Kitten padded around the reserve, tired after being chased by mongrels, AGAIN. Jeez, if it wasn't dogs, it was men. The world just didn't want to leave her alone. So she decided to come here, where she could shift and easily get away from or attack whatever came after her.
So here she was, strolling around the most frequent place to find other shifters. Sure the city may have been where you met them as people, but the Reserve is where everyone came to shift and roam around without trouble. She hadn't actually met any here yet, since she'd only been once or twice before. Of course, she was pretty sure she'd meet someone today. She was roaming around completely aloofly, not bothering to be silent while walking, or stopping the leaves from rustling under her paws. She left a quite obvious track in the leaves, not really caring about it, either.
She heard a rustling in the bushes, and saw a blur of white. On impulse, she pounced on it. She almost had whatever it was, however it went darting away in a jumping motion, so she was fairly sure it was someone's pet snow rabbit that had gotten out, since snow hares were not common in this mid summer season. It was somewhat hot, sort of humid like it was going to rain. Kitten vaguely wondered if she would get stuck in the rain with anybody.

The soft green grass gave way easily under the weight of the virtually silent paws of the Liger. The thick pads doing well to muffle any noise and then the fur between his toes adding to is silencing effect. The silvery platinum form of the Liger continued to prowl, making his new trail and taking in the sights of his new home. His tiger stripes were a faded and light metallic, but they were still visible. He gave a shake of his head, shaking off any dirt that had caught to the thick ruff that was his mane. It was too short for him to be considered a lion, but it was longer than any tiger male should have. As a human, he was only 16, an adolescent, but his shifter form was the size of a fully grown male tiger.
He came to a new area after his wandering, and by now the sky had darkened a bit, and especially with the clouds. The leaden sky blocked out the golden rays of the sun, casting the lands below in shadows, but it was still light enough for a human to wander-though with some difficulty. The temperature dropped comfortably, around maybe 72 degrees now, but the humidity refused to vanish completely. He noticed a trail in the leaves, quite obvious actually. He lowered his head to sniff at it, and was surprised to find out it was feline and a female at that. His brows quirked adorably over his crystalline blue orbs as he found a perfect indent of a paw a bit further ahead, and it was quite similar to his. His tail flicked absently at its end for a moment, thinking over the possibility of there being another liger, tiger, or lion about here. How strange…maybe it was a zoo escapee, because certainly none of the 3 felines were native here to Shelpey. Then again, he wasn’t native here, quite new actually. He left his Kawasaki Ninja parked at the edges of the reserve, hidden but easy enough for him to find. With it he left his back pack and other thing he had brought from when his mom had left him. He began following the trail, eyes scanning up ahead every so often as he padded along at a swifter prowl.
And then finally, he saw a form up ahead- orange and black and most definitely familiar. His mother had been a tiger shifter, but she was the only other shifter he knew. The tigress seemed to pounce at something, and then her attention was drawn to something in the brush. A bird of sorts dashed wildly up into the security of the air with a few mad caws. He hadn’t realized he had crouched, tail lashing behind him as he watched the tigress. Once he was aware though, he stood back up and cleared through the brush, approaching from her right side.
“Howdy.” His husky voice called out with its youthful tones, making him sound both “grown-up” and young at the same time. He forgot that animals couldn’t talk back though, and so a low chuckle escaped from between silver lips at his mistake. He padded nearer though, but paused at a respectable distance away. He cocked his head quizzically, meeting her gaze with the cool crystalline blue of his own.

Kitten's ears turned in the direction of an approaching creature. Her fur bristled at the thought that it was a canine again, but then lowered when a breeze brought the scent of another feline. It smelled different though, not quite tiger, a part of the smell was something else. It definitely smelled male, though. Great, more boys! Kitten sighed, turning around to look at the creature that she couldn't identify with her nose.
She jumped back, skidding on the leaves and lowering herself in a defensive crouch when she saw the cat. He was friggin' humongous! He was all silvery colored, too. What was with that? He was one odd feline, that was for sure. Kitten was waiting somewhere in the back of her mind for him to pounce on her or attack, call it instincts if you will. These thoughts were dispersed though, when he spoke.
"Howdy."
She rose to her full height then, which was still shorter than him, and cautiously smelled the air. She still couldn't figure out what that scent was.
"Err, Hi. What exactly are you, big fella?" Kitten asked, stepping only a bit closer to him to look at his weird fur pattern. Her tone was gentle, easygoing even. It was obvious she meant no harm. Her tail swished behind her, still curious as to what exactly he was.

