- Malls were not and generally are not the best place to find "peace and quiet" as it where. They were, however, a simply wonderful place to both people watch and enjoy the splendor of pointless but exuberant last minute sales and sinless shopping of clearances racks galore. It was for those two, sole reasons that the equine shape shifter had even set foot inside of the people infested place. Under other circumstances, Adriano would have avoided the place like some kind of sickened vermin had inhabited the establishment and, therefore, made it unfit for even stained hands to enter.
- The food court was a common breeding ground of germs and bacteria as it was but given the nature of the equine shape shifter's visit to the mall, that was the least of his concerns. With a small, white envelope safely tucked into the small pocket on the inside of the leather vest he wore, the starched shirt underneath both carefully hide the package as well as provided a both liberating yet unwanted effect of displaying certain, highly fashionable, stripper attributes - mainly the musculature of a dancer and athlete. The female specie found that all too endearing and enticing sometimes. At the present moment, Adriano was not particularly found of them and, honestly, was itching to rid himself of a small, bothersome nagging at the back of his mind. Long story short it had been many years since he had been with another person significantly and, like any respectable gentleman, sometimes had certain... urges that needed quenching. But that is another discussion for another day...
- As it stood, the male was there for people watching and some, customary last minute shopping to update a few of the shelves in his store. The three, heavy plastic bags to stood around his feet was evidence enough of that. Each contained a small number of books - each heavily bound in authentic leather and engraved with gilded lettering - but there titles were obscure. There was a purpose for that. Adriano fully intended these tales to be read by his own hands before being placed on the shelves at his heritage and passed into another set of willing and capable hands. Three books, however, placed in a fourth bag where for an entirely different purpose. His mother's birthday was coming up in a week's time and while Adriano made it a point to not contact the woman who raised him, he was not so uncouth as to blatantly neglect the woman. Knowing her address and sending the tomes to the woman was a present without a return address was all he intended to do - it was something the equine shape shifter did every year - if only to reassure his mother that he was alive, if not well.

By far, the most expensively dressed would be a tall, blond girl named Alexx. The expensively dressed girl strode out of the Ambercrombie & Fitch store, trailed by two other girls. The girl out in front, who was obviously the leader, was wearing her hair down in soft, natural waves about her face. Her xskirt was short, pink, and definitely cute. Alexx's top was a simple white tee - with the sleeves and everything else from the bust down cut off. The other two girls, one Asian and the other a brunette, were dressed similarly in shorts and tees, although wearing different colors from both Alexx and each other. Alexx carried nothing but her purse and a small shopping bag from a rather expensive boutique. Monica and Anna, however, carried not only their own purses, but they also carried several large shopping bags.
"Aleeexxx. I'm huuungryyyy. Can we go get something to eat now?" Monica whined, polished lips turning down in a pout. "We have been shopping for forever, and it is past lunch time." Anna timidly put in. Alexx rolled her eyes and flipped her hair. "No, if we're going to go eat we're going to have to leave the mall, and I'm not done shopping yet." Monica groaned as Alexx scanned the immediate area, trying to decide what store she should go to next. Definitely not any of those stupid generic stores like JC Penny or Kohls. Those store were just...ick. Alexx's eyes fell on Adriano, and she almost passed him by if it wasn't for his incredibly cute face. Raising an eyebrow, she noted his clothing. They were cleverly worn, cloaking what appeared to be a fine body. Alexx smirked, feeling rather savvy for noticing the man's attempt to be unnoticeable. As for why he would want his body to be concealed intrigued Alexx. Most guys, who were cute, put themselves out there and paraded around showing off every good aspect of their body. Why would this guy not do that?
Alexx turned her attention back to Monica and Anna, both of whom were unsuccessfully trying to hide their hunger. With a small sigh, Alexx responded with, "God. Fine. You know what? Go ahead and eat." She tried to keep the insults to the minimum, because she didn't want to guilt Monica into not going to get something to eat. Monica was constantly fretting about how much she ate, for she gained weight easily. Anna, on the other hand, could eat like a dinosaur and never gain a pound. Alexx flipped her hair again and strode off in the direction of the food court, making a beeline for the unknown male. Before he had a chance to notice her, Alexx's walk had more of an inviting quality to it. It no longer was a "no nonsense walk" but it became a "you want to play?" sort of walk. Monica started to talk, asking about why Alexx was going for that loser, but the blond girl interrupted her saying, "Monica, why don't you go get me a soda." A stiff smile was planted on Alexx's face as she pointedly looked at Monica. The brown haired girl paused for a moment, before Anna pulled her away. "C'mon Monica. You are hungry, aren't you?"
The blond heiress turned back to Adriano and slid into a chair across from him. He had a peculiar set of glasses perched on his nose, and Alexx tried to determine why he'd wear those. There were such of thing as contacts, hello. Not only were the glasses a real downer, but there was the issue with the several shopping bags that littered the ground around his feet. They were obviously filled with books, indicating that this gentleman was a bookworm. 'I hope he has some better interests besides that.' Alexx thought before brightly smiling and saying, "Hey there. Are you new in Shelpey? I haven't seen you around before."

