Djakael winced as the wolf roughly shoved boxes back in trying to get away from him. Crap. There was no way they wouldn't hear that. He took a quick glance around himself, just to be sure, and then turned back to the wolf. It looked conflicted, as if it didn't know what to think. Djakael could read the terror in its eyes, however, and they pleaded with him to help. He nodded, letting the wolf know he would help, and looked around again. He paid no attention to the human and cat, focusing soley on getting them out of harms way. "Follow me," he whispered urgently. "And try not to make much noise, either. We may be able to get away without them hearing us." He added before turning and slinking back to way he had come.

Logic was gone now. Long legs getting up and into a crouch, he nodded once to Potray that he understood. Shadows pierced around him, and even with his heightened sences, what if he hit something? Slow even breaths escaped his muzzle as he forced himself calm, Breath turning to mist on the cold still night air. Turning on his heels, he turned the way the small fox had gone, staying low, and dashing as quickly and as silently as he knew how. His silver paws felt Raw against the cold hard ground as he treaded. He'd been walking aimlessly all day. What had it been, 10 hours since he'd woken up to find himself a wolf again? But why fight it anymore, He could never seem to stay himself.
And now because of the stranger with the glare that could cut stone, he was going to die.

As Danny reached down to pet her, she softly purred in return. When he whispered, just loud enough for her to hear, Amber shook her head towards Danny. She wanted to know what she would be talking to first, and it would be face-to-face. Amber appeared to be lazily staring ahead, but she was secretly watching in her peripheral vision for any signs of movement. Just to her left a sudden shadow seemed to play with her eyes. Thinking of the obvious, she tilted her head more to the right as if pretending there was something over there. If you pretend you don’t see them, they keep moving. While the creature with Danny and Amber stayed hidden, Amber took her chance to take a look at her surroundings.
First Amber found Danny and herself standing in the middle. Towards the left side of the room, stacked boxes and boxes, and… well, even more boxes. Their piles didn’t reach too high, just to about half way to the ceiling, which Amber guessed to be about the normal height for a ceiling; 8 feet. To the right of the ancient floorboards they now stood on, were a few stilted tables, decayed by time. Chairs were knocked over, while some just sat there collecting dust. Of course, behind her was the door, but in front of her the back wall pushed further back, shaping the building into a rectangle.
A few tables ran down towards the back, creating little aisles that someone would have to squeeze through. Shelves of books covered in filth, mounded side the wall facing towards the entrance. Warily, Amber glanced every nook and cranny and filled her head with as much information as she could collect. This place is incredibly old. Who would want to live here? Rethinking her question, she thought, why would Danny want to be here? Then again, Danny was kind of an old-fashioned kind of guy for games and places. The dust leisurely floated around sticking onto nothing in particular, almost made Amber sneeze, but she managed to hold it in.
Suddenly, a ricocheting scratch came from the west side of the warehouse. Amber knew it would be dangerous, but she didn’t want to waste anytime. She raced up to the box that slid across the ground, causing that awful screeching sound like fingernails on a chalkboard. Just as she was a few feet away, she leapt up on top almost causing herself to fall through, but luckily it held. Amber stood high on the crest of the container. Her eyes darted back and forth searching for any movement in the darkness that could cause the identity of the creature to be found.
Just as her eyes hit the floor behind the box, a shadow seemed to move. Not intending to hurt the creature, she took Danny’s advice and spoke loud and clear, “Hey you. I know that you know I can see you, so why don’t you just give up?” Just as the words escaped her mouth, a bright pair of icy blue eyes gazed back at her. As her eyes adjusted to the different level of darkness, she could see the outline of a small fox in front of her. Its fur seemed to slightly ripple with the muscles it kept in place underneath. It’s blotched pelt made Amber's eyes disoriented to the background. So this is why I couldn’t see it, Amber mused. Amber found her target.
But Amber was concentrating so hard on the vulpine; the sudden footstep next to it surprised her. Her head instantly looked to were the sound came from, almost giving herself a whiplash. Her neck ached for a second, but her distraction did its job. Now looking at the small creature next to the feline, she realized that the thing that had caused the noise was a large wolf. For a moment, it reminded her of Trinell, but the markings were not the same. This wolf’s pelt was a midnight black with some silver tinted into some places. Its forest green eyes stared up at her, terrified out of its wits. Amber’s motherly instinct took a wrong moment to kick in. She forced her fur to lie down flat, and her eyes dilated so she could see every detail and every reaction. Softly and quietly she murmured, “I’m not going to do anything. We’re just wondering what was here.” She made sure she added ‘we’ to remind them that Danny was also here, and reassured them that neither of them would do anything to cause harm.

