Human Appearance: when in human form, he stands at six feet and one inch and weighs about one hundred and sixty five pounds. He has dark hazel eyes of average size with a head covered with light brown hair cut short and shaped to stand up slightly. Sometimes he allows it to grow out longer with bangs, usually in the winter or when he is just to lazy to cut his hair. He has an average build meaning he isn't overweight and he isn't overly bulked up on muscle. He dislikes suites, sticking with a plain T-Shirt and a pair of old jeans with a pair of Nikes or Vans. He doesn't care much for all of the expensive brands people brag about having. Wal-Mart shirts suite him just fine. He doesn't have any unusual scars or tattoos besides the shape shifter one he has. It is the usual design with the typical size. It is located on his left ankle, not very noticeable because he wears socks that go above his ankles because of the marking.
Sparrow Appearance: when in his shifted form, he only weighs about twenty five grams and stands at six inches tall with an wingspan of eight inches, if not more. He is known as a White-throated Sparrow, more specifically the tan-striped plummage bird. His crown is darker than his feathers with an light colored tan central stripe. His supercilium is tan as well. His auriculars are a light gray, the upper edge forming a brown line. He has beady dark eyes (they look black but are really brown), a white throat, yellow lores, and a dark gray bill that is sharper than his talons. He has the more unusual dark lateral stripes down each side of his throat. He has different colored feather streaks lining down his sides and back. Just your typical sparrow.
Insane. Freakish. Alter egos? Anthony has something called dissociative identity disorder or "multiple personalities". Think of a common superhero like Batman: sometimes he is Bruce Wayne while the other moments of his life he is saving the world as Batman. Not exactly the best person to refer Anthony to, but it gives you the general idea. He has three of these alter egos: the boy, the man he once was, and the man he wanted to. Each has their own career and way of acting. Each of the alter egos have formed their own history, the little boy's being the one with the most truth behind it. The other two were made up with bits an pieces of fact and fiction.History:
George; "The Little Boy": shy is the best word to describe George, the little boy alter ego. He was created when Anthony finely decided it was time for him to play as a father figure. So he thought up a little boy that is a lot like him in many ways, with the fear of beatings and all. If any of you have heard of the Birdman of Alcatraz (Robert Stroud), then you might be able to compare the two. George is shy, takes care of himself for the most part, and doesn't care to much for company. He considers himself home-schooled when its really just Anthony's small sane sliver of thought he has understanding that they wouldn't accept George for some odd reason. George enjoys writing and illustrating his writings with pictures that most eight year old only dream of accomplishing. If you speak to Anthony when George has "surfaced", he will usually pour out to you what scares him or how much he appreciates you not making fun of him because he doesn't like to hang out with everybody else. This persona is the one that usually makes people turn away from the man, which George takes as rejection from potential friends because he is a grown man talking and acting as if he is an eight year old boy.
Dennis; "The Man he Was": an ex-homocide dectective, this persona knows all of the tricks criminals use to evade the police and he knows what the police do to capture these supposedly intelligent criminals. Why does this matter? It matters because he knows how to keep his murders under wraps and in the Cold Case files. As you can probarly already tell, this alter ego is the eviler of the trio, the one that isn't afraid to lie, steal, murder, or manipulate to get his way. This persona shares something with Dennis (the little boy): he is also scared of beatings and regulations. Once he saw how scared the boy was of them he soon grew to hate the damned punishments peaked from the usual spark of hate with all of the beaten dead bodies he has seen. He considers himself the protecter of Dennis, killing anybody who reinforces what they are scared of. Dennis, truthfully, is scared of him but George does not take any hints. He dislikes having to read peoples emotions so he waits for them to tell him to stop before he does anything. This alter ego is the second dominent, meaning it surfaces more than the man he wants to be but less than the little boy.
Anthony; "Who he Wants to Be": this persona is the father of his little boy persona. Not really the father, but he plays as the father figure, taking care of the boy by 'teaching' him what he needs to know, feeds him, etc. He never enforces rules on the boy; he may mention something to George, asking him to pick up his toys, but will never directly say it to him. Even though it is just an alter ego, he is extremely scared of Dennis. And because of his multiple personalities, by angering Dennis (the alters argue internally when they haven't surfaced) he would partically commit suicide as Dennis would attack Anthony -- himself, in other words. Anyways, Anthony is soft spoken but not as shy as his son, willing to talk to people rather than hide. This alter ego doesn't come up much, only when he needs to talk with George and the things surrounding George. Anthony works as a book store cashier inside of a mall. He constantly lives in fear of being taken in by the police because of something Dennis just had to do.
Anthony was born to the average middle class American family with beliefs that many others question. For example, instead of being born in a hospital, his parents, Harlequin and Ernest Locke, took on the task of preparing for a home birth. Why would they attempt such a thing? Roseanne and Carla Locke where born four years before Anthony and where two years apart from one another. They had been delivered in a hospital with success but Mrs. Locke was not comfortable with multiple things. Namely, she did not appreciate so many people looking at her newborn babies. After extensive research over the course of her pregnancy, they prepared for everything that had been mentioned by others. A midwife was not hired; they both agreed to an all natural birth with just the family, nobody else was to be permitted inside. Soon the day of Anthony's birth arrived. Everything went quickly and smoothly, leaving both parents thankful, especially since it was their one and only child born at home.Sample:
As a child, Anthony wasn't exactly abused rather than put in the middle. His parents often placed him in their arguments. His two siblings, both older than him, were out all day every day so that they could avoid them; not once did the two older girls think about helping their younger brother. So in order to relieve himself from the stress and pain of his parents bickering, he'd sit outside throwing bread he'd purchased with his own allowance to the birds. His attraction to the birds was odd; he could sit and pretend the birds where talking as they chirped. Sometimes he'd include his imaginary friend Charlie, who is the basis of his disorder. At the age of fourteen, Anthony discovered he was a shape shifter. His 'odd' attraction to the birds was no longer odd. Personally, the boy loved his powers and shape shifting form. Many would under estimate a bird shape shifter yet it had plenty of advantages. He was careful not to shift anywhere in front of his parents or any other human.
