll throw your butt into their gut or hip and step forward with your right leg while yanking as hard as you can on their arm." Trinell went through the complete set of motions, slowly so Taavi could follow along. Then, with Trinell watching and correcting her stance periodically, Taavi went through the motions several times - at first moving slowly, but then able to snap through the move properly. "And that's it! It may seem like a lot, but it really isn't. It's fast, and it's painful, but it's effective and it'll make most people stop what they're doing or trying to do. Most people don't expect to be flung like a ragdoll over a shoulder and slammed into the ground, all within a couple of seconds." "Especially by a girl under five foot." Taavi added, hands flashing while a small, slightly sadistic, grin spread across her face. It didn't surprise her that Trinell wore a similar look. It was just another one of the reasons Trinell and Taavi were such good friends.
"Now, I'll show you a couple more throws then we'll practice them." Trinell repeated the earlier process, with Taavi following along just as attentively. Taavi, as did Trinell, failed to notice a wolf spider scrambling across the vertical wall of the warehouse. When the spider dangled above Trinell's head, Taavi briefly saw it, but didn't think much of it. She wasn't scared of spiders, and didn't really give a crap about the one above them. Her mind skipped over the spider, barely recognizing it as something of importance. Needless to say, it came as a bit of a surprise when Trinell jumped up with a shriek from the poor spider scurrying down her back. Taavi instantly tensed, alert for any danger. She scanned the area, wondering what in the hell had caused Trinell to scream. Trinell was not the screaming type. Seeing nothing to alarm, Taavi turned her attention towards Trinell, mind still focusing on the area around her. It took Taavi a long moment to register that there was no more Trinell. In her place was a large mutt - no, wolf - squirming around on it's back, whimpering. Taavi simply stared, almond eyes wide, and mouth rounded into a nearly perfect "o." The wolf rolled onto her belly, scratching at the back of her neck with one of her hind legs. From her mouth came a steady whine, and Taavi would only imagine what she was saying. Taavi's mind stuttered and came to a halt. For once the girl was truly speechless.
Apparently Trinell seemed to realize what she did, for she froze for a moment while her eyes flickered towards Taavi. A tiny, unsure whine came from deep in her throat, while Trinell's eyes silently pleaded with Taavi. The Asian girl could imagine what Trinell was thinking. Her mind still blank, Taavi took a slow two steps forward before dropping to her knees in front of Trinell. She lifted one trembling hand and lightly and hesitantly traced the scar on Trinell's face. Strange how a person's mind worked in situations like this. Instead of being able to focus on the full, stunning blow of Trinell being a shifter, Taavi's mind focused on the scar. Taavi had seen glimpses of it before, when Trinell would spin a certain way, or lean another way, but never in full view. She briefly wondered where it came from, but then Trinell shifted back to human, interrupting Taavi's train of thought.
Trinell knelt in front of Taavii, green eyes still desperately pleading. "Taavi, please, please, please don't tell anyone about this. It could be the end of me, or worse. It'll just be our secret; only you and I will know that I can turn into a wolf. I'll teach you any move you want, just please don't tell anyone!" Taavi's mind gears slowly began moving again, slow at first, but then faster. 'Any...move?' She wondered shrewdly, keeping her face frozen in the disbelief shock mode. Taavi's mind then jumped to the possibility of blackmailing Trinell with this information. She'd never actually reveal the whole 'Trinell is a shifter' thing because Taavi was a shifter as well, but it still was tempting to consider lording this over Trinell - especially considering the pictures Trinell constantly used to manipulate Taavi. 'Maybe do a trade? Embarrassing pictures for the secret to remain safe?' Taavi seriously considered this for about two seconds before she sighed, visibly relaxing. 'Damn.' No matter how much Trinell irritated her, Taavi could never use something this serious against her. Taavi's lips flickered into a slight smile, her brown eyes warm and reassuring. "Your secret is safe with me. That's what friends are for, right?" A mischievous twinkle appeared in Taavi's eyes, "But you still have to teach me any move I want." Her hands hesitated, and Taavi's brow furrowed slightly. She wasn't quite sure how to say this since she didn't know how to say 'shifter' in sign language. Visibly uncertain, her hands traced out the words, "I am too." Taavi had no idea how else to word it. Her mouth twisted sideways, and she nervously clenched her hands into fists, fingernails digging into the palms of her hands. Trinell could always decide Taavi was a freak of nature.

