Appearance:
HUMAN;Personality:
Evangeline is what most call a 'slim figure'. She's about 5 foot 3 inches, but don't let her size fool you. She runs every day, and so her legs make her quick and hard to catch if she had to run away. She's not very chesty nor does she have any extremely appealing features - she tends to be looked over when in a crowd, though that makes her so mad she manages to dye her hair what seems like every month a new color. She likes to pick bright, noticeable neon colors and red and unnatural streaks because she hates being looked over. Her eyes are a bright blue anyways, and paired with her oddly colored hair she manages to stand out almost anywhere. She's toying with the idea constantly of getting a piercing on her nose just to seal the deal.
ANIMAL;
As an okapi (though not as fat as the one in the picture xD), she is a sort of dark maroon color with interestingly bright and odd striped legs and buttocks. Her face is a more tan-ish color and her eyes are, though not shown in the picture, the same bright blue color. She's about as big as a horse and so is hard to hide when in animal form, and that's why she prefers to be human unless the situation calls for it. Her strengths as an okapi are her speed, which is amplified by those legs, and her hooves. She can deliver pretty damaging blows by bucking and striking out with her hooves, and her slim body is like a bullet when she needs to make a quick escape. Also, her hearing is very good because of the size of those ears, and likewise, so is her smell. The only downside is her vision isn't very clear, though like a horse she can see the space beside her and towards her back. Her only blind spots are directly in front and directly behind.
Eve is very talkative and chatty. She tends to hate awkward silences and often fills the gaps with random bits of information she's picked up on the streets. She has a thing for twisting her hair and she often picks out the split ends when there's nothing to do. She chews her lip a lot when she's thinking or is nervous, and is often skittish and will jump at any sound. She hates being alone and tends to try to find someone who can put up with her weirdness and sticks with them through thick and thin. She's a nervous eater and enjoys fatty foods to calm her mind down, her favorite being cheesy fries. Being a great and fast talker, the only downside is she can be read like an open book and she leaves nothing to the imagination. She's bad at keeping secrets and tends to try not to listen to people when they say something secretive to her for fear that she won't be able to keep it to herself. She loves music and is often listening to her iPod when she's out jogging or at home.History:
Eve was born in a small town in Wyoming, in the mountains. There she lived on a ranch with her grandparents, for her actual parents had died in a wildfire when she was only three. She was raised the hard way and taught how to do work and rope cattle, having limited television and internet connection. She never had any close friends and she mostly kept with her horses, fascinated by the way they were built and how they communicated most of the time without sound. When she was 14, she shifted for the first time while out in the pasture, and her horses ran from her, startled. Not knowing what to do with herself, she copied the horses' moves and their body language and began to understand how to use her new eyes, nose, ears, and body. Eventually the horses accepted her into their herd, and at night she would sneak out and shift and become one with the horses even though she was an okapi. She never questioned why she could shift or the consequences it might bring - her grandparents never found out, but Evangeline found out about them.Sample:
A few weeks after her first shift, she was coming in from the pasture when the sun was just rising when she was a strange brown shape out in the distance, on the hill. Her blood ran cold when she discovered it was an okapi, also, and it was so unusual that she crept up the hill towards it. She could see the okapi was noticeably old, and when the sun was becoming bright the okapi shifted into her grandmother. Eve stayed in the forest and watched her grandmother walk off to the house, and terrified as she was, she was also excited, because she was not the only one with this ability.
She never got the guts to ask her grandmother about shifting before her grandparents both fell sick and ordered her off to Shelpey Alley several years later. She was old enough (19) to be on her own and was one year through college with flying colors, and there were jobs in surrounding vicinities for her. She left for the Alley and was informed a few weeks later that they both died of pneumonia. To this day, Eve lives with the Thieves, desperate for the family she had lost twice in her life.

Ekene was beginning to like this Renn Gamba, but she did not like her attitude or the way she positioned herself so close to the Malkia on their walk back. Time to assert her dominance, hmm? She whirled around, hackles raised, fur going stuff and her eyes hard, though her lips did not roll up. A small, gutteral sound issued from her throat, a hyena warning for Stay the hell back there. She stared down Renn for a few more moments before turning around and continuing walking, resuming her normal, quiet, thoughtful pace. Ekene was not like most leaders - she did not outwardly scream Malkia, but if challenged or pressed, she would come out, like she just had. She hadn't intended to be so angry and rough about it, though it'd happened.
"You must know my name, or else you wouldn't have gotten into Ebele in the first place, would you?" Her words made sense. She would have had to review the member before she joined, and though she did not remember Renn specifically, she figured Renn would remember her. "If not, we have a problem," she added, her words taking on a somewhat dangerous tone as her mind flickered back to the Kufikiria's obvious bullheadedness.
"And no. Your first chance has long since passed, and you failed to grasp hold of it." What did that mean, hmm? That maybe she was alerting Renn to her bad attitude in yet another way than physically growling at her - her words had an underlying tone of 'don't be stupid again' and Ekene suddenly seemed much more dangerous then. If she wanted to, she could get angry with this youngling, but it was not necessary, though her warnings were loud and clear. She did not feel the need to express outward anger towards Renn because quite obviously she was the Malkia and should not present herself as such.
Damn that to hell.
