A small shudder escaped Hail's small body as his Hero took the keys from his fidgeting hands and rested a hand on his left shoulder. Before he had time to react further, his Hero's other hand reached over his remaining shoulder and unlocked the door in front of him. Hail jumped as he suddenly heard whispering in his ear: "I'm Cayden."
Before Hail could jump away, his Hero had shifted his position and now held the door to his apartment open, and signaled for him to go inside. "Well, come on in. You're probably colder then me at this point." He said, smiling invitingly. He took a few steps in and turned on the light, revealing the mass of scarcely furnished white walls that he called a home. The living room they stepped into had a coffee table literally COVERED with coasters, a black couch, and a TV. Just off to the side of the living room was the Kitchen, which was barely big enough for one person to work in, and beside that was his bathroom which had the strong aroma of air fresheners pouring out of it. The last room was the bedroom which had a bed, a nightstand, a dresser, and a desk with a certain 'cursed' computer sitting on it.
With a relieved face, Hail turned around and locked the door as Cayden walked inside. "Feel free to make yourself at home. Do you want a drink? Coffee?" He offered, taking off his shoes and putting them on the floor next to the door. He took two steps into his home and then realized one crucial thing he hadn't told Cayden yet. "My name is Hail, by the way." He said, spinning on his heel. He pushed a few strands of white hair out of his eyes and approached the kitchen.

Pleased as the boy finally stepped into the room, he followed the example. Raising a hand to brush his hair to the side again as it fell infront of his face, he looked around. The confined area surprised him, he had to admit he hadn't expected it to be a mansion or anything but it was terribly small, for his or anyone's tastes he would imagine. "His cleanliness is imaculate." There wasn't a speck of dust anywhere from what he could tell, he raised an eyebrow.
"Do you want a drink? Coffee?" The boy walk around him towards the kitchen, turning on his heal before he had a chance to respond. "My name is Hail, by the way." Cayden smiled as turned back into the confined space. Hail.. The name suited him, quite obviously, his parents figured that too appearently.
"Coffee is fine," He called, carefully slipping off his sneakers and placing them neatly beside Hail's. Following where the kid had dissapeared he quickly shadowed accross the archway, "But you shouldn't be making it. Go sit down, I can do it." He managed to skoot past the boy to his other side. It was pretty straight forward, the coffee was already nearly done in the coffee maker, He'd just have to get a couple cups and wait for it to finish.
It was a good thing he was skinny, he barely fit in this so called kitchen. A cheap florresant light shawn above them, making the bare white walls glow annoyingly. "Shoo, go sit. I can handle this." A mock grin hid the worry he still felt for the kid, he wondered why he took such an immediate liking to the boy. Ah well. The warm scent of the ground coffee started to waft through the appartment, it's soothing aroma was something he'd grown up with, it reminded him so much of home.
He leaned against the back counter and gave Hail a small nudge to get going.

Hail was already in the kitchen when he heard Cayden's answer, but was glad that he only had to prepare one drink. He was scooping the coffee powder into the brewer when he realized that his Hero had followed him into the cramped kitchen. "But you shouldn't be making it. Go sit down, I can do it." He said, entering the room. Good thing I'm not claustrophobic... Hail thought as he pushed the button on the coffee maker after pouring in his water.
Hail turned around to realize that Cayden had moved to the other side of him, unnoticed. "I'm fine, Cayden. You go sit down. You must be tired or sore from fighting off that guy..." He said, taking a deep breath through his nose of the aroma already floating in the air. "Shoo, go sit." Cayden said, still trying to get Hail to relax.
Cayden nudged Hail slightly and leaned against the counter. Hail merely smiled and sat on the counter next to the coffee machine. After a second of silence, he looked over at Cayden again. "You can use my bed tonight if you want. I sleep on the couch a lot, anyway." He offered, trying to be as generous as possible. It's not every day a random stranger saves your life.
"Do you think that guy could have killed me?" He asked, a bit of worry finally showing in his voice. His heart was pounding in his chest as he thought about what could have happened. "I mean, stuff like this happens every day in our world. It's almost inevitable for some kind of crime to happen nearly every day. People steal things and kill people and violate people... It's horrible to think about." He rambled, staring up at the ceiling, which seemed to glow from the lightbulb shining on it. "I keep asking myself what would have happened if you weren't around, or if you'd been too afraid to take on that guy... It's scary, you know?"
Hail opened his mouth to speak more, but a small beep from the coffee maker interrupted him. "Looks like it's done." He said, hopping down from the counter before turning around. He took two mugs from a nearby cabinet and filled them up.