Her reaction to him made him tense up and his tail lash behind him. He hadn’t meant to frighten her, but so far she only looked defensive, not aggressive. She seemed to sort of expect something from him, attack maybe? She changed though after he spoke, seeming to assess the situation, how unusual of an animal. But nothing compared to the shock of hearing her reply. His pale blue eyes widened in clear bewilderment and he flinched backwards into a sitting position, front legs locked and stiff in front of him and head cocking back. He shook his head violently, trying to clear it and flicked his rounded ears forward. Her tone was gentle and she seemed more curious than anything.
“You can talk, why can you talk? Maybe I just understand animals.” He started to babble, trying to make sense of this phenomenon. He tried to keep his voice low, meant only for him, but she was bound to hear him though. He cleared his throat, moving back into his former standing stance. He was still tense, nervous even.
“Uh, I’m a Liger, but in a few more hours I’ll be a human.” He said a bit unsure of himself. He had learned a bit about his shifting on his own, like the whole 12 hour rule. Ky had a good 3 hours left as a Liger left, but oh well. He parted his jaws to receive her scent stronger, and even though it was new and foreign to him, there was also a sort of familiarity. Not only was it feline and tiger, but more. Like his mother in a way, but this clearly wasn’t his mother. Was she a shifter? Where the hell did his mother leave him?! What was Shelpey?
“What are you?” The big question, the moment of truth. This could possibly change his view on shifters, if he’s not the only one. It would be kind of egotistical to feel bad about that, but after spending his life only knowing about him and his parents this was a big thing for Ky. He took a step forward, careful but cant helping his own curiosity. Her fur pattern was strange for a tigers, not having golden stripes. A Golden Tabby then? He lowered his head back level, his own way of showing his peace and then he lowered himself back into a sitting position, not quite relaxed but not as uptight.

“You can talk, why can you talk? Maybe I just understand animals.” 'My lips are moving and sound is coming out. That's talking, huh? Most animals can, big guy.' Kitten though humorously, watching the male from a sitting position about a foot from him.
“Uh, I’m a Liger, but in a few more hours I’ll be a human.”
"Oh, so that explains it. A cross between a Tiger and a Lion. That makes sense with your weird colored pelt. That's pretty awesome." Kitten purred, easing her body down into a lay as she crossed her paws and gave a large, toothy yawn. A crack of thunder rang above her head, and she cringed as a drop of rain hit her nose. As she suspected, as she had felt, it was going to rain- even storm.
“What are you?”
Kitten looked at him with a hint of amusement about her feline features. Did he not know there were other shifters? Letting out a feline chuckle, Kitten shifted, rolling onto her human back to look up at the sky, arms crossed behind her head.
"I'm the same." Kitten said with a grin, looking over at the large feline with a gentle smile. Just then the rain started, falling slow at first, then slowly progressing to a downpour. Kitten rested her back under a thick pine tree, sheltered from most of the rain, though she was still soaked from getting caught off guard. Her black tank top was soaked, along with her jeans. She wore no shoes, and her orange blonde hair clung to her face in small twinges.

