A slender figure crept unseen through the night, with fast steps perfectly in time. Silent paws treaded on unheard ground. She could have been nonexistent for all the attention she called to herself.
Hopping through the unhinged backdoor of the old bar, Aleu's silent cat form walked cautiously through the building. Though none of her extremely sharp senses told her anything was near, a person couldn't be too careful. A person or....animal.
One green eye and one blue took in the room. She could almost see it in its glory days, but now this was all that remained. To her it contained a kind of homey presence. Safe and sheltered from the world, a little escape, at least for now.
Seeing that the coast was clear, the sleek cat figure morphed into that of a girl with the same attributes strangely visible. Her small yet curvy form cast a dim shadow on the opposite wall. Long black hair formed a sort of blanket around her, which fluttered as she walked up to the bar and set herself on a stool.
The same green and blue eyes blinked relaxedly, outlined in heavy black and purple. Black nails took out a pack of cigarettes and placed it quickly between dark red lips. The sharp flame flickered a momentary spark of light, and was gone, with smoke as its only remains. She sat smoking, a small porcelain figure in the night, alone and invisible among the black.

Rohjyx blinked awake as he heard almost silent footseps slip past him, headed for the bar he was currently sleeping behind. Flicking the tip of his tail curiously, he rose silently to his paws and glanced through a hole in the wall of the bar, his cold ice blue eyes warming slightly as he saw one of his Assassins Shift and walk up to the bar. She seated herself just before him.
He scowled slightly, however, as he heard the hiss of a lighter and picked up on the scent of nicotene. He hated cigarettes. They smelt horrid, tasted worse, and only harmed the body. He hated them.
Stepping back, away from the hole, he rose up on his hind legs and dropped his massive front paws on the bar while saying, "What'll you have?" His ice eyes twinkled with amusement and a catish smirk revealed his pearly white fangs.
As is to be expected of panthers, he smoothly pulled himself up onto the bar only to leap down onto the floor and Shift in mid-jump, landing on his feet with a muffled thump. Turning, he smirked at his Assassin and took a seat near her and leaned back against the bar, his long legs stretched out before him.

If Aleu had still been in her cat form, she probably would have heard the panther before she saw him. But slipping into her human form and taking on a mood of relaxation, she didn't. As she stared lazily at the smoke swirling in the dark air, a figure in front of her caught her eye.
Though Aleu never jumped or appeared startled, that didn't mean she wasn't caught by surprise. She watched as the massive black figure set heavy paws on the bar and jokingly took her order. He slinked over it and landed on the ground, in human form. This of course, she expected. After all, panthers weren't really the type of creature to spring out of nowhere and start talking to you.
As the human seated himself on the stool next to her, she could instantly see in his ice blue eyes that he meant no harm.
"Rum and coke," she answered, a sly smile on her face, definitely catlike. "And some company of what I'm guessing is a fellow assassin."

Rohjyx smirked with pride as his Assassin didn't even flinch at his appearance, calmly staying in her seat. She gave him a sly smirk saying, "Rum and coke." Then she said, "And some company of what I'm guessing is a fellow Assassin."
Smirking, he got to his feet and walked back behind the bar. Without even looking, he found the coke and rum and prepared her drink, all the while saying, "Ah, not just any Assassin, my dear. The Leader of the Assassin's." Placing the drink beside her, he walked back around the bar with a bottle of water in his hand and sat back down in his original seat. "I'm Rohjyx," He introduced himself. "And I don't believe we've met yet. You are?"

Aleu watched with interested eyes as her new companion got to his feet and started making her drink. As he busied himself, she perked up as he introduced himself as the leader of the assassins and asked for her name.
She smiled at the drink in front of her.
"Such service," she said, flashing her catlike smile again in thanks. her eyes took in the bottle of water in his hand and determined he must not be much of a drinker.
"Pleased to meet you, Love. My name is Aleu. I didn't expect to find the leader of our guild here. It's a nice surprise."
She slowly took the glass in her hand and raised it to her painted maroon lips. The drink found its way down her throat, lighting a small fire within her.
She fixed Rohjyx with her deep mismatched eyes. "Do I owe you anything, bartender?"