Ingoring his attempts, hail took a spot accross from him on the cold granite countertop. Cayden sighed inwardly, silence crept over them like snow blanketing a muffled landscape. Small clicks and drips came from the coffee machine as it grinded, it was almost mesmirizing and he let the soft sounds comfort him for a little while. Lids slid closed half way, the glare of the light burning his eyes.
"You can use my bed tonight if you want, I sleep on the couch a lot anyway." Cayden remained silent, something in his tone kept him hushed, he had to let him finish. "Do you think that guy could have killed me?" The carefree expression he'd had seemed to flicker away from his face, leaving the one he'd expect to find on the boy. His eyebrows furled and he frowned lightly, the small figure was starting to shake a bit. "It's horrible to think about.. I keep asking myself what would have happened if you weren't around, or if you'd been too afraid to take on that guy..."
Beep. The sound of the coffee maker cut him off, and he quickly got out the mugs and started to fill them to the top. Cayden pulled away from the counter and stood beside the boy, raising a hand to brush some of the hair out of Hail's face. "You don't have to think about that, though." His soothing tone carefully placed, he tried to look reassuring. "He shouldn't have gone through this." He could feel his heart clammering to keep up with his racing pulse, even with this slightest touch. "I was there, he's not going to bother you again, and you don't have to worry." He finished strongly, pulling his hand away and stuffing it in his pocket.
He grabbed his cup of coffee up off the counter, careful not to stray from the handle to the burning porcelain. Leaning down he blew over the rim to cool it, taking a small sip. A change in subject right now would probably be best, the last thing the boy needed was to overthink everything. The small refrigerator in the corner of the room clicked into a low hum, He leaned against the counter again, making sure not to take his eyes off the boy beside him.
"Hail, I don't think I could intrude so much as to take your bed." He raised an eyebrow over another sip of the hot coffee.

Hail had just put the now empty coffee pot back in it's place when a familiar hand brushed some hair out of his eyes, making him blush briefly. "You don't have to think about that, though." Cayden said, his voice comforting him immediately. He was about to open his mouth to speak, but Cayden continued, "I was there, he's not going to bother you again, and you don't have to worry." It's true. Cayden was there. He... saved me. That's why I can manage to feel safe tonight... and maybe for many nights in the future. There may be bad people in this world, but there are also a lot of good people.
Hail's thoughts were broken when Cayden changed the subject on him suddenly. "Hail, I don't think I could intrude so much as to take your bed." He said, taking a sip of the coffee. He drinks black coffee? What a weirdo. He thought, opening the refrigerator next to him and taking out the milk. He poured a bit in and put it away before looking up at his Hero. "You're my guest, so I have to treat you well. Making you sleep on the couch, which is probably too short for you, would be rude." He said, walking out of the kitchen with his coffee.
Hail moved across the pale red carpets and sat down on the sofa before taking a drink of his coffee and setting it down on a coaster. He took the remote (which was sitting on top of a few coasters) and turned on the TV, changing the channel to the cooking network nearly immediately. A woman was talking about how she was seasoning a large chicken. He watched the image dully for a moment before putting the remote down and taking another sip of his coffee.
"Is there anything you'd like to watch?" He asked Cayden, barely paying much attention to the show that he had put on.

"You're my geust, I have to treat you well." He had to dissagree, but as he mentioned the couch he supposed he did have to agree with that, although most nights, he hardly ever slept like this.. He put the thought out of his mind, he couldn't think about that while he was with Hail. He quickly followed the kid into the living area, taking a seat on the boy's left. He set his Black Coffee down on the Coaster filled table, barely holding back a laugh at the extent of his OCD-like cleanliness.
Images flickered on the screen as Hail started to flip through the channels, landing on a cooking network show. "Is there anything you'd like to watch?" Cayden leaned back against the couch, at his side Hail's attention seemed blurred, he was stareing at the telivision but he wasn't really watching. Was there something on his mind? He hoped he wasn't over thinking. Feeling uncomfortable he leaned forward again, his elbows resting on his knees as he grabbed his mug and took another longer drink.
The raven looked to the side at Hail, His green eyes twinkling in the low light. "You should get some sleep, It was late already when you went out earlier. There isn't very long until sunrise." Taking another drink of his coffee, he nearly drained the still rather hot cup, he didn't want to be rude and not finish. He hadn't seen a clock around the house, at the back of his mind he wondered how long he had..