If there was one thing Trinell absolutely could not stand, it was spiders. More so than that, she couldn't stand them being on her person. Spiders didn't scare her - oh, no - but they did creep her out, and she absolutely despised the feeling of them crawling anywhere on her. If she absolutely, positively, no-joke had to tolerate it, she would. As soon as a chance to get it off of her arose, however, she leaped on it without a seconds hesitation. So, really, when she had a miniature heart attack from the spider -which she belatedly realized was a wolf spider, ironically- it was nothing surprising. If you knew about her disgust for them, that is.
Stronger than finding spiders creepy, however, was the sudden gut-wrenching terror that gripped her heart with icy fingers and slowly, almost painfully, tried to tug it out of her chest with the force of her heartbeats. Her terror didn't abide at all when Taavi took slow steps toward her, nor when she gently traced the scar that marred Trinell's face. This fact was further proven by Trinell's sudden Shifting back into her primary form and pleading with the mute girl not to tell anyone, to please not tell anyone. Trinell was a proud girl and Taavi, if not everyone who'd ever met Trinell, knew it. Trinell did not beg, she did not plead, and she did not cry. But in the face of her life truly being put on the line by one of her closest friends, Trinell swallowed her pride and begged and pleaded, just barely keeping the tears of horror out of her eyes and her vision clear.
The gentle smile Taavi gave her kept her from pleading some more, working also to ease her fears a little. Maybe Taavi wouldn't rat her out. God, please let Taavi be a true enough friend to not rat her out. "Your secret is safe with me. That's what friends are for, right?" Trinell released a huge sigh, relaxing instantly, and the fear in her eyes almost completely disappeared. What was left of it turned to wariness as a devious glint appeared in Taavi's eyes, the silent girl's hands flying once more as she cheekily signed, "But you still have to teach me any move I want."
Trinell couldn't help the bark of laughter that jumped from her throat, forcing the girl to toss her head back and just laugh. "Fine, fine. I'll teach you whatever move you want, but only when you're ready." She shot back, just as cheeky as her smaller friend. She became somewhat worried, however, as Taavi's hands hesitated and her brows pulled together, forming an almost worried look on her face. She was clearly unsure of something as she signed, "I am too." before clenching her fists and watching Trinell worriedly.
She was too? Wait, did she mean she was a Shifter too? 'Of course she does, idiot! What else would she be? A guy? Pfft, yeah right!' Pulling out of her short mental tirade, Trinell all but beamed at Taavi. "You're a Shifter too? That's so awesome! I can introduce you to a ton of other Shifter's now! Hey, hey! What are you? You obviously already know that I'm a wolf."
Absently, Trinell noted that the mats were still inside the warehouse and that, were they to continue Taavi's training, they would need to bring them out. After all, Trinell needed to have Taavi throw her to make sure that she had them down. Although watching Taavi practice the throws made her confident that Taavi could do it, Trinell wanted to be absolutely certain. It had to become like second nature to Taavi in order for Trinell to feel that she didn't have to worry about her so much when Taavi was away from her.

"Fine, fine." She replied, causing the devious sparkle in Taavi's eyes to grow to the tiniest of smiles. "I'll teach you whatever move you want, but only when you're ready." Taavi nodded in assent. It made sense to be only taught moves that you were capable of handling. Plus, Taavi trusted Trinell not to try and hold her back. Taavi turned her attention back to Trinell. The girl's eyebrows were pulled together, with a slightly puzzled look across her face. Clenching her fists tighter, Taavi leaned forward slightly, trying to get a better look into Trinell's eyes. After a couple of seconds of silence that seemed to stretch on forever, Trinell's face brightened. "You're a Shifter too? That's so awesome! I can introduce you to a ton of other Shifter's now!" Taavi let out a small sigh of relief. It was stupid of her to think that Trinell would have rejected her. In fact, even if Trin wasn't a shifter, Taavi still bet the girl wouldn't have turned her into the authorities or anything. If anything, Trinell would be overly exuberant about Taavi's ability and help the smaller girl with hiding it.
