Hey Toki ^^
I'm going to add my thoughts to the whole issue...About you're four closing statements XD Toki said: Mmmkay ^^
Numero uno: I believe that for the most part, we shouldn't call others names, but occasionally, if there is a massmurderer or psycho person, In other words, they are more instincts then human, then I make an exception( Example, Hitler)). But the case where darkfire81was using it, I don't agree with XD Numero dos: I do believe humans are superior. We have superior intelligence. But it is our place as superior beings to protect and nourish this planet. But in a way, we are dumb. We destroy the Earth... Numero tres: Yeah, I agree with you on that one Toki ^^ Numero cuatro: That's just plain dumb. If we destroy the animals, we will offset the balance of the earth, and kill ourselves. Besides, animals are so prittiful! Who wouldn't wanna kill 'em??
Anyways, just thought I jot my thoughts down here, and see what you think about them Toki, You or anyone else XD

I read the first couple of lines of that argument and I'm afraid I didn't read the rest of the journal. =D So I've probably missed out on a bunch of stuff, but and however, I will say the following. - Having a lesser brain does not affect the ability to feel pain. Cells, for instance, do not feel pain. But they have no brain, only a nucleus. They have no nerves.
If this person thinks that having a large or small brain is what affects the ability to feel pain, I would question the size of his own. All that needs to be said in response to that is pain is a system caused by the nervous system and electronic signals to the brain, no emotions involved. If he doesn't get back to you, or if he tells you that you are talking crap, you overloaded his comparitively mini control centre and his own brain, if it's fit to be called that, ceased to function properly.
- Some animals are genuinely not as smart as humans. Then again, animals run by instinct rather than by emotion. We humans were stupid (or smart) enough to develop a system whereby we feel a great deal of emotion and allow ourselves to stop and think about this emotion, before reacting as appropriate.
An owl won't look at a mouse, realise it's scared and tilt it's head while saying "Well gee, is it really fair for me to kill this thing?" It will follow it's natural programming, it will kill it, it will eat it, and it will survive. However, since we humans live in a world where we have many different things provided for us, and it is not a necessary action to go hunting or to kill, for many of us, we end up with a different view on what to do with a frightened animal. Technically, that is a human going against it's programming.
- We were all those same stupid animals that person is insulting once upon a time. Unless you don't believe in the evolution thoery. In which case, we were created or whatever have you.
If this person wants to go and slaughter all the animals because he thinks he is better than them, put him in a room with no access to any meat, or animal produce. See how long he lasts before he begs you to let him out. Or until he dies, whichever comes first. Lack of protein is a bi-e-tch.
- I don't think I missed anything else...
And my reaction is as follows...XP numero uno: Woot Woot! You tell 'em! numero dos: Totally agree with that! numero tres: Actually, I don't believe in the evolution theory. I think the universe is way to complex to just have happened 'by chance.' And, No offense, but my dad is a vegan, he's just fine. It is possible to live on no animal products. numero cuatro: I think you addressed all the major points of the issue, yes XD

Taavi: Yeah, humans do hav superior intelligence, but that doesn't mean we should "rule the world" and make all the rules because then what rules would we follow? We'd be a mad mob basically. Like I said to that guy, people are animals (mammals). That would be like killing ourselves.... or something. Lore: Yeah, I think you got everything. xD That is true though, about the nerve system and everything, but I still do think animals have emotions, at least the ones we hang out with. For example, you can tell if dogs and cats are happy or sad... or confused by the way they show it in body language. I may be wrong as there isn't a way to prove it, but don't think animals think as complicated as us. I think they think straight forward like, "I'm happy!" or "I'm sorry." or "I like playing fetch." and "Keep petting me!" So in a way, that's what I think shows their emotions.
