Shapeshift Form: snow leopard
Appearance:
Human: The young girl is relatively short, standing at a humble 5 feet 3 inches. She's also a towhead, likely in respect to her shifted form's preference for the cool blankness of white snow. Her hair falls down just short of shoulder length, but in minor confusion on whether it wants to be straight or curly. Living a life that's far from cushioned, she's acquired a pretty strong build. Fast feet and a little muscle can go a long way on the streets, eh? On the other hand, being homeless hasn't done much for her wardrobe. Black basketball shorts hang down past her knees below an old white tank top that's on her torso. A ragged light blue hoodie with a zipper is above the tank should the weather call for it, and if it happens to be warm it'll find itself tied around her waist. On occasion she'll give a thought to her appearance, but those occasions are rare, and she'll do little to cover up whatever dents or scuffs life might decide to display on any exposed skin.Personality:

Bald's personality is best described as hardened beyond her age. Despite the continued desire for mischief and trickery, anyways. She's one to give heavy thought before speaking, but little thought before acting. Trust is hard won, if it's even possible at all to do so. She's often viewed as 'cold' by those she's not familiar with. Should you find yourself to be one of the lucky few that Baldie's fond of however, it seems an entire new being is unlocked. Still as cool and collected as can be gathered at first glance, but with a hint of ..ehh, friendliness?Simply put, genuine affection is a hard thing for her to do.History:
Baldwind was born into a family two recessive genes away from being normal. Her parents were only carriers of the biological curse; however, Bald and her sister were not so lucky as to escape it's biological programming. They both got the gene. They both got the coding within their human bodies that could command their average form to shift. The ability to change into another being, another animal not human, her leopard, was unlocked.Sample:
Cleo and Bald, fraternal twins, learned of their powers at a young age. It was understood that their parents had never before heard of the shifting race. It was understood that it must be kept this way. So the two hid their animal from everyone but themselves, and struggled to live a fake life that replicated that of any other young person's. Life was easy, perhaps the twins would even venture to call it 'good'.
That is, until the day the secret got out. All the flame of their parent's love died in one flicker, and the two twins watched as a new emotion bubbled in their mother and father's eyes. They would not have freak shows for children; how dare they be such retched beasts! Bald's father took to the chair, breaking from it it's leg and beating out the two impostors of his children that no longer belonged in his home. Bald's mother resorted to wailing and shouting at them as they fled from a sudden rain of hatred. Among many horrible names, the accusation of "monsters" rested upon the twin's heads, flung from the mouth of their very own mother. Regardless of how truthful Bald considered this name to be, it still stung. It stung to be called that, to be disowned, to be thrown out. It stung to only have your sister to accept you , and it burned to only have your sister to love.
The pair fled to their grandparents, knowing that their grandma too processed the shifting ability, and there-forth might be able to sympathize with their plight. Indeed she did, and for moment in time the twins found a haven in hell in the safety of her care.
But these two seem not destined for "pretty" lives, and yet again misfortune would strike. But now it's crippling fingers did not reach for the twins, rather they were the ones that controlled it's grasp. Murder is what their hands, their claws, committed. They raked down their grandmother in jealous rage of what they lacked, what she was the only one to still have. Their parent's love.
Perhaps it was shame, anger, perhaps fear that again drove them from the last place redolent of "home". Perhaps it was the drying blood. Regardless, they left everything they've ever known behind. Any home Bald has can be found in Cleo; her right-hand-man, her vital component. She's like the shell to the back, like the ability to breathe air, or the pump of the heart. Eventually the hurt died down. Old wounds will heal, with scars, with lingering soreness. Old wounds will heal.
The twins find themselves in a near ghost town apparently dubbed, "The City of Angels", and make a graveyard their unofficial 'home'. Such a place doesn't much suit Bald's taste, and she hopes to make the trip to a.. more fitting city for a shifter such as herself and her twin.
Baldwind huffed out a sigh of discontent. Her eyelids slowly slid open to view a hazy nighttime scene of a graveyard, with grass sprouting out from the lower side of her view. She slowly lifted herself from the ground while one hand came up to clutch her aching head with a groan. Had she really fallen asleep on top of some old man’s grave? Returning to full consciousness without any concept of haste, the teenager peered around the abandoned graveyard. There was no sign of life, rather the shattered headstones that lay around the property strongly hinted towards just the opposite. She pondered her twin’s whereabouts for a moment before her stomach brought to her the much more pressing matter of food with a monstrous rumble. She replied to her intestine’s call with a low rumbling growl of her own, this one originating from her throat. One last yawn escaped her mouth while body contorted into a new form. The snow leopard was already jogging towards a trashcan by the time the heap of clothing fell to the ground. Leopard had already tackled and spilled the tin container and eaten half of its edible contents by the time the graveyard’s dust settled around the abandoned clothes.Other:

Character was originally created for roleplay on Furcadia, and thus has a website.
If you haven't noticed already, another character "Cleo" is quite an essential element to Baldwind's character. I'll see if I can get the owner of that character to join this site later on, eh? (:
