Halloween, a time for trickery though also for threads. While young children put a sheet over their heads and went around door to door asking for candy; there were the older ones who lounged on the night. Taking it as a time to cause others scare, for personal gain or for the sheer joy of it. Through not everyone did this, some did; and one of these someone's was Ryan.
Sitting in an oak tree, toilet paper layering it heavily, stared across the street where little groups of children traveled in packs accumulating candy. It was rather cute, but that's now why Ryan was here. Expecting to meet another shifter, so that they could have their own brand of fun. Either to scare someone in shifted form, or to cause their own scare.
Only one or two cars fled across the blacktop, most going quite slow for the idiots who were walking in the street. A road branching off of the main 'high way'. Not far from here was an abandon factory. Even shifters avoided it, though tonight would be the perfect night to explore it, to plan their trickery. "Trick or Treat?"
Sitting on that branch, legs hanging low, shoulder resting against the trunk of the tree, waited rather unconcerned. If the others didn't show, then he would take off and soar the skies, do what he did every night. If they did show, well... that was to be decided. On this night, where the temperature was in the high 50's {Approx 14* C}, he wore a body hugger black tee-shirt with nothing scrolled upon it. Then dark blue jeans, and black shoes. He blended in quite well with all the darkness, seeing as the last glint of light in the sky had almost faded away.
Some ends of toilet paper flickered in the light wind, and the scent of raw egg reached his nose. Half tempted to fly off and eat the deluxe meal, kept his spot. The moon was out, it was waning though it looked basically full. Providing light upon this cold earth. It was interested, how it's glow appeared blue. Reflecting against Ryan's eyes, making them georgous of ever. 'Maybe tonight will be different, tonight might change the world.' The trick to surviving, was knowing when to tell the truth and when to lie...... to yourself.

Lips lifted in a sharp smile, revealing rather human looking teeth. Long, slender body was concealed well in the shadows. Occasionally a kid would see the girl, but a hissing noise usually got ride of them. With a sly smile still curving her lips, Alexx strode easily out onto the street. She shoved her hands into her black jean jacket. Under that she was conveniently wearing a black skin-tight shirt and more black jeans. She wandered down the road, looking for a good place to stay hidden until the opportune moment to pounce on some unsuspecting kid.
With sudden inspiration, Alexx gazed up in the trees...What if she were to drop down on random passing children? With her tigress genes it would be easy to drop out of the tree without hurting herself. Alexx crouched, one hand bracing herself against the ground. Her light blue eyes gleamed in the dim lighting as she scrutinized the toilet paper covered tree for the best branch to drop from.
During her scrutiny, she noticed another rested comfortably there. With unnatural power, Alexx leaped smoothly to a sturdy branch. She slinked through the branches quickly, reaching the branch where Ryan rested in an amazingly short amount of time. Alexx perched herself on the branch, crouching with her feet resting on the branch, and her hands steadying her.
"Care to explain why you're up in a tree?" The girl purred as she stood and glided forth, balance immaculate. Alexx took in Ryan's comfortable position, he obviously spent a lot of time in trees. 'I'll never understand normal humans.' Alexx mentally whined. Her eyes narrowed as she realized how insanely gorgeous this guy was. 'Reminds me of John...' Alexx briefly remembered the blonde surfer. 'If I don't scare him off - he could be a good catch.'

A lovely feminine figure leapt beside him, crouching like a five year old might pretending they were a dog or cat. It was rather amusing as Ryan stared blankly at her. Blonde hair flickering in the seemingly everlasting breeze, eyes being reflective with the moons glow in them, and her body tight clothing. If someone said that she was unattractive, they were probably blind or taken. There was no denying it, she was gorgeous.
Blinking, went back to staring at his hands, and on his left wrist where white scars were stretched across soft skin, was his shifter mark. If she wasn't a shifter, than she was just an athletic, beautiful, person. If she was, she was no different than him. She just had the confidence and talent to poke fun at humans, where as he respected them. They kept to themselves, and he kept to himself. Feeling secluded, alone, like no one understood him. 'No one ever will.'
Looking at his outstretched fingertips, which were his flight feathers when morphed, curled and uncurled them. Not sure why, but it was a habit he had picked up. Not that it mattered now, nothing mattered now. Heaving a sigh, looked over at the female again and asked mildly. "Is there something I can help you with?" In mild humor, pitied himself that he wasn't a man-whore, for in a male's mind, physical attraction is always a constant variable.
Blinking, didn't break eye contact with her, just to prove that he wasn't about to move to a different tree just because she wanted his spot, or whatever the reason. 'Care to explain why you're up in a tree?' The wind picked up again, and the rustle of the leaves was a soothing, home-like factor. Sizing her up, responded, "Care to explain why you're in a tree instead of in a strip bar?" It could be harsh to an emotional person, but Ryan didn't want to be taunted and poked at, unless she wanted something from him, she could clear off.

Alexx gazed over Ryan as he glanced at his hands. She noted his raven black hair, his gorgeous features, his cloud blue eyes, and his lean, sexy body. Alexx crouched in front of him, balancing on her feet this time. "Is there something I can help you with?" "I'm sure there is...something." She breathed seductively. "Care to explain why you're in a tree instead of in a strip bar?" A smile lifted at the corners of the feline's lips. "Isn't that obvious? You aren't there."
Alexx easily fitted her slender legs on one side of the branch and placed her butt on the branch. She leaned forward, resting part of her weight on her svelte arms. "So are you going to answer my question?" Alexx questioned, captivated by his aristocratic features. She followed his cheekbones to his lips, from his lips to his throat. Down his neck to his collarbones. From his collarbones to his shoulders, from his shoulders down to his muscular arms.
Focusing on his wrists Alexx noticed his white scars. The feline carefully hid her disgust. After all, he was just a plaything. It mattered not what he did in his spare time. Only what he did around Alexx. She also noticed a grey tattoo. Intrigued, she bent her head closer for a better look, her soft golden hair falling over her shoulders and brushing his hands gently. Raising her head, her face was mere inches from his - her full, luscious lips so close to his own smooth ones. For a second, she leaned closer - then the demonic lips pulled away from his. Her eyelashes flickered as she gazed into his eyes.

Seductive breathe whirled all around him, mixing in with the zephr that made the leaves rustle. What gave life to so many objects, so many things. Blinking cloud blue eyes, hear her response and it didn't make him feel happy or sad. It was a compliment on his looks, nothing knew, her opinion. 'Something that doesn't matter, frankly.' Though Ryan wasn't mean, so he'd never say something like that. His thoughts were like an alter ego, or a venting device. Nothing more, nothing less.
Looking back at her, just as she had finished re-adjusting herself, noticed how close she had gotten. Orbs darted from eyes to lips, mind whirling 'slut.' Alexx examined his arm, and some type of comprehension seemed to dawn upon her perfect features. Her head rose again, hair brushing against his arm. A sharp intake of breathe pierced Ryan's throat, if he just leaned forward.
But she pulled back, slightly relieving him of the tension. 'What do you want? Am I your mouse?' A glitter of mischievous yearning played around her eyes. Being batted, tempting him or more likely daring him. Being a male, Ryan couldn't resist. Swinging his leg over the tree, so he sat like her. Leaned forward, placing one hand on the branch behind Alex, and the other in front.
Black hair flying over his face, stared into her orbs, occasionally darting towards her lips. She wanted this, he did too; just in a different fashion. Without obvious invitation, gentle lips pressed against feminine ones. It was light and gentle at first, with some foreplay as Ryan's hand moved onto her thigh. But as it progressed, Ryan expected her to either turn away, or take lead. 'Since you're the slut who wanted this int he first place.'

Alexx smirked at the greedy lust that shone from his face. She loved screwing with guys' heads. Besides, with her body and money, it was so easy. Ryan readjusted himself so he was sitting the same way as Alexx, placing one muscular arm behind her, and the other in front. 'Mmm..' Alexx mentally hummed, speculating as to how good of a kisser Ryan was.
The boy leaned forward, blue eyes glancing between her eyes and her lips. Finally his lips pressed against hers, lightly. The kiss slowly built as the tigress' arms slipped up around Ryan's neck. She slid closer until she was pressed up against him. When Ryan lost the initiative, Alexx broke lip contact to nuzzle his neck.
"What are you thinking right now? You're making out with a girl - who's name you don't even know - on Halloween night." Alexx paused for a sarcastic laugh, "Not only that, but the same girl randomly climbed a tree. Doesn't seem like a very lady-like thing to do." The feline traced lazy circles on Ryan's chest.
With a sudden coy smile, Alexx glanced at Ryan. "Did you really think I would be that easy?" She asked, eyebrows arched with gratification. Of course she was that easy. Nevertheless. Alexx was just amusing herself with him.