Danny smirked when Amber shook her head, though he wasn't really amused. This really wasn't the time to be; after all, they didn't even really know what they were dealing with. Like he assumed Amber was doing, he examined his surroundings. No dice. All he could see were faint outlines of objects in the gloom, and the ghostly whispers of cobwebs waving with the slightest of breaths. The shadows obscured all else, severely limiting his observation. Nothing living was there, a far as he could see; hopefully Amber could see further.
Judging by the fact that she had just bolted past him and jumped on an fairly box-like object in the dark, she could.
Amber didn't jump down from her perch; instead, Danny could almost hear her quietly mutter. What was she saying? Should he move closer? She didn't seem to show signs of needing help; her fur had fluffed up, but it soon smoothed itself out. Danny decided to hang back, though he was ready if there was to be a fight. His sharp eyes stayed focused on his friend, completely concentrated on what he could see in the dark of the night. If something attacks her, I'll transform...it better not hurt her. His eyes became cold and harsh at the thought.

Djakael froze as he heard the tiny paws of the cat flying over the ground until it leapt atop the box his new companion had just left. He whirled around instantly, instinct not allowing his back to be to a threat, and stared up at the feline with glowing ice blue eyes. He stepped closer to his new wolf friend, embracing the powerful urge to protect him. He immediately recorded what the cat looked like in his mind. Jet black fur alone her back, snow white underneath, glowing amber eyes... He blinked when she spoke, her voice a low whisper. “Hey you. I know that you know I can see you, so why don’t you just give up?” He didn't answer, merely shifted closer to what he was protecting. Sure, he may be smaller but that didn't matter. He obviously had better control of his form that the wolf did, which was odd. Maybe he was a new Shifter? The cat looked around, wary, and her fluffed out fur laid down when she saw how terrified the wolf was. Djakael recognized the motherly look that took over her eyes, having seen countless times with his own mother and older sister. “I’m not going to do anything. We’re just wondering what was here.” She said softly. Djakael nodded slightly, relaxing a bit, then said, "Okay. Answer me this, please. Who are you? And who is the human?" He looked athe his companion and, knowing he was still scared, said, "If you're a Shifter like me, then you can talk. Just try. My name is Djakael, by the way. You are?" His visage was one of kindess as he spoke to his friend, attempting to reaasure him. Then he turned back to the cat, his expression instantly chaning to one of awareness. He didn't want to be caught off-guard. Almost unconsciously, he swept his thick tail over to wrap slightly around his charge, creating a barrier of sorts.

His pace was steady, until the thud of paws landing on the box behind them. As his friend stopped, he did as well, his composure not as good as he would have liked. His body felt like it was going to collapse, the mere stress enough to crush his spirits. Stepping back meekly, he let his smaller aquantince get ahead of him. This won't happen again. Shuffling his paws as a way to calm down, he stared upwards, meeting the glance of the cat. Her voice seemed soft, her eyes seemed kind. His fur prickled uneasily, and he fell down to his haunches in his daze. So much like hers..His mother's image popped into his mind's eye, and just as easily dissapeared. Braught the earth by the sound of his friend.
"If you're a Shifter like me, then you can talk. Just try." He blinked stupidly for a moment. His fur laying flat again as all the thoughts of a moment ago vanished. He tilted his head to the side slightly, bumping his head on a shelf above them. His friend had turned away, and he winced. "I'm.. I'm Chase." He breathed carefully and strongly, although it probably didn't sound as fine as he'd had hoped. He looked at the back of Djackael's head, hoping he'd turn around to talk to him once more.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to trouble you. I usually take care of myself." His still shivering figure betrayed his words, but the truth was being in this body at all terrified him. But wait.. "Did you say you can do this too?" His hushed tone hid his surprise. He shuffled back and forth from paw to paw, his eyes not straying the dark figure of Djackael for even a moment. The creaking of the building had seemed to stop, everything was much calmer and stiller then earlier. He sighed a small gasp of relief.

“Okay. Answer me this, please. Who are you? And who is the human?” Amber broke her stare from the wolf and gazed at the lean colorful. Once she was sure he had finished his sentence, before she had decided to answer her question, she could feel the box creaking under her weight and quickly said, “I’m Amber and him over there-“ She flicked her tail in the general direction of Danny and continued, “is Danny and before you ask, yes we are both shifters.” The box made a loud creak, and Amber could feel it almost vibrating. “Why don’t you come to the middle of the room? Or if not, at least to the edge of the boxes, so I don’t fall through this. Shall we?” Before he could answer, she about-faced and leaped off the box. The ripple of power she used to jump off caused to box to cave in.
She realized any moment that that could’ve been her falling through. It wouldn’t hurt her, no; she just would’ve been all grimy for the rest of the night. She trotted up to Danny and sat a couple of feet away from him watching where the line of boxes abruptly ended. She could hear their tiny whispers and waited for them to finish their greetings. She noticed the canine’s terrified gaze. So maybe he’s a new shifter, unable to control his abilities. The wolf reminded her of one of Amber’s newer friends, Trinell. She could also shift into a wolf, but they were very different in personalities and looks. Maybe she could help him.
Amber was eager to find out whom these new shape shifters were, she hadn’t seen them in the harbor before. Maybe she had smelled them before, but it probably would’ve crossed her mind. Different people came and went every day and some never came back while others lived there. Like me, she added with a quiet giggle. Not wanting to wait any longer, she called out just loud enough for the living souls in the storage place to here. “Hey, please come out. We,” she emphasized it making sure Danny fully understood, “won’t do anything. We were just curious on who was here.” Amber could practically sense the tense atmosphere and tried to lighten the mood, “By the way, I still don’t know either of your names.” She added with a lighthearted laugh. Keep it humorous.

