Trinell was relieved when Amber didn't do anything other than sit where she was, obviously thinking seriously about what she had learned. She let out a laugh, however, as Amber suddenly shot out questions before she could even answer one, her eyes dancing with curiousity. She waited patiently until she had finished before beginning to answer. "Well, it's actually pretty neat. In my opinion, we're like one big family. Alex, our leader, is really cool. He's hot-headed, but that's okay. No one really minds. As for the assassins... Well, I'd think they do it whenever they feel like it. Some for money, some for fun I guess. But I'm pretty sure most of them do it for money. I don't know though." Trinell paused, chuckling lightly, and caught her breath again before speaking once more. She hadn't spoke fast, just a lot. "There probably are some fairly decent people in the Assassins, but I wouldn't know. I've heard that Roscoe, the Second, is pretty decent. He doesn't just go off on a killing spree when he sees a Thief if there's no good reason for it. At least, that's what I've heard. You know what they say about that, though." She rolled her eyes, shrugging. "The Thieves are nice though. Their radical difference from the Assassins was one of the reasons I decided not to join the Assassins. I don't like to kill people if it's not absolutely necessary."She frowned, disgusted. "All of the members, as far as I know again, are Shifters. I know I that I haven't met a Thief yet who wasn't a Shifter though, if that helps. I think our guilds are Shifter-only guilds." She added, sighing humorously when she finished. 'That was a mouthful,' she laughed mentally, merely chuckling outside ofher head. Her eyes glew with an easy-going joy; she was genuinely happy to have Amber's company.

Amber happily listened to Trinell’s knowledge that was being shared. She shifted slightly as she sat in a decent position that would last her at least half an hour. When Trinell paused to catch her breath, Amber quickly wondered what it would be like to be in a guild. She could hardly imagine herself casually leaning against a wall in a dark filthy alley with a few others with her. They would be standing there; just leaning with their heads lowered and eyes closed thinking. Shaking her head, she blinked the image out of her mind. No. That won’t happen to me.
As Trinell went on about the Assassins, Amber was slightly relieved to learn from her companion’s point of view that the Assassin’s didn’t necessarily kill for pleasure. At least I know that my family is safe. Trinell soon chatted about the members within the guilds. So they’re all Fangs and Claws. No wonder I didn’t know. After a second thought, Amber guessed that even if she did ask around, nobody would have known except for the shape shifters in the guild. They wouldn’t have told her the truth anyway, at least… most likely. Trinell seemed to trust her enough to inform her Amber thought with a smile.
As Trinell finished her long answer, Amber tried to think of any more questions that she should be able to answer. A few minutes passed by before she finally gave up and said, “Well, what do you think about your… situation.” She paused to put her words together in her head first. “I mean. What do you believe are the pros and cons about the Thieves?”

Trinell didn't answer Amber's question for a moment, trying to gather her thoughts so that Amber could understand what she was going to say. "I actually like the way it is with us, to tell the truth." She started, still smiling. "As for the pros, well, I'd have to say the family-esque way we treat each other is pretty awesome. I like having a big family, me being a wolf and all I don't like to be a loner too much. Alex is a great leader and we trust him. Better yet, he trusts us. We don't see each other as a group of misfits, we're just people who want to be with others like ourselves. I don't know many Shifters who like hiding their ability from their closed-minded parents and friends. I'm lucky in a way. I don't have to deal with that. There's also the knowledge that if I need help and Thieves are nearby, I'll get it." She smiled happily at her guild, clearly proud to be a part of it. "As for the cons, well, there's always the enmity between us and the Assassins. We have to be careful with them. There's also the being looked down upon by those who don't understand, but I don't really care about that. I don't know them, why should I care what they think about me? And then the ppolice reallydon't like us. Me especially, I'd think. I'm an actual thief. But I only steal the essentials." She shook her head, trying to dislodge the thought. It was still wrong, but she could find no place that would hire a dropout, homeless, parent-less person. Her joy darkened a bit, but then she sighed and siled again, not letting it get to her. It didn't matter, not much anyways. She knew how to survive on her own. "Anyways, those are the pros and cons of being in the Thieves. At least, all the ones I can think of at the moment." She laughed lightly, prefectly relaxed.

Amber carefully listened to everything she explained. Every time she would describe something, she tried to imagine it, but the image wouldn’t come right. I have a family like them, and I have many friends to protect me. Amber thought twice about it. She really did have practically everything they did. As she thought of the cons though, she realized she didn’t have very many enemies unless it was the typical bullies at school.
She wondered, what would it be like, if I had someone to follow? The thought alone almost made her uncomfortable. She was used to following directions from her parents and sometimes her teachers, but never from anyone else. She’d never had the police on her before unless it was at school checking for drugs; not that she did take drugs. When the canine finished speaking, her expression almost changed gloomy, but it instantly brightened.
Would she have to steal if she was in a guild? Would she be required to kill? Amber shuddered at the mere thought. Killing was horrible, and Amber couldn’t stand it. Everyone and anyone deserves to live or be given a second chance. A moment of silence passed between the two, when Amber broke the ice and voice her thoughts, “If you’re in a guild… are you required to kill? Or could you just join and help out.” Her question didn’t sound right in her own ears. Restating, she asked, “I mean, what do you do when you join? Just hang out? Save the other members? Or is it solely for the fight with the other guild?”