The zeal was gone when the kiss broke, staring past Alexx listening to her careless words. None of it mattered, not really. She was playing with him, that was known fact by now, and he was testing his own restraint and common sense. Wasn't exactly a fair match-up, but who really gave a damn? 'What are you thinking right now? You're making out with a girl - who's name you don't even know - on Halloween night. Not only that, but the same girl randomly climbed a tree. Doesn't seem like a very lady-like thing to do.'
'What am I thinking? I'm thinking 'What am I thinking?' Not exactly a great answer but it's true.' Blinking Crystal eyes, cast away the rest of what she said. It wasn't relevant to what was going on. To be truthful it was completely irrelevant. 'Did you really think I would be that easy?' "No." The words were so bland, so careless. Ryan could of been reading a boring fiction book. Taking his hands and putting them on her sides to push her light body away, stared into her eyes and added, "Not really."
He didn't want to 'use' her or 'be used.' So it would end now; Ryan wasn't a manipulator and was decent enough to spot the ones who were. Yet, his male instinct had brought him this far, but the line was drawn; the move was played. If Ryan was a jerk, he'd probably push Alexx out of the tree, but instead he leapt down and landed lightly on the ground. Only to straighten up, and start his step towards the abandon warehouse. Where others were 'known' to be.

Ryan stared past Alexx with a blank expression on his face. Evidently he didn't care much for what she was saying. That or he cared too much. Either way, he deemed it not worthy to reply to. "No." At this Alexx carefully sat up, returning her arms to herself - at the same time Ryan was gently pushing her away. She placed both hands on the branch and crossed her slender legs. "Not really." he said, looking deep into her eyes. Unsure what to make of this, she gazed up at the star-studded night sky.
She felt the branch quake, heard the rustling of dead leaves, and a small thump as Ryan alighted upon the ground. She took a deep breath of the warm October air and watched him walk away. A small twinge of regret flamed in Alexx as Ryan's back began to recede. She tried to sequester it, but it merely grew. "Great. Now of all times I decide to grow a conscience." Alexx muttered. She slipped off the branch and shifted as she fell. She landed on the ground on all four of her tiger-striped paws.
The slender girl didn't really care if anyone saw her and even if they did? Why, they would probably just assume that she was a human in costume, or a trick of the night air, or maybe even night demons coming to haunt this earth. A small chuckle - that sounded more snarl like - came from the throat of this ferocious beast. She stalked up to Ryan, wondering how he would react to a tigress following him. The street was mostly clear, with only a few trick-or-treaters on the opposite side of the street. So far, none of them had seen her. Alexx paused for a moment, wondering if he would know that she was a shifter, and wondering if he would know that she was Alexx. It would be nearly impossible for him to know either of them, so Alexx decided to have a bit of fun.
As she came closer, she crouched closer to the ground, sinewy muscles rippling elegantly under her orange and black striped pelt. Fangs lifted in a snarl as she came closer.
'Trick or treat.'

