Appearance:
Human: Ian is a tall figure, lumbering at about 5 feet, 11 inches (about 1.6 meters). His body is lean and well muscled at the arms and legs. Ian, being a sports fanatic, is a very fast runner at long distances and short bursts of speed. His practice makes him good at sharp turns and all kinds of races. His face is slim with high cheek bones with wide eyes. Ian has unique eyes, that being blue with tints of gold--sometimes more than other times, with pale pinkish lips and a perfect nose.. Ian's hair is a few inches long, falling in front of his eyes in light waves. His locks of hair is a very dark, shady brown although in the light sometimes slightly lighter tints of brown can be seen.Personality:
Ian has fairly normal length arms, reaching right below his bony hips. His fingers are long with trimmed nails. He has a light layer of hair over his arms and legs, as he doesn't shave that often. His arms are well muscled enabling him to pick up heavy things and giving him a good grip. Being a runner, his legs of course are practically all muscle with narrow ankles and strong bones. He has big feet and is usually seen wearing tennis shoes.
Ian is not one to be picky with cloths and can be seen wearing almost anything that guys normally wear. Sometimes he wears shirts such as polo shirts at other times when it's cold, he'll wear sweatshirts. As for pants it's common for him to wear sweat pants and windbreakers for sport activities and of course, tennis shoes for running. Of course his pants always have pockets for things like car keys for his black Scion Tc, wallet with money, pictures, credit, debt, and gift cards, cell phone, and pretty much every adult has. When he's relaxed he will occasionally wear flip-flops and other accessories such as sun glasses.
Lastly, his walk is a cool, collective amble. He doesn't strut, or slouch, or even glides, but just walks his own pace of relaxation. He doesn't like to rush things actually when going from place to place. Ian's walk kind of a cool, slow walk.
Animal (Osprey):
When in his bird form, Ian only stands at 2 feet (about 0.6 meters) which is actually large for a bird and weighs around 3.5 pounds (about 1.5 kilograms). He is an osprey, a large graceful bird of prey, a raptor more specifically and sometimes known as the "sea hawk" or "sea eagle". Ian's feathers are smooth and have a streaked coloring usually with tints of white, brown, and black. His large wings are angled slightly backward wingtips as he flies.
Ian's breast is a snowy white feathering, very soft. White his front is lightly splattered with brown streaks, his under belly is a pure white coloring. His small round head is white with a black mask around the eyes which reach all the way to the side of the neck. His irises are the usual blue-gold, but as a bird is more seen as a rich golden hue. The upper side of his wings are a dark brown, seemingly black, like his hair with flecks of white covering the wing and back. Ian's head is again a dark brown, but in bright light can look like a dark indigo blue.
Ian's beak curves to a sharp point at the end with a thin blue cere. He stands on white feet with extremely sharp talons, his seemingly only weapon.
Ian is a relaxed, laid-back young man. He lets things pass by in life without a care. He laughs and smiles at many things just to cheer people up. He is pretty polite and knows his manners well. He doesn't care if he talks to strangers, sometimes chatting with them as if they were friends. He isn't wary around people unless they are certain to no good. Ian never seems sad really, just believing things happen for a reason. He believes that things usually end up for the better.History:
Then again, he's not usually a happy person either. Ian keeps to himself, but really has not important secret except for his strange ability. He's a very neutral person, listening to all aspects of a decision before taking a side. He is fairly reasonable which is why he isn't yet in a guild. Indeed he has heard of them, but he prefers to keep out of them as many of them are teenagers and aren't as "mature" yet.
Even so, he is a loyal person. He doesn't like it when people are bullied, and although he doesn't like fighting, he certainly has the muscles to back it up. He isn't afraid of hurting people though, not matter his dislike of fighting, but he is out right against killing. He is willing to stand up for people who he doesn't know and easily becomes friends with people as he is easy to be around. Maybe not fun, but easy to get along with for anyone... even girls. Then again, he's never had a real attraction to girls, even so--he's not gay.
Ian was born into a good family, wealthy, but not rich. He's not spoiled though, and didn't get anything he wants of course. He has a younger brother at the tender age of 8, but the age difference is so great there never really is any family feuds. He actually loves his brother, and it always brings a smile to his face from his random antics.Sample:
Ian grew up in a nice neighbor hood in a 2 story house. Like any kid, he went to school and stayed until college, which is where he is now. He decided to go into psychology of the mind, to learn more about things like therapy as it is his strong point. He has taken a few medical classes for more benefit of himself in life later on. He currently lives in a nice, actual one story house, a 1-2er (1 bedroom, 2 bathroom). He lives alone with his fit dog, a German Shepherd named Shayne. He only gives the basic training for him, but Shayne is pretty much his jogging partner and understands his shape shifting abilities from experience.
