The tomboy shifter watched intently as the lemur shifter climbed up a tree and chewed off a small branch. Her gaze followed it as it seemed to write out in the dirt below. Jesse stood to look at the scribbles in the dirt more carefully, she slowly figured out the word 'Lohi'. Her head tilted slightly, then her eyes widened when it clicked. It must be here name, she thought after a second. Her crown dipped as she nodded at Lohi, siting back down slowly as her mind dipped slightly in thought.
She was silent for a bit, thinking heavily, something she always did. Words were few for her, she disliked wasting her breath for words, and she tended to pick her words carefully if she did speak. Her hazel eyes focused on the ground, trailing up to the sky slowly as she rumbled out, "You are the first shifter that I have met here, in this city." Her words were thoughtful as she sighed lightly. She had heard that there were gangs of shifters, that there were more of them here than anywhere else.
Her eyes followed the horizon as she watched the sun inch closer and closer to it. The impatience flaring in her dark eyes. She moved, laying down on the length of the bench, stretching out her muscular limbs. "You know, being an animal is easier than being a human. I have thought about it, breaking the hour limit so that I would be a jaguar forever." Her voice poured out slowly, her eyes staring straight up at the sky. The sunset light drew half her form in shadow, lighting the other half with golden light. Her hands dragged on the concrete and she shifted her head so that her hair fell off the edge of the bench.
Then, the sun went down. The rays of light dyed and the sky blackened to a dark purple-blue. The last of the sun was a red streak on the mountains. She sat up on the bench, her head tilted as she listened. She didn't hear any more cars passing by. The city fell asleep, a weekday when most workers went to sleep to rest for the next day.
She smiled the sharp toothed grin at Lohi before she stretched out, muscles expanded and cracked along her back, fur grew up to replace her clothes, and limbs thickened and stretched until her form was complete. The dark golden hide was dotted with the black rosettes, his tail curling out from behind her as she looked at the lemur with golden feline eyes.
Marked by her thick shoulders and powerful jaws and limbs, the strongest of the big cats, it was a wonder that she did not chase the smaller shifter like a mouse. She smiled with her black lips and twitched her whiskers, taking in the dark area around them with her highly sensitive night vision. The thick end of her tail swished behind her before she leaped, her legs kicking off like springs, and she landed in the tree above Lohi.
She smiled down at the shifter, eyes wide against the darkness of the early night. Her strong claws gripped the branch and she opened her mouth to breath in the night air, a panting like action that let her take in scents with more ease. Her golden optics darted to Lohi again, her grip on the tree loosening as she grinned at the creature. She snapped her jaws lightly, her eyes holding mock predatory hunger as she looked at the lemur. Her tail swished behind her and she landed next to the small shifter.
An amusing look crossed her face and she snapped her jaws again closer towards the lemurs small body. Of course, it was all play, she wasn't a killer or a murderer. Besides, it kind of amused her the way the small shifter scared easily.
