It's come to my attention that not all members are doing this. I honestly don't know why, since I've pretty much used this feature all my life on proboards. You know that wonderful little drop-down menu when you log in that asks you for how long you'd like to remain logged in? Have you ever seen the option for 'forever'?
Well, click it.
I don't know about you, but personally I find it kind of irksome when I'll see someone in the chat box, and yet I don't see them listed in the members online box because they aren't logged in. I like being able to rest assured that I'm not talking to a ghost.
Maybe you don't quite know what it means by 'forever'. No, it will not list you as online when you're actually fast asleep with the computer turned off. All it does is automatically log you in when you open the site. Easy as that. You can shave off those extra ten seconds that it takes to log in. And you'll be listed as online if you actually ARE online.
SECONDLYYYY. More of a personal preference, although I find it very convenient. Set your homepage to Shelpey Alley. With the miracles of internet browsers these days, you can even set multiple homepage tabs to automatically come up when you open the internet, so you can keep your current one and have a second (or eighth) tab bring up this site.
So by doing these, you can accomplish many things:
Your account will remain on the active members in the past 24 hours list. You'll look active, even if you don't post.
You're checking the site (daily, I'd presume) for important news updates and PMs.
It's what Vulpine does. And we all know that doing as Vulpine does makes you cool.
It'll also help the site to appear as active as we really are, and encourage new members to join.
GOT IT? GOOD.
Well, click it.
