C I X I afraid to be different Anything you can do...
A bead of sweat trickled down the center of Cixi's back. It went unnoticed amongst the thin layer of sweat that covered the girl as she focused on her morning jog. Every morning the girl was up by five thirty, then out and about jogging to the park, past the store fronts, by the water - wherever she pleased. Pausing for a breath in front of the library, Cixi readjusted her purple sports bra [x] and tugged on her black shorts. Glancing around, Cixi was relieved to see there were only a few people here and there, rushing to work or wherever they had to be. Early mornings was one of Cixi's favorite times because most people were asleep and their thoughts were nothing but a very quiet flash of brilliant color or some rather quiet murmurs. For whatever reason, whenever someone was dreaming, it was more difficult for Cixi to see their dreams. It was still possible - but definitely more difficult. Cixi welcomed this limitation because it meant she didn't have to listen to everyone's dreams as loudly as she did to a person's thoughts. Cixi began stretching out her limbs a bit more. Flexibility was key to help prevent injuries - especially when someone was doing strenuous exercise. Idly, Cixi's mind began to calculate what time it must be. It added the time it took her to jog to this library(which she knew from previous runs) to the time she left - it had to be about seven thirty or seven forty.
Cixi turned towards the library, interest lighting up her green eyes. The front of the library [x] was a beautiful marble with large pillars and these really interesting architectural designs on it. She had often come to the library for reading materials or for a bit of study time, and always wished to come back and actually trying to climb up onto it. The library stood apart from other buildings, so she had never come across it when she was free running. Cixi tightened the straps of her black, fingerless, firm grip gloves before moving up the stairs and in front of the statue on the right. She mentally ran over what time it should be, and then looked both ways up the street. There was a man in a business suit headed away from the library, and a girl with spikey hair headed up the street towards the library. No matter - it wasn't likely that the spikey-haired girl was going to be a cop or call the cops. Not only that, but the slender girl should have at least twenty minutes before the library even opened. Cixi grasped the statue base and nimbly began making her way up the face of the statue. Reaching the head, she carefully placed her feet on the statue's head and crouched, balancing carefully. After carefully surveying her next move, Cixi jumped up and caught the next ledge with her fingers. In powerful movements, her hands and feet found new footholds in the creases that the marble stone left and moved upwards until the redhead was pulling herself up onto the rooftop.
Cixi lay there for a moment, one leg dangling off of the roof. After working her muscles for so long and so hard, it was nice to give them just a moment to recover. Tugging her leg up to the roof, the girl stood and moved to stand on top of the slight overhang. For a moment she just admired the view. From the top of the building she had a better vantage point. For the first time, Cixi noticed the spikey hair girl watching her. Cixi tilted her head a bit to one side and focused her mind towards the other girl's thoughts. There was nothing but a bit of admiration and a sort of can-do attitude. Cixi's brow furrowed. Admiration because she could do some climbing and can-do attitude because the girl thought she could do it too? Cixi shook her head. Fully formed thoughts were easy to understand. Vague I'm-not-really-thinking-I'm-just-sorta-reacting feelings were difficult to pinpoint. Cixi stepped off the edge of the building and turned a one eighty in the air, catching the edge of the overhand roof in her hands. Feeling how tired her muscles where, she decided not to continue to strain them by dropping to the ledge before - and instead worked her way over to one of the statues and stepped down it ladder style. Now standing on a narrow ledge, she executed another one eighty in midair and caught the ledge she had been standing on a moment before. She carefully worked her way down the engraved lettering of the library front onto the pillar molding. From there she simply gripped either side of the pillar and slid down. Landing with both feet at the top of the stairs, Cixi stretched her arm up and over behind her head, parallel with her spine.
