Kyo walked down the street, lazily listening to his iPod and ignoring the people around him. He had a cigarette in his mouth, and sunglasses on his face, it was a blistering hot day. He wore a tank top and long basket ball shorts, uncaring of whatever people though of the way he looked, or any looks he himself was getting. He had a girlfriend, all the others could shove it.
Sitting down on a bench, he wondered where he would go. He had no work, it was a Sunday- the bars were closed. His male friends were busy, and truth be told, he didn't keep female friends. Why? He just had this peeve about unfaithfulness. And it felt like hanging around with women would make him seem unfaithful. Which he wasn't. For two, very good reasons. One, he loves his girlfriend, and Two, she can kick his ass. Mainly for reason one though.
On a whim, he decided he could cool off at the beach. There was a nice breeze coming off of the ocean waters, and plus, not many people bothered him at the beach- they were all busy with whoever they had come there with, or to get away from. It was all cool.
Stepping off of the pavement and onto the sand was an easy enough transition. Well, if you didn't jump six feet to get there. He landed with a thud, crouching upon impact the standing again when he was steady. He looked around, sorting through heads, glancing over faces he didn't care to remember or people he didn't know, until he saw the oh-so-familiar shape of Trinell.
An unexpected turn, yes, but one he liked. He strolled over, no need to keep quiet. "What's a pretty girl like you doin' on a crowded beach like this?" He asked with a smirk, not bothering to try and surprise her. If he did it was unintentional, and surprising. Trinell was always well aware of her surroundings, well, at least the surround sounds, he knew. As for other things like feelings and intentions, ehhh, he wasn't sure.

Trinell grinned as she trotted down the beach, weaving through the semi-thick crowd of people that were making their way to the 'perfect' spot to sit their stuff down. It was still fairly early in the morning, only being about nine or ten in the morning, but it was bright and it was hot and the beach was easily the best place to cool down at. It was partly the reason she was there, actually. She had a free day [meaning Andrei was hanging out with DJ and Chase] and the beach was always a great place to hang out even if she was by herself.
'Hmmm, I'll probably call Kyo later and see what he's doing. He doesn't have work today so he should be able to chill with me for a bit.' The thought slid gently into her mind and made Trinell smile a bit. He had that effect on her, she had noticed. Not that it was a problem or anything; oh no. It was a good thing that he made her smile all the time just by being there.
Kyo fled her mind as she reached a long stretch of open sand and empty water. Aha, she was far enough down the beach that it was clear. Mentally, she added an amused 'for now' to the end of that non-thought. In a couple of hours at most there would be more people lining the beach and playing in the water. And when there got to be too many, she would get up and move farther down the line until she was clear of them again.
Forcing her sneakers and socks off with her toes and pulling her just below knee-length black basketball shorts off, she added her too-large black t-shirt to the pile then took off for the water. As soon as her feet hit the water she lifted her steps and lengthened her stride, skillfully avoiding the awkward sloshing movements most people made when wading out to the deeper water.
When the water easily reached her knees on each step Trinell launched herself forward and down, right into the water at such an angle that she didn't make much of a splash. She followed along the sandy floor until there were at least four feet between her and the surface then rose in a lazy arc to the top, breaking the water and treading softly; she took the time to refill her lungs with fresh air. The sand was mere inches from her toes and if she stood flat-footed the water would clear her head. Not good for breathing.
After glancing around for a moment and seeing a few somewhat familiar faces in the crowd on the beach [simply because she knew a lot of people in Shelpey], Trinell took a deep breath and dove back underwater, fully enjoying the simple pleasure of feeling the water glide along her black bikini-clad body.
A few hours later found her climbing out of the water happily and wringing as much water from her body, clothes, and hair as possible. She managed to free herself from a lot of the salty liquid and, happy with the results, swept down to scoop up her shirt and pull it over her head. She didn't bother with shaking the sand off of it seeing as how she was about to lay down and dry off anyways.
Settling down on her back next to her shorts and shoes, she folded one arm under her head and let the other rest across her belly and dozed lightly. She wasn't entirely sure how long she dozed for, being trained to listen for sounds not time, but she knew several people had passed and occupied the same area around her by the time she heard a set of familiar foot steps.
She had to fight back her smile and not open her eyes as she realized who it was only to fail as Kyo called out a smooth, "What's a pretty girl like you doin' on a crowded beach like this?" She grinned up at him cheekily, noticing the tank top and basketball shorts with amusement. So the heat was getting to Kyo too, huh? "I'm coolin' down and chillin'. What about a handsome man like yourself, huh? What are you doin' out here?" She responded playfully.
Standing, she dusted her shirt and legs down a little before winking at her boyfriend and giving him a warm hug, happy to see him without having to call him or search him out.

