[atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,true][bg=636363] If she had wanted something refreshing, Jessica would have gone outside. Which was why it was odd that she found herself stalking nearly soundlessly along the cold floor of the subway. She did want fresh air but she also wanted to be alone in her animal form.
Jessica considered her creature beautiful. It's fur was sleek and tawny with black spots that seemed to dance joyfully over her muscles when she moved. Her ears were huge, taking in all the night sounds. It was these ears that told her that she was alone at the moment on the platform. Without giving a chance for any human to show up and spot her, Jessica slipped into the shadows of a corner, turning her watchful amber eyes on the lighted area she had just exited. Most humans wouldn't recognize her species but they would still be freaked out to see something that looked like an undersized leopard. Jessica found that thought offended. She looked nothing like a leopard! Leopards were...not fat but big. The serval was slim and tall, taller and larger then a domestic cat. Then there was the few people who might actually recognize a serval. Breeders or lovers of the breed--of the cute, fluffy kittens and tame, harness-wearing adults they saw in pictures online. Jessica despised those people. They had taken a beautiful, wild breed and ruined it by mating them with domesticated cats. Sure, the hybrid servals looked the same but they weren't. No true serval would be so sweet and cuddly.
A person, Jessica observed, and studied her. She was an average person, taking the late train that would come along in about a half hour. After five minutes, however, the girl seemed to change her mind and exited the platform. Probably scared of rapists, Jessica thought snidely even though the fear was a very smart fear. Jessica herself didn't worry much about rapists. Sure, they could come after her but the second Jessica noticed there was someone following her, she would shift and streak away in her long-legged shifter form. No human could chase after her on foot and if she tried to stay out of site they wouldn't be able to shoot her.

[bg=teal]Desdemona walked through the subway with a coffee cup in her hand. She liked to spend time in the sub way, she didn't know why exactly. Possibly it was because she could get out of the sun, and maybe it was because she could meet new people in the depths of the tunnel. Mona always met the most interesting people down on the subway. Or at least she had great conversations with others down in the subway.
Taking a sip of her coffee, Mona moved towards a small bench that she could sit on to see if there was actually anything or anyone interesting down there. Her blond hair was pulled back into a ponytail and she had put on a bit more make-up than usual. But either way Mona was feeling good about herself, and she wasnt worried about being down in the subway. Nothing scared her, nothing bothered her. So being outside in the open where anyone or anything could get at you, that didn't bother Mona, but only made her excited. Being out there only offered her a challenge, nothing more, but a challenge. It was an adventure. And Mona was always one for a good, fun adventure.

[atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,true][bg=636363] When the other girl entered the subway, it didn't take long for Jessica to discover that she was another shifter. In a moment, Jessica was shifted and straightening her shirt before standing up and walking towards the other girl, light on her toes just as her animal. Hello, I'm Jessica, she introduced herself, vaulting over the back of the bench (saying that the bench isn't against the wall) and landing neatly on her toes before sitting down completely. Like the way she walked, her voice was light with a slightly playful edge. The voice of someone that didn't give a shit about the world and what it threw at her.
Jessica wasn't stupid, she knew that she could have misjudged this other shifter and she could end up being killed but Jessica was depending on the safety of the public and her serval form to get away if a knife was produced. What's your name? You're not taking the subway, are you? Jessica asked, her words spilling out. She could feel that she was babbling and managed to shut her mouth, thank God. Not that she was worried about what this other girl would think, 'cause she wasn't. She just hated babbling. Usually she was quiet but she had times when she just couldn't shut her freaking mouth.
