Well, for a certain male teenager, that meant sparkling apple cider. Alex meandered out of the bustling living room and slipped in to the open-bar kitchen. He made his way to the refrigerator, pausing a moment with his hand on the door to admire the "A+" that his younger sister had so proudly stuck up using a pink heart magnet. He smiled, reaching in to the fridge and pulling out two clanking bottles of cider, and helped the door close with his heel as he turned and set the bottles on the counter.
Alex pawed through a number of drawers before he found the bottle opener, after which he immediately set to work on the black caps. With a satisfying pop, the first cap came off, and he took his time watching the sparkling drink fizz up the bottle's neck before settling back down. He proceeded to do the same with the second, then slid the open bottles across the counter to the other side, where they could be more easily accessed by the living room.
After setting out the cups, he finally returned to the living room. He scooted his way past the crowd of guests and came up to the bar from the living room side, pouring himself a glass of the just-opened sparkling cider. He contemplated letting the rest of the party know that there were now two new cider bottles added the the already-present sodas on the counter, but he decided against it. Content with his accomplishments, Alex left the bar counter and scavenged around the room, searching for a place that he could sit down. Eyes alighting on the recliner that sat next to the room's one of two sofas, the teenager took a careful sip of his cider. Target locked, Alex moved to claim the chair.

The teenaged male was about to fall in the recliner when another person slipped right by and stole the seat before he could take it. Stunned, Alex looked down at Calea, who was smirking up at his haughtily. The drink in his hand was raised contemplatively to his mouth and Alex lightly sipped at the sparkling cider, green eyes never once leaving Caela's triumphant face.
"Well, age before beauty, Caela," he scoffed, rolling his eyes and gesturing with his free hand to the girl now occupying his seat. "You go right ahead and take my chair. I'll be a gentleman and let you have it,"
He watched the hawk-shifter's mind work as she came up with a witty remark to say to him. Finally, with an exclamation, she shared her newest discovery with him.
"Congratulations, Alex, you aren't stupid at school. But you're still stupid in school."
He gawked at her a moment before making an over-exaggeratedly animated reply. "I don't even know what you mean by that! Are you saying that I'm stupid while IN the school building, but not while I'm AT it...? How does that even WORK?" He blinked, pose still overdramatic, before straightening upright and shaking his hair back out of his eyes. "Either way, you've successfully hurt my feelings. And if you upset me while at my house, I shall summon my bodyguards to come and have you forcefully removed. Then you will be thrown out the door and have to stare forlornly through the window at the rest of the party, feeling miserable about your predicament. And you'll come to realize that you were wrong, and feel ever so ashamed, and you will come begging to me to accept your apology and forgive you and allow you back inside. And I will think about it long and hard, while you hang on to every look I cast in your general direction as if your life depended on it. Which, by the way, it definitely does. And after a long moment in which I decide your face, I will find the charity in myself to show you kindness, and you will once more be accepted back in to the social group of merrymaking which is happening here and be forever in my debt." He smiled politely.

Amber stood awkwardly at the door, staring at the delicate wood and its wood-like design. "Well, are you going to knock yet? I'm not sure if that's me, but I'm sure I can smell some cider or something..." Amber slouched down and exasperatedly raised an eyebrow at her company. It was as if she could practically see the drool dripping out of his mouth. Oh how nice, and what a wonderful image. "Well I'm sorry Mr. I-can't-wait-to-stuff-my-empty-stomach-with-cider-and-other-unhealthy--foods. I'm just-" She was quickly cut off, "Taking my sweet time by staring at the utmost beautiful design on this simply amazing door."
She playfully glared at the other teen, "Fine. Fine, be that way. I'll just walk in by myself and let you be kicked out because you won't know anyone there." Damien raised his eyebrow, "Uh-uh. You know I was just joking, I didn't really mean th-" Amber gave up and simply stepped in, she was invited after all, and she was sure it had already started anyway. She had simply been a little late picking up the little freak next to her. He wasn't a Thief, but he had spent enough time around them to be able to at least join a party. "I know I know, come on now."