The sound of clapping caused Cixi to look up, arms falling to her sides. There stood spikey haired girl who had quietly moved up the stairs closer to Cixi. Cixi smiled uneasily but didn't say anything. She smiled a bit and blushed, but waited for the timbre in this girl's thoughts to tell Cixi that the girl was speaking. She didn't have to wait long. "That was really cool!" The girl exclaimed, smile easily spreading across her face. "I can climb but not that well. How do you do it?" Cixi smiled, this time the smile looking more genuine and less uneasy.
"It's just practice, I suppose. I spend a lot of time moving around. I'm Cixi," she ended as the spikey haired girl held out a hand. Accepting the handshake, Cixi was a bit surprised at the strength behind the shake. This girl had such...childlike enthusiasm. Now that she was closer, she was able to see that the girl also had a braid that was on the left side of the girl's face. How unique. "I'm Trinell." The girl replied, wide smile still in place. "Nice to meet you, Trinell. You free run or parkour often?"

There were lots of things Trinell wished she could do but just never had a teacher to get her started and keep her from killing herself - or someone else. Parkour was one of those things. So when Trinell, jogging through town like she always did, saw someone climbing up the face of the library she was both amazed and felt foolishly challenged to do it too. She stood back, watching as the girl made it to the top with ease and relaxed for a bit. Trinell chuckled, lightly thinking that doing something like that would be quite the workout. 'A workout I would love to do, myself.'
She noticed when the girl realized she was watching her but did nothing. She was just admiring the physical skill and strength it would take to do such things - not to mention the balls to do it too - and battling her fierce desire to do it too. Trinell was sure she had the strength to do it, just not sure she had the balls to climb something like that as her first attempt. Even Trinell knew she could be broken.
She watched lazily as the girl carefully made her way down - Trinell knew the look. Her muscles were tired and for safety's sake the girl was taking the easier way down. The wolf Shifter had to admire the other girl's intelligence and humbleness. She knew she was being watched; most people tried to push it when they were watched and got themselves or someone else hurt. This girl obviously didn't care that Trinell was watching; she was going to keep herself from being hurt.
Once on the ground again, she stretched and Trinell clapped, applauding her. "That was really cool! I can climb but not that well. How do you do it?" Exclaimed the spiky-haired woman, her typical friendly smile firmly in place. The girl looked a little uncertain at first but then she gave Trinell a more relaxed smile and Trinell's got minutely bigger. "It's just practice, I suppose. I spend a lot of time moving around. I'm Cixi," Trinell stuck her hand out as she finished speaking, the girl shaking her hand. Trinell noticed with slight amusement that the girl was surprised by the strength of Trinell's hands - most people didn't expect Trinell to have hands to could grab and lock like hers could. As DJ always said, god help you if Trinell got her hands on you. You weren't getting away unless she wanted you to. "I'm Trinell." It was amazing Trinell's face wasn't frozen in her wide smile, as often as she was caught smiling.
"Nice to meet you, Trinell. You freerun or parkour often?" Asked Cixi. Trinell shook her head, her hand dropping back to her side only to be stuffed into a pocket like her other hand. "Unfortunately, no. I get to freerun more often than I get to really do any kind of climbing. I'd like to do more but I spend most of my time on the ground, or just a couple feet off it. Trinell grinned, thinking of her hard runs through the forest; she had to stay in shape somehow! It was always best when she could get Kyo to go with her. She called it tag, because they would chase each other all throughout the forest until they caught each other, but Kyo just called it her idiot torture. He still did it though so Trinell knew he didn't really care.
Just as she was about to say something else, her phone went off in her back pocket, playing a loud and obnoxious ringtone - DJ. Apologizing to Cixi quickly, she pulled the phone out and answered it. It was a quick conversation, DJ just telling her that Andrei had woken up with a nightmare and wouldn't calm down fro anything until Trinell was there. Even as DJ spoke Trinell could hear Andrei wailing in the background, the sounds tugging painfully on all of Trinell's heartstrings.
As she pocketed her phone, she grinned apologetically at Cixi and said, "Hey, I'm sorry but my son is flipping out and won't calm down for anything. I gotta go. It was nice meeting you though! I hope we can run into each other more often; I'd love to learn more about parkour if you'd be willing to teach me?" As she said this, she lightly tossed a soft punch to the girl's shoulder, simply being her friendly, outgoing self. Trinell was surprised when Cixi smoothly blocked her punch, green eyes lighting up with excitement. "Dude, do you fight? That was perfect! I'm a fighter; I've been training since I was little." All of this was said quickly and excitedly, Trinell looking like a kid in a candy shop. Someone who could not only freerun really well but she could maybe fight too?! Can you say suh-weet?!
OOC:
That's all I got! I hope it's good enough and I hope you don't think I was godmodding Cixi. |D I was just going along with what you put at the bottom of your post. |3

C I X I afraid to be different Anything you can do...
"Nice to meet you, Trinell. You free run or parkour often?" "Unfortunately, no. I get to freerun more often than I get to really do any kind of climbing. I'd like to do more but I spend most of my time on the ground, or just a couple feet off it," Trinell responded to Cixi's query, while shaking her head and cramming a hand into her pocket. The woman's face split into another grin - there really wasn't any other word that would fit the way her face lit up - and her mind presented fuzzy pictures of her sprinting through the forest, laughing, chasing, and being chased...on all fours? Cixi's brow furrowed slightly, her eyes intently watching Trinell. What the fuck was this? The idea of any human moving on all fours at that speed was nearly impossible for Cixi's mind to grasp onto. 'Remnants of a dream then,' Cixi thought to herself, face smoothing back to it's normal appearance nearly imperceptibly. It wasn't an uncommon occurrence for people to remember bits of a fantasy or dream they'd had in the midst of a conversation. Hell, people's minds jumped all over the place all the time. It was incredibly odd how some people's brains associated the most random things with...well...the most OTHER random things
A quick ringing sound causes Cixi to pull her absent thoughts back to order as a word flashed through Trinell's thoughts. 'Dj' It was accompanied by an image of a face. The face was extremely vague, only showing a masculine face shape, startling bright blue eyes, and a ear splitting grin. The image was accompanied by a fierce feeling of loyalty and love. A quick glance at Trin's face - pleasantly plump lips and almond eyes with the fierce green peering out from them - did not seem very similar to the wide-eyed blue and average lips that appeared to be this "Dj's" face. If not siblings, perhaps lovers or a crush? That fell in line with the whole loyalty and love thing Cixi was feeling. She couldn't tell if the feelings were directed towards the strange, presumably male face or if they were coming from that face. Cixi stepped away from Trin, giving her the social perception of privacy as the girl swiftly answered the phone and had a short conversation. The redhead looked away, eyes tracing the path she had just climbed up and down the statue pillars on the library. It looked as though she was doing all she could in the world - besides excusing herself - to not eavesdrop on Trinell's conversation. Of course, Trinell's mental voice was rather exuberant like the rest of her and broadcasted itself quite clearly to Cixi.
What Trinell spoke into the phone was clearly shaped - easy to understand. Her emotions - love, sympathy, and a sort of pain - all were very simple to understand. Cixi couldn't hear Dj's voice on the phone, but she could hear whatever snatches of the his words that Trinell would focus on. Someone named Andrei was upset - this triggered empathy and a protective feeling from Trinell. Also gave her a very brief flash of a small body - probably a child. Trinell didn't really look old enough to be a mother, so Cixi was betting it was a younger sibling. Trinell spoke her goodbyes into the phone and slipped it into a pocket while she turned towards Cixi. "Hey, I'm sorry but my son is flipping out and won't calm down for anything." Damnit, it was a son, not a younger sibling. "I gotta go. It was nice meeting you though! I hope we can run into each other more often; I'd love to learn more about parkour if you'd be willing to teach me?" Distracted by her thoughts of Trinell's son and the woman's thoughts, Cixi barely registered that there was a fist coming towards her. Not realizing that it was a loosely clenched fist that was not on it's way to causing harm, Cixi deflected the blow and stepped away quickly, mind instantly focusing on Trinell's thoughts completely.