"I'm coolin' down and chillin'. What about a handsome man like yourself, huh? What are you doin' out here?"
"I dunno. I'm guessin' I was drawn here by your psychic powers." He replied with a chuckle, noting her still drying hair when he hugged her back. He laughed, the sand she'd picked up rubbing off on him a little from the hug.
"I'm guessing you went swimming?" He laughed, brushing off the sand. The silenced iPod he was no longer using was forced into his pocket, black ear phones going along with it. It was hot, of course she went swimming. Otherwise he was failing to think of a reason for her lack of.... pants. It was enough to get a nervous glance from him once, but not something he would blush about. If she was trying for that, she'd have to try harder. 'Not much though.' He thought to himself, looking off to the side.
"It's hoooooooooooot... Imma get in the water." Kyo said, taking his iPod out of his pocket and dropping it onto the sand with his phone. That followed by his shirt to cover it and prevent people from thinking anything of value was there. Wadding several feet into the water, he turned around to look back at Trinell.
"We're gonna totally regret this when we get burnt." He snickered, sticking his tongue out and grinning.

“I dunno. I’m guessin’ I was drawn here by your psychic powers.” Was his chuckled reply, Trinell smiling against his chest before pulling back and smirking at the sand that had gotten onto him during the hug. “Oh yes. Fear my psychic powers of doom.” She snickered, not bothering with the sand on her anymore.
She nodded happily as he questioned about her swimming, his iPod being shoved into his shorts pocket. “Yup! I got here a few hours ago and took a nap a good while ago. Not too sure how long I was asleep for.” She noticed with great amusement his eyes flicking down to her bare legs, pretty sure that he was wondering about her lack of pants even if it was pretty obvious.
“It’s hoooooooooooot… Imma get in the water.” Trinell snickered again as he said this, pulling his iPod back out of his pocket only to drop it on the sand and cover it with his shirt. She watched him start off for the water, admiring his build for a moment, before turning back to his shirt and iPod and picking them up. She tucked part of the shirt under the iPod to protect it from the sand before setting them down next to her clothes, which was quickly joined by her shirt.
She turned around just as Kyo turned around, calling out, “We‘re gonna totally regret this when we get burnt.” and sticking out his tongue with a grin. Trinell snorted and rolled her eyes, starting for the water herself. “Maybe you‘ll get burnt, but not me Hun.” She motioned to her tanned skin. “I come out here often enough that I don‘t burn anymore; I just tan.” She purred, wading out to where the water reached her hips before winking at Kyo and diving under. She reappeared a good five feet farther out than Kyo, facing him with a cocky grin. “I also come out here so often that I might as well be a fish.” She laughed, hair plastered to her skin.
Absently she pushed her bangs out of her face, the thick silvery-gray locks clumping together around her head revealing her second green eye and the pale, shiny scar that made a smooth crescent down the side of her face. It was one thing for the hair to be dry and in her face and an entirely different thing for it to be wet and in her face. She could still see through it if it was dry, but wet? It was like trying to look through a wall; it just did not work.

“I come out here often enough that I don‘t burn anymore; I just tan.”
"Oooh, who you trying to impress, Trin?" He teased with a grin. "I think I want my white girlfriend back, please. Can ya go get her for me?" Of course he was just teasing her, a smirk on his face and a playful look in his eyes. She'd know that, he hoped. The last thing he wanted was for her to get mad at him.
Kyo went to swim out to Trinell, but was stopped when he heard some guys snickering near the shore. He perked his ears (which for some reason, he could do- move his ears slightly, anyway) and listened in their direction.
...
Oh hell no.
Kyo gave Trinell a smile, one of those fake I'm-very-obviously-pissed smiles, and said; "Hey hon, gimme a second, I'll be right back." He then waded out of the water, and proceeded toward the guys. They were too far away for Trinell to hear what they were saying, but she could probably see them, hell, he knew she could. It involved him looking down at the shorter, younger guys with an unimpressed face and saying.. something, then they said something, then he got more pissed and proceeded to drag them by their collars out of sight. The two were goners, as far as the civilians were concerned. You just didn't mess with a guy that looked that angry like that.
He drug them behind a building, gave them a good few thwacks, not too extreme; he didn't want to kill them, the proceeded to dump the disoriented teenagers into a trash can.
...
A very small trashcan.
Then he came back, looking visibly less angry. He gave her a smile when he waded out to wrap his arms around her. "Just taking out the trash. Cleaning up the beach a little. Gettin' rid of some litter." He said with a grin, resting his head on her shoulder. The black and blue guys stumbled around on the beach, then looked over at them. Kyo gave them the deadliest glare he'd ever made, and they ran away like dogs with their tails between their legs. Tch. Nobody messed with his Trinell and got away with it. They deserved what they got.
He was then caught up in Trinell, so much so that he didn't notice he was getting looks from some girls on the beach.

