Gabriel raised a brow, a mocking look gleaming in his piercing eyes. He chuckled, harsh and cold as he inquired, "Finish it? Why would I finish something that has only just begun? Death is something that only the worthy deserve, and you are not worthy." He seemingly spat the last few words, neck cracked as he shifted his muscles. His grin pulled at the edges of his teeth, devilish and cruel. He stood up, brushing the sand off him before he reached into his pocket to pull out a cell phone.
Walking a few feet away from the girl he dialed a few numbers, his voice taking on an innocent tone as he spoke into the phone, "I heard screams and growls coming from the beach, I think someones hurt, could you send someone quick?" He listened to the police talk on the other phone, then he clicked his cell phone shut. Walking back to the girl, his hand went into the pockets of his coat as he looked down at her.
He smiled quickly as he saw the red and blue lights flashing down the street, a few squad cars had arrived. Gabriel looked down at the girl and whispered coldly, "This is only the beginning." Then he turned and rushed to the water's edge, the police slowly starting down the beach in the other direction. He leaped into the icy water, his body fully submerged. When he can back to the surface, he was a white lion again, proud and wild. He charged back to the shore, a monstrous roar leaping from his maw. The police yelled and froze, an officer shouted and fired. The bullet grazed Gabriel's shoulder and he turned and ran.
The police found the girl, they called an ambulance and helped her into a stretched with the medics. They searched for the lion but it was long gone. Officer Maves had an idea on what it really was, that it wasn't just a lion. The girl couldn't be questioned until she was in better condition, right now, she was almost dead. She was lucky to have survived an attack by a lion.
Gabriel easily outran them, turning and twisting along until they were speaks on the shore. He was soon far enough away to shift and walk home as if nothing had happened. The bullet wound stung on his shoulder, but it was all show. He could have avoided the bullet, but it would ensure the police that it had been a real lion.
He hurried quickly, he had long thrown his cell phone into the sea, knowing that they could track him with it. Using a false name to register it was also a good idea for him. The girl would be fine, get medical help, everything that she needed to live. But, would anyone believe her story? Would she even tell anyone? He assumed not. They would think she was crazy. She didn't even know his name, which was just how he liked it. Oh yes he would find her again, but she wouldn't find him.
[ooc: Malicious enough? xD I hope there isn't any power playing in here, i tried not to but I might have.]

ooc- Quite malicious. It'll be interesting to see how this game of cat and mouse unravels. Do you want me to continue posting, as if another day? If you'd like, I can continue here or start a brand new thread somewhere else! What do you think?

It was mid afternoon at the Harbor. The summer air was warm and the skies were decorated with a whimsical display of wispy white clouds. The boardwalk that overlooked the calm waters seemed busy, but it wasn't that bad. The place had a calmness to it, a serenity that even the most violent thunderstorms could not shake off. The Harbor seemed like a safe haven; a place children could come to with ice cream and watch the seagulls and boats and play on the beach. For Tameri, this place was a nightmare.
She leaned against the wooden frame of the boardwalk, looking out across the water and pure sands. The wind that teased her midnight black hair seemed playful almost, but Tameri didn't notice it. Her troubled green eyes watched the horizon carefully, looking for nothing in particular. Being here for her wasn't a god-awful experience. No. Tameri came here because she didn't see why she couldn't enjoy something just because of a little...incident. Try as hard as she might, the Egyptian found it difficult to see the place in good light again. She'd been coming here everyday for the past week, somehow hoping that the traumatic experience would give way to her will, and the Harbor could become her safe haven once more. That would not happen, most likely.
Shifting her weight, the almond-complexioned woman continued watching the horizon. She was dressed comfortably today, having donned on a pair of light gray shorts and a plain white t-shirt. Her flipflops were broken in and she was wearing her favorite chapstick. Even with everything so perfect, Tameri felt like, well...shit. She closed her eyes and welcomed the darkness for a moment. She began to remember.
She watched him with horror now. He would not kill her. Tameri had never felt the urge to scream this much until now. She froze and listened to the mock cry for help. A look of defeat washed over her pretty features and Tameri heard the sirens in the distance. They did not comfort her. Nothing could comfort her. His words were like icy poison, seeping into her wounds and bearing a constant reminder that she would remain his prey until he decided to kill her. Until he got bored.
She closed her eyes again. There was nothing she could do. She was helpless and she hated it. By now, Tameri was exhausted mentally and physically. She let the pain consume her body. What did it look like now? Probably burned wood. Quickly, as if giving up, Tameri fell unconscious just after she'd heard the sound of a gun shot...
Being a shape shifter and all, Tameri proved to be quite resilient. She recovered just fine, though there were scars to document the onslaught. She'd been in the hospital for four days. The first day had consisted of emergency surgery and blood transfusions. The second day had been devoted to recovery. The third day Tameri had x-rays taken and her broken bones bandaged. The fourth was a cushion day, to make sure all was well. Her time at the hospital was a little more than a blur. She remembered the pain and the uncomfortable smell of sterile stuff. She had once been glad to be out of the hospital, but when the police interrogations began, Tameri wished otherwise.
She hadn't told them anything. It was an easy out. Claiming to have remembered nothing of the incident, Tameri's assault remained a mystery to the police force at Shelpey Alley. Of course, her answers only brought on requests that she go see a therapist. Hah! Tameri liked to think she was a little bit more independent than that.
It took four and a half weeks for Tameri's ribs to heal to perfection. The only things that did not heal fully, was one particularly nasty scar that stretched from the tip of her shoulder blade down to her elbow. In due time, Tameri had no doubt that that would disappear as well. She also had no doubt that her "aggressor" would return, too.
She opened her eyes again and took in the happy scene. It looked happy, but why couldn't she feel happy? Tameri wanted to snarl, but she refrained from doing so. Her inner hyena had been acting up lately. It was weird. Tameri felt different. Resting her elbows against the wood Tameri continued to think to herself. At least she was alone here, and okay. She wasn't great or anything but she was definitely okay, and that was better than a lot of things. The twenty-two-year-old looked down at her feet. Yeah. Things could be worse. He could have been a rapist. He could have broken her legs and arms. He could have mashed in her face. Tameri gained momentum and realized that all these things and more didn't happen to her! Things could be worse!
She felt her heart sink and a cold fear ran its course through her spine when she realized that Gabriel would be back and this time things would be worse.