She was relieved to feel no malice coming from the woman, and would have been embarrassed for her overreaction if Trinell's mind hadn't instantly flooded her's with enthusiastic excitement. "Dude, do you fight?" The mental volume of this slammed into Cixi. Damn this woman was excited. Fuck, this was going to quickly turn into a massive headache. "That was perfect! I'm a fighter; I've been training since I was little." Trinell gushed, words tripping over each other like a six-year-old rushing to tell a story. Cixi raised her right hand to her temple and applied pressure with her middle finger. Wincing, she mentally cursed, 'Fuck, this girl is going to bring the most god awful headaches.' To be honest, Trinell's mind alone wasn't too much for Cixi - it was like talking to two loud people at once. But if she ever had to go somewhere with a high population with Trinell...ugh. Those headaches would be killer - and not in a good way.
Pasting a smile on her face, Cixi laughed. "Whoa whoa, calm down there." She snickered, filing away the pain to deal with later. "Yes, I fight - but I'm honestly not that good." The girl affirmed modestly. "I bet you're eager to head back to your son," Images of the two running around and playing together with boundless energy frightened Cixi slightly, "So how about we meet another day for a spar and maybe a quick parkour lesson?" After agreeing on meeting details and exchanging phone numbers, Cixi jogged off back towards the direction of her house, lifting one hand to wave goodbye to her new friend.

Trinell grinned wide with excitement as Cixi laughed, smiling. "Whoa whoa, calm down there. Yes, I fight - but I'm honestly not that good." She said modestly, Trinell grinning sheepishly. DJ always did tell her she got too excited about things sometimes. The majority of her attention never left Cixi, Trinell honestly wanting to know what the girl was gonna say, although a small chunk of her attention did stay on her surroundings and the people - and animals - in it. If she had learned anything from living on the streets for so long, it was to never let your guard down completely - especially when you were out in the open. "I bet you're eager to head back to your son, so how about we meet another day for a spar and maybe a quick parkour lesson?" Suggested Cixi.
"Sure, I'd love that! I'm always at the far right end of the beach, where the trees are a little closer to the water and the rock walls start up, you know where that is? I'm always there from about five to about eight in the morning every day - most times if I'm not there you'll see me somewhere else along the beach running. I like to spend a good hour running in the mornings. We could meet up tomorrow if you'd like?" With the picture of what Trinell lovingly called 'The Lagoon' fresh in her mind - tall, wide rock walls that came up on the beach and blocked the view from the rest of the beach partially, trees not incredibly far off, and soft white sand - Trinell felt a sort of peace come over her. Her mornings were rarely bad, if only because next to no one was ever on that bit of beach and she could work herself into a starving, sweaty frenzy easily and even rinse off a bit if she wanted to. The water was usually ice cold that early in the morning but Trinell didn't particularly mind; it usually woke up her muscles and mind again after the exhausting, mind numbing routines she put herself through. "That works for me." Said Cixi, her smile still in place. They quickly exchanged numbers and then with a wave and a 'see you tomorrow!' Cixi jogged off to her day.
Grinning and stuffing her phone back in her pocket after shooting DJ a quick text to tell him she'd be there in about ten minutes and to let Andrei know, Trinell took off at a ground-eating run that her long legs easily took to and headed for home. Andrei would calm down quickly once she got there; the poor little tyke had been having nightmares lately about being taken away from Trinell and nothing would do but to have Trinell there to soothe him and his fears away. She'd gotten pretty good at it once she'd learned how her little kitten was.
~ TIME SKIP ~
Early the next morning found Trinell on the beach hidden behind the rock wall, stretching slowly after her run on the beach. It had been a good run, with a nice, crisp wind off the water to keep her energized and no one else on the beach to bother her. Her iPod was still attached to her arm, her headphones over her ears and softly playing a plethora of Mariah Carey songs. She'd been on a Mariah Carey kick for a few days now; she was sure she'd be listening to other things soon but for now she was perfectly content to listen to whatever was on her MC playlist.
