As some of you know, our official plots have this neat little policy where you PM a staff member and ask for them to list you in the "Participating Players" section. This means people can see if you're taking part or not, and can plot with you as well as other people! It's a nice way to see who's in a plot and what characters will be taking part.
However, it seems that some of our members ask to have their names written down, and then... never post. This is obviously a bit of an issue, because the other players will loiter around and not get anything done, waiting for everybody to post so that nobody gets left behind. Because this isn't fair on our active players, I'd like for all Shelpians to read this thread and take to heart what it says. It's important, because it's an agreement.
From this point forward with all official Shelpey plots (please note, official plots that are monitored by staff) we're going to have you members effectively sign this agreement when you ask to join an official plot. It's not serious, and it's not really a change on any of our rules, but this is going to be put in place to keep the plot moving and our active members with a roleplay to have fun in.
When you ask to join a plot, you agree to the following:[/u]
When you ask to join a plot, you agree and recognise that:
Now I know it's all big and formal and scary but it is important you keep this in mind. This isn't some huge "screw you guys" post, I promise it's not, but we want to keep Shelpey's plots alive this time around, and the best way to do that is make sure all you guys sort of silently agree to these terms and conditions when you ask to join.
That way you already know how it's going to go down, and you know what we ask of you when you join a plot.
We do love you all at Shelpey. Honest. But we can't keep letting our plots die as the active roleplayers sit and wait an eternity for people who can't come online or simply end up not posting.
Thank you all in advance if you read all of this. <3 We appreciate it.

• You will post in order of one another so that no one player gets left behind. It sucks to get left behind, especially in a plot driven roleplay, so a posting order is to be kept as much as possible in plot threads.
• You will post actively in the plot thread. It isn't fair to all our other members to cause unnecessary hold ups, and so our active posting rule is going to be enforced in plot threads as much as possible to keep it moving.
When you ask to join a plot, you agree and recognise that:
• If you do not post at all, your name will be taken from the player list. We will not make active players wait for you. It's your responsibility to join the roleplay and if you do not post within two weeks of the roleplay starting your name will be removed and you will have to PM a staff member to join the thread again.
• If you stop posting actively, all active players can continue to post without you. This covers all circumstances, whether you tell us about your absence or not. We can't keep holding up plots for three weeks, because they are important to Shelpey.
