Appearance:
This spunky girl has blond hair that reaches to about her shoulder blades. It’s naturally straight though she has the luxury of being able to curl it occasionally. Though she usually prefers it straight anyways. Her hair is usually down, and only when she goes to bed, working out, or having a ‘bad day’ will she pull it up. Usually one can tell what kind of mood she is by how she wears her hair. For example, if it is styled at all she’s feeling a bit special or spontaneous. If it’s just down and looks as if she just ran her hands through it to get the tangles out, then she’s more for a lazy day (at least lazy for Ava).Personality:
Ava has a set of hazel almost light green shaded eyes. Sometimes they do look more green than hazel it usually depends on the amount of light in the room. She is also near-sighted, and because she really doesn't think glasses are all that flattering she often wears contacts.
Ava’s face is oval shaped, her skin a soft lightly tanned, obviously Caucasian, color. She has an adorable button-nose that her mother always comments her about (which also makes her occasionally embarrassed). She also has a lightly defined chin, nothing to drastic to be the most defining feature on her face, but definitely noticeable.
Ava has big, full lips that accentuates her face. They are naturally a light pink though she usually darkens them with lip gloss or lipstick. There is most often chap stick or lip gloss with her at all times, though she’s not one to focus on her looks. She's more into having fun and enjoying herself rather than how cute she looks while doing it.
Ava stands at about five foot seven, not overly tall but not exceedingly short either. She doesn’t mind her height, again she doesn’t find a reason to worry what size or height she is. She also maintains a good body weight. She likes to eat healthy foods though does occasionally splurge. Again, she’s not really focused on her appearance, however, she does prefer to maintain a good body weight for her own good health.
About the only big issue concerning her face is her acne problem. It is extremely bad along her chin and cheekbones and washing her face only seems to worsen it. That goes to show, that her own personal sweat from hiking up mountains or when her stress levels to get high obviously means even more acne. Because of this she even has acne scars along her chin that makes her feel very insecure despite the fact that most everyone has acne, and some people have worse acne scarring that she does.
By the amount of dangerous outdoor activities she does, and growing up on the farm there are quite a few scars on her body as well as a pile of general injuries she's obtained. She's received second-degree burns that are now fully healed, Broken her right arm twice, and her left wrist once. She broke several toes when a horse accidentally stepped on her foot. She's gotten bitten by scared dog's more than once, and has needed to get stitches for her hand and arm occasionally. Despite most of the injuries she's obtained it hasn't hindered her love or trust for her animals and she still enjoys living her life the way she does.
Her hands and wrists have a multitude of many cuts and scrapes on them and are usually dirty. Her nails are always short and trimmed because working in the yard and on a farm doesn't really offer a good idea for long nails since they often break, chip or split. And loosing a nail is really not all that fun. But as a very outdoorsy person, her hands and wrists aren't usually the only areas of her body that are dirty or for that matter scarred. Her legs have a fair few amount of scars, bruises, and cuts as she trudges through the woods and gets all cut up by the branches or from other minor injuries that she just passes off as ordinary-life injuries.
Ava is a very simple person. She's easy to get along with, even easier to please and befriend. She's a very compassionate person who loves people and loves to see them happy, even sometimes at her own expense. Sometimes, she works so hard at pleasing others that she forgets about her own needs and feelings and ends up just getting hurt in the end. But if someone else is happy in the end, then her hurt feelings can't mean that much, right?History:
Ava is a very energetic, very active person and sometimes this can drive people a little up the wall. She has been diagnosed with ADD, and when not taking her medication she's like the energizer bunny on steroids. Needless to say, in this aspect, along with her usual cheerful attitude she can come off as goofy and bunny-like with her over energeticness, like a kid at Disneyland. And yes, she's always wanted to go but has never had the money or the chance.
So usually Ava is a very happy person and when she gets hurt she bottles it up inside. When she's mad that's about the same. Until she can no longer hold her emotions in any longer and they burst out of her like someone had just popped a water balloon. But for the most party Ava tries to be a happy person and very optimistic. She enjoys looking for the positives in life and always thinking on the bright side. It keeps her motivated and determined in what she does.
Ava is a daredevil, she likes to push herself to her limits. She's not really competitive she just likes the thrill of doing things she never thought she could. She also enjoys odd, dangerous type activities such as rock climbing, hiking, camping alone in the wilderness, sky-diving, parasailing, scuba diving, etc. Because she grew up on the farm, and her natural love for animals, she's quite the outdoors-woman. She really enjoys just being outside no matter what the weather.
Ava has always considered herself low on the totem pole when it comes to attractiveness. She doesn't find herself pretty for a lot of reasons. The achne on her face, the fact that she's mostly an outdoor person and that could possibly intimidate guys, or the fact that she's never clean. She's not a girly girl who enjoys wearing dresses all the times, she's more into jeans and a t-shirt or something of that nature. Dresses and skirts are for special occasions and good days where she doesn't have anything that would involve getting dirty planned. She's worked with animals all her life, and of course that results in many injuries, scars that she's pretty positive not everyone would like to see. She feels more like she intimidates guys who she happens to be around rather than interest them. So of course when she actually starts to really like a guy she starts to second-guess herself. She wonders if she's good enough, pretty enough, or if he's even interested in her like that. Even in relationships, she begins to wonder if she's trying ot hard or that he's losing interest. She tries to not over think things, but sometimes she just can't help it. Compliments, she takes a bit modestly, because of the obvious lack of self-esteem in that department. She's confident of her abilities, just not her attractiveness.