Done stretching finally, she hopped up and took a deep breath, holding it for a long moment and then releasing it, relaxing her body into her favorite fighting stance slowly. She started slow, taking a step at a time as she performed various kicks, dodges, punches and rolls. Before long, she was leaping, twirling, sliding and lunging across the beach, jumping high and spinning with a powerful roundhouse only to land and propel herself forward into a textbook shoulder roll. As soon as her feet were under her again, she kicked one leg out, spun around - a strong leg sweep that rarely failed to knock someone's feet out from under them - then shoved forward off the ground, mimicking grabbing someone and yanking them to her only to bring her hands down on her right knee in a loud, stinging smack that left a red mark on her tanned skin. She used her momentum to help her crouch down, bent over forward at the waist, and spin again; it was a move she used to duck under a kick and get her closer to her opponent - or father away if she needed it. She straightened up then slid immediately back into her starting stance with a low, guttural growl and fierce grin before sliding her feet together in a bowing stance, fisting one hand, covering it with her other hand in front of her and bowing respectfully.
Throughout her workout she had caught glimpses of someone on the beach, jogging towards her with seeming ease and recognized that it was not someone she had seen much before. Wiping some sweat off her face, she looked more closely and realized that it was Cixi, coming to meet her for their spar and possible parkour session. Blinking a little in surprise, Trinell looked at the sky and was surprised to see it was already seven thirty - when they had agreed to meet up. A mild look of surprise on her face, Trinell waved to Cixi and walked over to her small pile of clothes - damp sweat pants and a sweat shirt that she had ditched after her run - and grabbed her water bottle, taking a few long gulps before capping it and dropping it again. She was in the process of taking her iPod off her arm when Cixi made it around the wall and greeted her with a shit-eating grin and a quick, "Mornin'! You ready to sweat?" She certainly looked ready, wearing what Trinell considered workout clothes, and with a wide awake look to her.
As much fun as Trinell had doing her routines - which weren't really routines so much as just her trying to go as long as she could throwing whatever she could at invisible opponents before she had to go back to her starting stance or before her concentration broke - it was much more fun to fight against another person. There was no telling what someone else was going to do - well, not unless they didn't know how to not telegraph what they were about to do like new or street fighters did. Her routines were more of a practice in silencing her mind anyways; she made it a requirement of her routines that her mind must be blank or she had to start over. She had learned years before that while she was a ferocious fighter when she focused hard on what she did, she was downright deadly when she left all of her attention on her surroundings and opponents - she had learned that by not focusing on what she did, she knew before her opponents did what they were going to do and reacted accordingly. It also helped keep her from telegraphing what she was going to do. There was no telling how many times having her mind clear had saved her life over the years.
OOC/:
I couldn't ever figure out how to fit her clothes into it so here's what she's wearing: just past the knee silver shorts with two inch splits on the outside of each leg, with an inch wide black trim on the top that goes down in the front where the shorts Velcro together. She has a high-end black sports bra on that looks like THIS
Shorts are made similar to THIS
She goes barefoot on the beach, but when she leaves she'll put on broken in black running shoes and a large black t-shirt.

C I X I afraid to be different Anything you can do...
Cixi's naked form floated in inky blackness. It was all encompassing. There was nothing to see, nothing to hear, nothing to think about it. The void stretched forever, or maybe it ended just beyond Cixi's fingertips - she wasn't really sure. She reveled in this time of silence and solitude. It was just her, no one or nothing else. No voices shouting at her, nothing interrupting her train of thought. Just pure, sweet silence. A strand of bright colors snaked its way through the emptiness towards Cixi. The girl snapped her eyes shut, willing herself not to see it, but the rainbow strand was making the same trail through her mind. Bright bursts of color popped behind her eyelids as the strand wrapped around her head like a blindfold. Sudden sounds - voices, bits of music - burst into her mind.