- Chinese food, in general, is disgusting, but even more so when it is served with a side of once rotten, reheated rice and something that was called pork but was nothing more than simply starch and pig fat molded together into a disgustingly squishy mess of slop. The plastic fork gingerly prodded at the sustenance and the book store owner sighed, annoyed with his own purchase, setting aside the... meal with a hint of anger.
- The books that he had bought were shifted to the side, the plate pushed to the edge of the table without any further thought and the simple bottled water popped open, the equine shape shifter sipping it almost daintily before replacing it on the linoleum, cheap table with a hollow thud. The mall was becoming crowded as more teeny-boppers and their hordes descended upon the establishment, prepared to do business with the merchants and spend all their parent's hard earned money. Adriano leaned over, picking through the books that he had purchased for himself and casually plucked one free from the hold of its bag mates. With a soft whistle, dusting off a speck of imagined dirt from the binding, the book store owner opened to the first page.
- It was a new series that was in a genre he was not particularly fond of but had heard praise for from some highly reliable sources. Whilst shopping, he had seen the entire series presented in detestable paperback sitting upon the shelves so innocently, waiting for someone to chance come by and purchase them in their entirety. Adriano had simply not been able to so easily dispatch or deny such an indulgence. It had been, after all, months since he had bought books - even one - for his own amusement and not merely to fulfill an order or aid in furthering the extent of the collection that his parents and grandparents had worked so painstakingly to establish over the years and generations. The series was something of Fantasy or Fiction genre and was simply entitled "The Sword of Truth", the first book being Wizard's First Rule and Adriano quite eagerly began digging into the words. Within the first few paragraphs, the equine shape shifter found himself sucked into the imaginary world of the characters and merely chuckled at how easily he was seduced by the clever words and details.
- It was, then, not unlikely or surprising to find that Adriano was thoroughly surprised to find another person sitting at his table without hearing them approach - even more surprising to find that it was a woman... A rather attractive woman but a woman none the less and, personally, Adriano was not entirely entranced to that species for the time being. The party the previous few nights ago had been the reason being this current distaste for the female counterparts. He placed the book down, using his index finger to keep the page and stare upwards at the stranger with a wry grin and over the top of his strangely 1700s style glasses.
- "New? Hardly," Adriano grinned for a moment and soon it dropped, staring at the girl before leaning back in his seat with the amusement gone and merely interest apparent at the moment. The equine shape shifter crossed his arms, faking interest but really simply wanting to return to reading the book he had dared to crack open. "I own a book store just off of the main street through Shelpey but I do appreciate the welcome none the less. Might I inquire as to your name?"

Alexx felt somewhat rewarded as the boy put down his book with a grin. "New? Hardly." The guy replied, grin slipping from his face. Instead, the inquisitive look of interest crossed his features. He peered over his glasses in a queer way, much like a professor would. One eyebrow lifted upwards slightly. This man certainly was unusual. Although Alexx was focused on Adriano, she could sense more than see the flow of people as they started to leave the food court. After all, the lunch hour was practically over. These miserable souls would return to their window shopping and sale finding. Not surprisingly, Alexx felt a peculiar sort of triumph about others in the mall. On one hand, she almost pitied the beings for their inability to afford a comfortable lifestyle. On another hand, she felt as though she deserved to lord over them her superior upbringing and lifestyle. Alexx's smile expanded slightly as Adriano spoke again.
"I own a book store just off of the main street through Shelpey but I do appreciate the welcome none the less. Might I inquire as to your name?" 'A book store. That explains why I've never seen him.' The slender girl could read, don't get me wrong, but she didn't enjoy it very much. She certainly didn't waste any time going to a library or bookstore or any other such nonsense. 'Although, if all book store owners are as cute as this one, maybe I'll make an exception.' The girl thought, self-satisfaction whelming up in her. "I'm Alexx Dovina," she replied, extending one dainty hand for a handshake, "My father is running for mayor. Perhaps you've seen his campaign posters about?" Not really interested in her father's run for mayor, Alexx's eyes dropped to scan what was on the table.
There was a hardcover book sitting there, looking all innocent. Alexx's head tipped slightly so she could read the title. Having never heard of it, she lost interest in that and glanced at the plate of food that sat perilously near to the edge of the table. Alexx grimaced at the rotten, slimy looking Chinese food. This was why she never ate in the mall. The food they served here was mostly just fat, sugar, and calories. Never a good combination when you're trying to keep a nice figure. At least there was a healthy bottle of water sitting next to the greasy food - although the brand wasn't topnotch. Alexx briefly wondered if the bookstore keeper worked out to keep in shape. It didn't seem like it was a very bookish activity, but had to stay in that shape somehow. 'Maybe he has a fast metabolism like Anna...?' She speculated before glancing down at the shopping bags from the corner of her eye. "Mind if I have a look? What books did you get?" She said, not necessarily interested in the books, but more interested in keeping the gentleman talking. With a coy smile, Alexx returned her gaze to Adriano, still enjoying the sound of his voice.
There was something soothing about a man's voice. It was deep and strong, and when you laid your head against their chest it would resonate deep. Just as Alexx could easily entrance a man with her lilting tone, she was easily entranced by a deep, strong voice.
OhOhSea://
I'm assuming he introduced himself after Alexx introduced herself. Just lemme know if I'm wrong xD I'll fix it ^_^
