Image includes both forms.Personality:
As a human, she's pretty cute. Her light copper hair darkens naturally near the ends, and she wears it long. It's not uncommon to see her tie it back, depending on the day. But despite her tom-boy outlook on life, she'd never cut it short.
She stands roughly five and a half feet tall, with room to grow. Her skin is light, but not pale, holding plenty of healthy color to it. If one were to look close enough, they'd notice many tiny scars, barely noticable though.
Her eyes, though, draw attention away from everything else; a bright, and surprisingly natural, gold in color. She makes the excuse that they're just a light brown or hazel, sometimes even claiming contacts are behind the odd coloration.
She wears (despite the reference image) summer clothes nearly year round, varying from t-shirts and tank tops, to long-sleeved turtlenecks that don't do much for warmth. Whatever the reason is behind her unique style, it suits her. She always wears, though, a pair of fingerless gloves that go up to her elbows. They're held to her hands with a single golden ring on each, and they have holes for the thumbs.
Another note on this;
Topaz has scars on her back, front and arms that she hides skillfully... She's not seen showing off her middrift or back, and it's rare she shows her arms. She always has her gloves on, which hide the scars.
Her tattoo is located on her lower back, where a 'tramp stamp' would be.
Mooooving on~
Her cat form is something to behold! Standing 2'4" at the shoulder, but again with room to grow, this Persian Leopard is not only rare, but beautiful. Her tail is appearantly longer then her actual body, held up oddly like a snow leopard's, while her coat is a crimsony tawn in color. Whatever scars could be seen easily on her before are now hidden by the long, thick fur.
Friendly enough, though a bit socially arkward. Topaz was always on her own, from early childhood, so getting along with people can sometimes be overwhelming for her; baby steps are the best bet to get to know her better.History:
She's incredibly energetic, though that fails her in the mid summer heat. Unfortunatly, Persian Leopards, no matter what form or how well trimmed, always always felt the heat in summer.. She's happiest in winter, often finding bliss in the coldest weather.
It's hard to understand her upbeat personality, if you know her past. But it's there. Her mood is always pleasent, willing to joke and have fun despite the situation.
Topaz herself, the cat, is very calm and well natured, though she still has her fun. A more serious side of the normally fun-loving Emily. When Emily is in her cat form, she's often much calmer. And at times, even more affectionate.
More to come as time goes on, probably. Her person is under development due to her young, impressionable age.
Her mother died during childbirth, and her father was dead long before she was born. No one knows how he died, but it was probably the reason Top's mum stopped caring. Rotten start on life, huh?Sample:
She went instantly to live with her godparents; John and Carol. Both were strict, and didn't show her any sort of love. They often reminded her that it was her birth that killed her mother.
For the first nine years of her life, Emily was homeschooled. It all ended when she ran away from home, one day fed up with the bad-talking and neglect. Sadly, no one reported her missing. (They really didn't care.) Born and raised in Texas, she had a long journey before she finally arrived in Shelpey, though the call never beckoned her. It wasn't for another few weeks that she realized she wanted to stay here instead of moving on again...
During her growing years, she created a persona of herself in her mind that eventually grew to become all too real. To avoid the dreaded reality of her neglect, and later, the abuse (from her 'father' who started drinking when she was six). She often turned to 'Topaz', the alter-ego in her head, the cat that was her other form, for comfort and acceptance. Emily only started calling herself Topaz outside of her beastial form when she arrived in Shelpey.
**Note**
Often in roleplays involving her, I, the player, may tune into her mindscape. It's a small enclosure, like in a zoo, where she and Topaz will converse about the situation.
Retz[/b];;
He had never felt so sober. Normally, the young man would be wandering the city, high as ever. But now... no, not on this day. This was the only day he purposely sobered for. This was his day, one that was for remembering him. He knelt down infront of an old tree, back turned to it, a notebook in hand as he scribbled down doodles of a young boy, not twelve years old. Below every doodle of the boy's cartooned face was a name; Cody.[/blockquote]Other:
Eight years ago, Cody had gone away. Eight years ago, Retz ended up alone. It was twelve years ago that he had learned to control his change without much effort. All because of Cody. And that... thing took him away.
Retz murmured under his breath as he mindlessly doodled, a familiar song humming off his lips in a whimpered melody. The lyrics from a boy's song 'Vanilla Twilight' rang into the silent twilight sky, though no one was around to hear it. He knew how... homosexual? No no, let's go with gay. He knew how gay it was to miss his friend, no, his brother in arms in such a way, but honestly... he had no better way to remember him. It was that tragic day that turned him down the wrong road.
"I wanted to make this journey with you brother..." Whispered words were made to the gray drawings. "I felt the winds changing even then. You should be here with me." And with such words spoken, the sober man's mind drifted off into space once again.
The lands around him almost seemed to match the depressive mood. The trees were darkened with decay, the stones that littered the plot were broken and unkept, the metal rods showing underneath their worn surfaces. He had avoided the pearly white stones in the front of the graveyard, moving straight to the forgotten backlands of it. The lone tree had made for a perfect place to sit without disturbing the sleeping bodies around him.
How stupid of me. He mused to himself, sketching down a single, characteristic headstone. On it, the name Cody was etched in fine letters. I used to hold my breath in places like this. Those dead souls meant more to me then the living ones... you taught me that, brother dear. A sad smile curled onto his lips. God knows I miss you.I miss you...
*She's unsure of herself thus far. Liable to change as she grows.
