Danny heard Amber laughing, which somewhat intrigued him; it was a real laugh, not quite confident, but real. In response, he smiled. Like Amber's laugh, it was a real, and actually happy. Well, this is unusual. Not many people get me to smile like this. He looked far nicer, and he seemed more...human. "Sorry about that, by the way...I didn't mean to freak out on you." he said, laughing a little. He leaned against a wall, still shaking. The shock was starting to wear off, however; the shivers were minimal, and his eyes were quickly becoming cold and shielded once more. "S...so, you're a shapeshifter?" he muttered quietly, his old attitude returned. "That's quite rare...although I have seen a few." Maybe she would guess that he was also a shapshifter. She definately wasn't stupid, and he had dropped at least two hints. "Have you met any others?"

Once the laughter died down, the tense atmosphere lifted. Once hearing Danny’s comment, she could at once tell he was serious. Amber tried to think of a true response, yet one that didn’t sound like she was lying. “Freaked out maybe, scared not at all. I mean, you are scary, but not when you think of different possibilities.” Well I hope that answered his commentary. As they got deeper into the conversation, Amber saw that Danny was starting to revert to his usual self. Cold and defensive, but calm.
As he shifted through the information once more, Amber caught on the small hints he was dropping. So he doesn’t know that I know. As Amber put the words in her head, she sighed. “Well, obviously. I am a shifter. I don’t know if I would consider it rare though…” Near the end she trailed off. Maybe he didn’t know as much as she did, but better be informed than clueless. She tried starting again. “I mean, yes… I do know quiet a few. There a lot of Fangs and Claws out by the harbor. Lots of seagulls… fish… a few cats and rats, sometimes I see dogs wandering around too. Then I also met you today, so… I know quiet a few actually.” As she listed the animals she could remember, memories tangled up with her words. Some good, yet some bad.

"Ah, so you HAVE figured out we're both shifters," Danny said, nodding. "You seem to know quite a lot...but by any chance, have you seen other birds? Besides seagulls, I mean." Now that was a huge hint. If she couldn't guess the very basics of what he was from that, then she wasn't worth talking to. Danny vaguely considered morphing in front of her. It was safe, seeing as there was no one around to see them, and it wasn't like she'd be shocked. However, that wouldn't be any fun. He wanted to keep her playing, guessing, having fun... ...but did friends try to mess with other friends' heads? The brown-eyed teen suddenly felt a very, very small twinge of guilt. Damn conscience. 'It's almost nonexistant', the therapist said. Well, 'almost nonexistant' is just enough to be a pain in the neck. Danny gave her a cool smile. "I feel bad about making you guess, so I'll give you a better hint: 'Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary.'" he quoted. "if you need something more to go on, I'll give you another hint. I don't like to mess with my only friends." ...Wait a second. You just said something personal. Wonderful.

Besides seagulls huh? Why yes I have, and I already happen to know who you are, she wanted to say, but it might have brought conflict between the two. As Amber watched the kid think, her stomach reminded her that it was empty. With her ears erect and listening to his mumblings, her tongue swiped across her mouth. She waited a few moments, just to irritate him and let her thoughts drift to what might be for dinner.
After a short moment of arguments in her head, she came to a conclusion and chose to speak the truth. “For your information, yes I have seen and talked to other birds besides seagulls.” She thought about if she really should tell him, but settled on telling him. Amber was confidant that he wouldn’t do anything, and if he did, well, she knew a lot of Fangs and Claws. At least that’s what her family called them. Amber was just about to answer when she noticed and actually thought about what he said. “… my only friends.”
My, my. Well I shouldn’t be to surprised. He does that have aura about him. After a second of considering it, she finally chose to ignore it. She didn’t want to embarrass him after all. “You’d be surprised how many hints you’ve already dropped, also considering what I might already know. And if you must know, “Amber paused to rethink her decision deciding if it was best or not, “I do happen to already know what you are, Fang.” One eye unconsciously closed as if it was the most normal thing in the world to already know what someone was. “You’re a yellow-eyed raven.” Amber stated as a matter-of-fact.

Danny awaited her answer with an amused smile, then whistled when she guessed correctly. "My form AND my eye color? You must have seen me before!" he laughed. "Oh, and by the way, why did you call me 'Fang'? Considering what I am, it's a very strange name..." He flashed her a bright, playful grin.
Inside, he was extremely grateful she didn't take notice to the needless information he had included. He hadn't meant to say it, really; I guess making new friends makes you open up. Mentally, he told himself to stop making new friends. But he liked having friends...it made society more bearable. Oh dear. This is a dilemna. During his self-argument, he sort of stared off into space, unaware of the things around him, including Amber. The smile was still present, of course; just as vacant as his eyes. Occasionally, his hands would twitch, but that was about it.