“Oooh, who you trying to impress, Trin?” Grinned Kyo, Trinell laughing at his teasing. “I think I want my white girlfriend back, please. Can ya go get her for me?” He teased, Trinell snorting and rolling her eyes. “Sorry hun, but you‘re not getting your white girlfriend back until winter rolls around. You‘re just gonna have to deal with having your tan girlfriend til then.” She winked, playful smirk on her face making sure Kyo knew she wasn’t mad. While it didn’t take much to get Trinell mad, it took very specific things. Kyo, being lucky as he was, had yet to royally piss her off.
She treaded the water effortlessly, watching Kyo start to swim out to her before stopping and listening to something on the beach. Her eyes roved the beach, trying to find what had caught his attention without success. There was nothing unusual on the beach. “Hey hon, gimme a second, I‘ll be right back.” Said Kyo, giving Trinell a very displeased smile and making the young woman raise one slim brow curiously.
Kyo quickly made his way out of the water and to a small group of snickering teenage boys. Eye brow raising even more, Trinell kept her eyes on Kyo as he talked to the kids for a second before grabbing their collars and dragging them away. “What…? Kyo, don‘t kill the kids, please. I don‘t know what they did but don‘t kill them.” She snickered, legs and one arm keeping her afloat as the other covered her grinning face.
The larger Shifter returned a few minutes later looking considerably happier and righteously proud. Trinell grinned, knowing from that look that Kyo had beat the kids but not killed them. He waded through the water, Trinell meeting him where her feet touched the sand, and wrapped his arms around her with a smile. Trinell happily returned the hug with a smile of her own tugging at her lips. “Just taking out the trash. Cleaning up the beach a little. Gettin‘ rid of some litter. ” He grinned, his head falling onto her shoulder. “As long as you didn‘t kill them, I don‘t mind.” She replied, looking over at the beach as the same kids from before stumbled around, each looking fairly beaten. They looked over at them for a second before bolting, Trinell glancing at Kyo and seeing why. He was giving them a rather nasty glare and the idea that Kyo might be jealous or pissed over her made Trinell snicker a little.
She noticed, however, how gaggles of dainty little teenage girls giggled and pointed at Kyo, eyeing him shamelessly. Now, normally Trinell wasn’t the jealous type. Normally, she wouldn’t be affected by others looking at her man. But this time, with most of the beach eyeing her Kyo, even Trinell got a little annoyed.
Shooting the girls a dark, possessive glare, Trinell turned Kyo and herself so that her back was to the beach and the ogling girls. Giving Kyo a smile similar to the one he had given her earlier, Trinell boldly pressed her lips to Kyo’s, giving him a blazing kiss and clearly staking her claim on him. Smug pride curled in her gut as many of the girls turned away, some of them shooting Trinell dark glares. Each glare sent was met with a smug smirk, wink, and light show of the bird. “Bitches. He‘s mine and I‘m not sharing.” She murmured, hugging Kyo tightly before grinning up at him. “So! Now that we‘ve rid ourselves of the ogling leeches, shall we swim?”

“As long as you didn‘t kill them, I don‘t mind.”
"Kill 'em? Nahhh, I wasn't... alright. So maybe I was that mad. But they look.. errr... mobile enough to me to be alive!" He snickered watching them scamper off like beaten dogs. His head was quite content in it's place on Trinell's shoulder, too. But then she turned around. Aww, so much for that. That wouldn't be remembered for much longer, though.
Because in the next few moments he noticed about three things. 1.) There were girls he didn't know looking at him. 2.) Trinell kissed him incredibly passionately. And 3.) He could not see past all the stars.
Sharing.. Bitches.. Hn wha? What was she saying? He couldn't hear it for the bells in his ears. Unexpected kisses like that, hey, they'd kill a normal guy. Kyo just got dizzy. He was the lucky one, on so many levels.
He felt her hug him, and was only just able to hug back, and look down at her with a dizzy smile.
“So! Now that we‘ve rid ourselves of the ogling leeches, shall we swim?”
"What leeches? I think they're called Lamprey if they're in the ocean right? Wait. What? He said, not really catching the first part of her sentence. "How do you expect me to do anythin' straight when you just.. do that.. all of a sudden...." Kyo paused for a moment, obviously caught up in somehing he could see behind her.
Oh, hello there sea. I didn't know you could fly! ... Wait. Ohshi-
And then a huge wave slammed into him(them?) and sent him(them?) rushing toward the shore. Kyo sat up with a big intake of breath, having not been able to breath for several seconds as his head was submersed in water, and then he looked to Trinell. "Ya know. I'm seein' stars again, but the ones you caused were just so much prettier, I can hardly tell these are there."