It was nice to say the least, but she wasn't so interested in any of it. She was a girl on a mission, nothing was stopping her. Damien stopped to glance around at the dull lights, intricate pictures, and fine wood. Who could blame him? The only house he had actually spent time in was Amber's... who had rolled her eyes and snatched his wrist. "Oh, come on." There was time to look later. See, that's the thing he liked about her, she didn't care about where he lived, or how he lived, or who with. It was annoying enough when people took pity on him, and as a friend Amber certainly didn't do that... at least all the time. Just a friend.
He was pulled by the cat shifter though the entry way and into the living room, bustling with busy people. Damien's cloudy blue eyes blinked blankly, as if he were blind. So... many people. He could unfortunately say he almost felt slightly claustrophobic, practically living his whole life in the open areas outdoors. Seeing his blank face, Amber inwardly sighed and pulled him forward so he was in front of her. "There," She said as she pushed and pointed out the kitchen for him, "Go get some cider now. I'll be trying to find Alex, and then... you just find me when you get your drink."
With that, Amber hustled off in search of Alex. It was his party and house after all, plus she wanted to know who would be here. Maybe other people she would know. Trinnel? Caela? Chase? DJ? Maybe someone Damien would know like Shanks or Kitten? It could use some company. Sighing, she shuffled her way through the bodies moving along to the sound of music. Surely not all of these people were shifters... finally, she cast her eyes upon Alex.
His back was to her, and it seemed he was holding something, along with talking to someone on the chair. "--hurt my feelings. And if you upset me while at my house, I shall summon my bodyguards to come and have you forcefully removed. Then you will be thrown out the door and have to stare forlornly through the window at the rest of the party, feeling miserable about your predicament. And you'll come to realize that you were wrong, and..."
There was a pause as he trailed off, an awkward silence. If Damien wasn't off getting drinks, he surely would've leaned down and made some comment, probably something about a gay baby being born. Oh how well she knew him. Suddenly, whoever was sitting there--to whom Amber found to be a girl, began laughing, nearly in hysterics. "I'm sorry, I think I lost concentration, it was just so boring." Her comment was lost between laughter. Caela. Of course.
Amber gave a wiry smile and shook her head in exasperation, it was like her joining all over again. "If you kicked me out of this party I would simply go and find another way back in. Failing that, I'd go and find something else to do. But you wouldn't really throw me out, because you'd hate to be the fun killer at your own party, right?" Amber shuffled to the side to better see Caela and made herself known, "I agree, but I'm sure there's more to the party than just talking and joking." However it was most of it... She blinked at the only male--yet again, in the conversation, "I'm sure I heard something about games."

Music was just barely audible over the low rumble of guests talking, and even then, the snatches of melody were hard to decipher. The speakers seemed to be playing some upbeat, fast-paced song that was easy to dance to - in fact, several teens really were dancing to it.. Random friends of Alex littered the living room area, talking about casual, meaningless things, like movies or bands or the latest pop culture fads. A few people hung around the snacks, sipping at bubbly cider whilst chewing on cheese puffs. Most everyone was having a grand time.
'Most' not including Danny, of course.
The raven-haired shifter lurked awkwardly in a corner, watching the festivities with a nervous eye and a neutral smile. He wasn't quite sure why he was here; he didn't like crowds, and he barely knew anyone there. He was isolated in his little safety zone, unable to actually enjoy the party. He was starting to contemplate leaving early - when suddenly, a group caught his gaze.
Not far from the corner o' safety stood Amber, chatting idly with an unknown girl sprawled out in a chair. Alex, the host of the party, was also standing adjacent to the girls, talking animatedly. Judging by the way they were acting, the three seemed to be having a good time. Danny's smile grew warmer and more natural, and he started to consider going over there and joining in.
I probably shouldn't, the teen began to muse. The conversation would be totally awkward. Amber's the only real friend I have over there. I have no clue who chair-girl is, and I barely know Alex. A thought popped up, saying that he must have known the brunette well enough to get invited, but he mentally brushed it aside.
"Oh to hell with it," muttered Danny, taking a step out of the secluded little corner. Cutting through the small crowd, he made his way over to the gathering.

