"So. If your slope is x to the 3/4 power and the coordinate (5,2) is on the graph, at which point is the y-intercept?"
Danny's chocolate eyes lifted from the sheet of paper that he held in his hands and watched Alex, perched on the end of the couch. The brunette blinked absently at Danny.
"The y-intercept, Alex. Where's the y-intercept?"
"On the y-axis. I'unno. It's too late for this."
Danny let out a quiet laugh and placed the paper down carefully on the coffee table atop a stack of books and hastily-scribbled notes. Turning to face his friend, he smirked. "You're going to fail if you don't study for the test tomorrow," he chastised. Alex shrugged, flopping over the arm of the couch and landing on the soft cushions.
"It's just one test. And maybe my sub-conscience has been absorbing all this info or something, and I'll know it tomorrow when I wake up. At least you know the stuff, right? I can study during lunch and ask you for help then. But I'm too tired right now."
OOC|| AHAHAHA so short.

Shaking his head, Danny gave another small chuckle, accompanied by an amused look towards the other boy. "It may just be one test, Alex, but they're ALL 'just one test.' This could come back to haunt you." Still, he didn't outright disagree with Alex's sentiments on the time; in fact, judging by the sudden yawn that he barely managed to stifle, he thoroughly agreed. Standing up to stretch his unused limbs, the raven haired teen bit back another yawn.
"Alright, so maybe it is a little late," he mumbled, plopping back down on the couch in a relaxed, sleep-deprived heap. "But I'm serious about studying the material. We are picking it back up again first thing in the morning." Biting back another yawn, Danny managed to fix his friend with a pointed stare. "For now, sleep might not be such a bad idea." With that, he pulled the band from his hair, unleashing his ponytail, and began to struggle out of the confines of his shirt.
Once free of the restrictive clothing, Danny threw himself onto the other couch and curled up as tightly as he could. "Good night, Alex," he muttered sleepily, dark hair now spilling onto the cushion beneath him. For once, the ever-present Cheshire grin faded into just the vaguest hint of a smile, and his golden-brown eyes closed softly. He actually looked serene.

[scrolly:h(333),w(262),sy] "I'm sure it'll come back to haunt me. I'm just trying to ignore that fact." Alex declared with an exhausted sigh, thinking about his already-low grade in math. He didn't want to admit it, but he really did need to pick up the slack in that class.
"Alright, so maybe it is a little late," Danny admitted, and as if on cue, Alex yawned. "But I'm serious about studying the material. We are picking it back up again first thing in the morning. For now, sleep might not be such a bad idea."
"Sounds good to me," Alex agreed, stretching his arms above his head for a moment before hopping up from the couch. "I'm just going to-" he paused as Danny stripped off his shirt and settled himself down on the couch. "-go change." In a gesture of decency, Alex left the room and grabbed his undershirt on the way to the bathroom where he quickly washed his face and changed clothes. Feeling his body growing tired, he made his way back to the living room where Danny was already curled up on the couch, seemingly asleep. Alex fixed himself a place to sleep on the other couch, then leaned over towards the table and clicked off the lamp. In the sudden darkness, he settled on the cushions and closed his eyes. From the other couch, Danny muttered a quiet goodnight.
"You too," he replied, before drifting off to sleep. [/scrolly] |

The sky was a crisp, saturated blue, filled with lazy white clouds that seemed impossibly fluffy and inexplicably never blocked out the sun. The grass was just as vivid as the sky, to the point it was an unrealistic Technicolor green, and was surprisingly soft for what it was. Behind the hill in the clearing lay a tall, sturdy forest of trees, ever so slightly blurred so that it was difficult to make a distinction between them. The atmosphere carried a sort of pervading strangeness, almost ethereal, even in such a normal setting as a small hill in the middle of a field.
And on that small hill lay two teenaged shifters, settled in a heap of out-of-place but very colorful pillows.
On a particularly pretty pastel pillow, Alex was curled up comfortably, sleeping the day away soundly. A companion looked on, occasionally brushing a lock of hair away from the brunette's face that would always seem to fall down again. The companion wore a beautiful white vest, with long dark sleeves underneath it, which matched his raven hair quite well. His gold eyes focused on the sleeping teen with tenderness, and a small, content smile quirked his lips. Strangely, clasped around his neck was a cold iron collar, though it didn't seem to bother him.
"Master..." said Danny softly, now shaking Alex gently. Shifting his position to get closer to the other teen - and dislodging a pillow or two in the process - the taller boy frowned. "Master, it's time to wake up." His voice was still gentle, though it seemed to carry a hint of worry. He shook Alex's shoulder again, softly, and tried whispering in his ear. "Master, please wake up."

[scrolly:h(333),w(262),sy] Things slipped in and out of Alex's awareness, lightly brushing his senses before flitting away again, soft as feathers. Muted sounds floated to his ears, and he sleepily ignored them, preferring to remain in his warm sleep. He shifted a bit on the fluffy cloud-like surface that he was lying upon, burying his face into its soft fabric.
Vaguely, he was aware of a persistent sound just above his head, and his senses flowed together to bring him to awareness. Opening one eye, he peered lazily upwards towards a figure leaning over him, silhouetted against the saturated sky. Alex squinted and blinked to adjust to the brightness as the voice finally formed in his ears.
"Master, please wake up." Danny was whispering with a hint of worry. Alex blinked again and sat up against the assortment of rainbow-colored pillows, rubbing his eyes with the back of one palm.
"...Danny?" He questioned as his surroundings came into focus. He turned an inquiring gaze to the young man who was sitting at his side. Alex's green eyes took in Danny's outfit -everything from the vest to the collar- with a look of confusion and worry. "Why are you dressed like that? And who's this 'Master' person you're talking about?" [/scrolly] |