As Amber previously guessed Caela was not too pleased. Frowning she briefed him, "If you have been a shifter for that long, you must know the golden rule." She paused to pinch her nose in frustration, maybe calming herself down? "ever tell anyone - anyone unless you know they're a shifter too - what you are. It could get us all in trouble, and we don't want to be the ones paying for your stupid mistake." Her words were quietly spoken, but a trained ear could pick out the tension in her words. Caela took a breath and shook her head to look at up at him.Other:
"You're lucky... might just have doomed... number of... in.... Shelpey..." Caela muttered darkly at him. Amber twitched her whiskers in annoyance of not being able to hear the girl. If the muscle anatomy of a cat could allow it to frown, Amber would be along with a wrinkle in her forehead. She didn't know exactly what she had said, but Amber could guess along the lines of what Caela mentioned. "Uh, this might sound weird, but... are you an animal to shifter humor or something? I've never heard of a shifter who has problems with animal instincts in either form if they're a human to animal shifter, at least...."
The girl cocked her head, watching him as if she were waiting for him to deny--at least that's what it looked like to Amber. The view from the three story building didn't allow a good view point. Admittedly it did make a decent sight seeing area, if only it weren't next to the junkyard. Over yonder, she could pick out citizens as they mechanically worked in their offices. She flicked her golden orbs back down to the two shifters.
"Well I'm really sorry I did that, I like doing it and I was just taking in your scent anyway. I like doing that. So let's just forget about this as they say, it's water under the bridge." The man shrugged as if it were all okay. Okay? Nothing was okay! This... John just admitted he liked sniffing her along with the fact that he was 'just taking in her scent'. Didn't he just say it was his 'dog instinct'? Amber licked her nose, suspicious of this guy.
Though she was troubled by John, her mind whispered praise for Caela. It turns out Alex and Amber were right about recruiting her to the Thieves it seemed. Although she did obviously have a temper, beyond that the girl was actually smart and thought things true. Of course the feline would never say this out loud, but it was nice to point it out to herself anyway.
Her mind tumbled back to John and her own inquires about him and his doings. The first thing that came to her mind was, "... water under the bridge." Whose they? No one actually says that. Amber couldn't even guess what it meant. Did he mean it just doesn't matter anymore? That was far from the truth! Of course this matters! Here is this... 8 years shifting dude who doesn't know any of the rules about shifters. Did he want to be killed by the government? Or poked and prodded as an experiment?
She watched him with carefully suppressed annoyance and anger, very unlike her. Amber wasn't one to snap at people, and she was a nice, caring person pretty much all the time. Of course there's always those little occurrences, bad luck. Maybe there's no such thing as bad luck or good luck though, just misfortune and it's occasional absence. His body grew smaller and smaller, fur covering his body within milliseconds.
A snout poked out and ears shifted to the top of his head. His tail bone grew into a fluffy curled tail. All within a few split seconds he was back into a dog. Just wonderful. John titled his head up to Caela's now higher head and barked at her with his tail wagging... like a dog. What is with his guy? People just don't go answering questions, horrible as the answers might be, and then suddenly shift back. It just isn't right. The man didn't even seem shifter civilized.
Amber flattened her ears against her head in a mind crisis. What should she do? Should she wait for him to change back? For Caela to shift into her hawk form? Maybe she should shift and go down there. Maybe she should just go down as a cat? Stay put? If anything, neither of them would recognize her. Caela wouldn't be able to understand her while she was in her normal form, and besides the girl didn't know her animal form yet. Then again, if she did shift, Caela would be able to recognize her voice even as an animal, that is if she didn't forget her voice. The possibility didn't seem likely.
Amber leaned her head a little more and peered closer. Was there even a way to get down? A little ways off from the building top was a rusty, collapsed bus. It was missing all its tires and the leather seats inside were all torn up. Amber also noticed with some humor that someone had taken the steering wheel. That could've been a happy souvenir. She nearly snorted, well... sneezed, at the thought. Beyond that she could then just jump onto the couch, only a few yards away from where the two stood. The cat vigorously shook its head, clearing thoughts away. She was indecisive--maybe it would just be best to wait a little longer.
His shape shifter tattoo is on the back of his right calf.
Ian is also a very sporty person, he plays many things such as soccer, baseball, swimming, but what he loves most is jogging.
