[/b][/size]This is a game I have a lot of fun playing on ProBoards Support (so yes, this game is not against their ToS!) and other forums. This game takes a bit more dedication and stragetic thinking than the others usually do but it's still note. Note that if you join, you're agreeing to make your best effort to be active and understand that it does take dedication, especially if your mafia. I'd love you guys to play! <3
The mafia have arrived in the small village of Shelpey. Four of them to be exact... But nobody knows who they are! Mafia is a game all about deceiving your fellows to avoid suspicion. You use teamwork to find the mafia and lynch 'em to save the village. It's hard to survive but the Church of Holy Administratorness believes in you which is why they have offered their church as your gathering area. They hope it will make the mafia unattracted therefor making it easier to sort them out...
Day Phase: All living players gather in the church to discuss who they want to lynch on assumptions that the person is a member of the mafia. Evidence usually includes thing such as voting record, suspicious behavior, and deduction using other simple facts I dare not state. It's the mafias job to throw the villagers off and convince them to vote for one of their own while averting detection. When half of the village or more agrees on a person to lynch, they are done so in the town square just outside of the church. The game now moves into night phase.
- Days last twenty-four hours. If no agreement is met then no lynch will take place and the night phase automatically begins.
- Please bold your vote using the UBBC tag.
- Screenshots, videos, etc. are allowed but discouraged.
- Vote retraction is allowed.
- Avoid indirect voting (such as saying "I vote for the majority")
Night Phase: The narrator will describe the death. After this is posted, mafia members will gather around the table in the Godfather's factory (otherwise known as AIM, Yahoo, Tinychat, deviantART, or MSN group chats) and discuss who they want to kill next. Other special roles such as the doctor and detective also PM the narrator at this time. Once an agreement has been met, the narrator recounts the nights' happenings to the village and the day phase begins.
- No discussing suspicions, etc. in the thread during night phase. You're free to post things such as "-sleeping-" and "-puts up bear traps-"
- The game always starts in night phase.
Death: When a player dies, his or her alignment (village or mafia) is revealed but not their role. This player is allowed one after-death post and is forbidden to participate in discussions related to this particular game until the after-party. This may seem unfair but it's to have a fair, semi-realistic game.
- Suicides are allowed but considered highly dishonorable amongst the village. They are all in mutual agreement that anybody who commits suicide will not receive chocolates for the afterlife.
Victory to the Villagers: The villagers win after all mafia members in the game are lynched before they are outnumbered.
Victory to the Mafia: The mafia win after they are equal or are greater in numbers compared to the villagers. All remaining players are killed.
After Party: After any victory there is a "party" held in which you can discuss the game, congratulate others on how well (or bad!) they did, and receive your award exclusive to you for this particular version of the game.
Roles: There are two separate categories for roles.
Village-sided Roles:
- Villager: A resident of the town with no special influence; votes in the church for the daily lynching and make up the majority of players.
- Prophet: This role PMs the narrator once a night asking for the alignment of any player. Have the same rights as the villagers too.
- Bodyguard: Person who protects one person per night by PMing the narrator, further preventing the mafia from attacking this player. Have the same rights as the villagers too.
Mafia-sided Roles:
- Godfather: Head mafia member. Same as normal mafia, he's just the one who reports the groups decision if the narrator isn't present during the conversation and owns the factory in which mafia matters are discussed.
Mafia: Pretends to be a villager by day but at night becomes an assassin, plotting the death of a villager with his or her fellows around the "Mafioso Table." Votes do not count towards a lynch.
Silencer: Can silence one member each night. Silencing prevents the person from voting (he/she cannot even post) but there is one quirk; the silencer must be silent himself, posting maybe once or twice each phase to make it fair. If the silencer fails to live up to the mafia's expectations, they reserve the right to kill him just as they would a villager.
Sign-ups: Post below and I'll add your name to the list.