Alex's voice was on the rise as he felt the mock-tension between Caela and himself mount. Politely simmering, the teenager sipped at his cider, then ran his middle finger around the rim of the glass as he contemplated how to respond to his female arch nemesis. Such a cocky, witty, arrogant rival she was. She never seemed to have a shortage of insults to lay on him, and never seemed to hesitate when given the opportunity. She certainly didn't approach their bickering from a shallow girl's point of view. No- she assaulted him with a full arsenal of weapons.
The fox-shifter opened his mouth to retort, but was cut off abruptly when a third person intervened. He looked up, startled, and met Amber's eyes just as she mentioned hearing about games.
"Amber! Thank goodness you came and saved me from this savage that somehow got in to my house," The host threw his arms wide and have his currently off-duty Second In Command a brief hug before stepping back and smiling half-apologetically to Caela. "Well, games DO beat sitting...or in my case, standing, around and quarreling. Maybe we can get enough people together and see what they all want to do?"
He shrugged and stepped away from the group for a moment, craning his neck to scan around the room for anyone that might want to join in. Most of the people there were caught up in their own conversations, and some of the people who weren't occupied he knew were some of the ones that had to leave early. Alex's green eyes were about to return to the conversing group when he noticed a solitary figure making its way towards them. As he approached, Alex recognized Danny, and waved a hand in his direction.
"RECRUITMENT, RECRUITMENT!" He shouted, making sure that his mouth was close enough to Caela's ear to get some sort of wince from her.

Trinell hummed happily to herself as she jogged along the suburban sidewalk, on her way to a party oh Alexs' that she'd heard about from some of her friends. She'd heard Amber talking about it, even! She figured Alex wouldn't mind too much if she decided to pop in and say hello, right? She was one of his Thieves, after all. A very loyal one at that.
And so, with excited thoughts dancing around her brain, she picked up er speed a bit only to stop and cock her head to the side as she saw a guy about her age walking away from Alex's house. He glanced back occasionally, as if he wished he could go in.
Smiling to herself, she jogged closer to him and said, "Yo! How's it going?" The guy jerked his head up instantly, his sky blue eyes wide with surprise. He quickly gained control of himself, though, and offered her a polite smile.
"Hello," he replied, his country accent making Trinell blink in surprise for a moment. "It's all good. You?" He added. Trinell grinned.
"I'm great! By the way, I'm Trinell." She said, remembering her manners and introducing herself. "And I'm going to that party over there. Do you wanna go with me?" At her odd request, the guy blinked and brushed some of his unusually colored hair out of his face.
"Corbeau. Umm, well..." Corbeau didn't know how to respond. He wanted to go but at the same time he didn't know anyone there and he didn't want to just sit in a corner all by himself. "I don't really know anyone there, or I would go." He said after a moment. Trinell scoffed, waving her hand dismissively.
"Nonsense! You know who I am now, right?" She smirked. "I know a lot of people there; I'll introduce you around, help you make some friends." Chuckling, she gave him a bright smile and hooked her arm in his as she began to jog over to Alex's house. "And if all else fails, you'll at least know me! I'll be your friend, don't worry."
"W-wait! Trinell!" Cried Corbeau, shocked at the strength the lean girl had. What he didn't know was that she was forcing him along by using his own body against him and hardly using any of her strength.
She shot him a grin over her shoulder and kept dragging him along, all the way up to the front door where she paused, wondering if she should just walk in or knock first. She decided to be polite and knocked loudly, a bright smile on her face as she waited for the door to be opened.
"By the way, Corbeau?" Corbeau glanced at her, calmly raising one of his fine white brows. "Hmm?" Trinell smirked. "Don't get freaked out by how many people I know. I get around." She winked, laughing just as the door was pulled open. She turned to greet whoever had opened it.

Moving through the small gathering of people quickly, Danny was merely a few feet away when Alex suddenly shouted, "RECRUITMENT! RECRUITMENT!" Though the raven-haired teen was unaffected - in fact, the shout was mostly drowned out by the din of the other party-goers - the seated girl next to Alex visibly winced. She turned and gave the party's host an extraordinarily nasty glare, whilst saying something that Danny couldn't quite make out. Regardless, he chuckled quietly; it looked as though she was rather angry. He felt a little mean for finding it funny, but past that, he didn't care.