Hail dully watched the television as Cayden sat down and began drinking more coffee. He could tell that he was starting to get tired, but he HAD to wait until Cayden went to sleep first. He could never go to sleep with his shirt on, but removing his shirt would let Cayden see the ugly birthmark he had. He HAD to avoid that. Cayden's voice startled him slightly as he felt his eyes drooping slightly.
"You should get some sleep, It was late already when you went out earlier. There isn't very long until sunrise." He said, starting a conversation. Hail blinked and looked over at his Hero. "You should get some sleep, too." He said before reaching out and taking a sip of his forgotten coffee. After putting the cup down, he smiled. "Go on to sleep. I'll be fine, I promise." He said, being rather blunt about it.
Hail looked back at the television for a moment and took the remote in his hand. He flipped the channel back and forth, and the time displayed at the bottom-right corner of the screen. "Wow, it's just about 6 AM... I shouldn't have taken that nap earlier." He stated, groaning. His sleep schedule would be thrown off for a week because of all of this. Go to sleep, Cayden. It's not that hard... He commanded in his thoughts, hoping desperately that it would work. He took another sip of coffee.

Cayden took his cue quickly, Smiling and taking both their mugs. "Alright, I'll be here when you wake up." He was going to add in a funny last remark, but decided against it at the last second. He didn't want to give him any reason to dream anything but happyness. Dissapearing around the corner, he placed the mugs on the kitchen sink counter, being sure to put them down as softly as he could so as not to desturb the snow haired boy in the next room.
Always careful to be silent, he slipped around into the bedroom. It was small, not heavily furnished, but that was of no immediate surprise. An old computer hummed in the corner, the screen turned off, giving off an earie sort of dark glow. The bed was made perfectly, it was almost a shame to ruin it, not that was planning to anyways. It's already almos morning, sleeping at this point would be bad. Especially considering the time.
Walking around to a palid bare wall next to the kitchen's archway, he crossed his legs and leaned as comfortably as he could against it. As much as he hated to admit it, his muscles burned numbly, light enough to be annoying and sore. His knuckles were a harsh pink where they had contacted with that grisly face, but it was be gone by morning. The important thing here is that Hail is safe, and that man won't be coming back. He convinced himself for about the hundreth time.
His eyes closed as he let himself drift into a half slumber, still alert to his surroundings.

Cayden had caught on to his hint. "Alright, I'll be here when you wake up." He said, taking both mugs off of the table. A slight sigh of relief escaped his lips. One of his fears was that his Hero would be leaving when he went to sleep. Cayden disappeared into the kitchen, then obviously went to the bedroom, and Hail was relieved yet again.
Hail looked up quickly to check that the door was locked, then looked over towards the door to his bedroom quickly to make sure that Cayden wasn't coming back. He finally made sure that he was safe, and he slipped out of his shirt, revealing his pale torso to the darkness. Barely able to keep his eyes open, he lay his head down on the arm of the couch and fell into a light sleep.
He dreamed he was a rabbit curled up in a hole, trying to get warm.

A few stray Birds chirped from outside the apartment, Soft natural morning light flooded the space giving the space an odd gleam in it's un-natural condition. Cayden's Gentle green eyes slid half open as he stifled a small yawn. Raising his hand, the noticed the darkened Pink had started to fade from his knuckles, and the soreness that had ailed him only hours before was starting to fade away. "Mm.." He pushed himself away from the wall, stretching backwards in a cat-like motion, his wrists cracking as he rotated them stiffly. Blinking a few times he let the sleepyness fade from his eyes, His lack of complete sleep hindering.
'I wonder if Hail is up yet.'He wondered Vaguely, Running his fingers through his layered mess of hair. His sniffled, dust settling around the air making him Crinkle his nose and he let out a drawn out sigh. Should he go and check on Hail? He didn't want to wake him up.. Stalking around the corner into the kitchen He leaned against the countertop stareing down at his shoes with mild curiousity as he called the boy.
"Hail, you up?" He tried not to be too loud, or look in the direction where he knew the boy was sleeping. He supposed he'd get his answer in a moment.