He knew that he couldn’t pass this off as just imagining it, but it was still a shock to hear her speak again. He seemed to hang on her every word, finally able to hold her gaze. He felt his lips twitch in good humor, mimicking a playful grin of sorts. Ky wasn’t completely over the fact of what was happening, but he could at least wrap his head around it and accept it. At the sound of the thunder his ears pinned against his skull, flinching as the sharp sound assaulted his sensitive feline ears. Well now he knew why the humidity had lingered in the air, and now he was going to be stuck in the rain. Kyrian wasn’t particularly sensitive about rain or thunderstorms; he actually liked them, so guess it wasn’t all too bad.
He glanced up at the sky, and sure enough, there was everything involved in a thunder storm- dark clouds, high winds, foggy mist that seemed to shroud everything else as it made its way closer, oh and the stronger static that slung to the air. He turned back when she chuckled, a look of mild confusion shifting on his features as he watched her. He had only gotten used to the idea of his new communication skills, but strangely enough watching the golden tabby shift into a beautiful human. He took another step forward but paused paw in midair, once again unsure. Oh how he hated being uncertain or hesitant about anything, he was always the one to take charge, the first to try anything, always up for anything. And yet here he was, acting like a freaking 10 year old kid.
“I’m the same.” Ahh, so his mother had possibly left him in Shifter Central, not a bad thing really, all things considered. Kyrian stood there under the light drizzle, the water beading on his pale pelt before sliding down in streaks. He felt his playful nature rise up to the surface and he was nearly overcome with the urge to frolic in the rain. He brought a paw up and reached out as if he could paw at the rain. When the rain changed from light drizzling to full out pouring rain he tried to ‘catch’ it by clapping his paws together and jumping up on his back legs. He ended up standing, paws trying to clap directly overhead, but fell over backwards. He twisted himself enough so he fell on his side, a small laugh escaping, and he rolled back to his belly and sprung up, sufficiently soaked. He spread his legs and shook his pelt out of most of the excess water, sending it flying in all directions. He bounded over to Kitten and her tree, a broad smile on his features. He shifted as well, and replacing the White Liger was a 16 year old teen. His short dirty blond locks dripping and his sleeve-less red t-shirt hugging his lean yet still athletic frame. His black cargo shorts hadn’t escaped the water, so they too were drenched as well as his pair of old tennis shoes. His crystalline blue eyes were light and friendly as they darted from the sky, the tree, and back to Kitten.
“Are there more shifters out here in Shelpey? I’m kinda new here, you’re the first shifter I’ve ever met, what’s the deal here?” And again he had to stop himself from streaming out a line of questions in case he overwhelmed her or made a bigger fool of himself. He plopped himself down in a relaxed cross-legged sitting position. “I’m Kyrian.” He introduced, a flicker of innocence, no more like unknowing, crossed his gaze. Kitten was basically the only one he could connect to as a shifter, and right now she was the only one he could come to. He looked back up with another one of his infectious friendly smiles.

(OCC: Hope its ok if I jump in. If not, no big)
Dean loved the rain, it appealed to his avian nature. The way whisping thermals could turn to dead, static filled air. He sat crouched on one of the large boulders that scattered the reserve, the rain pelting him and his leather coat. He held out a hand, closed his eyes, and started to shift his hand slowly.
It felt as it always did, gooseflesh rippled across his entire body as he reached for the Red Tailed hawk inside him. Then he let his fingers extend into feathers as his bones shrank and hollowed out. But before it continued, he stopped and reversed it. Archer opened his eyes and looked at his scar-flecked hand. Normal and human, but he flexed it to make sure.
The thunder danced overhead, and something inside Dean reached out for it. The sky, no matter how dangerous, was were he belonged. He smiled saying in an odd cadence: "Take my love, take my land, take me were I can not stand. I don't care, I'm still free, you cant take the sky from me."
Dean vaulted off the stone, shifting completely, pumping his wings to stay aloft. There were no up-winds or thermals to speak of, and the cold rain was a challenge to fly through, but Dean loved it none the less. He danced around the saplings , bushes and trash cans with the lightning above. The thunder rolled, and Dean spun under a bench. The sky was his-
Until the fucking tree got in his way.
Upon the impact, Dean immeadiatly shifted back to human, shouting out, "Son of a BITCH! Were the hell did that come from!?" He shot a accusatory look at the oak, the rain pelting down in large drops. He held his hand to his head and checked for blood, or the shattered remains of his dignity. Whichever he could find, but probably more of the former The thunder and lightning pirouetted together, letting out a high pitched 'Smack' that echoed through the night clouds.
"Oh, shut up", Dean shot back at the mocking sky.