'Here's a Lullaby to Close your Eyes.' Step by step, foot driving into the pavement. Followed by another black shoe, leaves crunching over foot. In a rhythmic pattern, slow and steady; toe tip barley dragging against concrete. A hand raised to pull a hood up, causing a raven black mane of hair to fall forward; obscuring side vision. This black cotton hoodie with dark grey seaming, equip with a silver zipper that was drawn up to bust height. It was an erie appearance, a silver dagger or a red tipped cigarette wouldn't look out of place in Ryan's pale hand.
'It was Always You that I Despised.' The air was warm, yet the breath that issued from this mere child seemed cold. As if insides had turned to an never melting ice, spreading from pith to fingertips. Hands dead cold, not an unusual tough, just a fact a statement. Nothing to care about, a child's hands are cold big deal.
'I Don't Feel Enough for You to Cry.' The prickling sensation on the back of the neck. Unseen eyes piercing your skin, your heart, your very soul. Attempting to read your thoughts, posses your mind. Or maybe even slink around like a sly fox, teasing your senses; taunting your instincts. Flight or fight, that's how all creatures were built. While humans were at the top of the food chain and they normally fought, they were not equip with the abilities to survive raw talons and teeth. Skin easily pierced, throat accessible with ease. Nothing was challenging about killing a human; only getting past the guilt.
'Here's a Lullaby to Close your Eyes... Goodbye.' An occasional leaf broke from it's holder, to have gravity force it towards the ground. To fall, to break, yet also to ensure the survival of others. The beauty of self-sacrifice, in order for the tree to live the leaves must be stripped of their nutrient. In their plead, their colors change for green to beautiful warm rainbows. A sight to be seen, though also the cruelty of the miracle, was yet to remain unseen.
A leaf crunched, 'Silence There Before Me.' the wind whistled, the howl of the zephr, and the own muffled noise from the hood. What if someone lurked somewhere behind him, ready to strike, to drive a dagger into his back or a bullet into his head. Would it really be such a bad thing to die? Not if you feel if you hadn't wasted nineteen years of your life. But what had Ryan accomplished? Making no real motion to the world, not making a difference. Showing kindness to a few less fortunate hearts, but nothing more.
'I Said Goodbye.' Through this stepping, this pondering, blue jean covered limbs brought this teenage figure to the front of the abandon warehouse. Crystal eyes scanned it's dingy exterior. The sides were made of cheap iron, most of it already rusted away. Probably a three or four story building, windows occurring every several feet. Most of the panes broken, the sides graffiti-ed. As eyes traveled down, there was a set of double doors. One heavily chained and boarded up; the other rather sinister. Barred windows with shattered glass, chains broken, and it slightly cracked open.
Stepping inside, moonlight oddly shining through the broken and shattered panes of glass. It was a rather calming effect, though the sharp sting of smoke hit his nose. It wasn't all that unpleasant, but indicated another figure inside the building. Stepping forward, proceeding with caution. Though the first corner that he took, saw a blonde haired girl smoking. "Noxx." his voice was a mix of relief and startle. What was she doing here?
Noxx was wearing a skin tight, black long sleeve shirt. Though it looked like that she had cut out circles around her elbows and shoulders so that her skin shown through. Improving her mobility, especially when fighting. 'Typical.' Following this was some black cargo pants with a simple silver stud belt. Shoes were black as always, yet the normal bracelets and necklaces were bare. On her belt was equip her gun, knives, cigarettes. Probably in the cargo pants pockets was some more weapons, drugs, money, whatever she needed to survive.
Standing there, staring, no words exchanged between the two; until the pricking sensation on the back of the neck returned; and the scent of feline. 'Tiger.'

Rohjyx growled softly as he heard more people entering the warehouse that he was napping in, his massive Shifted form hidden by the blessed darkness in the building. He was witheringly aware of the girl smoking down below him, her clothes tight but smart if it came to a fight. Although he wondered why she would bother to use her fists at all, what with all the weapons she had weighing her down. He never carried so much weight on him, just a perfectly sharp blade or two and the occaisonal .45 mm.
"Noxx."
It was the guy speaking, talking to the smoker. He ignored them, however, in favor of the tiger that was prowling behind what's-his-face. His icy blue eyes narrowed darkly and he rose silently to his massive paws only to slink along the second-floor area towards a collapsed stairway that was hidden by a bunch of boxes.
Lithe, powerful muscles coiled beneath his sleek ebony fur for a moment before he leapt down quietly on the ground below, his landing easily able to be passed off as the screaming wind outside. Training his ears on the newcomers, he lashed his tail slightly before stalking through the boxes and heading for them. He stopped just before the light, his eyes narrowed to block the gleam of the light reflecting off them and let out a low warning growl to the tiger:
There will be no fighting while I'm here.
Knowing the tiger at least would hear him, Rohjyx stalked out of the shadows, his great withers rolling with each step he took until he was staring at Noxx and her companion. He fixed them with a freezing stare, his coat gleaming and his tail swishing slowly. He tensed his muscles slightly, just in case, and trained one versatile ear on the tiger and the other on the two humans.
