The sand shifting beneath her bare feet was an old, familiar feeling that the young woman had missed dearly and she danced along the beach with her visible green eye glowing happily. It had been a long five months that she had been gone, traveling across the country to compete in martial arts competitions so that she could get her name out there. As much as she loved competing, she'd done it for the specific purpose of making her known around the country in the hopes that it would help her build a possible clientele for when she - hopefully soon - finally managed to open her own school. That was her goal; open a martial arts school and teach people until she was too old to do it anymore. Then she would pass it on to her best student - hopefully Andrei or another child of hers that she'd probably end up having - and hope for the best.
The beach hadn't really changed at all in the time that she was gone, not that that surprised her much. It was just one of those things that didn't change suddenly. Minor things changed over years and years of wear, not five months of normal seasonal weather. The sand was still a pretty, blinding at times off-white color and the water was a blue and unending as ever. She'd already dunked her feet in the water a little and found that is was as cool and refreshing as she remembered it too.
"Man, I missed it here. Ain't no place like home," she grinned, eyes scanning the beach only to lock onto the familiar form of her boyfriend and widen. "Ah! I didn't think he'd be here today! Oh, Kyo, I am so gonna get you." A mischievous look taking over her face, Trinell started jogging for Kyo, making sure to stay directly behind him the entire time. She had a couple of close calls in which she thought she was going to be seen but her quick reflexes saved her each time until, finally, she was close enough to jump him. Getting just a little closer, Trinell grinned from ear to ear and yelled, "KYO!" He whirled around, looking surprised, only to be tackled into the ground by Trinell. Before he could do anything, Trinell dropped her head and kissed him senseless, coming up for air after she felt she'd kissed him stupid.
To Trinell's surprise, her boyfriend looked like he'd been through the wringer while she was away. The poor guy looked like shit. Tsking, Trinell hugged him tightly and cuddled against him. "What the hell happened to you while I was away, Hun? You look like shit." She asked, looking up at him with worried eyes. "I haven't seen you look this bad in forever." She added, hugging him a little more tightly. "I missed you too, you big lug." She added with a light grin, hoping to make Kyo smile.

It was the first time that he'd actually been out in the daylight in months. At first it was alright, he just hadn't had any motivation to leave the house. Nothing too unhealthy, he still went to work and everything. But then he met a gypsy in a bottle of Jim Beam. She spun the quaintest little tales for him, and they got more and more attached. Pretty soon, he spent his days sleeping off the night's booze, and his nights drinking more. It wasn't supposed to turn out like that. But he had gotten really lonely while Trinell was gone, and the alcohol had made the loneliness go away. It also brought on a few drunk hallucinations, but those were stories for another time.
He had finally emerged though, having been cut off by a friend. Good thing too, he needed to get out of the house. Actually.. He probably needed to get into it and clean it up. There were five months worth of alcohol bottles laying around.
"KYO!"
He swiftly turned around in response to his name being spoken. He wasn't expecting to be tackled to the ground, though. Or the fact that Trinell was back for real, and was in fact on top of him at that very moment.
Something he also wasn't expecting was the passionate kiss she greeted him with. She practically kissed him out of his own mind, but he was happy to at least try to return the favor.
"What the hell happened to you while I was away, Hun? You look like shit."
He blinked, remembering that he hadn't shaved in a while. And his hair had probably grown out all weird because he hadn't got it cut again recently either. He glanced down. His clothes also seemed to be mismatched. Huh. He could've sworn they matched when he had left earlier... Weird.
"I haven't seen you looking this bad in forever."
"It's more like what didn't happen. Didn't shave, didn't get a haircut... Obviously forgot to go to the eye doctor...." He trailed off with a smile, gesturing down at his clothes. Honestly he didn't even know he had a pair of pants that were plaid. Or a striped blue and green shirt. Wait... He didn't. Where the he'll had those clothes come from?!
"I missed you too, you big lug."
Of course that brought a wide grin to his face. "I guarantee you I missed you more," He snickered, hugging her tight.
"But when did you get back? And where did you even go? Your dog missed you." he felt like he didn't have enough time to tell her everything he wanted to. Oh yeah, where did Yuuki get off to? Last time Kyo had seen her she was eating the food he'd given her.. Two days ago. And she was getting kind of fat wasn't she? How old was she now... Almost two years or so. What if she was pregnant? Oh god Trinell would never forgive him..
Dammit, why did he bring up the dog?