Kitten watched with an amused face as the large cat pranced around and played in the rain. He was like a big kitten! Well, a huge kitten, but that didn't matter. They were both pretty odd cats- A tiger with gold stripes and a Lion/Tiger mix with silver stripes and a tussled bit of mane. The he shook his thick fur and sent yet more water flying onto Kitten. "Hey, hey, cool the sprinklers, kitty! I'm soaked enough as it is over here, thanks." Kitten laughed, shaking her hair and sending a few droplets loose before brushing it out of her face with her hand.
Then the big brute of a cat came barreling toward her. She looked at him, a look that said: "What?", a shocked sort of look like a dear in headlights. It was unexpected when he stopped short of her, and shifted though. How old was he? He looked older than her, but boys were weird like that...
“Are there more shifters out here in Shelpey? I’m kinda new here, you’re the first shifter I’ve ever met, what’s the deal here?”
"Pffft. If that's the case, then you're just not looking hard enough. There's two gangs of shifters, not to mention idiots like Kyo and Scruffy who choose not to be in one. We're common and uncommon at the same time, tiger." Kitten chuckled, finding his questions amusing. Her mother had told her all about shifters and everything when she had her first shift, so she understood from a young age. Her mother didn't know she was going to be in the Thieves though, oh god no. Her mother would've killed her.
“I’m Kyrian.”
"My name's Kitten. You can call me whatever though, I don't really focus on names much." A slight chuckle came from the smaller girl, looking out into the pouring rain. "So Kyian, how old are you? I haven't seen you around Shelpey besides now, when did you get here?" Kitten asked, leaning back against the tree in a relaxed position, arms crossed behind her head. The position may have been awkward for others, since her bra was visible through the none existent sleeves on her black tank top, but Kitten wasn't shy or awkward- they were simply feelings she never got, no matter how weird the situation was to others.
"Son of a BITCH! Were the hell did that come from!?"
"Men are raining from the sky. It's every girl's dream. Pshh, not really. Hey tree boy, are you alright? Kitten chuckled and called to the guy who had fallen from the tree, not moving from her comfortable position under the tree.

“Hey, hey, cool the sprinklers, kitty! I’m soaked enough as it is over here, thanks.” He gave a Liger-like chuckle of amusement, but it sounded like a chuff, the end of his tail flicking here and there. He gave a final shake, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Pffft. If that's the case, then you're just not looking hard enough. There's two gangs of shifters, not to mention idiots like Kyo and Scruffy who choose not to be in one. We're common and uncommon at the same time, tiger." His brows pulled together adorably in thought to her words. He had no idea who Kyo or Scruffy were, let alone anything about these gangs, and gangs of shifters no less! He titled his head to the side, wringing out the end of his shirt. Well maybe this place would end up being good for him, so much he could learn. Maybe he could have a purpose, a real one. Even Kyrian didn’t know what he meant by that, he did have a purpose…right? He did, but things were changing, this was a new life. Sure he was the same Kyrian he was when he woke up, man this is difficult. Not that Ky was a brainless jock but he preferred to live in the moment, have fun and live life to the fullest.
"My name's Kitten. You can call me whatever though, I don't really focus on names much.- . "So Kyian, how old are you? I haven't seen you around Shelpey besides now, when did you get here?" “I’m 16 right now-“ He paused, watching on curiously as she moved into a more comfortable position, not to mention revealing. The corner of his lips pulled up in a crooked grin before he ran a hand through his still wet dirty blond hair. “And I wouldn’t think you have, seeing as this would be my first full day here, mom left me here last night.” He added in, not sure whether or not it would matter but saying it anyways.
“But what’s this about gangs of shifters, why?” No sooner had the inquiring words left his mouth came the new voice from overhead. He snapped his head in the direction of the guy, attention fully on him. He tensed, not sure how he should react to this situation. He relaxed though at the sound of Kitten’s harmless sarcasm. Maybe she had a problem with men, interesting tiger she was.
He rose to his feet and rushed over to the fallen man. “Are you okay? What were you doing in the sky? Are you a shifter too?” Yeah, Kyrian was just full of questions today. He extended his hand in an offer to help him up. “I’m Kyrian.” He introduced with a friendly half smile.

Dean hauled himself back onto his feet, dusting off his knees. He jumped with a (ahem- man-ly) "Gah!" upon hearing the voices of Kitten and Kyrain, hitting his head on a branch. "Jesus, really? Again?", he grumbled under his breath.
“Are you okay?"
"Heya. Dean.", Archer said distractedly, offering a hand.
"Men are raining from the sky. It's every girl's dream. Pshh, not really. Hey tree boy, are you alright?"
He shot a look up at the tree- Whoa. Now THAT'S different.
Instead of gawking or oggleing, he simply nodded to the soaked and scantally clad girl. "Miss." Dean evaluated himself good naturedly, tapping his head with his fist. "No permanent damage, but I'll keep an eye out for these things from now on." He rapped his knuckles on the large oak a few times. "Damn things will sneak up on a fella. Trust you two will learn from my concussion?"He said with a smirk and a wink to the two.
"What were you doing in the sky? Are you a shifter too?”
Dean's heart stopped. He suddenly grew very wary and his paranoia began to creep into his head. He glanced out of the corner of his eye to the girl in the tree, then back to the other. "What do you mean "Shifter"? , He scratched at his right wrist, where underneath his homemade leather arm band hid his Shifter tattoo.