"Might I ask what you're recruiting for?" asked the raven-shifter when he finally reached the trio of friends. His tone was amused, though his expression betrayed no real emotion. It was neutral and polite, defined by his unreadable brown eyes and trademark smile. Even so, he seemed relaxed; his posture was lazy and casual, and he even gave Amber a slightly warmer grin when they made eye contact. "Because I'd like to know what we're doing before I sign up for it." The taller teen vaguely remembered hearing something about games of some sort, but he couldn't really recall the details.
((Oh god it's so shoooort. ;A; I'm sorry.))

~ Alexx
Tall, slender girl pulled at her mini skirt. It kept hitching up over her butt, giving anyone short enough a nice view. It was as tight as tight could go as well. Well, no one said fashion was comfortable. With another impatient tug on her blue jean skirt, Alexx stopped in front of a house. Apparently others were already here, she could see a bit of a crowd through the front window. The girl smoothed her shirt over her mid-drift, only for the tight blue fabric to pop back up, stopping right beneath her bust. With a wan smile, Alexx laid one suave hand on her slightly muscular stomach. All those hours of working out had paid off. She had the perfect body now.
With a satisfied nod, and another pull at her skirt, Alexx strode up the driveway and politely knocked on the door before opening it herself. After all, it was a party. The girl took a moment to survey the room full of people she didn't know. Luck for him, she had missed seeing Damien - but she noticed Alex. Smiling sensuously, Alexx made her way over to the boy. Gazing up at him, she slowly wrapped her arms around his neck, and winked. "Hey there handsome." came the lascivious voice.
Watch out all, the life of the party has arrived.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [atrb=background,http://i48.tinypic.com/ips09s.jpg] Amber gave a warm smile at Alex's startled games, but as he spoke his eyes lit up, "Amber! Thank goodness you came and saved me from this savage that somehow got into my house." The teen then opened his arms and gathered her in a hug to which Amber hesitantly gave back before stepping back. "Well it's nice seeing you too," she light heartedly commented. It wasn't that it was awkward... well, yes a tad. Amber may have known Alex well as a Thief, but as just another guy talking about just another normal thing? There wasn't much to it. Caela dryly smiled and commented, “Oh admit it, you would miss this savage if I wasn't here. You like the abuse really.”
Smiling to Caela he inquired, “Well, games do beat sitting... or in my case, standing around and quarreling. Maybe we can get enough people together and see what they all want to do?” He shrugged and stepped away to look around. Caela nodded and blatantly mused, “Sounds like a plan.” Amber nodded with a roll of her golden eyes and to Caela sarcastically stated, “Oh yeah, he's definitely an adrenaline junkie...” Sighing, “Well it is a party, it'll start soon enough.” Alex, Alex, never that patient.
Amber turned to back to Caela, a wave of her hand catching her eye, “By the way, excuse my rudeness. G'day Amber.” Amber smiled and chuckled at the sudden change of attitude,”Hey to you to. Hopefully nothing's too boring yet.” It was easy enough to get on Caela's good side, even for a hothead. Even so, Alex was a hothead sometimes too... no wonder they hit it off so well the first time. “RECRUITMENT, RECRUITMENT!” Amber jumped back and blinked, head craned back. It was surprising.
Wince.
A winded breath escaped Damien as he lazily drank up a glass of cider, the cool freshness of the liquid smoothly sliding down his throat. “Aahhh, that's it.” He quietly, yet contently, murmured to himself—impossible to be overheard in the party environment. He took his sweet time glancing around taking in all the delicate details, after all, it was one of the only homes he could remember being in. However, before far into his search, the doorbell rang. No one seemed to notice it though over all the ruckus in the room.
Last time he saw, Amber had been moving toward the host and another, surely in conversation, they might have not heard it. Sighing to himself Damien began slowly weaving his way through the crowd of guests, his hand gripped firmly around his cider. No way was he losing this now, he was too lazy to go get another drink. If not, he could get someone else he knew to get it too. Finally as he made it, Damien pulled open the door, a chuckle making its way to his ears. Most likely two people.
Inwardly sighing, Damien blinked at the two before him. Trinell? Wait... and Corbeau? Trinell he might have guessed, only meeting her once or twice, though they never really talked much, that being usually with Amber around and during business. Amber was around, but this wasn't business. However, he didn't know Corbeau was in the Thieves guild, or was he? Maybe he doesn't know, maybe he came to be invited. That might be why Trinell was with him... He quietly began, a hesitant greeting pulling out of his mouth. “... hey.” Damn his shyness without Amber. Where was she anyway, and what was she doing?