"No cost, dear." Replied Rohjyx with a smile, his ice eyes taking in the dim bar around them as she spoke again. Aleu. That was her name. 'And an odd one it is,' He thought quietly, storing the name away with all of the other Assassins. 'It is quite fitting for her. She is, after all, quite the odd little girl.' He added.
"The pleasure is all mine, dear." He said in reply to her comment. "Ah, yes. A Leader should sleep in his own bed, correct?" He asked with a chuckle. He had been questioned about it before, by other Assassins. "Well, I like the atmosphere of this old bar. It's very calming, and even more peaceful. I sleep like an infant here." He explained, motioning around the bar with one arm as he spoke. He let the limb drop back down after a moment and leaned back against the bar, relaxed.
He watched her swallow a bit of her drink then settle her mis-colored stare on him, her drink in hand.
"What about you, dear? What brings you to this safe haven for us Assassins?" He asked pleasantly, matching her stare fearlessly. It was impossible for him to do otherwise. It had become a habit of his long ago that when someone stared at him he would return it calmly and judge by how long they could continue to stare at him how bold they were.
Majority looked away almost instantly, much to his disgust and displeasure.

"Ah well, I owe you then," she said, smiling. He seemed to be studying her, those intense blue eyes staring into her own mismatched ones. In a way, it made her happy. After all, the leader of her little family was right in front of her, and seemed somewhat interested.
"Well that makes sense. I agree with you. I've been here only once before, and it's a quiet escape from the hectic world outside. No one to bother you. I admit, trouble seems to follow me wherever I go." She smiled, warmth in her eyes. "It just always has. The only place I can find peace is in places like this, and in art. And sometimes, my apartment just gets bland. I like a change of scene every now and then, at least for an hour or two. It keeps my mind level."
She crushed the cigarette in an ashtray, the filter starting to burn, and their eyes parted, but only for a second.
"You know, Love," she said, playfulness in her eyes. "Staring isn't polite."
Staring never unnerved her, but she didn't like it either. However, Rohjyx's eyes were different. Like he understood. They were intense, but kind. Though she guessed they did not hold kindness for many people.

Rohjyx smirked with amusement as Aleu put out her cigarette only to turn and fix him with a playful stare, saying, "You know, Love, it's not polite to stare."
He chuckled for a moment, amused and pleased by her somewhat fiesty attitude. He liked healthy attitudes in his Assassins. "The same could go for you, Dear." He smirked, winking. He didn't look away, easily keeping his eyes locked on Aleu's. They had a taunting, enigmatic look to them, as if she knew something she wasn't supposed to know...
His smirk softened into a smile and he nodded in understanding. "Life is that way, isn't it?" He asked quietly, letting his eyes wander around the bar for a moment before returning to Aleu's. "Like a whirlwind, I'd say. I pity the fools who allow themselves to be swept away by it." He said, fiercely at the end.
He hated people who merely let the wind carry them through life, not trying to make anything of theirselves. He hated ambitionless people. He firmly believed in taking oneself as high up the ladder as you could go in your lifetime, rather than just settling for some office job filing papers. That was no way to live.
Simply wasting away... He couldn't do it. He had to have some goal, some level of power to reach. He refused to get it through dirty means, though. He preferred to rise through the ranks truthfully, just to make those who had risen through lies peeved. It made his day, really.
Shaking his head, and freeing himself from his thoughts in the process, he returned his attention to Aleu and asked, "Did Roscoe enlist you? Or did another Assassin recruit you?" He paused for a moment, then added, "Because no one told me about you."

His wink only further made her curiosity grow. Aleu had never really met anyone quite like him before, or connected so well. Perhaps it was because they were joined by the same fate and guild. It would take time to truly find out though.
"Ah well. Like I said, trouble maker, can't help but stare." She stirred her now-empty glass with a long black nail. "Sometimes you can't help but be caught up in it though. You lose your head every now and then. The hardest part is realizing it, and by that time, you're turned completely upside down."
"To be honest, no one enlisted me. It's just something I fell into. I haven't met any other assassins either. When you're with your fellow guild members relaxing in a dark corner or a bar such as this, who notices a quiet black cat in the corner?"
She smiled, and remembered the conversation when she had first learned that such a group existed.
"No one told you about me because no one knows about me. Just you. I'm a kind of loner you can say. I'm good at my job. No one notices me."

Rohjyx almost laughed, highly pleased with his new Assasin. She would be a wonderful addition to the Guild, no doubt about it. "That's a great ability, being unnoticed." He said, grinning wide.
A good scout was always great, and now he had another. Roscoe was a very good scout and from what Rohjyx could tell, so was Aleu. 'I'll have to introduce them sometime soon,' He thought calmly, staring at Aleu for a moment. "I'm going to have to introduce you to my Second at some point. I think you two would get along fairly well," He said, smirking.