The day was hot, the air pleasant with a light breeze that took away the heat and made the day fairly nice. The scars had healed on Gabriel's fine features, not that he had too many that would leave a mark. Only the slash across his jaw remained as a pale streak, the bullet wound on his shoulder healed up, the stitches long pulled out and the wound healed. His weeks with a private doctor served with no question asked about his injuries.
Dressed finely, a slim black suite jacket and thin slacks, he always looked like he just came from a wedding.. or funeral. Clean shaved, eyes bright and innocent, he walked down the boardwalk getting looks of admiration, not hatred or horror as he would be getting if they really knew him. Green eyes flashed as he watched the humans around him, eyed women especially.
His tall stature walked loftily as he smelled the ocean air and felt the sun warm his back. He hummed softly, a smile caressing his lips as he walked with his hands tucked in his pockets. He thought over the pretty girl that he had marked, maimed as his to hunt.
His tongue swiped over his teeth as he thought of her, how pretty and fair she was. A shifter, a hyena. It amused him, to have a play thing that he could keep alive and bat about like a mouse. How savory her fear had been, her willingness to die, to let go. The horror that had washed over her face when he had left her to the police, sparing her life, but letting her know that he would be back for a second round. This is only the beginning.
He strolled to the boardwalk, walking silently. He looked out at the sea, looking over the spot where he had attacked the pretty girl. His fingers lingered on the worn wood of the frame of the board walk, eyes flickering over the ocean as boats passed by and sea birds flew over the tide.
His eyes traveled down the boardwalk. His gaze froze when he caught sight of a familiar form. His eyes flooded with a excited desire. Teeth showed against his lips in a grin. His prey had returned to the hunting grounds, almost as if she wanted him to find her again. He smirked, shoulders rolled once before he walked slowly, at a leisure, towards her.
He strided up beside her, eyes lingered over her beautiful form with twisted poison as he purred a silk soft whisper, "How the prey returns to the hunting grounds; are you keen on pain, or did you just miss me pretty girl?" He grinned and moved behind her, towering over with his broad shoulders and barreled chest.
His bodice was close to hers, his hands snaked around her waist, a dark rumbling growl echoing from his thick chest. Being in public made it a no blood zone, but there were always fun games to play, with or without blood. His eyes flashed with a yellow tint for a second as the sun caught them, twisted malice showing for a second before they turned back to the hansom innocence.
People that walked by paid them no mind. Gabriel was smart enough to act cool and polite in public, at least, out of other people's hearing he could show his true self.

She felt the sudden closeness of someone and before Tameri could react he had appeared. Her eyes widened in poorly hidden shock as she grasped at the wooden edge of the boardwalk. He whispered in her ear and Tameri made a face that showed even his cool and collective voice was not welcome. She had been about to leave but the lion-esque man skirted smoothly around her and now had her gently pressed up against the barrier that overlooked the pretty water. The cold fury that she had once drowned in was now diminished. Tameri kept herself composed. The last thing she wanted to was for him to realize the effect that he had on her.
She felt his warm arms slip around her waist. Instinctively Tameri clutched his wrist with her left hand, trying to stay his hands from wandering anywhere else. She grasped tightly, though she knew her grip would not be enough to harm him. To a passerby, it would look like an embrace between lovers. For Tameri however, she was doing what she could to ensure her own safety and comfort.
His closeness made her nervous and Tameri tried her best to not show it. Her face was expressionless and only her murky green eyes were alight with a manic frenzy. She kept her eyes focused on the horizon. Was she a coward for not wanting to look upon his handsome face? Maybe so. "Why are you here." She spoke quietly, her voice youthful. She was relieved to find that her voice had not staggered and had not betrayed her by revealing the ominous fear that slowly began to creep within the pit of her stomach. She knew she was safe right now, being in public. She could just walk away from him. Tameri immediately saw the flaw in that simple plan. It's not like she could move the guy herself. For a fleeting moment, Tameri imagined giving him a good kick between the legs. A sly smirk now graced her lips. Yeah, that'd be nice.
She let go her vice grip from his wrist and turned around, facing him. Indeed their bodies were close and Tameri felt uncomfortable. She didn't bother hiding the nervous look as she leaned back as far away from the stranger as possible. "What made me your target?" She knew it was a silly question. Her forehead wrinkled a little bit and she frowned. She looked at him intensely now, noting the features of her attacker. This guy had to have been psycho. A rugged yet sophisticated lion. Tameri's frown disappeared. She would have such rotten luck. Impulsively Tameri brought her hands up to her face and hid behind them. She didn't care what she looked like. Especially in front of him