“Sweet Jesus!” The teen in the chair exclaimed just as Amber growled, “What was that for.” She went on, “You don't have to act like a foghorn you know?” Amber swiftly nodded in agreement. Caela sorely rubbed her ear, Amber cupped her hands around her chin, head ringing in her ears. Even if it was meant for Caela, which she was sure it was, she was still fairly close to him... “I know you have a big mouth, but I figured you wouldn't let it flap so much, or so loudly.” Amber suddenly grinned, but said nothing, dirty thoughts to herself.
However, before she even could say something if she wanted to a quiet, yet amused voice cut in, “Might I ask what you're recruiting for?” Amber's attention was quickly snatched away as she snapped her head toward the voice. She'd heard that voice before. Danny. His expression was more grim that she remembered, last time she had seen him he had at least a small smile on his face, or a smirk. His intense brown eyes searched the trio, maybe nervous? However, his body language showed differently—collective and calm, casual. “Hey Danny.”
When she caught eyes with him, a light smile crossed his face to which she whole-heartedly grinned back to with slight encouragement. That was more like it. “Because I'd like to know what we're doing before I sign up for it.” Amber simply replied, though the warmth still held in her gentle voice, “Party games.” Unfortunately before anyone could answer, a low, smothering voice cut in, “Hey there handsome.” Having been distracted, Amber had no idea what was going on. Turning around she spotted a girl, well... yeah, girl, hanging onto Alex's neck.
A coy smile slipped across her face as she winked up at Alex. She wore a blue jean mini-skirt, possibly as mini as mini could get, and a tight blue shirt fitted across her chest. Slut anyone? Simply at the thought, Amber's mouth twitched, but she didn't voice her thoughts. Amber blinked uncertainly, unsure of what to do in this situation. Well wouldn't it really suck for Alex if this happened in a battle? Poor boy... probably lose his life. Well, not really... She hesitantly began, politeness weaving through her words, “Excuse me, but who are you?” Curiosity filled her voice, though also slightly reproachful. Who was she? Amber knew she wasn't in the Thieves... though somehow she seemed to know Alex.
c o u n t! one-zero-two-one m u s e! six/ten h e l l o! Alex, Caela, Danny, Alexx, Trinell, Corbeau n o t e p a d! I haven't made Damien's posting header, so Amber's will have to do... I added the last three sentences just to hit 1000 words.

Trinell blinked as she recognized Damien, having met him a few times. She felt Corbeau twitch behind her, suddenly realizing that she was still holding his hand. She shrugged mentally; whatever.
"...hey." Said Damien softly, Trinell giving him a friendly grin in return.
"Hey! How's it going, Damien right? It's been a while since I last saw you." She replied, walking into the house and pulling a silent Corbeau along with her.
There were a lot of people in the house. More than Trinell was used to seeing in one place unless it was summer at the beach. That place got crowded in the summer. She saw a lot of people, many she had met once or twice and a lot that she'd never met before. She felt herself smile as she thought about how many people she could meet at a party.
Being a wolf, she loved to know a lot of people and have a ton of friends. It was in her nature to like being surrounded by a lot of people, especially nice, happy people.
Turning her attention back to Damien, Trinell pulled Corbeau up beside her and shamelessly said, "By the way, I don't know if you know him but this is Corbeau. I don't really know him, just met him outside, but he has no one to hang out with yet. I told him I'd be his friend if no one else wanted to hang out with him for whatever reason." She smiled brightly, Corbeau shooting a glare at her silently before sighing and holding his hand out to Damien.
"Hello, Damien." He quietly muttered, not really feeling all that bold at the moment. How did Trinell do it? She was almost obnoxious with how eagerly she talked to people. Even a complete stranger! She had absolutely no problem talking to him like a close friend and even dragging him along with her to a party that he hardly knew anyone there. Not that he really minded all that much anyways. He'd wanted to go but was too shy, basically.
Which was unusual, if he thought about it. He wasn't really that shy normally so why did it matter now?