The moment his high-pitched whistle echoed around the small area, Amber shook her head trying to rid of the ringing in her ears. Once the sounds quieted, she answered his question. Of course he wouldn’t know what a Fang is... or the fact that she knows what he looks like. Amber mentally pulled her tail. “Actually, no. I’ve never seen you, but I have in fact heard of you. I have many friends.” After a second thought she added, “All human, animal, or shape shifter.”
Even though Amber had only known Danny for a short period, she didn’t recall him to be a laughing type. Oh well, no harm done. Thinking to his next question, caused her to bring up a small purr. Of course all the main terms around the harbor was thanks to their family. Easy to remember, and common, but apparently it hadn’t made it to everyone yet. All shape shifters who weren’t in those human gangs used it, not that the groups needed to use it.
Snapping out of her revere, she realized Danny was still waiting for her response. Amber closed her eyes for a minute; reminiscing about the time the term was thought of. “Oh yes, Fangs and Claws. It’s just a simple term used to separate male and female shape shifters around the harbor.” As she opened her eyes, she watched Danny as he stared at her, but obviously out of it. Wondering what he was thinking about, she waited for him to say something.

After a short while, Danny suddenly realized Amber had spoken. He snapped back and his vacant smile became bright and wide. "Oh, so I see," he said, somewhat recalling the information he had barely heard. "You said they originated where again? I wasn't particularily paying attention." He laughed shortly, then mock bowed. "You have my fullest apologies."
Outside, people had mostly dispersed, the lazy day driving them to spend their time in nearby stores and resteraunts. Appealing scents wafted out of the shops, not missed by Danny. He offhandedly realized that he hadn't actually eaten that day - a rather bad habit of his, by everyone's standards. He stood up, an inquisitive smile gracing his face. "Well! I see no more point in standing out here while we have so many other places to converse. Although, I mostly want to leave because I'm hungry. Would you care to join me for a meal?"

Amber watched him with amusement as he made a wide innocent smile. His little act made her laugh. “Fangs and Claws you know? A basic term for male and female shape shifters. The term originated,” she paused in an attempt to stop a giggle, “near the harbor and somewhat in the city.” After she had informed him again, she saw him glance past her. Following his lead, she twisted her head around and her gaze trailed the people leaving the theatre with popcorn and drinks in their hand. The wonderful aroma wafted reached her sensitive scent glands. Once again, her stomach rumbled a little louder, and was sure Danny could hear it.
Lucky for her, Danny also seemed to be hungry. As if answering her thoughts, he decided to go eat. Agreeing with his own thoughts she suggested the harbor. “If you don’t mind, I would like to go back to the park first and hopefully wish my stuff is still there. Lucky you there’s nothing that can’t be replaced.” Amber faked a playful growl at him. Of course she wasn’t mad, there were only two books, a water bottle, a key, and of course, two extra pairs of clothes. Continuing, “If it’s not there, we can go straight to the dock that is, if you don’t mind eating seafood. I know of the perfect restaurant.” Her kitty-face smiled at the thought of the wharfs.

Danny nodded as Amber restated the information, although he was a little annoyed at her laugh. Was she laughing at him, or something else? Danny pushed the thought away. As soon as she mentioned the park, he remembered her belongings and how he had left them there. Whoops. "Oh, right! I completely forgot about your bag." What was left of his conscience tugged at his mind, so he had the decency to smile sheepishly. "I'm sure it's still there. And considering it's my fault it was left behind, I'll submit to anywhere you wish to eat."
The breeze whispered through the trees as the raven haired boy and sleek-furred cat walked into the near deserted park, save for a few random people. They approached the center of the park where the giant oak tree was, and sure enough, the bag at the base of the trunk was untouched. Danny grinned. "What do you know? I was right." he muttered, barely loud enough for his friend to hear.

As Amber reminded him of her bag, once again, she chuckled at his skeptical reaction. Well, at least I know I’m not sick. Everyone always knew she was a humorous person. Amber could find humor in practically any situation, as long as it wasn’t too serious. As soon as he gave her the command, she hopped up and started a quick trot around the corner, headed towards the park.
As they entered the lonely square, Amber glanced around making sure no people were around. A soft breeze whispered in the trees. Few folks strolled through the park to get home while sadly; some had no choice but to stay. When the pair neared the ancient oak, Amber narrowed her eyes as she saw that her knapsack was still there in one piece.
As Danny reassured her, she glanced up at him, slightly annoyed that he was right, but mostly relieved that all her belongings were there. “Fine then. Stay there though.” Before he could answer, Amber lopped off towards her stuff. When she arrived to it, she clamped her teeth around the leather handle and dragged it around to the other side. Quickly glancing around to make sure no one was looking, she shifted back.
As her transformation ended, she clutched her clothes and immediately dressed herself. She rematched the clothes she already had, and decided to wear some near black, gray khaki pants, a light pink shirt with the picture of flip-flops that said ‘Life is good’, and her favorite blue-gray hoodie. After that was completed, she zipped the zipper all the way shut, hauled it up and slung it over her right shoulder. She casually slipped on her black flip-flops with two blue stripes down the middle, and pulled out a sea-blue hair band. Amber didn’t want to waste Danny’s time, so she began striding out from behind the tree in the middle of tying her hair up, deciding to leave a few strands of hair fall from the right side.