"Hey, hey! What are you? You obviously already know that I'm a wolf." Taavi's eyes held onto Trinell's as she shifted into a rather small red fox. Standing at a mere eleven inches, Taavi puffed out her little chest and flicked her puffy tail proudly. She spun around in a circle and yipped at Trinell, feeling muscles long unused stretching. Following a sudden impulse, she darted around the back of the warehouse, following the fence line. Feeling incredibly free, Taavi allowed her mind to wanter. Wait. What had Trinell said earlier? 'A load of other shifters?' The vulpine froze in mid-stride and stared at Trinell with something akin to shock. The fox's mind raced and Taavi remembered an encounter with a human boy named Zach that had happened a couple of weeks ago. From him she had learned there were others like her, but Taavi had assumed there were only three or four other shifters. "More shifters?!" Taavi yelped, coming to stand in front of Trinell. Suddenly realizing the girl couldn't understand her, Taavi shifted back into her human form. "More animal people?" Taavi repeated, still unable to find a sign that meant 'shifter.' "How many more? Who made them? Who made you?" Taavi tipped her head to the right, confusion plainly written across her face. Who had made so many shifters? Who could have funded so many? Worry, confusion, and a bit of angst flickered across her face, each taking their turn.

If there was anything Trinell loved about Taavi, it was the fact that, despite her fiery attitude, she did have a brain and she knew fully well how to use it. As the small girl nodded in acceptance of Trinell's terms, Trinell felt that she could finally relax and she did so with great relief.
As Taavi revealed herself to be a Shifter as well, Trinell couldn't help but feel even happier. It was simply amazing! Taavi, her spitfire little Taavi, was a Shifter just like her. That was a pretty big thing to have in common, even in Shelpey Alley.
Asking what Taavi's Shift form was resulted in the tiny girl Shifting suddenly into a delicate looking red fox. She raised her head high, puffed out her tiny little chest, and wagged her fluffy tail proudly before spinning around and yipping at Trinell. "You are so cuuuuuute!" Cooed Trinell, face split by a massive adoring grin. The wolf Shifter's glowing green eyes followed her friend as she took off suddenly, sprinting around and enjoying her Shifted form. Seeing Taavi like that, having so much fun, made Trinell feel a warm sense of happiness and made her almost Shift to join the smaller canine. However, she stayed where she was and just watched. There would always be time for them to play together in their Shifter forms later, anyways.
When Taavi slammed on her brakes suddenly, Trinell instantly perked up and went on the alert, ears and eyes straining to find something that would cause the little fox to stop so randomly. But when Taavi ran up to her and yipped excitedly before Shifting back to her human form and signing, "More animal people? How many more? Who made them? Who made you?" Trinell relaxed her guard and blinked in confusion. How many? Made them? Made her? She barely caught the shifting expressions on Taavi's face but they were noted with concern on the taller girl's part.
"Well, I don't know how many there are in total but I know at least twenty pretty well, and know of at least twenty others. As for being made... I think I was just born this way. A lot of the Shifters I know have told me that they've been able to do it since they were little. I only found out about my ability a few good years ago." She said, confusion lacing her tone at the end. "Did someone make you a Shifter?" She asked, head tilted to the side just enough to expose the bottom end of her scar. "Will it be easier to talk in our other forms? Can you talk in your fox form?" Trinell knew they were a lot of questions, but she felt they were fairly important and hey, maybe they'd be able to communicate better in their Shifted forms.
Trinell couldn't help the little snort of amusement that broke free at the thought of trying to use sign language while having paws. Oh, she would fail so hard. She just knew it.