Trinell watched as Amber took in what she had said. She looked almost frightened at some of it. She paused for a moment, then asked, “If you’re in a guild… are you required to kill? Or could you just join and help out.” Trinell was about to answer when Amber rephrased her question and said, “I mean, what do you do when you join? Just hang out? Save the other members? Or is it solely for the fight with the other guild?” Trinell took a moment to think of the right way to answer her questions, then said, "Well, when I joined I looked around to find as many fellow Thieves as I could. It's like a club, I guess you could say. We have a few places where we know it's safe to meet up at, and a few places we never go to. The places we never go to are the ones occupied by the Assassins. You can find other Thieves to hang out with, stick to yourself, whatever really. We just stay away from the Assassins if we can. If we don't have to fight, we won't. We really don't want to draw too much attention to ourselves. And no, you're not required to kill at all. I personally despise the idea of killing other humans, especially other Shifters. It's wrong." With that said, Trinell nodded and let her words sink in. "Oh! I almost forgot! Would you like to meet Alex sometime? It shouldn't be that hard to find him," She chuckled, eyes bright.

Once Trinell answered her question and explained what you did, Amber could picture it this time. It wouldn’t be different than her life right now, but she was stuck on the idea of no gang. No matter what Trinell said, Amber’s instincts told her not to going a guild. Her father taught her better, and she was all for ears. Even though Trinell was in a guild, she seemed almost just like Amber. Calm, knowledgeable, not a fighter… Just like her.
Amber was in the middle of pondering, when all of the sudden, the wolf interrupted, “Oh! I almost forgot! Would you like to meet Alex sometime? It shouldn’t be that hard to fin him.” After her little exclaim was finished, she ended it with a little chuckle. Meet Alex? Didn’t she say he was the leader of the Thieves? Thousands of thoughts raced through her mind most involving her joining or her dieing. She couldn’t do that to her family and friends.
She decided to start easy first. “Well… w-what is he like?” Amber stuttered over her question. She didn’t even know if she wanted to meet him. What if it was a trick? She sincerely hoped not, but from her short conversation with Trinell, she didn’t seem like the kind to lie. Although she is a thief, she admitted it. Before Trinell could answer though, she unsurely muttered, “I… I guess I could meet him.” As to make sure attention wasn’t brought upon her, she stood up and quickly made a spine-tingling stretch. She backed up to make enough room for Trinell to hop down to show her the way.

Trinell smiled brightly when Amber asked her what Alex was like. "Well, he's not mean, that's for sure. He's actually a pretty cool guy. If you don't want to join, then that's okay. He won't mind. If you do want to join, then welcome to the family! He's a good leader. You know, like the ones who will actually care about what their followers think? He takes care of us." She nodded gratefully when Amber moved back enough for her to hop down from her perch. Doing so, she looked around and sniffed the air, trying to see if she could pick up Alex's scent anywhere near by. She caught a faint whif coming from the pier, mixed in with salt water and fish. Nodding to herself, she started jogging for it. Hopefully, he would still be there. If not, oh well. She'd find him eventually. And she could always ask the Scouts. They usually knew where he was.

The small fox trotted quickly away from the boardwalks, leaving Roscoe behind. After their encounter, he had a different point of view on the Assassins. Even though they were the opposing Guild, it was actually really nice to be able to talk to some of them, outside of their Guild positions. It gave him insight that he would have never thought of otherwise.
They were just Shifters, like them.
But that alone wasn't enough to break the old tradition of war between the two. Once, the guilds had been joined as one, but they just had too many separate ideas, that it hadn't worked. It probably would never be done again. Alex turned right, past the stores, and off of the boardwalk. A sudden scent hit him: one of the Thieves! He grinned, pausing to stick his nose in the air: it smelled like Trinell. He trotted onward, faintly picking up a scent that mingled with hers. Someone else. He hoped that the Thief wasn't in trouble...

Trinell blinked when the wind brought a sudden stron wave of Alex's scent towards her, snorting at the unexpected wave. Whoa. But she grinned anyways and picked up her pace to a trot, calling over her shoulder at Amber, "Found him! He up ahead!" She spotted him a moment later and let out a bark to let him know where she was. He probably already knew though. Oh well. "Alex!" She called as she got closer, slowing to a prance. "I wanted you to meet someone. Her name is Amber and she is currently not in either of the guilds. She's a Shifter though!" She rambled, excited, before plopping down before him, perfectly relaxed.

Amber trailed after Trinell as she bounded ahead. A sudden gust of air brought on a whole wave of scents. Living near the wharfs, Amber was used to them and ignored them, but one scent out of hundreds caught her attention. The smell had a slight familiarity to it, sort of like Trinell’s. Maybe it’s another shifter? What if it’s Alex? Amber shook her body, ridding the bad feeling.
Nothing will happen, nothing will happen. Trinell suddenly turned toward the scent, nearly confirming Amber’s idea. When she called out for Alex, Amber was now sure it was him. As Trinell slowed down a trot, Amber followed her lead, but sat just behind her, but enough room to the side so she could see the animal in front of her. What she saw was the complete opposite of what she expected.
In front of her stood a small blue-gray fox with black stocks and a gray underbelly. His emerald eyes shone brightly, a warmth for Trinell she supposed. So she wasn’t lying. Alex seemed kind enough. His easy-going smile reassured Amber that nothing would happen. As Trinell explained who she was, she made it sound like shifters weren’t common around here.
Thinking about her many journeys, Amber thought back to all the times she’d met a shifter. Amber could remember at least 15 or 20, quiet a few when she actually thought about it. There were many shape Fangs and Claws around the harbor. Maybe it’s a good vacation spot, she amusingly thought. When Trinell finished her excited enlightenment, Amber shyly murmured a small hello.