As soon as Alex began to stir, Danny let out a cry of happiness. "Master's waking up!" he said joyously, all traces of worry gone from his voice. The brunette on the pillows turned over, blinking blearily up at him, causing Danny to chuckle kindheartedly. The raven haired teen pulled away from Alex, only to plop down beside him on a soft mattress of pillows. He propped his chin up on one of his hands, turning back to smile at his now conscious 'master.'
"...Danny?" was the first thing out of Alex's mouth, causing the collared male to give him a blank, smile-less look of confusion. However, Alex soon continued, bringing him back to rapt attention: "Why are you dressed like that?" Alex inquired, giving his vest and collar a strange look. "And who's this 'Master' person you're talking about?"
Danny merely laughed again, dropping his arm so he could scoot closer to his companion. "I just am," he practically purred, smile uncharacteristically happy and carefree. He was now laying half way to perpendicular to the brunette's sitting form, and his legs were bent up at the knee as a chattering girl on her bed's legs would be. "And YOU'RE my master, of course!" He let out another happy laugh, then laid his head on Alex's lap. "You're my wonderful master." He practically sighed the last part, voice filled with bliss.

[scrolly:h(333),w(262),sy] "I just am," was Danny's only response to the inquiry about his clothing. Alex gave it a once-over again, hesitating as his eyes lighted on the iron collar. Wasn't that heavy, or uncomfortable in the least? Surely Danny wasn't wearing it because he wanted to. What kind of creep would put a collar on a person and have him call them master?
The teen's face paled as Danny answered that silent question for him. "And YOU'RE my master, of course!" He chirped enthusiastically, making Alex feel almost sick to his stomach.
"Me?" He demanded weakly, wondering what kind of screwed up, twisted mind he might have. Come to think of it, since when DID Danny call him master? Before he could think too hard about it, Danny contentedly lay his head down on Alex's lap, startling the brunette out of thought. "You're my wonderful master." Danny sighed, a light smile gracing his lips. Alex, startled as he was, felt compelled to pat the raven-haired teen. His fingers drew away quickly, unsure of how Danny might react, and instead Alex focused his attention on the collar.
"Doesn't it hurt to wear something this big and heavy around your neck?" He asked, brushing the cold metal with the back of his hand.

Danny scooted a little closer to Alex, thinking about the weak question that he heard Alex utter. The simple "me?" held so much horror in it, it was almost as though the brunette was disgusted that he was Danny's master...no, that couldn't be it. That was impossible. Mind drifting back into happy obliviousness, the raven haired teen could have sworn that he felt fingers hover just above his head, then pull away suddenly. Sullenly opening his eyes at half-mast, Danny felt the urge to turn and give the shorter male a puzzled look, asking him why he didn't pat him on the head.
Instead, the hand that had ghosted over his hair moments before now brushed against the iron circle clasped around his neck. "Doesn't it hurt to wear something this big and heavy around your neck?" inquired Alex, the back of his hand still lightly touching the strangely warm metal.
Danny turned to face Alex, offering a reassuring, sincere smile. "Not as long as Master's here," he crooned, bringing his hands up to gently touch Alex's wrist. Only the tips of his fingers made contact with the other boy's sleeve. "I don't really notice it, because Master distracts me." The raven-haired teen's fingers stayed right where they were, barely touching the fabric, making Danny smile more. "It's not so bad."

[scrolly:h(333),w(262),sy] "It's not so bad." Danny seemed strangely at-ease with the fact that he wore a collar around his neck, and Alex couldn't decide whether he should feel concerned or relieved. He figured that if Danny was so content to have the brunette as his master, then Alex must be doing a good job keeping him happy, and whatever else masters did for their...whatever Danny was. The teen felt uncomfortable thinking of him as a servant, or butler. His mind quickly went through a list of possible relationships between masters and their counterparts. After naming a few, he quickly stopped, face red. Maybe his mind was in the gutter, but that was one direction he didn't want to consider. Alex decided that he'd be happy with simply calling Danny his companion.
He looked down at the sudden touch on the fabric at his wrist, but kept his hand steady where it was and didn't draw back. Looking down, he saw Danny's genuinely happy face, and the brunette quirked an eyebrow. It was amazing that someone could look so content. Giving in -to what exactly, Alex didn't know,- he hesitantly placed his hand on Danny's head, offering a smile in return.
"It still seems weird, but as long as the collar doesn't bother you and you don't want to take it off, that's alright with me. Now, do you have any clue as to where we are?" He asked, gesturing broadly with his other hand to the cushy pillows beneath them. [/scrolly] |

Letting out a quiet giggle, Danny leaned up into the hand on his forehead. The content smile still sat on his lips, making an otherwise pale face seem bright and warm. "That's an easy question, Master," he crooned. "We're
here." The air around them was cool, damp, as though the pair was in a basement of some sort. On either side were blue-tinted walls, with doors covered in shadow. Danny now stood, arms delicately thrown around Alex's waist. His expression seemed to be a mix of anxiety and...something unknown.
"Wh-where else would we be, after all?" questioned the raven-haired male, letting out a nervous laugh. He didn't believe his own words, that was for sure. Quiet, barely audible moaning could be heard from behind one - many? - of the doors, standing on the razor edge between human and beast-like. Danny shivered, tightening his grasp on the other boy so that there was a soft, but constant pressure on Alex's hips.
A soft whimper seemed to escape Danny's lips, but he made no move to acknowledge the noise. The moaning seemed to be getting closer. "Does...Master wish to stay here?" inquired the taller male quietly, voice on the verge of becoming a whisper.