Cixi jerked upright, the strand of color and blank void disappearing. She was in her room, in her tub. Water dripped from her face, hair, and body as she checked the glowing numbers on her clock and cursed silently. It was only four-thirty in the morning. A new neighbor had moved into the apartment next to her's a week ago. Their bedrooms unfortunately shared a wall. Every night his dreams had managed to interrupt Cixi's sleep, despite her sleeping in her crudely crafted tub-bed with her head mostly submerged to prevent exactly that from happening. The redheaded girl groped blindly for a towel in the darkness, splattering water onto the absorbent rugs she had spread onto the tiled floor. There was no way she'd be able to get back to sleep tonight. The neighbor's intrusive dreams would keep her awake the same way someone's snores would keep a normal person up. As she prepared for her morning run her mind was assaulted with images, bright colors, and music. It was with relief that she stepped out into the cool night air and away from the nuisance of a neighbor.
Several hours later, Cixi could be found jogging down the beach in a pair of exercise shorts and a sports bra. Her hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail, the red curls bouncing with every step. She jogged on the wet sand close to the waves, dampening her tennis shoes and splashing salty seawater up her legs to cool herself off. Up ahead she could make out the rock wall and trees through the misty morning. A girl in black sportswear was jumping about throwing fists and feet at invisible opponents. The woman bowed before straightening up and looked in Cixi's direction. After Trinell waved to her, Cixi changed her direction, pausing only to take off her damp running shoes and socks as she left the wet sand. "Mornin'! You ready to sweat?" Cixi dropped her shoes and plastic bottle to the ground as she smirked.
"Sorry, I couldn't wait," she laughed, motioning to the dark sweat marks on her sports band. Trinell's mind towards her was open and welcoming - and still filled with that childlike enthusiasm.
"Are you ready to get started then?" Cixi questioned, doing some quick stretches. When she received the affirmative, she bowed and slipped into her ready stance, body ready to react quickly, and mind actively scouring Trinell's for the slightest hint of her first reaction. "Remember to take it easy on me! I'm not very good, hah." Trinell began with several feints, Cixi half-heartedly sidestepped them, knowing they were feints from the other woman's mind. Trinell and her were starting off slow - clearly both were sizing up the other. From her opponent's mind, Cixi could tell Trinell was intentionally leaving holes in her guard in order to see if A) Cixi would see them and B) how she would take advantage of them. Cixi mildly took advantage of the intentional guard-drops, and swooped in viciously when she spotted an unintentional guard-drop. The two women quickly settled into the fight, Cixi matching Trinell blow for blow. Trinell was strong, incredibly fast and had the better technique - she was definitely the better fighter. But Cixi was able to keep up by reading Trinell's mind and consequently, her actions. The longer the fight went on, the more Trinell began to react instinctively, and the harder it was for Cixi to keep up. Sensing that she was about to lose otherwise, Cixi managed to catch Trinell off guard enough for the other girl to give.
"Damn, you're good!" Cixi said appreciatively, offering her hand to help other girl up. "Best out of three?" The second fight didn't last as long as the first. In the beginning, Cixi was able to keep up with Trinell once more. Trinell fell into that pure reaction fight mode more quickly this time, causing Cixi to tap out. The third fight was even shorter, with Trinell - in that non-thinking quick reaction mode - rapidly trouncing Cixi. "I'm no match for you!" Cixi laughed breathlessly, lifting her hands in defeat. "Fantastic fight, though. It's been a while since I've fought someone capable of surprising me as thoroughly as you do. Many telegraph their every move - through their body language, of course -" Cixi quickly interjected, "But you, you have nothing but smooth motion. Beautiful!" The redhead snatched up her bottle and took a swig, cheeks bright red from the exertion. "Wanna go again, or are you ready to try some parkour?"