Djakael listened patiently as Amber introduced herself and Danny and explained the situation. She had to turn an leave, though, because the box she was standing on was about to cave in. He watched her go, ignoring the box caving in, then nodded. He'd go out, but he didn't know about Chase yet. Djakael turned back to the wolf, who he now knew to be Chase, and gave him a reassuring smile. He was still scared, but he looked a bit more calm. "Yes, I'm a Shifter. And don't worry about it, I don't mind. I haven't really made too many friends who are Shifters, and I like to take care of those who I do know." At this he smiled brightly. He loved to care for his friends. He was about to speak again when Amber called out, “Hey, please come out. We won’t do anything. We were just curious on who was here.” Djakael looked at Chase curiously. "I'm willing to go. What about you? If you don't want to, you don't have to." He paused, then added, "I'll protect you even if you are bigger and stronger than me, by the way." His relaxed smile and strong eyes showed no fault with his words. To Amber, he called, "I'm coming out." He turned back to Chase again, smiled, then leapt nimbly over the collapsed box, heading at a walk for Amber and Danny. He heard Chase hesistate for a moment then leap over the box, hurrying to catch up with him. Djakael smiled over his shoulder at him, wagging his tail a bit to reassure him he would be fine. He stopped a few feet away from Amber and Danny and sat back on his haunches, his tail curled neatly around his body. "So. I'm Djakael and this is my friend Chase." Was all he said. After all, Danny still spooked him a bit. He was on edge even though he didn't show it.

Danny was startled when Amber suddenly jumped off whatever she was standing on, which presently looked as though it fell apart. She walked closer to him, looking unharmed. Good. There must have been someone behind the boxes because his friend called out to them. "Hey, please come out. We won’t do anything. We were just curious on who was here.” "Curious" is not the word I would use to describe that, he thought, but kept silent. Amber spoke again. "By the way, I still don’t know either of your names.” Wait, there are two of them?
Danny could have sworn he heard quiet voices coming from behind the dark obstruction. I guess that's where they're hiding...His suspicions were confirmed when a figure appeared out of the gloom; a fox with many different patches of color in its coat, so it seemed. It trotted up to them, soon followed by a - holy crap, that was a wolf!
Danny nearly jumped when he saw the wolf appear, but managed to contain his surprise. He really should have been expecting anything; shifters weren't restrained to just a few animals. But I didn't, and now it doesn't matter, he thought. The wolf looked quite frightened, making Danny feel a bit compassionate. Although it's sort of hard to feel bad for a person that's significantly more dangerous than you...well, possibly more dangerous.
After the fox - Djakeal, he called himself - introduced the pair, Danny tried to make his smile friendly. "It's nice to meet you," he said politely. He didn't look at the wolf; he looked as though the slighest thing would scare him.

Chase took each step carefully as he treaded after his companion, and.. friend? I've never had a friend before. He couldn't help but stifle a small smile at the thought, but let it dissapear as fast as it had come. He couldn't have friends.
He found himself in the centre of the large room, the door was cracked enough that he could see better then he had previously, a thin ray of light illuminating enough for his eyes to catch. The presence of Djakeal made him feel a bit more secure in his surroundings, but at the same time the boy in front of him made him nervous. He really shouldn't, I suppose. He noted he was almost more the half the boy's size even in his current form.
His breathing calmed, and his body almost ceased it's shaking, only slight tremors passing through now and then. His gaze focused on the boy, who had been introduced indirectly as Danny. A small cloud of mist huffed from his muzzle as he let out a sigh in the cold air. "Likewise, Danny." His eyes remained unmoving from the target of his vision. He could almost imagine the 3 of them startled by the calm, friendly tone in his voice. But if he had learned anything over the years, recover quickly was always one of them.
Sitting lightly, his tail tip twitched in focus. He didn't mean to be stareing so much as he was lost in thought, Danny being his focus. The feeling I get from him, It's.. Another deep intake produced a small cloud of vapor to dissapear in front of him as he breathed. It's like how I feel when I'm.. He blinked slowly.