Besides all her self-doubts on her ability to wheel guys in, she does happen to be a sucker for lover. She's into romantic things such as dinner by candle light or a walk on the beach at sunset. Though, when she's dumped she's an emotional wreck and usually tries to keep herself busy with other things. But all she really needs is to sit down with close friends and watch old sappy movies and eat her comfort foods.
Ava was the youngest of three and the biggest animal lover of her immediate family. Raised on a farm that mostly raised livestock and then all the other necessities like chickens, ducks, pigs, and even horses. There were cats in the barn that ate the mice, and dogs on the farm that helped herd the sheep. It was always full of activity, and she loved every single moment of it. So much so, that it was hard from her to stray away from farm life.Sample:
But she did eventually move off the farm and into her own place, an apartment that allowed pets. She wouldn't have gotten the place if it hadn't allowed pets, she would have felt.. alone without some company. She had been taking college courses since her junior year of high school and after hard work, long nights and countless hours she got her veterinarian doctorate. By this time she'd already been interning at the ASPCA's medical animal hospital.
The poor way in which some people treated their animals truly upsets Ava. She doesn't understand how people can be so cruel. But she vows to be as kind and caring to animals as well as people as she possibly can. That being said, one of the strangest of cases came one late February evening when a bull mastiff-sheperd mix came in after slipping into the frozen, icy waters of one of the local rivers. The mix's fur wasn't thick enough to protect him from hypothermia so the stray was left in the ASPCA's hospital overnight where a round-the-clock team kept an eye on him.
That very night while she was checking on the stray she witnessed the scariest, strangest, and most shocking thing ever. Right before her very eyes the dog turned into a naked man. She was in too much of a state of shock to really do anything or believe what she was seeing. But as she blinked several times the man turned about in the now cramped-looking cage and fiddled with the lock before opening the door and crawling out of the cage before her.
She opened her mouth to speak or scream but nothing came from her mouth. Instead she just stared wide-eyed at the man as he stood, glanced at her, and then just walked out of the ASPCA hospital without another word. She stood there shocked, still for one long moment until a co-worker of hers stepped into the room and asked her about the dog. Still, her mind was frozen in shock and it took her several moments to even process what had been spoken to her. Before she made up a lame excuse and went immediately on break.
What had she seen? Even thinking back on it she wasn't sure if it was real. But then where had the dog gone? It had been in to poor a condition to be able to get up and just walk away. But the man had.. Was she going insane? Often times thinking back on the event she wonders if she is. But once she got home after that shift, unable to sleep, she began researching what she had seen. Learned that what it must have been was a shape-shifter. But shifters were like lycans or vampires; not real. A thing of a fairy-tale.
She's still not sure if she's really going crazy or if she had just hallucinated the whole event. But if shifters were real.. well, besides the fact that it sounds pretty cool. She doesn't know what she'd do. Probably just stand their in shock again. Or attempt to strike up a conversation with them and ask well.. she isn't really sure what she would ask. But it would be something..
Animals were her life, quite literally and at that very moment she was enjoying her time with two of her favorite animals, two of her very own and much adored pets. She had her Airedale mix Jude who was roughly four years old now, she had adopted him from the ASPCA where she worked as an intern vet assistant at the time. He had been found starved and attacked by another stray dog. He had a permanent limp to his left side, and he was missing part of his tail and a part of his left ear. But he was still the most loving creature in the world. Perhaps he was more loving because he knew what the hard life was like and he didn't want to go back to it.Other:
Her other animal companion with her that evening happened to be a quickly growing black piglet named Rudy. This pet was the only one of hers that didn't have any harsh life experience, except maybe being taken away from its mother too early when the old hog got sick and passed away. Her mother had given her the piglet, and since they already had so much to handle she had graciously taken the little guy. Besides, pigs were one of the most intelligent creatures on the planet, right up there next to dolphins.
Today, she had decided to take these particular two pets of hers for a walk in the park as it was the best way for both of them to get rid of a bit of energy after being cooped up all day in her apartment. They were both on leashes as to not scare any other people who might be afraid of a large breed of dog, or those that seemed disgusted with the thought of an actual pig strutting around town. They apparently hadn't watched Babe in the City, or the original movie Babe, the sheep-herding pig. But her little piglet was still quite young and still in training. Though, not particularly to become a sheep-herding pig. He was just still in training.
One thing was for sure though, children loved to come over and examine the piglet. And it was trips to the park that were a great training period for the baby animal. After finding a patch of grass to lay on remotely apart from the rest of the people in the park, but not completely isolating herself, she settled down on the grass and got out the desired toys for her pets. A Frisbee, a tug-o-war toy, a raw hide for Jude, and a tennis ball. She also got out her bag of treats for Rudy and began to practice with him to perform some minor tricks, like shake, sit, roll over, beg, and so forth.
Today, Ava's shoulder blade length hair was pulled back into a semi-messy ponytail that she didn't much care for. She wore gray slacks that had a hot pink stripe down each side and a matching hot pink shirt over top. She was seated on the grass with no blanket beneath her. She wasn't afraid of getting dirty though the past few days had been particularly nice so she had no need to worry about completely ruining her outfit.
"Okay Rudy, roll over," she said and then gave him the appropriate hand motion and watched as the black piglet rolled over for her.