Oh, and about school. He made reasonable grades, mostly As and Bs. He stayed to himself and avoided the ranking system of the schools and completely ignored the bullies who decided to taunt him.
At the age of twenty, a little late considering all of his childhood events, he began showing signs of multiple personality disorder. He eventually confirmed that he did indeed have multiple personality disorder. They come from his dreams and ambitions or fears and regrets, surfacing whenever 'they' feel like it. Anthony has no control over his multiple personalities, meaning sometimes he will be a shy, kind man while other times he can be a complete bastard of a sparrow. His life has been normal, he quit the homicide detective force three years ago, and has yet to kill somebody...
It was just another typical day in Analog with the sky burning angry shades of red and orange with black clouds of sulfuric like materials replacing the much missed fluff of rabbit tails. A meteor passed through the canvas that is called the sky, small enough to be far enough away that it wouldn't affect the city. Savagery stared at the sky with an beastly glare, the left side of his face turned up wards, the thick sun giving his burns an ghastly and even more intimidating look. He did not enjoy the current circumstances considering the fact that eventually the entire population of earth will soon be erupted into ashes. His shadow walked with the same slink as he did except it was much larger and seemed to walk up the buildings, the old and abandoned skyscrapers that were left behind the humans. Savagery grunted; the humans had been the first to go, being bred to be weak and easy to batter around like puppets. Light and graceful on his feet, the young male weaved himself between the various buildings, cars and slain bodies with the ease only one who was accustomed to these parts could possibly have. His paws were already dripping blood from an fight earlier this morning that he couldn't seem to part from his mind, no matter how much he prayed to Saliva for it to transits easily.Other:
Savagery stopped and plopped down onto his haunches promptly. He was quite prone to these sudden bouts of boredom and having the need to just stop and stare. Lifting his head to the sky, he forced himself to painfully circle his muzzle into an o let out a sound that was a partial howl and a partial roar. It was his signature sound, the one he used when announcing his arrival to his pack. Well, he was only second in command being a bit of an instigator but that was close enough for him to feel quite in charge, indeed. "Here comes Johnny!" He let out a dark chuckle as he quoted his favorite movie that the humans he once lived with had shown him. God, how he hated those abusive and sadistic creatures. But he had to admit they knew some pretty useful things like the moving pictures on the screen. The one that he had managed to tolerate just enough to actually scratch behind his ears showed a moving picture called... Called... The Shining. That was it. The movie about the freaky guy that his puppet hated more than he had seen him hate before. He had been read the title to out loud and stored it in some part of his mind that usually kept the crap he didn't even care about. Savagery lifted himself up with his abnormally longs legs and stretched forwards. He dug his claws into the ground, tearing up the old and browned grass and arching his back in pleasure, with a shiver added in just for good measures.
Dragging his paws on the ground now, he trudged to the entrance of the old strip joint his pack used as headquarters. It had been built upon since the humans first came to Analog, starting off as a small "Rent" building and worked its way up to a fully purchased building, fully equipped with newer rooms. The newer additions to the building were good for the pups and the elders, which was part of the reason it was chosen for the headquarters. Being a purple with sparkles building, the male dogs did not appreciate the decor as much as the females did. Eventually they were permitted to use trophies of old battles to man up the place just a bit. Savagery thought it was a gross and dishonorable way to honor your battles but he did not complain for the alpha appreciated the new decor. He jumped up against the thick metal door (Not to mention reinforced. He thought without really knowing it) and barked loudly each time. He varied each barks pitch the way he had been taught, the proper way to alert the Currents that he had arrived and meant business. The laughter of drunken dogs made him frown. He had told them plenty of times to stop drinking the liquid that was left behind; it could be toxic. Not to mention it always made his guards giddy and unprepared to a battle. A scuffle from behind the door revealed that somebody had heard him and was opening the door. They had set it up some way that made it open when you lunged against it but Savagery never bothered to learn how. It wasn't his duty to open the door, being the deputy, anyways.
A handsome white wolf stood in the doorway with a foolish grin on his face. He seemed to brighten and jump up at him as Savagery waited. Savagery immediately identified the face as Frost and withheld his urge to jump on the dog and bite its neck. He walked on slowly past Frost but was to late. Where did you go, what did you do, how come you didn't bring me... The questions all jumped out at him and clung on heavily, threatening to never leave unless he answered. "Kid, do you ever let me get any rest? Well I was in Analog, doing my usual things, and I didn't bring you because... Because..." He paused a moment, trying to think of an believable excuse besides 'you are annoying' for hurting his young friend was something he didn't want to do. "The packs needs you here to protect the pups and the elders; you know how much bigger and stronger you are compared to them." Satisfied, Frost wandered away, literally bouncing rather than walking. He had to be the happiest dog in the group, never sporting a frown or sneer as Savagery often did. Frost never judged a canine by his or her looks: he always got to know them before judging. The older male howled, calling his members to him. He would ask for their description of today's events and then take a well-earned nap that he desperately needed and desired. As his puppets began to circle around him, he nodded. They were a large assortment of wolves, dogs, foxes, wild dogs, whatever you can think off. He let out a loud yip, giving his members the signal to begin.
Three cheers for the season finale of Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Gave me the idea for this character. Um... Note that he goes by three different alias, depending on what alter is currently dominant. But he usually just goes by Anthony, and I will use the name Anthony unless he is speaking in dialogue or in his head to avoid to much confusion.
